Maybe this is when Rashad White gets traded for an early 4 th round pick.
    Not happening–Joe

  2. Ancient Says:

Huh? So then we’d have to Rachaad’s replacement. So send away a RB that already knows our system, can handle pass pro correctly (Tucker is too short and cannot), to get a late round pick….and Bucky is not a belllcow either not can his body handle 30 touches a game for 17 weeks.

    Yeah that adds up.

  3. Pewter Power Says:

Yea it’s the parrot age. Rashaad white or a gamble on a 4th round pick, white was never on the table? People were crying for rookie cornerbacks ya got em. Crying for a pass rusher ya got reddick. As a GM you can’t throw away a second round pick after 1 year. They have to see if Braswell will develop just like they gave JTS time even though they gave him too long

Thank you for this analysis! Egbuka and Morrison will learn from great professionals and not be pressured to contribute heavily right away. I understand the concern about not drafting a linebacker high, but it’s not without trying. Braswell was a second round draft pick. Licht probably feels “comfortable” that CB is more important than a linebacker and even an edge rusher, given the defensive scheme. Ask him with a follow up question about why he feels that way. As we understand it today, were there legitimate edge or linebacker prospects available at that point in the draft?

The ‘platoon’ method in drafting two CBs back-to-back reminded me a little of ex-GM Dominick’s approach with defensive linemen (and, yes, Licht in 2019), but I have more faith in Licht’s picks. With Reddick’s situation, the Bucs might be pressured to draft an edge rusher in the first round next year.

I am ready for 30+ ppg! This is considering that one of our NFC South rivals, Atlanta, drafted defense. Speaking of that, can you talk about what our rivals in the NFC South did in their drafts?

The draft profiles I read on both corners we selected described them as being strong in man coverage. It seemed the Bucs played a lot of zone coverage last year because they didn’t have the studs to play man. Bowles did say he watched the film for every play on defense and now knows what he needs to do to fix it. Maybe drafting of two corners who excel at man coverage is the answer. Morrison, if healthy, can play outside and Parrish inside. Take note, Parrish will be an impact player! By the way, I loved the Egbuka pick. With Mike Evans not getting any younger and Chris Godwin’s recovery time in question, selecting a wide receiver was a smart move for a team that wants to score points. It’s also good succession planning.

  7. SenileSenior Says:

All three players will be expected to get on the field and make a contribution in 2025. Can’t knock that if the window is opening for a Super Bowl run as many are saying.

This was a lively discussion, gentlemen. Many tidbits to chew on.

    Go Bucs!!
