Nailed it. We needed WR and def needed CB twice….Im still waking up trying to get caught up….accidentally slept through the whole thing yesterday. Too many beers and a melotonin will take you out lol.
If you don’t like this draft, then honestly, you might want to consider finding a new team—because this is the Buccaneer way. Character comes first. There are plenty of athletic guys out there, but do they love the game? Do they have a high football IQ and strong character? Those traits are choices—and they’re uncoachable. You either have the will, the want, and the desire to do things the right way, or you don’t.
You can coach technique and fundamentals—some players in the NFL are still raw talent—but you can’t coach character. You can’t take the “thug” or “bad apple” out of someone. Only they can make that change.
The Bucs drafted talented athletes who you should never see in the news for anything other than being great players or great people. That makes this team easy to root for—because they’re not just good football players; they’re high-character, highly likeable and should be role models in their communities.
I called it an A but it’s really a B+ for me. I still wish we would have picked Xavier Watts in round 3. I support Parrish and hope he has a great career for us, but I think we really missed on an opportunity for a gamechanger there.
I love the Benjamin Morrison pick though. If his hip issues are behind him, he was a top 15 level talent. A+
And the more I sit on it and digest the Emeka Egbuka pick, the more I like it.
So, I gave a B, of course. But honestly, it could also be an A for me.
If I look at it objectively:
🏴☠️ First Round: Wide receiver may not have been a priority need, but it was a need. Emeka Egbuka seems like a good quality pick. I’m still not convinced Godwin will be back by week one, and even if he is, be may not come back the same quality. With Emeka Egbuka the only concern I have is height…he’s smaller than Godwin…a half foot shorter than Evans. This, to me, is a concern…but no a huge issue if he can overcome it the issues it will cause.
The truth is, I wanted a LB or Edge in the first found, but my preference not being met would be a petty reason to reduce the rating.
🏴☠️ Second Round: Benjamin Morrison. This guy will be our steal of the draft. I see a lot of fans mentioning his hip injury…Morrison stated he waited for the “right time” to get the hip surgery, waiting for his growth plates to close and not cause any further complications.
I have a son who has had 30+ surgeries, and this makes complete sense to me. Surgeries that are don’t while the body is still growing can tend to cause issues later. So the fact that Benjamin Morrison was smart enough to make that decision is a great sign.
He’s first round talent, and the surgery caused him to fall to us. I’m pretty confident that it will not become a major issue.
As with our previous pick, height is the only real concern I have. 6’0″ seems short for a CB in todays NFL (at least to me it does).
🏴☠️ Third Round: Jacob Parrish. Another short cornerback. Not sure how that will work out, but on paper this is a great pick. More of a shut down corner. While he may not win many jump balls, he can otherwise do a bang up job. Willing to go against the run too. A solid pick.

“Finally have enough quality people to ensure we don’t have to play that @#$#$@ soft zone. Would LOVE to see both corners playing press for once”
Personally, I hate Zone coverage. But I don’t see Bowles changing the was he runs his defense.
I say give the Bucs an A- as the Bucs picked up 3 high character, solid athletes who can contribute right away (yeah, I think Egbuka will likely see his share of snaps, it was not like McMillan is a lock for #3, remember he was banged up a bit in the middle of last season and was inactive for a bit) though we all know that the real grade for this draft will not be known for a few seasons……
Amen to the hatred of the soft zone Bonzai, it was demoralizing to see the DBs giving 10 yard cushions on 3rd 8 type of downs….. I really, really hope that the Bowles was calling such schemes out of desperation with the injuries and obvious lack of talent in key positions. That being said, you are right in that Bowles is pretty set in his ways so I do not see him changing how he runs his defense either, I just hope with the addition of new talent this offseason and via the draft, the Bucs’ D will simply perform better. Time will tell.
Looks like Bowles’ big insight into last year’s problems was that his soft zone sucked. The two corners might have solved that problem! Egbuka is another win-now pick.
I hoped for front seven picks but the depth there is great in this draft. Sawyer, Pegues, Peebles, Chris Paul and Deone Walker would all be great additions and there’s doubtless more.
Paul in fourth and Walker in fifth would make it A+ in my book. So far A-.
this group of 3 = D. Egbuka is a good rcv. and that’s it. Morrison is injury prone. Parrish is small and in no way inhell is a shut down corner. the 1st 3 picks should’ve been for elite players at their spec. position. today will produce the same results. bargain basement players for bargain basement prices.
Yeah, having a bunch of “choir boys” is nice and all, BUT can they/will they get you over the top… I don’t know about all that!? This site is turning into the Magic & Rays SubReddits… I’ve never seen such ‘homerism’ before, with a professional sports franchise. Most of the people on here, would’ve LOVED no matter ‘who’ we picked (without even seeing them play a single down of college football). I saw a bunch of other teams trying! I like the guy, but you STILL got a WR that would’ve been a 3rd-Round Pick at BEST in last year’s draft (Urban Meyer LOVES the kid and said 4th-Rounder, & that’s why he returned to OSU for his Senior Season). I wonder how JMac is feeling about right now!? And, before EE is ‘anointed’ WR3 by everyone… Remember, JMac would’ve been at WORST a 2nd-Round Pick in last season’s more loaded WR-class, had he not been injured during his final season at Washington (was WR1a alongside of #9-overall pick Odunze). So, even though EE is a 1st-Round Pick… JMac isn’t just handing over HIS WR3 without a fight, I can guarantee that.
I’ll tell ya what… Vea & Kancey BETTER stay healthy for the ENTIRE season. AND, Braswell, YaYa, & Hall BETTER turn into studs. I don’t expect much with either CB pick next season. So, BETTER stay healthy there, too!!!! What are we doing with all the $$$$ we freed up by restructuring those contracts for THIS season… Why did they wait so long, until it was too late, to do it!? Why didn’t we sign any ‘experience’ veteran DB’s with it, that could help us THIS year!? T-Kras said on the radio a couple of weeks ago, that he didn’t ‘think’ we could carry the $$$$ over to next seasons salary cap, so HOW does that help us this year (being so late in the game)… I know some of it goes to draft-picks, but we were sitting at like #9 in the league with available cap left for this season, & quite a bit of it. Are they saving it for the ‘Deadline’ OR are they just going to ‘pocket-it’… I don’t get it!? And, I’m not the only one either, cause neither did T-Kras.
Draft pick contracts are essentially locked in and accounted for. As for the extra cap space—maybe it’s setting up for a trade today? A lot of people don’t realize there’s a unique rolling cap rule that allows teams to carry over unused cap space into the next year and beyond. Cap management in the NFL is surprisingly complex. Honestly, it’s strange that the NFL’s salary cap includes a “carryover” rule (under the CBA), where any unused cap from one year can be applied to the next. Combined with roster bonuses and prorating contracts for years when players aren’t even on the team, you can basically do magic with the cap.

Going with B too.

B Mo was a great pick, lockdown #1 corner the second he stepped on the field as a freshman
I’m so stoked you have no idea, the Bucs drafting my favorite player from Notre Dame? can’t write it up any better than that
If you don’t watch Notre Dame football, B Mo is a seatbelt covered in Stickum that travels with teams #1 and shuts them down
Him not playing in the Natty against Jeremiah Smith hurt a lot
April 26th, 2025 at 8:00 am
Lots of injury issues with the second pick – seems like an unnecessary gamble
Can’t argue with the other 2 picks, definitely a need at slot CB and Mike Chris can’t play forever

Way too early to grade a draft, but we needed everything we’ve drafted so far.

PLUS, these picks are hiiiiighly talented, so overall this draft is unexpected but makes a lot of sense
