Heroic Effort From Vita Vea

November 5th, 2024

Buccaneers manbeast defensive tackle Vita Vea recorded multiple career highs tonight against a strong Chiefs offensive line.

Joe was damn proud of the big man — who is larger than he was this summer when he reported to work leaner than usual.

Vea racked up seven solo tackles and 10 combined tackles tonight, both career bests and monster numbers from a routinely double-teamed interior lineman. Vea also had two sacks; he leads the Bucs with five.

Overall, Joe thought Vea’s brute strength was on display all night. Vea was ripping dudes down with one hand and hustling relentlessly.

When the snap-count tallies for the game are revealed, Joe guesses they’ll show Vea played more than he usually does. Maybe that was because Vea had an extra day of rest and is healthy, or it’s because Greg Gaines was out with a bad calf and Vea ate up some of his snaps.

Regardless, if Vea can come on like this in the second half of the season, he’ll be back in the Pro Bowl and the Bucs will have a much better shot at beating all the bad teams on their late-season schedule.

One of the few bright spots on defense. Vita has been amazing this year.

    Awesome game by Vita Vea!

  3. BoricuaBucFan Says:

My guy. This man just doesn’t get enough credit. Absolute game-wrecker

  4. Tony Says:

Vita & Kancey seemed to be some of the few who showed up. Yaya had a couple of nice TFL, too! Please say goodbye to Bowles after this year because he cant keep forcing the offense to score 40 every week with the way he’s running the D. He’s got the CBs so far off the WRs to where they’re in Hillsborough county & the WRs are in Pinellas county.

  5. Tony Says:

The WRs must have a restraining order on our secondary because obviously we can’t get within so many yards of them.

Vita needs to play more period, the more snaps for him the better. He would get numbers like he did tonight every week if he was in the game more

vita’s playing well…did look winded and gassed like a lot of guys down the stretch tho…which is expected – the d rocked 40 minutes out there on the field…(let coach know)

i think vita gained the weight back tho…i’m not sure, but he looked trim, for him, when camp rolled around this past summer…but i think he’s beefing back up 🙂

honestly if you had a beastly #1 edge guy…

with kancey and vita playing well…

and yaya looking live out there last night, we’d be good…

we could be a force up front with a real #1 edge man

The defense was so much better. He finally let the pass rushers rush the passer last night. Braswell looked good too. Missed Gaines and really miss Dean.

We pay him well he should be playing at this level. He needs to get in better shape. He was gassed in the 4th and OT. The chiefs ran it down his throat

  11. Bojim Says:

Bet he impressed America. He sure impressed me.

  12. Mike Johnson Says:

Thanks Big Vita. America witnessed you playing your A.. Off.

  13. Joe Mac Says:

    Vea needs to build stamina.

Play him 75% of the snaps.

He needs to push his mental limits. And become the god he is.

    All Hail King Vea!!

Vita is a beast. Kancey finally showed up too. I almost forgot he was even on the team.
