“Flying Around” Vita Vea Says He’s 347 Pounds

June 11th, 2024

Joe predicts it will be this year or next when the NFL decides it no longer will lie to fans about players’ heights and weights.

What will spark the change? No, not a hunger to be truthful to young, impressionable fans, it will be the gambling forces the league embraces.

All-world left tackle Tristan Wirfs is listed by the team at 320 pounds. Wirfs says he’s 360. Many teams take a guy’s NFL Scouting Combine weight and report that indefinitely

Such has been the case for manbeast nose tackle Vita Vea. At the 2018 Combine, Vea weighed 347 pounds, so that’s been his official weight. However, Vea was pushing 370 pounds at times and has been lauded at One Buc Palace for getting in great shape this offseason.

Today after mandatory minicamp, Vea was asked if he’s 347 pounds like he’s listed on the team website, and he said that he is. And maybe that was honest.

Vea looked leaner on the field and head coach Todd Bowles liked what he saw. He was training on his own and wasn’t a regular at voluntary spring practices.

“He’s quick. He’s good. You know, he’s in shape. He’s flying around, a little faster than he was last year. So [I] hope that continues,” Bowles said of Vea.

Vea said he getting in shape was “just one of those things” he had put off in past offseasons and “I finally pulled the trigger on it.”

His diet needs to be low in carbs and high in QBs.

  2. Boss Says:

Let’s hope so. He should cut another 20-30lbs and play more snaps.

He’s a beast, maybe that would change that. only he knows.

would be nice to rule it out though.

  3. BucsFan55 Says:

I assumed he would be at like 320-330.

tree-fitty is that egg eating sumo wrestler from the replacements.

I think Joe is right. It will be the gambling forces that will demand correct height and weight in the future.

Can see it in his face, drop more!
    330 should be big enough

  7. Fred McNeil Says:

Losing a few pounds would be so much better for his heart.

    Off-seasons stunt evolution.

Lazy off-seasons can destroy a career.

Tyler Johnson and Leonard Fournette both.

Tom Brady never rested in the off-season.

He evolved more during the off-season than any player in history.

Vea will go down as the greatest NFL talent to never be an All-Pro.

Vea should be a 5 time All-Pro by now. Let’s be real.

He’s the biggest fastest strongest DT or NT to ever play the game.

But he looked stumpy and fat the last 3 years.

    Suh was good for him.

    Vea needed him around.

Anyway. It’s easy for a God like Vita Vea to be complacent and lazy.

He’s one of the most freakish athletes in the history of the world.

At least he was a few years ago.

A I can scan their bodies and predict weight within 1% now.

If Vea had Sapp’s killer instinct he’d be the greatest of all time. Love the guy, just wish he was more driven to be the best.

Finally! Been wondering how come the Bucs “official website” has gotten away with a whole lot of this fudging of weights. It is kind of amusing looking at Wirfs Vea and Kiefts weights.

    Go Bucs!

That was Vea not wanting to talk about it. Watch the interview. Just looking at his face, you can see he is 320-330lbs. He actually started by humorously saying no I gained 20lbs with a smile.
