Practice Notes From OTA

May 21st, 2024

Bucs at OTA practice today.

Underwear football was in full swing at a toasty Bucs practice Tuesday morning.

No, no Tristan Wirfs. Joe doesn’t blame Wirfs. He witnessed first-hand what happened to Ryan Jensen two years ago. And it’s not like Wirfs, who is at One Buc Palace regularly working out, needs an underwear football practice.

Just a reminder for folks, both new readers and old, underwear football is basically flag football. There is no hitting of any sort. Dudes are in shorts and practice jerseys. No pads.

The following are highlights. Practice was heavily screened from the fourth estate so not all players were seen.

* New day in Tampa Bay: Rachaad White takes a handoff from Baker Mayfield and runs left outside!

* Mayfield rolls left and hits Cade Otton down the left sideline.

* Mayfield takes a few steps to his right and connects short with Chris Godwin on the right side.

* Mayfield steps left and pitches (!) to Chase Edmonds as he runs left.

* Kyle Trask does a nice job of hauling in a very high snap and still is able to complete a pass to Bucky Irving over the middle.

* Maybe midway through practice, Cody Mauch walks off the practice field escorted by a trainer into One Buc Palace. Joe couldn’t tell if he was hurt or the heat got to him. WTVT-TV Channel 13 sports anchor Kevin O’Donnell thought he noticed Mauch limping. Joe didn’t see it, at least it wasn’t that noticeable.

7-on-7

* Coverage sack! Mayfield pumps left. Hops. Pumps right, nothing there, there rolls right. If this were 11-on-11 and hitting was allowed Mayfield may have been sacked.

* Mayfield hits Chase Edmonds in the right flat.

* Trask throws over the middle for Deven Thompkins who ran in from the left but the throw led Thompkins too much and perhaps a bit too high.

* Trask connects with Payne Durham down the right seam.

* Trask to Irving in the right flat.

* After a break, Trask walks over to a side field with running back Patrick Laird to get extra throwing in.

* Mayfield hits Godwin down the right seam.

* Irving zig-zags his way up the middle.

11-on-11

* Safety Rashad Wisdom (UTSA) picks off John Wolford.

* Couldn’t tell who Mayfield was throwing to as Joe was screened by a line of players but Mayfield’s pass was too long to the right.

* Mayfield rolls to his left and throws the ball away to the left side as YaYa Diaby was in hot pursuit.

* Trask fumbled a poor, low snap but was still able to get off a completion to rookie receiver Jalen McMillan in the left flat.

    Go trask lol

  2. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

I don’t even want to ask, but can I assume our #1 draft pick was the one hiking to Trask on the second team?

  3. catcard202 Says:

Who’s snapping 1st team reps? Hainsey or Barton??

Was Barton at C when bad snaps occurred, or was it Hainsey or UDFA C Avery Jones (AUB)???

(Underwear FB & worried about Day 1 OTA OL play…Yeah, I’m that guy!)

  4. heyjude Says:

Thank you for sharing the highlights. Hope Cody Mauch is okay.

  5. Boss Says:

Man… sound like Trask is lighting it up again!!!!!

    Get R Done Kyle!

  6. Dude Says:

“* Safety Rashad Wisdom (UTSA) picks off John Wolford.”

hey hey one for the UDFA.

  7. SlyPirate Says:

Great clip! Exciting. Bucs offense vs no one.

  8. Dave Pear Says:

Maybe Coen can figure out a way to average 30ppg.

If the Bucs want another division title and want to overcome Bowels’ losing record with both teams he’s head coiched, they’re gonna have to.

    Go Bucky!!!

    ^^^^^^^^^^
Too bad facts don’t back your feelings, Pear. Look at how many points the Bucs gave up last year.

  11. D-Rok Says:

These practices are just installs of the offense (maybe some defense). Nothing yet to see here.

    I remain patient.

  12. go dawgs Says:

Trask definitely sounds like he was more mobile and agile after the practice. I mean his athletic ability on those bad snaps?? I think he obviously proved today that he is the starter.

  13. A Bucs Fan Says:

Agh has the bad snaps for Trask?

  14. Scott Says:

    Trask season has begun

  15. Chad Says:

Here we go with the trask boys, again. Guys it ain’t happening trask won’t see the field unless baker has a serious injury. I don’t care what trask does with second string offense vs second string defense. Time to root for baker or go watch another team

  16. Crickett Baker Says:

I also want to know who is snapping the ball. Kyle seems to have great athleticism!

  17. Oneilbuc Says:

I think they should not let Trask practice with the starters because this might be another training camp where Trask is out playing Baker again!! Lol 🤣🤣 I hope we win the superbowl this year and Baker has 38 TD and 5 picks. But if Trask is playing better than Baker again in training camp you can’t get mad because people are bringing it up. I don’t care who’s the quarterback this year because the bucs need to draft one next year anyway. Or less Baker plays like Jerry Golf at least than they don’t need to draft a quarterback. But if this another training camp and Trask is playing better then what do you expect for any real bucs fan to say ?? We want the best players on the field not the most popular player regardless of his mosie!!

  18. Oneilbuc Says:

And by the way if Trask does play better than Baker Mayfield what does that tell you about Baker Mayfield? A guy who started for 4 different teams vs a guy with no experience.

  19. Boss Says:

my man with a radar clocked trask at 21.6 MPH on a scramble

  20. Joe in Michigan Says:

Oneilbuc is still trying to stir up a QB “controversy” where there obviously isn’t one.

  21. Oneilbuc Says:

Chad . The best players should play because if Baker plays bad than that will make people wonder if Trask was the starter than maybe we could be winning. Now I know Baker is a business decision not a football decisions and we all know Baker will start and I don’t think no real bucs fan hope Baker Mayfield fail but if Kyle Trask plays better than Baker Mayfield this training camp again it’s going to be division in the fan base and that’s the problem. And you can scream go root for another team all you want but the real bucs fans ain’t going anywhere we just want the best players to play. And if Baker plays good in training camp we will be happy for him. But we can’t keep ignoring facts bro!!

  22. Oneilbuc Says:

Joe from Michigan. I don’t have to stir up nothing because we all know Baker was gifted the starting job. But again facts are facts when it comes to the play on the field. I don’t care about names or mosie I care about the best players being on the field to help the team win .

  23. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

I heard that Trask ran 35mph then jumped over a building. Incredible!!

  24. Bucben61 Says:

Traskateers you just sound petty and delusional

  25. Boss Says:

joe in MI is a detroit troll

  26. Bucben61 Says:

Boss you are a saints troll what’s the difference

  27. All_da_way Says:

The diversified running plays will help because running up the gut all the time is too predictable and that isn’t White’s strength.

  28. Bucben61 Says:

    Oneilbuc…..
You make absolutely no sense…Baker took a team that almost everyone wrote off and won 9 games and another NFC South title….factor in the poor oline play and non existent run game and what he accomplished is incredible….you are nothing but a poor excuse for a bucs fan

  29. robclwtr Says:

35 and then jumped over a building! Now that’s good stuff!!

  30. gotbbucs Says:

Said after the season that Wirfs shouldn’t show up until he gets a new deal. Everyone says “No. He’s not that kind of person. He’s a team player. He wouldn’t do that”
He may be a team player, but thank God he’s not an idiot. You won’t see him again until they’re announcing his extension at a press conference.

    ^^^^^^^
I’ve been on here with the same name for several years now. Further proof you have no idea what you’re talking about…What was your name on here before you switched to Boss? Was it Ndog? Realisto? Tell the truth for once.

  32. BucaneroJim Says:

I heard that Baker ran 35mph, then tried to jump over a building… was too short and did not make it.

  33. gotbbucs Says:

According to that little video clip they had Hainsey still in as starting center with Opeta in at LG with the group Mayfield was with.
Barton was center and Bredeson at LG with the group that was with Wolford at QB.
It means nothing right now, but still interesting.

  34. Bucblind Says:

If you think for one minute that any nfl coach wouldn’t play the best player that would improve their chances of winning games you have either lost your mind or you don’t understand the NFL where ALL coaches will do ANYTHING to win. It is ALL about winning and the money that follows the winning. Any other conclusion is just daydreaming on your part, period. Trask just isn’t as good as Baker, sorry.

  35. Bucblind Says:

Hey Boss I can’t tell if you are kidding about Trask being clocked at 21.6 mph? I hope you are because that is the biggest load of BS I have ever heard. He ran a 5.08 40. Furthermore, 21.6 mph is world class sprinting speed on the track. And you Baker haters expect people with brains to take that and not respond. 🤣🤣🤣
Baker ran 38.8 mph in cowboy boots backwards, seriously he did it!!!
He also ran a 3.8 40!!! Come on dude

  36. Bucblind Says:

Tyreek Hill only ran 22.01mph. So Trask is faster than Hill??

  37. birdie Says:

Thank you Joe, for keeping us updated,That’s why I come here for my Bucs news.Your #1

  38. birdie Says:

Thank you ,Joe for keeping us up dated

  39. WiseCrack Says:

Seems like I am finally out of my year long jail sentence here on JBF.

ANYWAYS, Gotta admit @Oneilbuc speaks for Diehards of any team but here with the Bucs.

The opportunity to have a homegrown Franchise QB for 10+ years is like the opportunity to capture a real-life unicorn.

The Irony of a guy like Baker holding us back from our chance to capture the unicorn is actually poetic and beautiful.

Cause the only thing better than capturing a real life unicorn is capturing LOMBARTIES!!!

    JUST WIN BABY!!!

  40. stpetebucfan Says:

    O’Neill Buc

AGAIN…no matter how many times you trot out the canard about Trask actually outplaying Baker in the pre season and practices it will NEVER make it a fact!!!

It’s an OPINION obviously not shared by the Bucs braintrust. You use another OPINION expressed a couple of times here by one of the Joes, although I read that as shock at Trask’s dramatic improvement based on how much he SUCKED his first three years here.

I can play this game. TRASK DID NOT OUTPLAY BAKER LAST YEAR LEADING UP TO THE FIRST GAME!!! Of course that’s just another opinion and we all know what they say about opinions!!!

Trask was NOT the starter. Now that is a FREAKING FACT!!! Get over it!!

JW was NOT the savior, he’s not great, again an opinion but check out his actual results since the Bucs dumped him.

  41. Oneilbuc Says:

Buc61. You can’t give Baker all the credit bro because if it wasn’t for Winfield and our kicker we don’t make the playoffs because we lose against the Panthers week 17 . Our defense bailed this offense out of a lot of games !! I get you guys love Baker but you have to take the rose color glasses off and look at the team for who they are. And Baker played a major roll in that 6 game losing streak all but one of those games where he played well . But other 5 games he was not good. But I know how a lot of people call a good game when he plays bad for 3 quarters and pad his stats the final 3 minutes when the game is over but you can’t ignore the bad 3 quarters and 13 minutes and say he had a good game.

  42. DoooshLaRue Says:

Joe really needs to hire OhKneel Buc as a writer.
    That guy be goot.

  43. Oneilbuc Says:

Steptebuc. Baker was a business decision not a football decision and we all have the proof from training camp last year. No one has confirmed that Baker was better not even Todd Bowles or Jason Licht. But he’s the starter and we have to root for him as fan base. But that don’t take away from fact that Trask was better. I remember the 9 picks to Kyle Trask 1 when both were practicing with the starters. And IRA came and said his scores told him Baker would be the starter regardless week 1 . And that’s a fact that can be proven!!

  44. WiseCrack Says:

It’s fun to debate Talent vs Potential.

Trask represents the Potential of having a QB that is better than any Talent the Bucs have ever put behind center not named Brady.

In fact, I want a guy that LOOKS and PLAYS like BRADY. If only we drafted someone like that when Brady was here. If only, a charming alternative would have just turned left vs right.

But you know what, I am from Tampa born and raised. WE ARE A CHARMING TOWN.

We love Baker but we love winning MORE!!!

  45. WiseCrack Says:

2 game losing streaks bring back PTSD for most. NEVER mind 4 or more.

    Looking at you Baker.

Everyone should agree. The last 4-5 games saved Baker and Todds jobs.
3 games of which Baker had less then acceptable performances BUT the DEFENCE CLEARLY WON for us.

  46. WiseCrack Says:

And if you say Baker was playing hurt.

Then he should have been holding a clip board.

  47. Hodad Says:

If I’m looking at that Oline picture right, that’s Barton at center, Mauch at LG?

  48. Buca Dawg Says:

Already dividing camps for or against Baker as our starter. Forget it unless he gets hurt it’s his team.Joe thanks for practice updates keep em coming. Good thing football is a TEAM sport.

  49. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I doesn’t really matter who was at center. It was the first day. Hainsey will be rusty and Barton will be nervous.

Give it some time, and we’ll see who is best at center.

So far as Trask vs Mayfield…Baker is the starter, and it will remain so until he does something to lose the role or gets injured.

Frankly, I hope both of them excel at this point.

  50. Doc Says:

    @Oneilbuc

You are 100% correct. Trask did outplay Mayfield in training last season according to several sources, including Joe himself, who wrote two articles after training camp had ended saying just that (they are in the JBF Archives). And, Joe was there in person, unlike stpetefsufan who hates Trask and refuses to read Joe’s articles on the matter.

  51. Bucben61 Says:

Joe’s is wrong about a lot of things and if Joe thinks Trask outplayed Baker last year he was wrong about that too

  52. Bucben61 Says:

I have a feeling the Joe’s print those articles to rile the masses

  53. BigBoiBuc Says:

Is this entire off-season Joe Bucs page going to just be filled with the Baker vs Trask bs? Good grief. Becoming unreadable.

  54. Oneilbuc Says:

The bucs can win with Baker as long as the let him mange the game.

  55. BakerBucs says duh Says:

only way Trask gets paid is if baker pays him from his advance auto parts contract u people r like total morons.WTF good r u people putting stupid stuff on this site get a life losers

  56. BakerBucs says duh Says:

    Doc says doc of dickheads

  57. Joe Says:

Joe’s is wrong about a lot of things and if Joe thinks Trask outplayed Baker last year he was wrong about that too

For the 800th time, there was no way Todd Bowles was not going to start Baker Mayfield unless Trask practiced so well the Bucs couldn’t pull him off the field. Joe wrote this ***all*** last year. And by all accounts it was a wise move.

    That’s become clearly obvious since.

Bowles was on the hot seat. There was ZEE-ROW chance to was going to risk his career with Kyle Trask unless Trask turned into the second-coming of Josh Allen. Anyone who thought otherwise was dropping shrooms, then and now.

Now sure why people could never grasp this, unless, yes, they are on shrooms.

  58. BakerBucs says duh Says:

Baker losing the qb1 so he gets a 110 mill to sit on the bench what grade schooling do u people have 1st grade level obviously

  59. BakerBucs says duh Says:

    Knuckleheads like Biden

  60. Bucblind Says:

As I said daydreamers, ignorant about how the NFL really works, mentally challenged , in denile or brain dead. The best players play, especially when you’re on the hot seat like Bowels was. Liking someone or friendship has nothing to do with who plays. Baker has elevated the play of every team he has played for. That’s exactly why he starts, he IS a winner that has been on the very worst teams in the league. But he still was able to drag them to winning more games. You can quote all the stats you want, statistics lie and liars use statistics, but that one fact remains above them all, the teams WIN MORE when Baker Mayfield shows up, every single time. All the yappin in the world can’t change that, that IS the way it IS and why HE starts. 🤑 Then there is the fact of who makes the $100,000,000. I guess everyone from the coaches up to the owner is wrong about who’s the best but you few typing away are the ones that really KNOWS LMAO🤣You’re right and they are wrong😂😂😂

  61. Bucblind Says:

    🤔🤣

  62. Bucblind Says:

    Baker🤑
    Trask😵‍💫

    Baker fans😁
    Trask fans🥴

  63. Usfbuc Says:

Just to clarify stats can be manipulated but they can’t lie. Stats are numbers without any sentience and therefore no reason to lie. Don’t blame the stats.

  64. Usfbuc Says:

Also the Falcons I think are about to prove that a big contract means nothing, if the Broncos didn’t already prove that. The Falcons paid Cousins more than BM and depending on how their new kid comes along he might be on the bench at some point this season.

  65. Usfbuc Says:

All that said I think BM is going to be the starter for the next few years. The team did well last year so hopefully they can build on it.

  66. Oneilbuc Says:

The training camp from last year proved that Trask was better for if you take the last names off the back of the jersey number 2 would have been the starter according to the play on the field. If Pete Carol would have been the coach Trask would have been the starter. It doesn’t matter who starts because you ain’t winning a superbowl with either of them. I think the first pick of the 2025 draft should be a quarterback. Yes Baker will be the starter because of the name. And if he plays bad you guys will blame the OC and say he’s learning a new offense. Baker Mayfield is Garden Michew and we don’t know what Kyle Trask is. To be honest I’m tired of this meadicorey you guys are celebrating a 17-17 team now let that sink in. You guys would choose Matt Flin over Russell Wilson or Alex Smith over Patrick Mahomes. Lol 🤣🤣

  67. Usfbuc Says:

Also agree with and remember Joe posting his position on the QB battle last year because it was the same opinion as mine. BM would have to be a dumpster fire and Trask would have to be playing like he was Brady 2.0 to get the start.

  68. Oneilbuc Says:

That’s why they shouldn’t give Trask first team reps because it’s a strong possibility he will out play Baker Mayfield.

  69. Diamond Danny Canyon Says:

Looks to me that you guys have another case of Baker Hatin-Itis. Give it up. Baker can take you guys ALL THE way if you give him a descent running game. You’ll win 12 games while my Browns wait for a hurting Watts-His-Name to come back from still another injury. By the way: Where’s the guy who said “Baker will lose desire as the year moves on ?” NOT Where’s the guy who said, ” Baker has a limited arm? ” NOT Where’s the guy who said, ” Baker can’t move.?” NOT.
I’ll take him back and give you Watts-His-Name. Somethings NEVER Change, AND, Some people NEVER learn. Diamond Danny Canyon. And oh ya. This is NOT a statement from his agent. This is just the truth.

  70. Oneilbuc Says:

Diamond. Baker couldn’t do anything in Cleveland and they had a way better roster than us . They had the o line the defense and 2 good runningbacks with good receivers and a good TE. The Browns lost every time they put the game in his hands to win. It’s a lot of games they would have won in Cleveland if they would have just ran the ball. But they wanted Baker to be the reason why they won and they lost every time. Baker Mayfield is a game manger if they just let him be a game manger than my bucs could probably win and get to the NFC championship game.

  71. Bucblind Says:

Oh stats can definitely lie if you don’t know the context of them

  72. Bucblind Says:

    E-L-E-V-A-T-I-O-N

  73. Bucblind Says:

Bakers playoff passer rating of 106.3 is plenty good enough to win a superbowl. It’s been won with an 85, so…
And if you actually believe statistics don’t lie you really don’t understand how they work. The saying of “statistics lie and liars use statistics” is a very true saying.

  74. Joe Says:

The training camp from last year proved that Trask was better for if you take the last names off the back of the jersey number 2 would have been the starter according to the play on the field.

Still beating that crazy drum. Once again, Bowles WAS NOT going to risk his career with a guy who only threw four passes in his career. What don’t you understand about this?

Did it look like Bowles made a mistake? If Bowles would bench Mayfield he’d lose the locker room.

But keep on thinking Kyle Trask is Joe Montana.

Oh, and since Trask was so good, how come Licht never got one phone call about Trask in a quarterback hungry league?

    You just don’t learn.

  75. Bucblind Says:

Let’s not forget Baker beat Mahomes twice in college. Mahomes never beat Baker. Baker had to throw 7 touchdowns and almost 600 yards to beat him in 2017 but he beat him nonetheless. Baker won the Heisman in 2017 and was third in heisman voting in 2016, not Mahomes. He has all the talent needed to win a superbowl it has just been almost beat out of him by years of all that goes with being on the worst teams in the league. It will begin to re-emerge this coming year 2024.

  76. Bucblind Says:

It’s funny how you guys try to put doubt in people’s minds by continually repeating the “fact” that Trask out played Baker. Do you really think that is even a possibility? If it was they would have never went outside and hired another qb. They would have promoted him from within after Brady left. But they didn’t, they went out and got another qb that all the experts said would never be a starter in the NFL again. That’s all we need to know about Kyle Trask and his talent. He will most likely never get the nod as a starter, sorry.

  77. Oneilbuc Says:

Joe. The reason why he didn’t get calls was because their is no game tape on Trask. And I don’t think no one believes he’s Montana because we still don’t know what he is. The one thing we do know he was better than Baker Mayfield last year in training camp. And you can say what you want but the facts are the facts. Again you would have said the same thing if we would have had Alex Smith and Patrick Mahomes or Matt Flin and Russell Wilson you guys would have chosen Alex Smith and Matt Flin over Russell Wilson and Patrick Mahomes. And what do that tell you about Baker Mayfield a guy who started for 4 different teams couldn’t out play a guy with no experience? Lol 🤣🤣 let that sink in!!

  78. Oneilbuc Says:

We have Garden Michew at quarterback and the only way you win with quarterbacks like that is you have to take the game out of their hands to win. But I know the coaching staff will try to make Baker Mayfield win the game and that means he will be throwing 40 times a game and that will be the downfall of the bucs. I will be getting ready for the 2025 draft class by mid October if they have Baker Mayfield throwing that many times a game .

  79. Joe in Michigan Says:

Oneilbuc: Why are you badmouthing Mayfield and Minshew? Do you realize those guys have actually won NFL games with their teams, unlike Trask?

  80. Jeffs grandpa Says:

Joes trolling the Trask Brigayde early this year

  81. Marky Mark Says:

Onielbuc…Now I know Baker is a business decision not a football decisions
Which is it one decision or many? Can you share your secret phone cam footage showing the Glazers and others stating this? Just speculating of course but if they were trying to save money they would cut Baker loose and turn things over to a cheaper Trask and a draft pick..

  82. WiseCrack Says:

Everyone should agree. The last 4-5 games saved Baker and Todds jobs.
3 games of which Baker had less then acceptable performances BUT the DEFENCE CLEARLY WON for us.

Don’t hate on the people who look at that and say. Who is are back up QB and HC heading into this year. Oh ok it’s that Trask guy THAT WE DRAFTED to sit behind Brady and Blain for a couple THREE YEARS.

Todd is not to blame for Trask not starting. Baker being a free agent is. SOOOO, the situation is 100+ out of Kyles control. Anyone bashing him should think twice about defending Baker.

Kyle being on the Roster allowed the Bucs to take a RISK on Baker. Otherwise, they would have drafted a QB and let Baker go the way of journeyman QB somewhere else.

No Bucs fan is saying start Kyle over Baker at this point. We are just hoping the rope is not to long. Baker did not earn a longer rope last year. Just a fatter contract.

  83. Doc Says:

Joe in Michigan: Why are you badmouthing Trask? Do you not realize he has never actually played with the starters, unlike Mayfield and Minshew?

  84. Doc Says:

Joe: “Since Trask was so good, how come Licht never got one phone call about Trask in a quarterback hungry league?”

Because there is no tape of him? The kid has never played with the starters, not even in the f’n PRESEASON! How about you writing one less article sucking up to Mayfield and write one about the Bucs grossly mismanaging their second round quarterback?

  85. Doc Says:

For the record, here is what Joe wrote after 2023 training camp had ended and the Bucs were into their preseason games:

AUGUST 13 2023 – “For Trask to get the QB1 gig, Joe believes, he had to out-practice/play Mayfield by a lot. He outplayed Mayfield a little in training camp.”

AUGUST 15 2023 – “Trask was out-practicing Mayfield. Not by a lot, but a little. Not enough to be knighted the Bucs starter if the two were competing based solely on their play.”

Mayfield was gifted the starting job. He broke .500 on the season thanks to our field goal kicker. I don’t know on what basis Joe can assume that had Trask rightly won the starting job he could not have gone .500 too, just like Baker.

  86. Capt.Tim Says:

I heard some random person thought Trask out played Mayfield today.
Obviously, this means he should start!

  87. Bucblind Says:

There’s no tape? He played college didn’t he? If college tape got Baker a #1 draft pick why in the world, if he’s that good, would it not get him a better job than never playing? Please explain

  88. Bucblind Says:

You people are on crack, truly.

  89. Bucblind Says:

You act like you know what people think, but you dont.

  90. Bucblind Says:

106.3 passer rating in playoffs-4th highest in the league plenty good enough to win the superbowl. What do you people want? Mahomes only threw for 100.3 last year.
It’s the college group again isn’t it. Well Trask will never beat out a healthy Baker. Thats why Baker was drafted so high he beat Mahomes twice and Trask has no good film in college.

  91. Bucblind Says:

Apparently the Glazers, Licht and Bowels ALL agree Baker be da man!!!
And yall are all just flappin in this humid Florida breeze. Get a job

  92. Doc Says:

Bucblind Says: “There’s no tape? He played college didn’t he?”

After years of you and your fellow Trask-hating FSU bois saying college means nothing now it does? You can’t make this up. LMAO

  93. Bucblind Says:

You keep quoting people that have something called an “opinion” that Trask supposedly played better than Baker. Those exact same people that had an “opinion” that Mr Clutch would never start in the NFL again and then he elevates Tampa Bay to win over twice as many games as they were suppose to and goes 2 deep into the playoffs while producing the 4th best passer rating in the league. There is no talking to you people. You care nothing about results only that your guy gets them even if they are less, which they obviously would be according to the Glazers, Licht and Bowles. Never mind I forgot, you know more than they do, sorry for stepping on your all know toes.

  94. Bucblind Says:

Onei, I hate to break it to you but opinions aren’t facts, they are opinions.

  95. Bucblind Says:

Maybe that’s the problem here, you haters think words mean something other than their true meaning. Just a thought. This happens a lot on here ya know?

Joe in Michigan: Why are you badmouthing Trask? Do you not realize he has never actually played with the starters, unlike Mayfield and Minshew?
    ^^^^^^^^
How am I “badmouthing” Trask? Are facts hurtful to you? The fact is Trask hasn’t done what Mayfield and Minshew have done, won NFL games that they started in. I hope Trask is good, if he’s ever needed.

  97. bill Says:

i have about gottin sick of the mayfield is a bum script. I can pick out one game last year that mayfield won but the Bucs lost and for those of you who laude the defense you need to rewatch some of those games that were lost in the fourth quarter, but i will point out the houston game where the defense was not even on the field in the last quarter. Get real here its a team game and a lot of blame is placed on one man who by the way played a key roll in making the experts eat their words as they won a divison they were sposed to place last in. GO BUCS

  98. Oneilbuc Says:

Bucbuild . Well I never made one opinion about Kyle Trask and Baker Mayfield in training camp last year. That’s been proven Doc just showed you the facts but I get it you guys are Baker fans and most of y’all will be gone once he leaves just like the Brady fan base.

  99. EJ Says:

Just for the record, the Browns defensive rankings for points allowed during Mayfield’s 4 years were 21,20,21,13, hardly the great defense that some are claiming he enjoyed.

  100. Joe Says:

i have about gottin sick of the mayfield is a bum script.

The only people pushing that wear orange and blue jammies at night. They are not Bucs fans. They probably aren’t NFL fans.

  101. Doc Says:

Joe Says: “The only people pushing that wear orange and blue jammies at night. They are not Bucs fans.”

And the only people pushing hatred for a kid who hasn’t played wear garnet and gold jammies at night, and yet to Joe they’re Bucs fans. That tells you right there who Joe cheers for on Saturdays.

  102. Bucblind Says:

Doc, there you go again, including everyone in your erroneous statement. I’ve never said college means nothing. In fact, as usual, your statement couldnt be more wrong. I have talked a lot about Baker beating Mahomes twice in college and how he came very close to winning the Heisman TWICE in 2016 & 2017. Look it up. How he threw 7 touchdowns and almost 600 yards in one game to beat Mahomes. How Baker, in college owned the passer rating his senior year. Out of ALL the hundreds of qb that played in college Baker had the best passing game. How people always misread his abilities and because of that he is the only walk-on to ever win the Heisman. Shall I go on about how bad your statement is concerning I say college doesn’t mean anything, because there is more? You guys are doing what Baker has had done to him his whole career from high school on and he just keeps proving you experts wrong. That is why we like him as much as we do, he is the quentissential underdog and in 2024 he is going to make all you haters eat your words. How in the world can you not like someone that has had to fight for everything they get and they do? I guess you guys are the type that likes the spoiled brat that gets everything handed to him on a silver platter. You guys are so close minded that you can’t admitt how he has been on the absolutely worst teams and how he has had severe injuries and how that just might have affected his stats. All you people do is vehemently scream yeah look at his stats he’s terrible. Well like I said get ready to eat some crow because there is going to be a feast in a couple of months and you all are invited.

  103. Bucblind Says:

Hey Doc I cant recall anyone say anything about “hating” Kyle Trask. On the other hand concerning Baker, well…
I think 99% respect Kyle Trask and saying he’s limited isn’t hating him. Hatred huh? Wow

  104. Bucblind Says:

Onei What’s been “proven”? Remember opinions arent facts, that’s important going forward.

  105. Oneilbuc Says:

Man y’all used that word hate every time someone criticize a player who you like. I don’t think the people on this site hates Baker Mayfield or any other player in the NFL. I said it before and I will say it again the only way to win with Baker is to let him be a game manger and not the main reason why we win or lose. But some of y’all act like Baker Mayfield is a elite quarterback and I don’t care how you feel about that he’s far from being elite. Lol 🤣🤣 but what I do know is this we ain’t going to hear anything else about Trask out playing Baker in this year’s training camp from Joe lol 🤣🤣. Watch and see they have to promote Baker Mayfield and I get it. So we have to wait and see what happens when the season starts with Baker Mayfield. And by the way the saints is not our rival the falcons are the saints rival.

    Capt.Tim Says:

I heard some random person thought Trask out played Mayfield today.
Obviously, this means he should start!
Same guy who stated Wolford was an NFL caliber QB. Wolford is hot garbage in the 1st degree, so you have no say on this matter Sir!

  107. Marky Mark Says:

This year there is no learning curve. Baker played for Coen at LAR. It won,t take all year to gel.if he stays healthy he will be better, faster, and longer.

  108. Oneilbuc Says:

Bill . They won a division with the same record as the saints 9-8 . When are guys are going to stop celebrating meadicorey is the real question. The bucs are 17 -17 the past 2 years that’s not good. Baker Mayfield is who he is at this point of his career. I don’t give a quarterback credit for playing bad for 3 quarters and with about the last 3 minutes of the game he pad his stats. That’s not a good game at all and you can’t give him credit for that!! But I can definitely name some games that Baker didn’t play good at all. The bucs need to draft a quarterback in the first round next year. They have to stop letting Trask practice with the starters or Joe has to stop telling everything what’s going on in practice because it’s crazy hearing that Trask was playing better than our 6 year veteran quarterback who started every year and he’s looking worse than a guy with no experience. The real bucs fans want the best players on the field we don’t care about who’s the most popular player. But I know Joe will never report that again like he did last training camp you know what’s really going on field. Lol 🤣🤣 watch and see it’s going to be mostly negative about Trask and all positive about Baker Mayfield watch and see lol 🤣🤣

  109. Bucblind Says:

Onei you lol a lot for someone that can’t back up what you say/claim.

  110. Doc Says:

Oneilbuc Says: “I don’t give a quarterback credit for playing bad for 3 quarters”

You look at things the right way. Joe and the Baker Bois look at things the wrong way: ignoring a .500 record in the NFL’s worst division; ignoring stats repeatedly padded late in games against prevent defenses; ignoring picks with a playoff game on the line; etc. Nothing matters when it comes to the Cult of Baker!

Oneilbuc Says: “They have to stop letting Trask practice with the starters”

Wouldn’t surprise me. Bowles can’t risk Joe writing another two articles saying that Trask outplayed Mayfield in training camp.

  111. Bucblind Says:

Your boy just isn’t good enough. He didn’t win a Heisman, he had zero records coming out of college, he didn’t win any championships, he sure didnt beat Mahomes twice by throwing 7 touchdowns and 600 yards and apparently he doesn’t have any film good enough for other pro teams to view. So just settle back and enjoy seeing him every Sunday carry Bakers clipboard for the next 10 years. The bright side is he gets to be around Baker. All is right in the universe.

  112. Ethan Says:

You guys with the trask bs are stupid asf that’s all this page is stfu it’s mayfields team you to oneilbuc stfu idiot

  113. Bucblind Says:

If he pays real close attention he will learn that even if you spend the first 6 years of your career on the worst teams the league has to offer you can still elevate their play/records while you’re there. Very few qbs have done that and that would be a skill Kyle could learn that might help him out later in his career.

  114. Oneilbuc Says:

    Bucbuild. I have prove it we won 8 games and lost 9 in 2022 . In 2023 we won 9 games and lost 8 that’s 17-17 .

  115. Oneilbuc Says:

Bucbuclind. Baker had a good team around him in Cleveland and we know now the Browns tanked to get him . He had a good o line and 2 good runningbacks with good receivers and a good defense. He also had a good TE so this notion that Baker didn’t have good players is a lie. My push back with Cleveland was it was games that the could have won by just running ball and they try and throw the ball with Baker Mayfield and they will lose every time. That’s why you have to let Baker just mange the game because Baker Mayfield can’t put a offense on his back and go win games .

  116. Oneilbuc Says:

Ethan. You must be one of fan boys because I’ve never seen you on this site. I know the truth hurts all of fan boys. Lol 😂😂 and according to the runningbacks we have their going to put the offense on Baker Mayfield back to and that leads to loses. And I’m already waiting to hear it’s Bowles fault, it’s a new offense, and he has a new OC just like last year when we went on a 6 game losing streak and Baker was bad in 5 of them. Again 35 tds with 10 picks and not in garbage time and Baker should be our franchise quarterback . Or at least play like Jerry Golf will be all good for me but if plays like he did last year the bucs must draft a quarterback in the first round. And then I know all you Baker fan boys will be gone just like the Brady fan boys left.

  117. Bucblind Says:

All YOUR opinion and only you care about that onei

  118. Bucblind Says:

Baker has the $100 million contract, Baker starts and Baker elevates even the worst teams the league has to offer, end of story.

Also agree with and remember Joe posting his position on the QB battle last year because it was the same opinion as mine.

    ______________________________________________________

It wasn’t a matter of Joe giving his opinion. He gave us play by play results throughout training camp. Almost every throw made by BM and KT. Quite honestly, he said KT looked a little better but the BM was going to get the nod because of KT’s lack of experience.

When did this happen? I know you’re not referring to 2020 when Cleveland had two of the best RB’s and defenses in the league

  121. Bucblind Says:

Yeah I’m referring to now, his first experience with a good organization. But let’s, all 3 of you on this site that are delusional, pretend that being on a team that was 4-44 the 3 years before Baker showed up and had won zero games in the last 19 games played 0-19 wouldnt affect Tom Bradys play. Let’s pretend Baker didn’t play half the season with a fractured shoulder and completely torn labrum. Let’s pretend by Mahomes being on one of the very best teams since being drafted hasn’t helped him at all. Let’s pretend that in spite all that Baker didn’t have a better passer rating than Mahomes during the playoffs. Let’s pretend Baker isnt rated 4th in the nfl with that 106.3 passer rating. Let’s pretend that’s not enough to win a superbowl. Does that make you boys feel better? You just don’t like Baker and all the facts and reality does nothing for you. So pretend away boys, yall are very good at it.

  122. Bucblind Says:

There is no winning over you Baker haters with logic, it just won’t happen. So I’ll say this, I just saw an article in the Pweter Report it said “Baker has won over the entire city”. 😂😂 Chew on that boys.

  123. Bucblind Says:

    He’s my dawg

  124. Bucblind Says:

    Onei, who is Jerry Golf??
