NFL Draft Night 2, Open Thread

April 26th, 2024

Bucs GM Jason Licht.

So here we are. Night 2 has begun of this three-day NFL holiday weekend. Who will the Bucs pick? Can’t be an edge rusher. Maybe a corner? Maybe a receiver? How about a left guard? Bang it here all night. And as always, Joe asks kindly, do play nice.

  6. Bobby M. Says:

We’ve got several areas of need….confident we’ll snag a contributor in rd 2, it’s a pretty deep draft of prospects.

  7. StickinUp4Centers Says:

Dang Falcons. Was hoping he would be available for the Bucs.

  8. Mr. Editor Says:

    You like that!

  9. MadMax Says:

Hope we trade up for a play maker

  14. Usedtocould Says:

Sweet baby Jesus please deliver us another all pro in this sweet, sweet, second round!

  15. Scotty Mack Says:

Glad to see the Falcons take the guy whose last name sounds like George Jetson’s dog, Astro, trying to say “oh, oh”. He’s a project pick. That’s two picks in a row of guys that the Bucs don’t have to worry about.

  16. Jerseybuc Says:

Falcons just messing it all up trading up for DT could of had way later

  17. MadMax Says:

    WR Polk is gone

  18. DoooshLaRue Says:

If we stay put I’m good with RB Bensen or CB Melton if JL can’t find a DT before they’re gone.

Be ready…ADISA ISAAC might be one of our picks.

  20. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

I think I would take Basketball Jones from East West North Dakota State.
Why? Cause he got a “basketball jones.”

  21. Rod Munch Says:

I really hope our upcoming draft pick proves to be not just a stellar athlete but a paragon of virtues, ascending far beyond the mere expectations of skill and sportsmanship. May he embody an exceptional blend of ethical fortitude and moral grandeur, setting new standards of excellence both on and off the field. Through his profound commitment and exemplary character, may he not only meet the historic legacy of our team but elevate it to unprecedented heights, inspiring both teammates and fans alike.

  22. Zman Says:

Both C will go soon. Maybe Trice will fall, but I doubt it.

  23. MadMax Says:

jeeze, Sweat went faster than i thought

  24. Marlo Says:

Trade up get jpj to solidify the line for years.

  25. DS Says:

Please get one of these WRs Adonai Mitchell or Troy Franklin

  26. Mr. Editor Says:

I can’t wait to see Atlanta’s next pick. They are the talk of the draft, and not in a good way.

  27. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Preach Brother Rod, Preach!!! God is sooooooooooo funking good!

  28. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

Hoping for LG, RB, WR tonight. Bowels may have a stroke though.

  29. MadMax Says:

    Mitchell has health issues, sorry

  30. ManzielMadness Says:

Falcons give up a 3rd and don’t take the best DT available 🤣

  31. StickinUp4Centers Says:

    Dang Rams!

  32. MadMax Says:

green bay coming up….there goes Dejean

  33. MadMax Says:

    Dejean gone

  34. MadMax Says:

DODO BIRDS GONNA BE STOUT AT CB!

  35. DoooshLaRue Says:

    Lay off the AI Munch.
Your dumb azzz didn’t come up with those profundities.
    🙄

  36. MadMax Says:

birds gonna be stout at CB

  37. HA-HA-HA Says:

Don’t over draft, but need to grab a wide receiver.

  38. Dewey Selmon Says:

Hoping Phil stole DeJean from the Saints. we’ll never know

  39. Marlo Says:

Agreed doosh. I think he thought that was impressive.

  40. IE Buc Says:

Glad Kool aid is gone. Hoping for CB or guard. CB Rakestraw or Frazier for guard.

  41. MadMax Says:

    Aints traded up for koolaid

  42. Mr. Editor Says:

The Aints can drink some Kool Aid!

  43. Dewey Selmon Says:

There are some outstanding LB’s still on the board. Edgerrin Cooper should be gone soon

  44. Tony marks Says:

Further testimony to how much trash mock’s are. every other mock had us taking Kool aid in the first.

  45. Irishmist Says:

    Saints drinking the Kool Aide.

  46. Bucsfantim Says:

Actually hate seeing Saints get Kool-Aid.

Hope we could get Mike Sainristril later tonight

  47. CallTheSaltTruck Says:

I’m thinking Melton or TJ Tampa if we go CB, or Jonah Ellis if EDGE.

  48. IE Buc Says:

Mike Evans and Palmer can burn Kool Aid all day.

  49. DoooshLaRue Says:

Saints be dranking dat Purple Drank.

  50. Dewey Selmon Says:

Would Licht double down on OL and take Guard Cooper Beebe?

  51. dmatt Says:

Let’s grab Utah’s Jonah Ellis in round two. He would be a steal. 12 sacks last year n balled out against Gators, USC Trojans, n Washington. He’s relentless and he never quit on plays, something that Devin White, JTS, n yes, urs truly, JDean are known to do when the game gets tough. If the three mentioned don’t have a desire to keep playing till the play is over such as their teammate, AWinfield, then they never will. They are, or were there only to do the bare minimum, PERIOD.

  52. Rod Munch Says:

NFL Memes tweeted, “A white corner named Cooper being drafted a pick before a black corner named Kool-Aid might be the wildest turn of events in sporting history”

  53. Bucsalltheway Says:

Our next pick has to be magical all these good players flying off the shelf

  54. Mr. Editor Says:

Not many LBs being taken. If that holds by the time the Bucs pick, they can get a potential successor for LVD.

  55. DoooshLaRue Says:

Holy sh!t the Redskins got a ton of freaking picks.

  56. Rod Munch Says:

Your claim misattributes the origins of my discourse; it is an erroneous presumption. The expressions in question are indeed a product of my own intellectual endeavor, not the result of artificial augmentation. One might find solace in attributing such depth to technology, yet this underestimates the complexity of my brain and profundity. As Chris Meyers often highlights, true insight derives from relentless inquiry, not mere technological facilitation.

    Word to your mother.

  57. CallTheSaltTruck Says:

Lol, so much for Melton. Feels like a reach for the Cardinals in that spot, but such is the draft, XD.

  58. MadMax Says:

    POWERS GONE

  59. IE Buc Says:

There goes Melton. The only other CBs I hope falls to us is Rakestraw or CB Tampa for Tampa.

  60. MadMax Says:

If we can get Payton Wilson….YES

  61. StickinUp4Centers Says:

    Dang Cardinals!

  62. Hopein1hand… Says:

I wouldn’t mind the Bucs doubling up on a position to address their most grievous weakness with a guy named Cooper like the Iggles did. Cooper Bebee of course. Christian Haynes would be welcome as well. I can’t believe I’m typing this but if Benson is there I would prefer him over either of those boss hoss guards. Going RB so early seems like sacrilege but the Bucs run game and obsession with it is that bad. I’d go with another Cooper over all three though. That’s be Edgerrin of course. I think I like Malachi Corley most of all for this round.

  63. infomeplease Says:

Take best available… WR, CB, Edge… Won’t be long now! LFG!!

  64. Hopein1hand… Says:

Well- there goes E. Coooper. So much for a stud linebacker. The rest of this class are all two down guys except for Trevon Wallace but he is green and wet behind the ears. I guess him in the fourth hopefully. LiB is the most urgent need after RB.

  65. Dewey Selmon Says:

Pretty sure Will Gholston is announcing our 2nd round pick

  66. Mr. Editor Says:

Can’t wait to see the Nature Boy! Whoooooooo!!!!!

  67. DoooshLaRue Says:

Rod “Vanwinkle” Munch ladies and gentlemen.

Anywho, back to REALITY and the draft.

  68. MadMax Says:

Haha, we got this nfc south….carol just traded up for a RB

  69. Shep Barnard Says:

    Trey Benson please

  70. Bucsnutt Says:

Looks like Canales is trying to get his own R. White with the pick of J. Brooks.

  71. Mr. Editor Says:

Tiki is STILL mad at the Giants.

  72. Hopein1hand… Says:

There is that other LB who is fantastic but made of glass. I wrote him off on injuries from day one. He belongs with the Cowboys where he can continue their tradition of pale face LBs who are amazing players but can’t stay on the field. Maybe they can strip down Sean Lee and Leighton Vanderesch for enough spare parts to keep that cat on the field for a full season?

  73. Mr. Editor Says:

Tony Khan has a neck brace?! Shad looks so disappointed.

  74. SB Says:

Why are we picking 57th vs. 52nd?

  75. SB Says:

    Shep Barnard Says:
    April 26th, 2024 at 8:18 pm
    Trey Benson please

    That or Ray Rice

  76. SB~LV Says:

57 has always been the number

  77. Rod Munch Says:

Tony Khan took a pile driver from Luke Perry’s son.

That’s what you do when you don’t have a dad to raise you right.

  78. SB~LV Says:

Back in the day the picks were announced shortly after being turned in and then the talking heads would back track and give the players their few minutes of fame.
The draft is way way over produced!

  79. Zman Says:

These 3rd rounders better be good, cause we are missing out on some players and needs. Man JL, you could have traded up for a DB here.

  80. Addb Says:

Holy crap the rest of the NFC South is competing for worst draft 😂😂😂

  81. SB Says:

    I just figured 26 x 2 was 52

  82. Dew Says:

    Payton Wilson

  83. Usedtocould Says:

Sweet baby Licht, please draft a pro bowler

  84. SB Says:

Holy crap the rest of the NFC South is competing for worst draft 😂😂😂

Carolina has done well so far. THANK GOD they took the wrong QB last yr

  85. StickinUp4Centers Says:

SB, there are 32 teams, each one gets a pick. it would be 26+32. But then sometimes teams with tied records alternate who goes first every round. Add in the comp picks in the later rounds and it becomes hectic to track.

  86. Hopein1hand… Says:

The Comanches took Sainristil, dang it. Do you think Mariota will sell him #0? He might need the money. I can’t believe after all the fervor over the #1 overall in 2015. Winston is a forgotten back-up for the Browns and Mariota is the same for the Comanches. No one predicted that dual outcome. It a good thing the Bucs tanked for that choice.

  87. Dewey Selmon Says:

Braswell from Alabama would be a good edge at this point.

  88. Semineer Says:

57 is the 25th pick of Round 2.

  89. MadMax Says:

    Frazier gone

  90. DoooshLaRue Says:

    ______

Everything is now…… and filtered through a flattering lens.
    It’s quite sickening.

  91. SB Says:

Am I seeing this right that Adonai Mitchel is still on the board?

  92. Rod Munch Says:

Hopein1hand – No Winston, No Brady, No Super Bowl.

Amazing how many low IQ bad takes we see in the comments.

Why are we picking 57th vs. 52nd?

The 57th pick is the 25th pick in the 2nd round.

  94. MadMax Says:

Payton just might fall to us YES!

  95. Semineer Says:

I can see Edge, CB, or RB with our next pick. I’d be happy with any of them. Best available between the three would be nice.

  96. SB Says:

57 is the 25th pick of Round 2.

    LOL I quit drinking a month ago. Maybe I shouldn’t have. 🙂

  97. MadMax Says:

    Mitchell will drop….health issues

  98. Semineer Says:

I don’t see ILB or G as high of a priority at this point in the draft.

  99. Semineer Says:

SB, I’ll have a few for ya buddy.

  100. geno711 Says:

No edges taken in 2nd round so far.

  101. MadMax Says:

    Mitchell to colts

  102. Buckeyebuckchuck Says:

Licht’s superpower, he doesn’t follow the herd. Saw a run on WR, then DT, then CB….Big Jase gonna follow his board and get the best player to build his team. Dude has it going on. The coaches name the traits they want, Licht and the scouts deliver A+ results

  103. Zman Says:

    Junior Colson?

  104. Dewey Selmon Says:

Has there been a TE picked yet?

  105. SB Says:

I knew he wouldn’t last till us Max.

  106. Mr. Editor Says:

    Great point, geno!

  107. MadMax Says:

    TE Sinnot gone

  108. SB Says:

Thank you Semineer. I would appreciate it. Have one for me every time ! Even if I am a Gatorbuc

  109. SB Says:

I can’t say that name in my original spelling. That name got banned about 8 years ago.

  110. TheBigSombreo Says:

Low key… I would like us to draft TJ Tampa…. just because of the fit!

  111. MadMax Says:

All good…Payton Wilson still there 🙂

  112. Buckeyebuckchuck Says:

Bralen Trice wouldn’t surprise me R2

  113. Capt.Tim Says:

We lost 5 starters. Ryan Jensen, Carlton Davis, Devon White, Shaq Barrett, and Aaron Stennie.
    Also lost Stennies Backup

We repaced Carlton Davis in House last year. Zyon McCollum played the most defensive snaps of any Cb.
we replaced either Jensen or Stennie last night.

That leaves 3 starters to replace. DE, LB, and either guard or Center
    We have 3 picks tonight
    Voila!

    Beebe or Braswell?

  114. SB Says:

    Me too Sombrero!

  115. Mr. Editor Says:

We now know that the Aints will be playing zone defense.

  116. SB Says:

    gatrbuc

  117. SB Says:

LOL just seeing if you Still have my old handle baned

  118. Buckeyebuckchuck Says:

Gonna hit LB hard soon. Lost a lot with Shaq and DW

  119. Joe Says:

The Commandos are killing this draft.

  120. Dewey Selmon Says:

    NFL legend Carl Nassib lol

  121. MadMax Says:

    LB Payton Wilson PLEASE

  122. Bucsfantim Says:

Gotta be honest I’m so sad Commanders picked Sarinstil 🙁

Come on Licht. Make a move

  123. TheBigSombreo Says:

    TJ Tampa!!! Just because!

    Not a reach!

    lol

  124. Mr. Editor Says:

Loved that guy in The Breakfast Club.

  125. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Doesn’t look like we trade up. I’m confident we won’t trade down. Let’s go! Would like a can’t miss an Edge, or a WR, or a can’t miss RB, or a CB or a DT……….

  126. SB Says:

    Thank you Joe!

  127. Mr. Editor Says:

    Wilson and Colson are possibilities.

    Haha. Deal!

  129. TheBigSombreo Says:

I’m gonna keep saying TJ Tampa until the Bucs pic…

  130. Dewey Selmon Says:

Tampa would be a solid pick

  131. Dewey Selmon Says:

TJ Tampa would be an awesome jersey

  132. Hopein1hand… Says:

Watch the Cowgirls draft that LB right here. I will laugh out of my seat.

  133. BucsBeast Says:

I have no clue what they do.
    I’d like an TE,HB, MLB,WR,Edge

  134. MadMax Says:

Wilsons injury history is the only reason hes dropped….I say go for it!

  135. Jugheadfla Says:

Rakestraw is still there as well

  136. Dubcity Says:

They still need a Guard. Hoping for the top Guard.

  137. Mr. Editor Says:

Very good value on the defensive side of the ball.

  138. DoooshLaRue Says:

I think we gotta take Payton Wilson here if Dallas doesn’t get him first.

  139. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

    Maybe Kneeland?

  140. TheBigSombreo Says:

TJ Tampa would be an instant fan favorite…. you know someone in the draft room at least brought it up

  141. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Benson would be a great pick!!!!

  142. George R Says:

will go to break when the Bucs pick

  143. Mr. Editor Says:

Just bypass the Cowgirls and let the Bucs pick. God forbid they cut to a commercial during their pick.

  144. infomeplease Says:

    Go Bucs!!

  145. MadMax Says:

    cowgirls took kneeland

Just bypass the Cowgirls and let the Bucs pick. God forbid they cut to a commercial during their pick.

    Like they did last night?

  148. Mr. Editor Says:

Does all of this give the Bucs more time on the clock?

  149. Capt.Tim Says:

Always nervous with 2nd round picks. We ussually go off the rails in the 2nd round

  150. geno711 Says:

    Braswell from Alabama the pick.

  151. MadMax Says:

    BRASWELL, Ill take that too!

  152. Dubcity Says:

^^ no.. as soon as the “pick is in” the clock starts for the next team

  153. infomeplease Says:

    We could have used Kneeland

  154. Capt.Tim Says:

    Issac? Beebe? Bortelli?

  155. BucsBeast Says:

    Dang pick is in already.
    Thinking HB or G

  156. Hearty Dikerson Says:

    I’m guessing Troy Franklin

  157. MadMax Says:

I was pushing for us to get Braswell but was talked down by a few guys here, so I stopped. But guess what, we got him!

  158. geno711 Says:

A one-year starter at Alabama, Braswell played the JACK outside linebacker position in former coach Nick Saban’s hybrid 3 -4 scheme, lining up in two-
and three-point stances. After playing in the Tide’s cheetah package in 2022, he took over Will Anderson Jr.’s role in 2023 and led the SEC in pressures (56), one ahead of his teammate, Dallas Turner (55). Both as a pass rusher and run defender, Braswell has a rugged, high -effort play demeanor and uses his aggressive reach/hands to bully blockers or set hard edges. He has explosive flashes, but he often stalls out at the top of his rush and needs to expand the ways he wins as a pass rusher. Overall, Braswell is slightly undersized and still a work in progress in several areas, but his first-step quickness and ability to convert speed to power are solid starting points for a developmental pass rusher.

  159. Olboy Says:

Braswell more of a project than turnkwy

  160. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

It’s amazing how every fun#ing draft station goes to a commercial when the
    Bucs pick.

  161. TheBigSombreo Says:

TJ Tampa is from St Pete…. 6’2″ CB… lol… doing a lil last second researching just to say I already knew!

  162. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Troy Franklin would be a great pick!

  163. Barbosa Says:

Love how ESPN always goes to commercial on the Bucs picks!!!!!! Make them walk the plank!!!!

  164. Curse of Gruden Says:

    So true, Alvin!

  165. Will Says:

Damn commercials before our pick. Just like last night. Smh

  166. All_da_way Says:

Braswell is the new starting edge opposite of Diaby unless JTS has a come to Jesus moment.

  167. HA-HA-HA Says:

    Yup, went to break.

  168. SB Says:

We are like Rodney Dangerfield. RIP

  169. Admiral Redbeard Says:

Once again, pick is in, so let’s go to commercial break. F U NFL!!!

  170. Simeon4HOF Says:

I’m all fairness I was thinking the thing earlier….lol

  172. Marlo Says:

Tj tampa .. seems right why not

  173. Mr. Editor Says:

Yes, the 2nd round has been tough for the Bucs, but remember that the team drafted Myron Lewis in the third.

  174. Bucsfantim Says:

They ALWAYS go to commercial for our picks!

  175. unbelievable Says:

I told y’all this ish last night.

ALWAYS goes to commercial for our picks

  176. Simeon4HOF Says:

    Isaac or Braswell plz?? ..

  177. geno711 Says:

two-time member of Bruce Feldman’s “Freaks List” (clocked at 21.9 mph and squatted 705 pounds).

  178. TheBigSombreo Says:

    Nice pick!

  179. MadMax Says:

I watch youtube channels, bleacher report….no commercials, cut that ish out years ago lol

  180. Simeon4HOF Says:

    There’s our Edge!!¡

  181. SB Says:

    There we go.

  182. Capt.Tim Says:

    Yes! Smart pick

  184. Simeon4HOF Says:

Time to have fun .. hopefully RB2 WR Rd 3

  185. MadMax Says:

    YES BRASWELLLLLL!!!!! I love it!

  186. CallTheSaltTruck Says:

Chris Braswell, SEC edge. I liked Ellis, but I didn’t think a lot of the other Edge guys would still be there. Braswell is a solid pick for sure.

  187. infomeplease Says:

    So far so good!!!

  188. Irishmist Says:

Someone hand Joe a towel please.

  189. BamaNBucs Says:

    Great pick with Braswell

  190. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

If he’s good enough for Nick Saban, he’s good enough for me.

  191. Simeon4HOF Says:

Tyg Joe. Take it easy man now lol

  192. Statistically Insignificant Reader Says:

Trying Hard Shoyinka be pouting now.

  193. Tbbucs3 Says:

This is a project draft pick….needs to work on pass rush explosion

  194. Hopein1hand… Says:

I dislike this selection. He is a developmental project with a ceiling as a two down player. He can’t play the run at all. He can’t cover at all. The tradition of tossing second round picks in the bay is back. (string of cuss words followed with a sigh of dejection.)

  195. SB Says:

Benson or Rice in the Third please.
Would be ok with Corum too

  196. Mostly Peaceful Trask Fan Says:

    This was the pick

  197. Semineer Says:

Great round 1 and 2 picks. I’m pleased!

  198. HA-HA-HA Says:

NFL Network went to break just as the Buccaneers went to pick.
    They also skipped Green Bay.
Showing as “taped delay” and said it was live.

  199. Conner50 Says:

Love the picks so far got more beef up front on both sides of the ball! Glad Dallas grabbed Kneeland and we didn’t I think Braswell is more solid and in front with his game anyhow. Let’s go Tampa

  200. Simeon4HOF Says:

Joe bout to post 4 articles about Edge. Hope he happy. Edge value wasn’t there by the time we picked in Rd1. Maybe Joe will tear up that Hainsey poster and replace it with Barton now lol

  201. Tbbucs3 Says:

Also gonna have to get weight up, 250 aint gonna cut it

  202. Simeon4HOF Says:

Best lick was always C Rd 1 Edge 2 .. Great great job Licht!!!!!!

  203. Tim Says:

NFL.com grades him as a high level starter. Rotational year one, starter year 2.

  204. Simeon4HOF Says:

Time to Jazz up our Offensive weapons in Rd 3. And we didn’t have to trade up!

  205. MadMax Says:

Now to get Estime….Bullard went right after Braswell.

  206. Tbbucs3 Says:

Next lets either get a corner or a REAL WR3

    Also need a RB2

  207. Simeon4HOF Says:

Go Bucs. 2 Biggest holes filled. Tampa Bay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  208. SB Says:

    Rb

  209. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Perfect pick. Guy runs just short of 30 mph.

    Every player is a project.

  210. Capt.Tim Says:

We are having a fantastic draft so far! Hitting the spots of Critical need.
We will be a dangerous team again next year

  211. IE Buc Says:

I would like to see us trade up in the early 3rd for a CB or inside LB.

  212. Jugheadfla Says:

Micah parsons is 6’3″ 245, Braswell is 6’3″ 251….why will 250 not cut it?

  213. BamaBucc Says:

    Wwwoooooooo hooooooo

He’s a way under rated guy especially in the trenches. He’s got a mean streak and a sideline to sideline guy. The difference between him and Dallas was he wad better at calling formations and as a stand up LB. This pick was a steal for Licht

  214. Mostly Peaceful Trask Fan Says:

    RB in round 3.

This draft is breaking right for the Bucs

  215. Brandon Jeff Says:

    @BigSombrero,
We can probably get TJ Tampa later as no other team will want to have a player on their team with the last name Tampa.

  216. Semineer Says:

CB/RB in 3? Or LB in place of one?

  217. MadMax Says:

Payton Wilson or Trotter jr would be nice next too.

  218. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

This guy might play edge, or he might be the heir to Lavante

  219. SB Says:

    Good point Brandonjeff

  220. Capt Ahab Says:

Braswell? It’s a hope and a dream, a total pick with a prayer for need. Payton, Colson, Coreley and perhaps Tampa has a higher percentage of success in my opinion. I understand the need for a pass rusher, high stakes gamble in my opinion. Hope it works out.

  221. SB Says:

Anyone know what picks we have in the third? I know we have two but I don’t know when.

  222. IE Buc Says:

TJ Tampa will be gone by the first 10 picks of the 3rd. We need to trade up to get him or Rakestraw.

  223. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Now I suspect we’ll trade up.

  224. IE Buc Says:

Damn Rakestraw gone. Tough draft for Carlton Davis. Love it.

  225. MadMax Says:

    89 and 92 i think…let me see

  226. MadMax Says:

    yep 89, 92, then 125

  227. SB Says:

Shoot that is too far away Max
Call light and tell him to move up.

  228. MadMax Says:

I know….wish I had his number…we have to do it here lol

  229. MadMax Says:

Payton Wilson, Estime, ……Trotter jr (if we miss on Payton)

  230. Simeon4HOF Says:

Tampa falling and us taking him would be amazing. Would love that, long as we get an RB2 that is a top one soon as well

  231. Simeon4HOF Says:

Rd 3 bout to be very interesting ..

  232. MadMax Says:

    Licht….you here bro, right?

I dislike this selection. He is a developmental project with a ceiling as a two down player. He can’t play the run at all. He can’t cover at all. The tradition of tossing second round picks in the bay is back. (string of cuss words followed with a sigh of dejection.)

Seriously, I’d like to hear more about your thoughts on this. Any specific games or plays worth watching?

  234. Simeon4HOF Says:

JL killing the draft as e usually mostly does. He on a roll this year ..

    Licht….you here bro, right?

    LOL

  236. Simeon4HOF Says:

JL definitely been on here in recent weeks lol. I like Trotter too MadMax. Long as we get a high quality RB2 and WR somewhere, now that our holes filled .. idc how he does it from here lol

  237. Simeon4HOF Says:

    Sup JL

  238. Usfbuc Says:

Most of these players need development even some of the players taken in the first round. He filled a position where we wanted to improve. Hopefully he will do that for us.

  239. Capt Ahab Says:

Lance Zierlein says he has a ceiling as a good 3-4 backup
Or average designated pass rusher with core special teams value.
Not sure Lance has all the answers but looking online at the best available, he was way down the list. Looks like a huge reach.

  240. unbelievable Says:

    Sup Jason?

    Lol

  241. MadMax Says:

There you are… 🙂 under SB lol

  242. MadMax Says:

Im here….thats all that counts minions 😉

  243. Simeon4HOF Says:

Ì ain’t Licht lol .. Thought MadMax was. Jus sayin to JL whoever he is ..
    Waaaassssuuuup!!!!!!

  244. Simeon4HOF Says:

Amen to that lol. Works for me 😂😂

  245. Capt Ahab Says:

Jets just got a productive player in Coreley, The Bucs took a project with Braswell.

  246. Simeon4HOF Says:

    MadMax JL for real lololol

  247. MadMax Says:

Jason gonna be jumping in the pool tonight….hopefully he gets a pic of it and posts it.

  248. MadMax Says:

I just want to work for them as a scout….where do i apply? one Buc place or something?

  249. Semineer Says:

Ahab, stay on the ship. Things are going well.

  250. Simeon4HOF Says:

😂😂😂😂😂 .. MadMax off the hook. JL definitely jumping in the pool tonight, on a cool April Night … hdnc

  251. MadMax Says:

    ^ you know it

  252. Simeon4HOF Says:

MadMax you JL can just hire yourself lol

  253. Usfbuc Says:

These draft experts have shown they know nothing time and time again. Braswell put up stats last season just slightly less than Dallas Turner and that’s coming from the non blindside where the QB is more likely to see him coming. Dallas Turner was playing with the advantage of coming for the QB from his blindside.

  254. unbelievable Says:

No way Tampa is lasting to us, is there?

  255. MadMax Says:

Eh, i wish…wheres my check from the Glazers lol

  256. MadMax Says:

Payton Wilson still dropping to us….and then we get Estime.

  257. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Javon Baker in the third round. Brandon Marshall without the mental illness.

  258. SB Says:

If Tampa makes it to us I am ordering a Jersey Immediately.

  259. unbelievable Says:

They’ve probably got room for you… biggest coaching staff and all that…

  260. unbelievable Says:

    LOL SB

  261. MadMax Says:

@unbe, thanks….my resume has been here for the past 8 years.

  262. SB Says:

I would love to be a Scout or something along those lines but I can never live in a big city again. Not even Tampa. I’d go Nuts.

  263. Simeon4HOF Says:

I’d love to work for them too … Looking at our Roster and identifying key holes and how to build been my #1 hobby since 2000

  264. MadMax Says:

I live in a mid size city…greenville SC….owned this condo for 27 years now. Its great. I love big cities as long as they’re not too liberal.

  265. Simeon4HOF Says:

MadMax does have a name handle JL would sure use tho hmmm lol

  266. MadMax Says:

Yeah, its a lovely hobby 🙂

  267. MadMax Says:

No way Tampa is lasting to us, is there?

Unless other teams are thinking….. nah it just aint right. He belongs to them at birth.

  270. Usfbuc Says:

If the Bucs draft Tampa we have to hope he becomes a stud CB that would be a sweet story. Played high school ball in the area, then comes to us as a pro and locks down our secondary.

  271. Simeon4HOF Says:

    That’s what’s up. I remember you I used to be 99 55 47 20

  272. MadMax Says:

    NICE!

  273. Simeon4HOF Says:

Go Bucs. This the fun Rd. Ty Carlton Davis for the extra pick. We got it in a trade for bout 10 pounds of that gizzzazzx that shall not be blazed on a Fri and Sat b4 the game lol

I always wondered what those numbers represented even back when I was gatr-buc

  275. Simeon4HOF Says:

Let’s get it JL … Whatcha got up your sleeve ..

  276. SB Says:

C’mon Joe! You just let me post it without a dash in between. What’s up.

  277. Bucfan1988 Says:

Dayummmm, Panthers snagged Trevon Wallace, that Kentucky LB…

  279. StickinUp4Centers Says:

Now I’m holding on to a slim pray 97 makes it one day. Lol. That’s cool man. I remember you gator buc. Been on this site since they founded it. Just wasn’t commenting until recent years years.

  285. Simeon4HOF Says:

Getting closer to our 2 picks ..

  286. Capt Ahab Says:

    Semineer,
On the ship since 1976. Old timer here.

  287. unbelievable Says:

LOL I live in a huge city, somewhat liberal, mostly just expensive af (San Diego)

Love it here though. 1 block from the beach. Hard to beat. But I have been considering going somewhere smaller (originally from Vermont)

  288. Capt.Tim Says:

I cant believe we have people wanting to draft a kid, because he is named Tampa.
    God help us all

  289. SB Says:

I am really praying for Simeon to make it as well. He has all the stats.
Keen eye btw. Not many people make the connection to my name now to my old handle.

  290. MadMax Says:

^Great weather there….a close friend of mine grew up in san diego

  291. SB Says:

UB. I live at the West Entrance to Yellowstone Nat Park. The Skiing, Snowboarding, Snowmobiling Hunting and Fishing is off the charts. Great place to raise a kid.

  292. BucsBeast Says:

What are we thinking with the next pick?
    I’d like a RB,MLB,TE

  293. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Simeon Rice AND Hardy Nickerson both belong in the HOF.

  294. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Javon Baker with 89. He is Brandon Marshall without the mental illness.

  295. Simeon4HOF Says:

Yes Hardy too .. you are absolutely right. Only reason they not is along the same reasons they almost always go to a commercial during our picks lol

  296. Dewey Selmon Says:

WR,RB,CB,LB Really need a RB to help White.

  297. CallTheSaltTruck Says:

@Capt.Tim To be fair, it’s also because he’s a good CB. He’s currently the highest rated remaining CB on PFF’s big board.

  298. MadMax Says:

LA got corum…all good….Estime still there

  299. Dewey Selmon Says:

Rams just took the RB I wanted

  300. Simeon4HOF Says:

Man I hope we get Estime Bro

  301. Marlo Says:

Can we trade up already to get Tampa or what ??

  302. SB Says:

    I want Rice over Estime.

  303. MadMax Says:

Yeah lets get Estime, then Payton or Moh Kamara

  304. SB Says:

Meant Davis………..LOL I don’t think Ray Rice plays anymore

  305. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Maybe trade one of the two third rounders for a couple of fourth rounders ? Way things are going, there is a lot of value picks sliding from the third to the fourth.

  306. Capt.Tim Says:

Mason McCormack. Adisa Isaac, Tonor Bortelli, Jalyx Hunt. .
So many great options on the board

  307. Dewey Selmon Says:

we have one 4th (125) and then basically nothing until rd7. last pick of rd 6. These next to picks are critical.

  308. MadMax Says:

Here we go…Payton or Estime or Kamara

  309. Simeon4HOF Says:

Lots of talent sliding true ..

  310. TheBigSombreo Says:

Guess who’s still on the board….. TJ Tampa. Lets go TB… I want his Bucs Jersey

  311. infomeplease Says:

    Won’t be long now…

  312. Proudbucsfan Says:

    Peyton Wilson please 🙏

  313. Simeon4HOF Says:

Dewey Selmon always on point, lots of great ideas from everyone here. And mb on the typos sometimes .. just started needing reading glasses jus sayin lol. Just wish I had more time to study prospects these days as I used to. Learn so much from the true vet Bucs fans along the way in the comments

  314. MadMax Says:

    rb loyd to green bay

  315. geno711 Says:

    Tykee smith to Bucs

  316. MadMax Says:

    we’re up…Payton or Estime

  317. Simeon4HOF Says:

There went Dallas .. only 1 more day until Jerry Jones declares them bois the next Champs lol

  318. Rusty Shackleford Says:

I wouldn’t mind see us trading one of these third rounders for a couple of 4th round picks. I think a few really good value picks might slide from the 3rd to the 4th, maybe even Tampa and Javon Baker.

  319. David Says:

    LB Wilson NCST???

As long as his injuries are good, he is a beast

One of the CBs? Kid from Missouri and Iowa State are there

At this point, personally, I think Troy Franklin, wide receiver, Oregon, might be the best value, all depends on Wilson’s injuries

  320. Rusty Shackleford Says:

    Tykee Smith ? Ok.

  321. Capt.Tim Says:

    Adaisa Isaac or Mason McCormick

  322. CallTheSaltTruck Says:

    Tykee Smith, Safety. Interesting.

  323. TheBigSombreo Says:

    Georgia player, solid!

  324. David Says:

Nickel DB, can’t go wrong, selecting anyone from Georgia.

  325. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Was Jason Licht in the crapper and he let an intern make this pick ?

  326. MadMax Says:

    Safety…yeah, I’ll take it..need DB help

  327. infomeplease Says:

So far so good. This boy can hit!!

  328. Capt.Tim Says:

Well, knew we’d f it up sooner or later

  329. MadMax Says:

Trust me, we needed an infusion back there….

  330. Simeon4HOF Says:

Welp there is our DB. Secondary set. Todd Bowles pick I suspect

  331. shak Says:

almost on the clock again and who is tykee?

  332. Rusty Shackleford Says:

If Javon Baker and/or TJ Tampa are still available in the middle of the 4th, I’m going to be pissed.

  333. MadMax Says:

    Now Estime or Wilson

  334. Dewey Selmon Says:

day 1 plug and play nickel back. we got another starter

  335. BucsFan81 Says:

Damn this better not mean they can’t get a deal done with Winfield. We already had the best safety duo in the league with whitehead and Winfield

  336. geno711 Says:

Smith played the most snaps of his career in 2023, and the results were a dominant fifth-year campaign, as a 73.3 run-defense grade, 70.3 tackling grade, 83.1 pass-rush grade and 85.8 coverage grade culminated in a career-best 84.0 PFF overall grade.

Smith’s calling card is his versatility. Despite being listed as a safety, he primarily lined up as a slot cornerback and appeared at linebacker, outside cornerback and near the line of scrimmage.

  337. David Says:

A very intelligent center from Duke, an edge and a DB from Bama and Georgia, I am liking it!!!
These are football savvy players with an awesome foundation because of the programs they were at.

  338. CallTheSaltTruck Says:

“NFL teams that like to stack the box and be more aggressive on the line of scrimmage will be drawn to Smith’s power when setting the edge in run defense. Ultimately, his lack of long speed could cause him issues in coverage.”

From PFF’s evaluation. Huh. Sounds like a rotational piece.

  339. MadMax Says:

    here we go….on the clock

  340. MadMax Says:

    Wilson or Estime please

  341. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Bucs will probably go speed WR next and take Troy Franklin.

  342. SB~LV Says:

Next pick will be very interesting

  343. Simeon4HOF Says:

Yea we needed that 4 sure. Like the pick a lot. But I hope Bowles knows we need to draft some Offense next 2 picks

  344. Tony marks Says:

Yeah this one I dunno. Didn’t see that coming

  345. geno711 Says:

STRENGTHS: Well-developed frame with solid muscularity … controlled mover and stays balanced in his movement patterns … keeps one eye locked on the backfield and anticipates well … competes with a physical appetite for contact … urgent downhill as a blitzer and run defender (8.5 tackles for loss in 2023) … uncoils as a striker for aggressive tackles without sacrificing his technique … showed improved finishing skills as a tackler on the 2023 tape … o pportunistic ball skills to capitalize on passes thrown his direction … described as “unselfish” and a player who will do anything he is asked, according to head coach Kirby Smart … p layed all four special- teams coverages (420 career special-teams snaps) over the last two seasons at Georgia (Smart: “He’s elite at kickoff return.”).

  346. David Says:

    Geno

I thought maybe LB or CB, I didn’t look at safeties, was thinking CB, but essentially they looked at all DBs to find the best nickel.

Love it, but most of all I am loving that they got an Intelligence center from Duke, and the other two players are from Bama and Georgia.
Hard to go wrong with that.

If you drafted nothing but Alabama & Georgia players over the last seven years you’d be in the playoffs- yearly

  347. Rusty Shackleford Says:

    Troy Franklin, Oregon. My guess.

  348. MadMax Says:

    Here we go….ESTIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  349. Simeon4HOF Says:

    There’s the commercial again lolol.

  350. David Says:

    Rusty!
    I would love that picK

Linebacker Wilson from NC State would also be good

  351. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Who are these low t-cell count ballsniffers on ESPN ? Lol. Lot’s of soy.

  352. unbelievable Says:

Hmmm okay. Guess we do need depth at safety. Good pedigree.

@SB – I have been to that area twice. It is insanely beautiful!

  353. Simeon4HOF Says:

    It’s time for Estime JL.

  354. Usfbuc Says:

Deal will get with Winfield. smith completes the depth for our secondary

  355. Proudbucsfan Says:

We totally reached for Tykee Smith bad pick for our 3rd

  356. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Bucs pick a WR from the now-defunct Pac-12. Just not the one I had in mind.

  357. geno711 Says:

did not see this guy in the 3rd round. But Bowles knows what he likes.
Smith led the Bulldogs in tackles (70), tackles for loss (8.5) and interceptions (four)

  358. MadMax Says:

    WR Mcmillan….ok

  359. Rusty Shackleford Says:

A slow tall reciever with no upside. WTH ?

  360. CallTheSaltTruck Says:

    Jalen McMillan, there’s the Wideout.

  361. SB~LV Says:

    GOODWIN 2.0

  362. TheBigSombreo Says:

    Solid pick ar WR.

    Love all of TBs picks

  363. Bucsfan339 Says:

    WHYYY NOT TJ TAMPA???

  364. Tbbucs3 Says:

    Kenny Bell 2.0

  365. Simeon4HOF Says:

Twg. WR set. Have our top 4 locked in. Kinda gad a hunch JL would take a RB lil later. CB this high was a Bowels idea.

  366. Usfbuc Says:

Jalen McMillan a CG replacement if he leaves in FA next year it looks like

  367. Tim Says:

Rusty… slow and tall you say? This is Godwin 2.0, plug and play slot receiver. Will be awesome year 1.

  368. unbelievable Says:

I like the WR, assuming no injury concerns.

  369. David Says:

Don’t know him, but in LICHT we trust.

    Center
    Edge
    DB
    WR

    Like it!!

  370. CallTheSaltTruck Says:

“Washington continued to prioritize McMillan in its passing attack, even with players like Rome Odunze and Ja’Lynn Polkon the roster. His nuances give him a high floor as a WR2/3.”

High floor WR2/3 sounds like what we would want.

  371. BucVoyager Says:

It’s the 3rd round. You are not going to see 6′ 5″ burners with monster hands here

  372. Rusty Shackleford Says:

For all we know, TJ Tampa and Javon Baker may still be there in the 5th, lol.

  373. MadMax Says:

he wasnt on my radar because i can only dedicate so much time….but hitting WR is good…now we need Estime!Dammmit

  374. Dubcity Says:

Safety and WR are the Bucs strongest position groups… and they added more pieces to it… meanwhile the running game is the weakest in the NFL year after year… I can lie I disliked this draft overall, but hoping these guys pan out

  375. All_da_way Says:

Bucs took care of business tonight. Edge help, versatile DB and a true slot WR.

    Well done Licht.

  376. Simeon4HOF Says:

Atleast Secondary plenished. And that is a very good WR. But he a drafted a lil high. And we still definitely need a RB. Bowles … look man lol .. we do not need another defensive player until we have an RB2 Sir

  377. infomeplease Says:

    Should be a fun season…

  378. Rusty Shackleford Says:

For all we know, TJ Tampa and Javon Baker may still be there in the 4th round tomorrow.

  379. Nirobe Says:

Tykee could work as a ILB?

  380. Usfbuc Says:

His description kind of sounds like exactly what you want in a slot receiver. Don’t need him to necessarily be a burner he needs to find space and have reliable hands

  381. MadMax Says:

So we’re done till tomorrow….that sucks, oh well

  382. Canabuc Says:

    McMillan is 6 goot 1 and ran a 4.46 40

Very Godwin esque. Good route runner

  383. SB Says:

If you ever get up here again UB I will give you a personal tour.

  384. Buchen61 Says:

Still have vomit in my mouth from the tykee pick…5th rounder ???

  385. Simeon4HOF Says:

Mean the S drafted a lil high. So happy bout the WR. But bright side is all we need is RB2 and depth. Bucs are loaded now. Awesome.

  386. CallTheSaltTruck Says:

Given Franklin was still on the board, have to trust that Licht got the Oregon WR he thought was the best.

  387. SB Says:

Out for the night guys. Peace out and GO BUCS!!

  388. Proudbucsfan Says:

I don’t like either of our third round picks wasted we could have gotten them in the 6th and 7th

  389. unbelievable Says:

@SB – appreciate the offer brother! I will absolutely let you know.

  390. Simeon4HOF Says:

Yea S pick was all Bowles. He does that lol

  391. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Now watch either Estime, Javon Baker, and/or TJ Tampa still be available tomorrow. It could all still work out.

  392. Tim Says:

Lol; we absolutely couldn’t get either guys in the 6th. Heavy rotational pieces year one, will see the field a lot. Expect Smith to be in the field in passing downs as LB #2 or nickel #2 besides Izien.

    Dubcity says:

Safety and WR are the Bucs strongest position groups… and they added more pieces to it… meanwhile the running game is the weakest in the NFL year after year… I can lie I disliked this draft overall, but hoping these guys pan out

    Couldn’t agree more…l

  394. Tim Says:

And McMillan is from Washington, not Oregon. Learn some balll…

  395. jarrett Says:

GOOD DRAFT WE ADDRESS SOME AREAS OF NEED AND GOT BETTER

THIS TEAM NEEDS WAYYYYYY MORE EXPLOSIVE WEAPONS

  396. Saskbucs Says:

Don’t mind the 3rd round picks but surprised a bit. Thought Franklin WR and TJ Tampa CB would be nice picks but in JL I trust. I wonder why Franklin seems to be sliding.

  397. Proudbucsfan Says:

We should have drafted a guard, what are we doing drafting a special teamer in the 3rd round,Tykee smith is at best a backup. 🤮

  398. Usfbuc Says:

Hoping we land a solid LB tomorrow

  399. Hopein1hand… Says:

Welp, tonight was a compound let down. It went off like a wet fart. These aren’t BPA picks. They are Bowles fetish picks and an overrated receiver there is no room for with how much this team runs, which they are worst at in the league for two years straight. I’m not done with Bowles and Rashad White by any stretch but I’m tempering my expectations and don’t enjoy consuming this game anywhere near as much as I did for decades when I was perfectly content expecting them to suck. I’d rather a team that sucks entertainingly well. Not this. Curse Mayfield for sharing his spark.

  400. Proudbucsfan Says:

Tim what makes you think they will put Tykee Smith at LB he’s way to small about 3” to short and about 25/30 pounds to lite he is going to be a special teamer and back up nickel to Izien. They most definitely could have gotten him in the 5th to 6th range

  401. Mr. Editor Says:

You might say that we had a Whalen of a catch! Long time Bucs fans will understand the reference.

  402. Rusty Shackleford Says:

If Tykee Smith can play a bit of corner, we can use him as a “floater” in the secondary kinda like Ronde used to be.

  403. Brandon Jeff Says:

I was thinking we are two drafts away from being a complete team. We did well this draft I believe in filling our biggest needs. Next year‘s draft should be for some explosive players and depth.
