Logan Hall Ordered To “Add To The Party”

April 30th, 2024

Bucs defensive lineman Logan Hall.

There’s a veteran defensive lineman of Bucs past (2017) that was was roundly criticized for being an overweight oaf of a clown teammate who was just looking to cash a check.

Joe’s referring to Chris “Swaggy” Baker. Did Baker contribute more than starting defensive tackle Logan Hall did last season for Tampa Bay?

You can look it up and decide. And turn on the film.

Hall plays hard and is in good shape, but he’s not getting the job done to its fullest.

Buccaneers defensive line coach Kacy Rodgers laid it on the line today at One Buc Palace.

“He’s just got to finish plays,” Rodgers said of Hall. the Bucs’ second-round draft pick in 2022. “He’s right there but he hasn’t been able to finish. That’s the biggest thing we’re stressing. And what I’m beating him up with this Year 3 is kinda, ‘You ain’t thinkin’ about mental errors anymore because you know the system. You’ve been in it. It ain’t changed that much. Now it’s finishing plays because you got other guys that’s next to you that can finish. Now you got to add to the party.”

Joe loved the candor, which reminded Joe of exactly what coaches were saying about Joe Tryon-Shoyinka this time last year.

Got some Keith McCants and others who just getting to the NFL was enough, ain’t got that fire in the belly
and that is something that can not be coached.

  2. Bucnjim Says:

The hardest job of any GM is separating the check cashers from the Pros. When you are beat up by mid-season you need to love the game to continue to be successful.

  3. BA’s Red Pen Says:

    Logan Who can’t play.

  4. Buc4evr Says:

Not violent or explosive, can’t use leverage, doesn’t bend, not relentless. Once an O lineman gets his hands on him, he’s done. Sorry, he’s just another JTS to me. Neither one of these guys should be on the team, waste of money and time.

  5. All_da_way Says:

I have to agree that if you don’t have that fire in the belly as a defensive player you are never going to have it.

Diaby has an edge about him that screamed this as a rookie. Braswell looks like he is ready to violently collide with OL every snap. T. Smith looks like he wants to hit someone on every play like Tanard Jackson and these are rookies that haven’t even played a snap of pro football yet.

Hell JTS shows more fire than Hall out there…sometimes….

Hall has too much talent to be so pedestrian and outplayed by Greene and the former Buc O’Connor. Or old man Gholston.

And if that undrafted free agent Judge Culpepper sticks and shows more that will be a bad look for Hall.

  6. zzbucs Says:

Seriously you compare Hall to Baker??? No way…

Problem with Baker is expectations, they were high because it was pick 33…He didin´t perform well immedietly, but I think the second half last year was realy good……Makes me opitmistic about him……

  7. SlyPirate Says:

    Let’s go, Logan!

We’re all down on Hall and JTS but we’re thinking the wrong way. What happens to this team if one or both emerge? We become a dominant team. Let’s hope the lightbulb comes on.

JTS lead the team in sacks for most of the year. The problem was he just didn’t keep it up.

  8. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I hate to think it but it looks like Logan Hall & JTS are busts…….this year will spell it out for both.

  9. Dave Pear Says:

JTS, Logan Hall, Diva White, Carlton Davis, Jamel Dean, even Vita Bea.

None have gotten better. They all have either regressed or plateaued. What is the common denominator?

    Todd Bowels.

The myth that he’s a player developer is shattered by facts and actual events.

  10. Alstott to Canton Says:

    Dave pear
Vita Vea hasn’t regressed or plateaued he just has double teams every game and hasn’t had much help from the rest of the dline. I think Kancey in his second year will complement Vea much better

  11. Derek Says:

Logan Hall has to be the most invisible 33rd pick ever. Barely makes any plays, seems like he never talks to the media, or talks at all

  12. J Says:

Vita Vea plateaued? Did you run out of Crisco for your door knob, Dave Pear?

  13. PewterStiffArm Says:

It’s amazing how we forget about Logan Hall, a big body that has talent. He needs to find that talent yesterday. Hopefully in his third year he can introduce himself to production. A scheme that eludes a lot of college prospects.

  14. BUCman Says:

Hall was a swing and a miss from the beginning. I hated the pick from day one and his performance has been exactly as I expected. I could see from my couch what he was going to be. How does a group of professional scouts and front office people completely miss the obvious. They had in there mind they wanted a DT with pass rush ability and he was the closest thing to that. They traded back to the second round because they knew he wasn’t first round talent. They took him in the second round with fingers and toes crossed hoping that he would be what they were looking for. Hopefully this is a lesson learned and they don’t try to fill a need regardless of available talent.

  15. Capt.Tim Says:

Oooh, so thats why hes been useless!
Noone had ordered him to contribute!

    Whew, glad we fixed that!,

  17. Piccalo Says:

If they don’t produce in college why do ppl think they are going to get to the league and produce. Nothing about his tape says high draft pick, nor does his energy scream I love the game. Another Jason Licht Round 1 Round 2 miss,

1st:JTS,Devin White,OJ Coward,Vernon Hargraves and his entire draft class
    2nd:ASJ,Ronald Jones,M.J. Stewart,Roberto Aguayo,Noah Spence, now Logan Hall

These are suppose to be starters in the NFL

  18. Babygrace Says:

I haven’t given up on Hall yet. I remember how poorly Warren Sapp played his first 2 years and then broke out his 3rd year and became the best DT in football.

  19. Greg Says:

I would wonder, with their emphasis on character guys, if the Bucs would have passed on Sapp. It’s something they need to look at I think. He did pick up Suh in FA so I am no doubt way off but there does seem to be a pattern.

(Please note: I am a huge fan of Suh).

Hopefully, they got the DE position right this time with Braswell. I am somewhat optimistic.

  20. Larrd Says:

The Bucs should have taken Karlaftis instead of trading down that year. However, Hall has been a very young starter on a decent defense and he’ll only get better the next five years. They should extend him cheap soon!

  21. Proudbucsfan Says:

Hall and JTS are going to be out of the NFL by next season, two bust’s. How many fans were already putting them in the ring of honor when they were drafted? I didn’t like either of those draft picks and they haven’t done anything. The NFL is to much for both of them.

  22. Dave Pear Says:

    Look up Vita’s stats. Plateau.

Find me the game changing plays — someone of his talent and potential should be making.

He’s one of my favorite players and it’s clear he’s being left alone to “do what he do” instead of being coached on how to be the most dominant interior D-lineman in the game.

He could be. Dungy once told Sapp he could be one of the greatest of all time. Sapp took it to heart.

Bowels should say that to Vita. But he won’t.

Mr. Todd. Player life counselor and really good guy.

  23. unbelievable Says:

    Is Rodgers a good coach?

Has there been any meaningful development for JTS or Hall under him?

  24. Woodenman Says:

There they are 2 loudest idiots on here Capt. Tim and Dave Pear. Tell us some more Capt. about how Tykee Smith sucks and he won’t make the team.

  25. Capt.Tim Says:

    Babygrace,
What are you talking about? Warren Sapp started 14 games in 19996- his second year.
He had NINE SACKS in his second Season!
Logan Hall had .5 sacks last year.
One half sack, in a whole season.

Im speechless that you think those are similar.

  26. Capt.Tim Says:

    Woodenman.
I havent seen you voice an opinion or a thought.
    Only troll other posters.
    Worst kind of internet scumtrolls.

  27. HC Grover Says:

Ya cant win em all. Dump Plan 9 and Hall.

  28. Woodenman Says:

That is because you only pay attention to your own voice. My opion is you are an idiot who gives uninformed opions now tells your opion on Tykee and you came to it.

  29. BillyBucco Says:

Ate you trying to peel onions or spell opinion?

  30. garro Says:

The guy beefed up a bit last year and played a different role in the defense. He looked better at times but still could not quite get the job done consistently. It’s tough in the middle. Hope he has continued to bulk up and arrives this year. Go for it Mr Hall!

    Go Bucs!

  31. RagingBrisket Says:

Yet another high round player being fitted for title of “Bust” in the Jason Licht Hall of Shame!
