Morning Cup Of Joe

March 29th, 2024

Welcome to your Morning Cup of Joe, an eye-opener to help Joe’s readers ease into their busy workday with a few football links, wacky news and a pleasant distraction.

Distraction of the Day

Fetching Colleen Wolfe apologizes for getting the Jets mad. But she still says she’s right. Was she forced to apologize by the NFL? Remember, the NFL Network is the league’s house organ, owned by NFL owners. [PFT]

Where will Dak Prescott land in 2025? [CBS]

BetMGM releases season-win totals for NFL teams. [Yahoo!]

Draft trades teams should make. [NFL]

The earth has acid reflux. [TikTok]

Pat McAfee begging Bill Belicheat to be on his show weekly this fall. [Awful Announcing]

Johnny Football said if Cowboys had drafted him he’d be dead by now. [TikTok]

Is is absolute nonsense and irresponsible to try to link the Shohei Ohtani gambling scandal to the Supreme Court’s 2018 ruling allowing sports betting. Not only is sports gambling still illegal in California, the bookies allegedly involved in the Ohtani gambling scandal were based in Vegas where sports betting has been legal for decades. The other possible gambling scandals (Temple basketball) officials would have likely never been tipped off if not for legal gambling. Like there weren’t gambling scandals when sports betting was illegal? Just a few years ago Northwestern basketball players got caught shaving points — when sports betting was illegal in Illinois, too. Joe thought the Wall Street Journal was much more responsible than this. #Sad [Wall Street Journal]

Assailant shoots police robot dog after it chased him up the stairs inside the scumbag’s home. Joe knows you can be charged if you harm a police dog but can you be charged if you shoot a police robot dog? Anyone else find this pretty cool that police robot dogs now hunt down hoodlums in their own homes? This would have been an awesome episode of “Cops.” LOL [New York Post]

I can’t imagine how much of a conversation there will be with Bill Belichick on a weekly basis. Pat, AJ, and the rest of them will need to do most of the talking. Replies to their questions will definitely be quietly short unless we see a new Bill. I would rather see Bruce Arians being interviewed weekly than Belichick. Actually, my first thought was possibly the weekly segment being Jon Gruden.

Guessing the Saints for Dak when he becomes a free agent.

I have always liked Johnny. He seems to be turning his life around more and more, and I am very happy to see it.

I’d take that trade with the 49ers. That would give us 6 picks from #31 thru #132.

  3. Lt. Dan Says:

“can you be charged if you shoot a police robot dog” Absolutely. Laws vary from state to state but generally speaking, shooting a robot dog would be classified as “destruction of property” over $500.00 or $1,000.00 in most states = felony. Pretty sure that “dog” cost more than $1,000.00

    Acid reflux
Now THERE’S some serious energy just bubbling up out of the earth. I’d much rather see that utilized than some of these “clean” power sources (solar), the manufacturing of which pollute more than they save in carbon.

These days the feds will show up at your door if you are less than polite to the robot dog on a Facebook post.

Hey Jude FTW! Why does anybody wish to listen to a crank old curmudgeon who acts as if you owe him big time for a couple of words of wisdom.

So yep #1 BB is a boring creep and not broadcasting material. He has ZERO personality…actually ZERO would be an improvement for the hoodied man.

He is perhaps greatest DC to coach in the NFL. Of course he had Parcells leading the team and Lawrence Taylor to wreak havoc. Ironically Lawrence Taylor really wasn’t happy when Bill Parcells named Bill Belichick defensive coordinator of Giants – CBSSports.com.

Belichik makes dour Nick Saban look downright gregarious.

  7. heyjude Says:

Absolutely agree with you stpetebucfan! You said it so much better than I. It’s like they go from one to pretty much the same thing, Saban to Bill. Gloom and doom.

  8. David Says:

Bucs at 7.5? Should 10 BUT the schedule seems real tough.

Wolfe- No journalist should ever apologize if they are reporting the truth

Johnny football!?!?!? Give it a rest. The guy is a washed up bum that no one cares about. Entitled punk who threw it all away (even though everything pointed to him being an NFL bust anyway)

robot dogs and AI…. looking more and more like Skynet. And with left wing lunatics doing the initial programming, it is not going to end well.
