Good pocast. I am OK with any of these QB’s at 26 for the logic laid out.

I like the rankings too. I really like Nix & Penix Jr – maybe over Jayden Daniels even but definitely over McCarthy.

  2. Pickgrin Says:

    So the mandate is…..

If any one of Penix or Nix or McCarthy were to be available at #26 – then the Bucs must abandon their hopes of filling gaping holes at IOL and OLB with high end talent and instead draft a QB in rd 1 this year.

Time will tell if Sean’s prognostication that 6 QBs will be drafted in rd 1 and that all 6 are fully worthy comes to pass.

Even the 1983 draft had its Todd Blackledge….

My guess is – Licht would ignore Sean’s “Mandate” if he were to find himself in that situation – and would work the phones for a trade down till he found a taker for either a nice pkg of extra day 2 picks this year or an extra #1 next year….

High picks are for the trenches this year. Period!

I bet Baker’s $50M guarantee that the Bucs will not be drafting a QB in rd 1 this year….

If we don’t add high end talent to the middle of the Oline and find a good outside pass rusher – then none of the expensive efforts to resign Baker and Evans and LD54 and Winfield and the kicker will matter….

    No more Grace? 😭

  4. Bucben61 Says:

Interesting take but I don’t think the bucs would be willing to use their 1st round pick on a player to sit for multiple seasons…with a solid draft we could be contending for years and I would be content with that

  5. Not Says:

Don’t quit your day job Sean !

  6. Joe in Michigan Says:

Hopefully Licht has learned from his mistakes. Trask was a mistake. I highly doubt the Bucs will take a QB in the first 3 Rounds.

  7. 2023 Surprised the Hell out of me Says:

    I agree 100% pickgrin,
Build the trenches…. win in the trenches
