26 Days Of Partying

February 26th, 2024

Tristan Wirfs

Joe’s taking a break from endless speculation about Bucs free agents.

They all want to come back. They all want to get paid. The answer from the Bucs is always, “Yes,” when it comes to big money for guys they want.

Joe will turn to a less exhausting subject: partying.

Bucs left tackle Tristan Wirfs clearly loves a good alcohol-fueled fun time with friends. Joe learned a lot about that listening to Wirfs on the Men On Melrose podcast.

Wirfs explained that after the Bucs’ Super Bowl win he was in nonstop party mode.

“We stayed in Tampa for 16 days, didn’t know if it was day or night,” Wirfs said of his post-Super Bowl celebration with a former college teammate.

Then it was off to keep the fun going in Iowa.

“It was unbelievable,” Wirfs told co-host and former Iowa receiver Max Cooper, noting he and his buddy drove to Iowa from Tampa and headed to their favorite University of Iowa bar.

“We just convoyed up there and then went like another week and a half [partying,]” Wirfs added, sharing stories of signing autographs and taking pictures.

By Joe’s math, that’s 26 days of partying with a one-day break for a long drive. Damn. Cooper lauded Wirfs for how he can “get after it better than anyone I know.” Wirfs seemed to appreciate the praise.

Later, Wirfs talked about enjoying fun times with Baker Mayfield and Mayfield’s appreciation of Tequila.

Joe can only imagine the party Wirfs throws when he signs his next contract, which is sure to break $100 million guaranteed.

  5. Buc1987 Says:

    Party on Wayne.

  6. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I wish Mayfield could lead us to another ring. Maybe he can. I personally don’t believe he can based on last season, and if he regresses then 2024 will be a wasted year.

  7. Beeej Says:

He downgraded to mebbe an 8 on a scale of 10 in his first year on opposite side, AND he played the last part of the season with a torn thingie. All that taken into account, he did ok. Unsaid, is that him moving to left allowed us to take Donnie’s $15 million salary for Luke’s $1.4 million

  8. Beeej Says:

Argh I read you talking about Wirfs

  9. Leighroy Says:

I imagine it takes A LOT of tequila to get Whirfs drunk – like start at a whole bottle and then keep going.

  10. Allbuccedup Says:

Don’t even think Mayfield could lead us to the NFC championship much less the Superbowl. I mean we could still make the playoffs with him, hes just not a QB to count on for a last minute 80 yard touchdown game after game. I mean Brady, Mahomes types they get the ball last your going to win 95% of the time Mayfield types maybe 40 or 50%. Sorry Mayfield lovers but thats just the way it is, some things never change.

  11. SlyPirate Says:

    QB/WR OBSESSION
We’re so obsessed with our QB and WR, but I think we should obsess about what other teams are doing at QB and WR.

13 QBs and WR could be taken ahead of pick 26!!! That is awesome for the Bucs.
    1. The BPA will be an OL, DE, S or some position of need.
    and/or
    2. One of the top QBs is available and we can trade for a swath of picks. I.E. The Pats may give up the farm for Nix/Penix if they select Marvin Harrison with their #1.

QBs: Williams, Drake, Daniels, JJ, Penix, Nix
WR: Harrison, Nabers, Odunze, Coleman, Thomas, Mitchell, Egbuka

  12. ModHairKen Says:

Wirfs may be one of the greatest players on this league by the time he retires. I hope he cashes in on the next contract.

One of the most enjoyable players to watch on the field. Glad to hear he enjoys his life off of it.

  13. Ricki Says:

    Why driving though ?

  14. Rod Munch Says:

Wirfs is going to be the highest paid offensive lineman in the history of the NFL. That should be quite the party.

  15. Aaron Says:

After his next contract – he’ll be flying back to Iowa (Private) and having his cars shipped!!

    Go Bucs!

  16. bucsnboltsnmanu Says:

Wirfs is a stud. Great pick.

    He’ll be a Buc a long time.

Sign Evans and Mayfield. Tag Winfield.

  17. Bucs Guy Says:

Wirfs and can still party heavily. I’m an old guy now closing in on 60 and I’m lucky to party heavy for one night anymore.

Enjoy it while you can hang kid!

  18. It's Corn Says:

  19. Drunkinybor Says:

I’m a alcoholic been sober for a long time. I was the one who could out drink all the o-lineman in high-school. I was 320 lbs at 16 years old. Old. I grew up in Brandon FL. In the late 80’s early 90s. I hope he just drinks for a good time and not because he has to. Dude is one if my all time favorites of this new Era. Fr9m going to as many A.A. meetings I’ve gone to. I can’t say named but it effects everybody. Judges, cops, fireman, district attorneys, everybody. I would never put my crap on anybody else. But I always worry when I hear the I can outshine everyone because that’s beyond wasted and that’s black out time. He’s. Great guy and has a great head on his shoulders so hopefully he’s aware of the potential downfall. That why my name is drunkinybor cuz everybody knew I was.
