Bucs Sensed Last Week Eagles Were A Wounded Animal

January 16th, 2024

Gameplan.

Joe spoke with a couple of Bucs players off the record in the locker room after the fun playoff win over the Eagles at The Licht House

It seems the Bucs felt if they could hit the Eagles early hard, they had them.

Why was this? Well, the Eagles backdoored into the playoffs losing five of their last six games. Fans and media in Philadelphia were freaking out. Many were wanting Eagles coach Nick Sirianni’s head on a platter. Nothing short of a housecleaning of assistant coaches would suffice.

Well, the Bucs sensed the Eagles were about to quit.

They figured if they could get up early, big, and start to control the clock, the Eagles’ focus would suddenly turn to scantily clad island women, warm beaches and cold fruity drinks at an all-inclusive resort.

Why did the Bucs think this? Well, they went through this themselves, Joe was told.

At one point this season the Bucs had lost six of seven games. Folks were calling for Todd Bowles’ head. It looked like the season was about to circle the drain when the Bucs were able to right the pirate ship.

“It gets in your head,” Joe was told about losing streaks. “You start doubting yourself.”

That’s where they thought the Eagles’ heads were. So the Bucs planned to control the game early and not give the Eagles any hope. And that’s exactly what happened.

When the Eagles started to make a comeback down just 16-9 late in the third when Anthony Nelson forced Jalen Hurts into an intentional grounding penalty in the end zone, which gave the Bucs a safety and the ball right back.

On the second play from scrimmage following the safety, Baker Mayfield hit Trey Palmer with a short pass and Palmer broke a tackle and threw it into overdrive for a 56-yard touchdown and a 25-9 lead.

The Eagles’ heads were in Cancun after that.

6 playoff wins for the Bucs since 2020! Only the chiefs have more. We have a lot of tough playoff veterans on this team.

Nfc east weakest division in football

123 Cancun love it , now its time to remind Detroit who they really are. SOL- same ol Lions will find away to lose to the bus and it wouldn’t surprise me if their dumbass head coach cost them the game going for it on 4 down and passing up field goals when he has points in his hands.

  4. HC Grover Says:

Plan 9 played a great game.

  5. David Says:

    Congrats Bucs,
For blowing out a wounded animal. Let’s see if you can kill a real Lion next week. I predict a blow out loss if we get the poor version of Baker.
Here we go again, all the Baker trash fans want Bucs to re-sign Baker to 3 years $100M after wining one game.

Trash Baker fans be smart. Postpone your request which might get someone attentions if he performs well next week. Otherwise he will be back to his trash mode if he doesn’t play well next week.

  6. Brandon Says:

Yes. JTS definitely showed up and showed out.

Go Bucs! Go Mayfield! LFG!!! #SUPERBOWL !!!

  8. Captain Dan Lawrence Says:

Well, can you believe we have fans still complaining about Baker Mayfield who strapped this team on his back this year? I’ve been a BUCS fan since 1976, and this is as much fun as I’ve ever had watching a win! Keep it rolling BUCS!

    @David

Do you suck on your thumb when you’re proved an idiot?

  10. Shane Callahan Says:

David is a troll. I feel sorry for folks who go on fansites only to hate. Just like I suggested to NE Fan, David, your life has officially become completely pathetic. I suggest you seek professional help. For real; no joke.

First time I have ever seen fans of a team put bags on their heads in the middle of a playoff game. Eagles fans are a rare breed. Not sure why you would fork out good money to go to a playoff game and bring grocery bags with you knowing your team was going to lose so your body could be on TV wearing a grocery bag on your head. Watched it for years with the Aints when they were bad but never thought I would ever see it during a playoff game.

  12. Leighroy Says:

I feel sorry for you David. Your momma must not have told you she loved you enough.

  13. Hammerhead Says:

Lions fans wanted to play the Bucs because they were easier. Some
wanted the Eagles because of ex HC Patricia.

Lion fans certainly didn’t want a strong team visiting them.

  14. rickym Says:

The lions quit on HC Patricia. Made Stafford ask for a trade.
The Patriots quit on OC Patricia. Made Mac Jones berate him mid game.
The Eagles quit on DC Patricia. Made tackling an option.

It was obvious the Eagles were not interested in playing this game at all. Replacing the DC with Patricia mid season turned a 10-1 super bowl contender into the mess you saw last night. NFL players not SUDDENLY forget how to tackle.

Very happy for Mayfield and the Bucs as they deserved this win. The Bucs played hard for their coaches. The Eagles did not.
