Bring On The Eagles!

January 1st, 2024

It’s become clear to Joe that the Bucs’ only hoping of winning a playoff game is tied to them facing a reeling club.

The football gods appear to have handed that to Tampa Bay.

The Eagles have lost four of their last five games, including at home to Arizona yesterday, to plummet from a 10-1 record to 11-5. The loss to the Cardinals knocked Philadelphia out of first place in the NFC East with just one game to play.

The Eagles must beat the New York Giants on Sunday and the Dallas Cowboys need to lose to Washington for Philadelphia to win the NFC East and secure the No. 2 seed. Otherwise, the Eagles will hit the road to play the NFC South champion on Wild Card Weekend.

Joe expects that team to be the Bucs after Tampa Bay beats down the miserable 2-14 Panthers on Sunday in Charlotte.

Carolina is one of the worst teams of this generation, averaging 12 1/2 points through their last 10 games and in their last five games. (They’ve become very consistent.)

Joe very satisfied by the Eagles’ 35-31 loss yesterday. In a game the Eagles desperately needed, their defense did not show up. Arizona ran the ball down their throat for 221 yards on just 40 carries.

Of course, the Bucs can’t win running the ball like that, but Tampa Bay has shown it can beat struggling teams this season. So hope remains alive for a special January, unless you’re in the camp of fans rooting for NFL Draft position.

You kiddin me? One and done. Quick and painless for our no rushing pass Defense Bucs.

  2. Rover Says:

When is the last time this defense of ours scored. They literally are just out there letting the inevitable happen. As sure as sh*t stinks, there will be a 3rd down completion without a defender even close. Fire those at the helm of this tragic debacle. Go Bucs!

  3. HC Grover Says:

That would be an interesting game with a lot of Buc History.

  4. Armybucsfan Says:

He eagles will have a field day with our secondary. Just look at what the saints did to us and they don’t even have the offensive firepower that the eagles do. All we can hope for is a quick and painless death.

  5. BUCS SQUAT Says:

And the temperature will be 95 degrees in the shade

  6. Colonel Angus Says:

Bucs are the get right team. Look for the Eagles to get right Wild Card weekend. Hope I’m wrong though.

  7. D Cone Says:

3 of 4 Philly losses were SF, Dallas, and Seattle. Lost to a 4-11 team yesterday.
Did the 2-14 Panthers close up shop or they playing next week?

One game at a time. Focus on the bedroom door and you’ll stub your toe on the bed every time.

  8. rickym Says:

Why the assumption the Bucs will be in the playoffs? If the Bucs show up with the same over confidence they displayed against the Saints, They will have all summer to contemplate what if’s?

  9. Architek Says:

Bucs are gonna get demolished by either team in the wildcard.

  10. MegaFailure Says:

even if we do make the playoffs, it’ll be the get-right game for the eagles

  11. Tye Says:

This Bucs team is in DESPERATE need of coaching staff change….
Bowels has proven again and again he can NOT coach to beat average teams and certainly not top level teams….

Until the Glaziers wise up and realize a winning team draws so much more profit and Bowels is a detriment to winning, The Bucs will remain mediocre!…

  12. Anglican Says:

The Carolina game at the Rayjay was close – remember

  13. HC Grover Says:

Bowles will find a way to lose just like hed did yesterday. No Confidence. None.

  14. Bucnjim Says:

Eagles fans reserving their tickets as we speak. I’m sure flights are already sold out from Philly to Tampa. The amount of Green Jerseys will make you sick.

  15. RagingBrisket Says:

This team isn’t beating anyone in the playoffs. Did you watch that game yesterday? Bucs are hapless and soft

  16. pancake block Says:

playoffs? Playoffs?? you want to talk about playoffs??? (Jim Mora Jr)

  17. LVMYBUCS Says:

Yes just like u thought we would beat the struggling Saints. We will never be great again until we get a real coaching staff that knows how to draft players and adjust as a game plays out. Bowles and Canalsas dont know what they doing.

  18. MerryPlankster777 Says:

As a long time Bucs fan living in Philly, both teams are pretty bad this year, but Eagles are the more destitute over the past month or so.
If you think Bucs fans are critical you should hear the Eagles talk radio chatter here today! Brutal

  19. Dlavid Says:

Playoffs? Playoffs ! Your talking playoffs?

  20. Ryan Thompson Says:

I remember when there were fans on this page lol. I believe that in the NFL nearly any team can beat any other – even if it’s not likely
    It’s possible.

  21. Biff Barker Says:

Bowles and defensive coached need to be fired!

Outright fire JTS, Logan Hall and time to release Shaq and White too!

  22. HC Grover Says:

Bowles always snatches defeat fron the jaws of victory. It is his nature.

  23. Pelsbuc61 Says:

Bucs actually need to worry about the panthers first. Wouldn’t surprise me if Bowles & Co pull the ultimate choke job in Charlotte.

  24. Paratrooper Buc Says:

Panthers are worst team in the league. I agree with those here that say “ If the Bucs play like yesterday we will lose.” Bowles yesterday on this site was quoted:” “It doesn’t matter who we played today,” Bowles said. “A good team, a bad team, a college team, a high school team. We wouldn’t have won the game.”

Bad Bucs show up and Saints are laughing into the playoffs. And we make playoffs, we need the good Bucs to get a win and nothing less then all three sides doing well will win.

  25. DungyDance Says:

Every time we blitz we don’t actually get any pressure or a sack, and hang the remaining defense out to dry. And we blitz A LOT. Until something fixes that dynamic, any playoff team we face will eat our lunch.

  26. Beeej Says:

Buddy is Eagles fan, among his crowd in Allentown everyone who has anything to do with running the team needs to be fired, esp after having 170 pound Davonte Smith be a blocker on a screen — their best receiver is now in a walking boot

  27. Bucs 95 Says:

If you really think about if the damn cardinals can drop 35 on philly on the road then tampa should too in the playoffs and beat them there not the same scary team we saw when we played them in week 3

  28. ModHairKen Says:

The beauty of Sunday’s game is this: Win and get a home playoff game. Lose — against the WORST team — and get a new coaching staff.

No way Bowles survives a loss. Playoffs start Sunday.

  29. Cobraboy Says:

I’m not sure if I want a one-and-done playoff game, or a new coaching staff.

    Doubtful to have both.

  30. SlyPirate Says:

IF THE BUCS MAKE THE PLAYOFFS …

    THE EAGLES WILL CRUSH THEM.

    31-14

  31. Boss Says:

if the bucs make the playoffs it will be the absolute worst outcome for this season and the next 3-4 years. I hope the players tank in NC!!!

  32. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Well…this is exactly the scenario I predicted all year. I can’t believe I started to buy in the past two weeks.

I’ve always felt there is no point in going to the playoffs if you cannot win and compete. The team was looking like a playoff team until yesterday.

What I saw yesterday was a mentally weak team that has no chance of winning against a playoff team.

All this has done is move us down in the draft. Nothing else gained from this year. Negative effect.

  33. 02,20,2022 Says:

    I’m still optimistic….

Ravens showed that SF are humans just like us.

Phi/Dal with both it depends which team shows up.

Detroit is looking like the fave to me.

Again there are injuries (not wishing on anybody) refs are wylin and blowing calls

why not get in the dance and see what happens??

    Go Bucs

  34. Jerseybuc Says:

Psh. With that third down defense ran out there yesterday was pathetic they were giving 10 yards cushion. Can not believe that game plan we were watching yesterday! Radio was back done with bowels I tried he’s not it that’s for sure

  35. UGotRobbed Says:

Are you kidding me!! They’re going to get their butts handed to them in Carolina!! Playoffs!! Playoffs!!! Are you kidding me!!!!

  36. PewterStiffArm Says:

Right now everyone has figured out our defense, especially our pass defense. The Eagles have to win this weekend if not they will fly into Tampa and steamroll the Buc’s. I have seen yesterday’s game before, for several years I might add. It’s like the game is on this big loop. It comes like an Equinox, (not the Chevy), but a nightmare that resonates amoung all Buc fans. It’s a repeat of the same episode over and over again. We were not ready shouldn’t be a headline by this coaching staff. How are you not ready for the biggest game in resent years. Bowles was stoic yesterday on the sidelines, misplaced without any answers. Yes and I know we weren’t suppose to be a great team this year by the mainstream sports world, but you know what, we are pretty good at times. Good enough to put up a fight and win. The shackles were placed on this team by this staff, or lack there of. The clock is ticking, wake the f#$k up!!

  37. Glass Half Full Guy Says:

At least our division picture is clear.

Bucs win in Caolina, Division Champs. Lose and done (unless a weird wildcard scenario plays out).

    Bucs lose,

Saints beat ATL and Saints win division. ATL wins, all 3 are tied with ATL winning the division with a better division record tie breaker.

If the Bucs lose Sunday, it was still a better run than many expected and with our new young guys, another year for Canales to grow, keep Evans and Mayfield next year could really good.

  38. Rod Munch Says:

Again, not a Baker Boi, but if Baker can shrug off yesterday, and play well vs a good Panthers pass defense – if can play well in the playoffs, then anything is possible in a year without any real dominate teams (at least in the NFC).

Now, to be sure, I think Bakers Fitzmagic like 2-week run of career games was more of a result of the fact he was facing terrible pass defenses, but the Eagles actually have one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL as well.

In any case, Baker and Bowles should be playing for their NFL futures vs the Panthers, so they had better show up, and if they don’t, they should both be gone.

  39. orlbucfan Says:

Panthers are getting into draft position. Bucs humiliated themselves yesterday, and they know it. You should have heard the postgame interviews on Bucs Radio. So, Buddy is an Eagles fan? I sure had that one pegged as he is no Bucs fan. That Washington-Cowjerks game will be a dogfight. Those two hate each other like we Bucs fans hate the Aints. How do I know? I’m a DC native and cut my NFL fan teeth following those games. I can not stand Dallas even to this day.

  40. Johnny K Says:

This team has to beat the Panthers first.

  41. Bobby Says:

Us beat the Eagles!?? I don’t see it happening. We can’t beat the the Gruden consultant Saints then it’s unlikely we beat Philly. Hurts is going to run all over us. There pass rush is going to be in Baker’s face all game. Baker has hurt ribs. This will affect his play. Because of those ribs, we may see Trask during a playoff game. I hope im wrong about Bucs losing. Let’s Go Bucs!

Panthers are getting into draft position.

    ——–

They traded away their pick, they’re only playing to embarrass the Bucs and ruin the year.

  43. Darin Says:

Lmao. Still haven’t learned. Anyone expecting a win against Carolina is nuggets. Already looking ahead. Stick around for a few more seasons you’ll learn. And if they do win Philly will beat em down like the saints just did. Bucs coaches don’t adjust

  44. Rick Says:

If we get by Carolina (and that’s a big if) – Philly will crush us 45-17. We can’t stop anyone!!!

  45. Ned Says:

Why are we talking playoffs? We have one more game. Don’t count your chickens. It’s unwise.
Yes I believe we will win but the 3 win cardinals beat the eagles. Just sayin!!

  46. BakerBucs Says:

I wud say that while it wasn’t pretty Sunday the bucs actually had several chances to win that game doesn’t matter what I think it was a fact they shud have won trey palmer really blew it like for no good reason how do u just fall & fumble with no 1 near u wth was that then white finally has a meaningful run to to fumble if nothing else that shud have been a makable field goal baker puts his all into it every game while that stupid run up the middle time after time even I am smart enough, stop it u dumbbell throw the damn ball for the win.2 weeks in a row the defense shows up so plz stop saying the can’t stop diddly.if d white isn’t talking care of business pull him out that’s a no brained wtf

  47. Dan Naughton Says:

If the defense secondary plays like New years Eve. Panthers win. As a defensive back you watch the eyes of the receiver they get big when a ball is coming. Do not turn your back ,slide your body so u can possibly get a interception or knock the ball down. Mccollum had his back turned to the QB. He had no clue the ball was coming. Read the eyes and arms moving up to receive the ball. You learn this in pee wee football… I know he is a rookie but he can do the job….

  48. Heath Hunt Says:

It doesn’t mean anything for next week but the Bucs are playing a lot better than the Eagles this month
