Lavonte David Returns To Practice

December 6th, 2023

Great news. Iconic Bucs linebacker Lavonte David is expected to test his healing groin Sunday in Atlanta.

David missed his second game of the season on Sunday after injuring his groin against the 49ers. Today, Todd Bowles announced David is back practicing, as is backup linebacker SirVocea Dennis, who missed Sunday’s game with an undisclosed illness.

This is great news for the Bucs’ chances against an Atlanta team that runs the ball like it’s 1992. Trying to run the ball down the Bucs’ throat should be a much more challenging task with David on the field.

Apparently, per Bowles, linebacker Devin White and cornerbacker Jamel Dean, are still among the wounded Bucs.

Hopefully he won’t have to play both ILB spots like he has for the last 4.5 years. Takes a toll on the body.

    D. White can stay out.

Neal played the role I had envisioned for the other Neal.

    Keanu Neal.

I also wanted to convert MJ Stewart to a backup ILB.

I want to draft a 4.5 ILB next year.

I think the future of the league is LBs like Lavonte.

    225 pounds with a 4.5.

    Safety/Linebacker hybrids.

  4. A Bucs Fan Says:

Finish the season with Dennis, LVD and Russell. Britt is a good guy he’s just too slow. White is done in Tampa….but in order to ensure that Todd Bowles needs to go.. I can see a world where if some how Todd saves his job he barks to have White signed over Evans. I wouldn’t put it past him at all.

More important to have David back than white. Not much of a falloff in results when white is out. When David’s absent it’s noticed.

  6. Mike Johnson Says:

Great news Buc fans, The Defense seems lost without David. I know a lot of you say keep White out. But he feeds om David and tends to play ok when David pumps him up. We need all hands on deck to beat the falcons. And we need a pass rush and some pressures.

  7. TOMMY MORDUE Says:

RYAN NEIL NEEDS TO REMAIN A LINEBACKER, HE PLAYED GREAT LAST WEEK..SIRVOCIA DENNIS IS BACK & OF COURSE OUR BEST LINEBACKER LAVANTE DAVID IS BACK !..NO WORRIES ABOUT NOT HAVING D.WHITE, HE HASN’T BEEN UP TO SNUFF FOR AWHILE NOW..MIKE EVANS NEEDS TO GET PAID..HE’S WORTH MUCH MORE TO OUR TEAM THAN D.WHITE EVER WILL BE.

    Oh yeah

Hopefully Russell remains out there with him and D White keeps cheerleading.

Dennis needs to show he can start and produce. Makes the decision about White much easier.
