“Energy” Returns To Bucs Locker Room

December 3rd, 2023

“We control our own destiny,” Todd Bowles proclaimed after the Bucs win against the Panthers.

He’s right. The Bucs don’t need to rely on anyone to win the NFC South.

Beat Atlanta on Sunday and the Bucs would own the first-place tiebreakers in the NFC South with four games to play.

Tristan Wirfs told the Buccaneers Radio Network after the game that the postgame “energy in the locker room was incredible.” He added that it was nice to see it return after all the losing of the last two months.

Antoine Winfield Jr., who sealed the win with an interception, echoed his head coach’s “destiny” line in his postgame comments. Joe expects that to be a theme all week.

Mike Evans’ epic catch and run touchdown late in the third quarter inspired the team, Winfield said, sparking a rise in energy level to match what Evans was putting on the field.

Joe would have thought the Bucs would have been at peak energy today considering what was at stake, but Joe will take a positive jolt however it comes.

Build off all of this, Bucs, otherwise it’s meaningless celebration.

    Early line, Falcons -2.

I’d expect that line to move quite a bit in the Falcon’s direction.

Also all those guys betting on the Panthers, that caused the line to move 2 points to Panthers +3.5, they knew what they were doing once again.

  2. Zzbucs Says:

Change the game plan because if not The Glazers will control yours.
With this sistem hard to be optimistic

  3. HC Grover Says:

Here we go again….Good grief. Our Bums barely beat their Bums. Oh well I do hope we can somehow win this mess and get a wild card game at Ray Jay. Even with the loss it would be good for Tampa Town and all the paying fans who attend the games.

  4. Jack Clark Says:

Baker Mayfield is holding our offense back. We need to start Kyle Trask to see if he can throw more than 2 lousy touchdowns a game 😂

  5. realistic-optimistic Says:

Winning does feel good. It feels even better when you can win regularly. Imagine having a coach that wants you to feel that feeling every week. Wouldn’t that be nice? Believe it or not, there are other teams out there that get to feel this feeling often.

    Fire Bowles!

  6. David Says:

    LOL.
Toilet Bowl says:“We control our own destiny,” Todd Bowles proclaimed after the Bucs win against the Panthers”.

No. You have been relying on other teams in your division so far and will continue to be. There is no way you defeat Green Bay and Jaguar or beating all your division teams.
Toilet Bowl and his loving son are on borrowing times for now. They both be gone after this season.

  7. Tye Says:

By ‘energy’ you mean because they know who the owners are pursuing to be next years HC!….

  8. Zzbucs Says:

    @david
Green Bay is nothing special my friend, we either obviously

  9. Bucsfan951 Says:

A stellar performance and statement win against the 1-10 panthers. I know the nfl doesn’t give style points but when you’ve dropped 6 of the last 8, and barely beat a 1-10 team, a 3 point win isn’t something to celebrate about.

Am I the only to think this way?

  10. All_da_way Says:

Sloppy win against a very lowly team. But also a gutsy win in that the Bucs had to find a way to win and they did.

  11. Tony Marks Says:

Well bless their hearts that they are that insulated to feel incredible after winning against the league dregs.

I appreciate the win but little surprised that this win without a blow out made them feel “incredible”

  12. D-Rok Says:

    Bucsfan,

    You aint lying.

  13. #99 the big fella Says:

The announcers really pointed out a lot of mistakes made by Baker.. He is not the answer.

  14. BelleGladeBuc Says:

If the Bucs make the playoffs they will be the lowest seed facing off against the highest seeded non division winning team in the NFL.

Currently at this time that team is either most likely going to be either the Eagles or the Cowboys.

The Bucs will be blown out by either the Eagles or Cowboys at home in the playoffs for their final game and end up with a draft pick in the lower 2/3 for each round of the draft.

Last year’s ending will be this year’s ending if we make the playoffs.

  15. Mostly Peaceful Trask Fan Says:

    LOL you can’t be serious

  16. ElioT Says:

21-18 vs the worst team in a long time.

I guess Todd is into moral victories.

The Bucs are a very bad football team and I’m not buying this destiny crap.

  17. FortMyersDave Says:

Yeah Rod, I saw that and -2 is a bit low, I thought it would be the ATL -3.5 or 4, expect the line to settle there. Moneyline is only the ATL -136 on Draftkings and around the same (-135 to -140) on a lot of the Vegas sites. I guess the ATL barely beating Tim Boyle and the Jets has caused the wise guys to set the numbers low.

  18. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

The Bucs are terrible. The Panthers are terrible. That is all.

  19. Jmarkbuc Says:

    KC getting beaten up.

I saw that too, ALSO saw they both thought the Bucs had an awesome defense over the last 2 months. Probably can’t expect a small market announcing crew to actually look up such things

  21. Crickett Baker Says:

    Collinsworth for HC!

  22. Dave Pear Says:

It might take all week, but Todd will reduce the team energy level to Colts game low. Todd could quench a self sustaining nuclear fusion reaction.

  23. adam from ny Says:

wirfs looks like he’s really having low key issues with that bad high ankle sprain

  24. Dan Naughton Says:

The running game lacks up the middle. Try outside using the tight ends more blocking needed. Use the tight ends on inside blocking then release as teams are focusing more on the running up the middle. Each team as access to game films. This O.C. thinks he is back in Seattle. Which was a run team. Bucs are a passing team! Get a new head coach and a new O.C.

  25. Jeff Says:

    Falcons 30 the Clueless Todd’s 13.

  26. Brandon Says:

Low IQ fans… we need to throw more than two lousy TDs a game… over 17 games that’s 34… something that has only been done in a Bucs uniform once other time. Mayfield is decent… which makes him quite a bit better than Trask. Neither Mahomes nor Lamar Jackson would thrive in our offensive system that Kiddy Canales has dreamed up.
