“Winning Is Good, Joe, Winning Is Good”

November 12th, 2023

All smiles today.

Boy, what a difference a win makes.

So what that the terrible Titans got stomped by the Bucs today? A win is a win. This isn’t college football where you get style points for beating teams with winning records.

Today’s win over the Titans counts as much in the win column as the October win over the slimy Saints and on opening day against the Vikings.

The Bucs are now a half-game out of first place, tied with the Dixie Chicks (pending their 4 o’clock kickoff against the Cardinals. The slimy Saints have but a half-game lead after getting blasted by Minnesota. And it appears that their new quarterback is Mr. Entertainment, Jameis Winston, until Derek Carr gets green-light to return to play after two injuries today. (Jameis threw two interceptions!)

The Bucs won today like they were a hungry team. Aggressive on defense. Opportunistic on offense. The way Bucs coach Todd Bowles likes it.

The season is not over. Far from it. It’s will be a tough one a week from today in NoCal.

But the Bucs have new life in the NFC South.

Joe was in the press box having just come up from the Buccaneers locker room when legendary Bucs radio voice Gene Deckerhoff walked up from behind Joe and said, “Winning is good, Joe. Winning is good.”

Indeed!

All smiles until they get destroyed by the 49ers.

Congrats for doing your job and beating a bad team in your home stadium.

The bar is so low, it’s gross.

  2. Tye Says:

A win, even over a losing team, is a WIN!
Bucs MUST beat the 49ers to prove they have improved!

  3. ZZBucs Says:

    Joe you are bi-polar Bro!!!!

  4. UKBuccaneer Says:

A win is a win, and this team needed one. Great job. Next week will be hella-tough but the schedule eases after that.

  5. BA’s Red Pen Says:

    ElioT doesn’t like puppies either.

  6. Tbbucs3 Says:

This should be the game that the ENTIRE fan base gets behind Mayfield. Dude shows up to play every week and he belongs as an NFL starter.

    But sadly, that won’t happen.

  7. SlyPirate Says:

Next week Bowles goes against arguably the best HC in the NFL.

  8. OHBucFan Says:

There are precious few good teams in the NFL. They want parity (mediocrity?) and they’ve got it. Couldn’t care less if the Texans are terrible. Same thing was said about the Texans last week. Well the terrible Texans won again today. No reason to think that the Bucs can’t win with good game plans and good execution. Fingers crossed.

  9. ModHairKen Says:

    Wait til next week.

  10. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Jay Miss threw 2 interceptions? Say it ain’t so! I thought he was the second coming!

  11. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

Tbbucs3 – are you a Mayfield fan? Just checking. Lol

  12. David Says:

Toilet Bowl defense again gave the Bucs offense a chance to win scoring so poorly against a bad team.

Bucs defense shut down Titans trash qb who is way worst than Baker.
Today was a good example of why Bucs do not call many of deep ball for Baker as he missed so any including an interception.

  13. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

Props where props are due – Mayfield had a pretty good game, and the D came to play. Nice work!

  14. Jack Clark Says:

“The Bucs won today like they were a hungry team. Aggressive on defense. Opportunistic on offense. The way Bucs coach Todd Bowles likes it.”

Todd Bowles got back to his blitzing roots and stopped running that weak as Cover 2 defense. Rachaad White gained more rushing yards than Derrick Henry and all the Titans running backs combined. Mike Evans caught the ball when it counted. And our field goal kicker didn’t miss. Thank you for restoring our confidence in this team and coaching staff!

  15. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Tbbucs3 stop smoking his joint. He disappears against good defenses and San Fran has a very good one

Baker Mayfield is average at best and is replaceable because there are many quarterbacks better than him.

  17. Tbbucs3 Says:

“Tbbucs3 – are you a Mayfield fan? Just checking. Lol

Am I fan of my teams starting quarterback?

    Is this a real question?

  18. Tbbucs3 Says:

Not surprised this half of this loser fan base can’t rally behind a starting quarterback in the league who shows up to play week in week out…..

Hope yall recorded Trasks kneel down! LMAO

  19. NE Fan Says:

TTbucs@ I call BS, when Brady was playing all you did was trash him. Bucs fans should feel a little better about last week’s lose, Stroud beat the Bengals today, he is the real deal.

  20. Joe Says:

    Joe you are bi-polar Bro!!!!

LOL Bucs win and Joe is a happy, happy guy.

Bucs lose and Joe is bitter and sometimes, downright p!ssed off.

  21. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Tbbucs3 You love Shakesy Bakesy more than you do the Bucs. Don’t remember you ever blaming him for any of his bad playing. You’re worse than Oneillbucs with JayMiss

  22. WyomingJoe Says:

Let’s see… the usual CRAP from David and SlyPirate (rather suggestive Sly) even when we win! You guys are a joke. TBbucs3, both of these guys and the usual “fans” need much more than a joint.

  23. Capt2fish Says:

Wow that Trask is the complete package! I knew he could carry a clipboard and fetch juice boxes for thebfirst string. But that was a world class kneel. Is there anything that guy can’t do?….I mean besides starting in the nfl.

  24. Tbbucs3 Says:

    NEfan

Wrong, you won’t fine one comment I made trashing Brady in 2020/2021

I only started to call out Brady once he started taking training camp vacations and playing poorly in 2022.

Baker right now, is playing like a top 15 quarterback in the league and yet a large portion of our “fans” are actively rooting against him.

  25. JK Says:

    TBucs3……🎯💯

  26. David Says:

    Baker fans,
As Joe reported, the defense won this game for Bucs despite Baker being so inaccurate today. Bucs might have lost this game against any other Titans qb than Levis.
Will Levis is as trash as it gets. Thanks God Bucs didn’t draft him.
Today, Derek Carr was injured again which is not a good news for Bucs. I think Winston gives them better chance to win games. Derek Carr is another Journeyman trash qb.
I will take Trash Baker ove Trash Carr.

  27. NE Fan Says:

Ttbucs@ I guess that seals it, your a fair weather fan. The guy was going through a divorce and half of the 11 days weren’t practice days. Get your facts right. As for Baker, I never said he was horrible just average and that’s what 15th is.

  28. Bosch Says:

Expect the niners to have distractions this week. The Biden – Xi meeting is in San Fran Wednesday.

  29. Joe Says:

Expect the niners to have distractions this week. The Biden – Xi meeting is in San Fran Wednesday.

    LOL Reaching a little bit?

The 49ers headquarters and stadium are like 40 miles south of San Francisco. That would be like if the Bucs practiced and played in Sarasota and saying they would be distracted with 41 rolling to MacDill. LOL

  30. David Says:

If we lose to 49’ers, Trask should start going forward. Trask will be in a familiar position off the bench. He will finish the season off at 7-1.

  31. JK Says:

    David…….🤡 take brah……
.I suppose in your twisted mind the defense dis everything in their power to win the Houston game and Mayfields 119 passer rating sucked.

    Infuriating ice cold take man

  32. Tbbucs3 Says:

“Ttbucs@ I guess that seals it, your a fair weather fan”

Yeah that’s why I also rooted for Josh Freeman, McCown and Jameis Winston.

  33. NE Fan Says:

Never said you were an intelligent one.

  34. UKBuccaneer Says:

Baker is playing like a top 15 QB, which is kinda what we thought he was.

Does anyone seriously think Trask is a top 15 guy? How much of an upgrade does even the biggest Trask fan think he is? Is he better than Goff? Herbert? Lawrence?

  35. RichieRich Says:

Lol Baker is the ( by far) the best QB in the division. His rating is close to his best season in Cleveland He’s has the number rating in the quarter. He’s getting back to form he was prior to his torn labrum…… I predict he stays in Tampa and sign a 3 year extension.

  36. NE Fan Says:

RitchieRich@ to be fair Baker had two pretty good receivers in Cleveland along with one if the best rushing offenses. He has two pretty good receiver in Tampa as well, it’s not like he has the Patriots receiving core of misfit toys.

  37. Tbbucs3 Says:

NEfan, enjoy a sad sad franchise for the next 10-15 years….Id take even McCown over the likes of watching Mac Jones and Mr Zappe…..I’m afraid the senile control freak has lost it.

  38. Winny Testaverde Says:

Hopefully Mean Gene belts out “You Go, Joe…You Go!” when the Buc covering Bad Boys make a bee line for the food and beverage spread.

  39. NE Fan Says:

Ttbucs we finally agree of something except the 10-15 yrs. Unlike your owners Kraft won’t tolerate losing for long.

  40. Bucs4eva Says:

Weirdest fan base in the league. A top 14 qb in the league according to ALL the statistics and all there is is hate. Just stupid.

  41. BucaneroJim Says:

    @Joe…

If the Bucs practiced and played in Sarasota, the coaching would be highly creative, artistic and cerebral compared to Tampax… and Sorrysota only has one strip club to distract the players. (:

  42. JK Says:

    Bucs4eva Says……….so true

Joe is kind to let them continue to spew their nonsense. Throbbing Rod Munncher needs banned from society

    ^^^^^^^
Wow, so you were never a New England Patriot fan either before or after Tom Brady started/ended winning Super Bowls there? SMH! 😂

  44. orlbucfan Says:

Hey, NE Fan, get lost. According to you, you didn’t even watch this Bucs game today. You wrote it on an earlier comment. So, who cares what you think? I was only able to see a few minutes, but I’m glad they won. I’m also glad White had another game with over 100 yards combined yardage. Canales is getting there.

  45. Crickett Baker Says:

We almost won the last game and I was glad to see Davis on the bench for this one. I see no reason we can’t have a greatly exciting game with the 49ers. Baker is doing fine. We even had fewer penalties. We may be coming together. GO BUCS!

  46. Bosch Says:

Joe, the entire Bay Area (San Fran, not Tampa) will be flush with political chatter next week. 40 miles is nothing.

  47. lambchop Says:

My only problem with yesterday’s game was the slow start on offense. That will kill them against elite teams. They need to start faster on offense.

But, it was great to see some damn heart and pride from these players.

  48. Bucs13 Says:

A “good” Baker season is a “bad” Brady season. It’s kinda like what Rodgers said when people were digging his grave in 2019 and then he went on to win the MVP the next year. This isn’t a diss to Baker. It just goes to show how dominate those two guys were, especially Brady while playing into his 40’s. Ian Beckles made the same observation.

  49. pmarcello Says:

Seems like all the Baker hating, bashing disgusting neck beard, brain dead, couch potato trolls hang out on your site Joe. Kind of ruins it for all the rest of us.
But they better be ware after all one digital internet grenade could get them all.

  50. vadertime Says:

I watched the entire game. Early in the first half, Tampa missed a few opportunities. However, this week the defense stepped up and kept the game close until the second half where the offense finally got going. A good game against a bad team. Bowles still needs to go. Tampa is still a mediocre team that gets blown out by good teams. This team is a long ways off from those heady days of Superbowl dreams. In a really bad NFC South, Tampa still has a chance at a wildcard berth, but that might be a stretch, too, given the inconsistency of play from week to week. Let’s see if they can put together a string of wins in the 2nd half of the season. Bowles still needs to go after this season. Go Bucs.
