Shaq Barrett Addresses Early And Late Collapses

November 26th, 2023

In every game but opening day, the Bucs have allowed points in the first quarter, and they’ve been more and more porous in the opening act as the season has worn on.

Bucs sacks king Shaq Barrett brought that ugly fact up to Joe today in the losing locker room without being prompted.

Joe asked Shaq what the fix is. Are the Bucs not prepared? Is it just football?

“You just got to put the work in, man. We’ve been in the same position every week. We just gotta focus up better at the end of the game, too, get stops. Like defensively at the beginning of the game we always let the [opponent] go down, drive down at the beginning of hte game. Gotta eliminate that. We just gotta be better all around.

“I can’t pinpoint it. But we gotta fix it, though, like we can be good football team but we keep losing all these close games. So we’re not looking like a good football team and its taking its toll on us.

The losing is eating up the team but there’s still plenty of fight Shaq said. “I hate this feeling.”

The fans feel the same way, Shaq.

    Former sack king Joe.
I love, and respect Shaq , but seems to me he will never be the same again.Nothing but respect for Shaq , but that’s it.

This team is lost, which is a direct reflection of it’s leadership. They have no idea what they need to fix because the head coach doesn’t know what to fix or how to fix it. Todd Bowles coaches from a “process” perspective. This is problematic because the “process” is supposed to be what works and what anyone can adapt to – anywhere, anytime. Individuality always gets lost in the “process.” This is why you’re seeing what you’re seeing. The Bucs need a coach that can identify individual strengths in his players and will use them as such. This is where adjustments are made. Until the Glazers bring in the right coach, nothing will change.

Canales and Bowels are so lame

  4. Voice of Truth Says:

They are lost, their clueless HC is leading them directly into the abyss

Todd just stands their stupefied by the situation week after week

  5. Old School Bucs Says:

I have said it a million times on this site. No Oline and a defense that cant win games. To many big plays. Yes White rushed for 100 today, but almost all outside red zone. This line cant get it done most of imes never mind in the red zone!!! The line is soft, weak, and gets pushed around when it counts.

Hey Joe, can you talk to the players again and get them to talk about Brady and how it is good that Brady isnt here, like Brady wad the problem last year?

This team is full of a bunch of pathetic losers who had a 7 time superbowl winner and still doesnt understand what wins in the NFL!

  6. Popcorn Mike Says:

I can understand Barrett issue, he just lost his daughter in a tragic accident a year or less ago so I can see his mind set being a little off, but the way the defense is playing that’s on Bowles. Mayfield is starting to look more and more like a bridge QB. He make great plays and then turn around and just kill the team with an interception or a wide open receiver overthrown. Again this team is a mess right now. After today I don’t think the Bucs will get turned around this season

Wah wah wahhh! boo hoo, cry me a river Shrak, got paid like a sack king, playing like a pheasant.
You, Devine Whit, Bake Mayfields, Trying shinka, and roach Bowls get on my nerves.
Fun day at work tomorrow, hey dude what happened to your Bucs?
    Me: they suk!!!

  8. Front Four Says:

Did Shaq play today? Time Joe stops referring to Shack as ‘Bucs sack king’. He’s been a non-factor all season. Who out there on D is making plays? D White is whiffing on tackles all over the field. JTS gets a mercy sack on a stunt where Minchew rolled out and right into him. YaYa was Quiet. SirVocea Dennis was so quiet you’d have thought he was in church. And Winfield drops an INT. All you Bowles haters can rail on the HC, but guys have to make plays. And the plays are there to be made.

  9. Tbbucs3 Says:

Shaq Barrett played today? Good to know!

  10. Tbbucs3 Says:

Bucs players getting paid then checking out….

A tale as old as time.

  11. BigBucsNoWhammy Says:

Okay, a little bit too rough on Shaq, considering what he’s gone through this year. My apologies to him.

  12. ChiBuc Says:

This screams poor coaching. You come out flat, fight back as players, then go flat after the half.. Bowles sucks

  13. HC Grover Says:

These are some real good collapsos.

  14. HC Grover Says:

The collapse next week will be glorious.

  15. Craig Says:

They really needed LVD today. He does a good job of covering D. White’s screw ups and one armed tackling techniques.

Without him Shaq had to do it and he really does have better things to do. Shaq made a lot of plays today, but he barely got the chance to rush the QB and that is a shame.

  16. unbelievable Says:

Did anyone bother asking Shaq why he’s completely been MIA since week 2?

  17. PowerOfPewter Says:

I can’t wait for next weeks press conference after they lose to the Panthers. “We just gotta play better” – Bowles
