Report: Rachaad White Should Play Sunday

November 25th, 2023

Status report.

Bucs stud receiving back Rachaad White mysteriously popped up on this morning’s injury report and was downgraded to “questionable” for Sunday’s game against the Colts.

But a report from a trusted insider suggests White will suit up for tomorrow’s game in downtown Indianapolis. Jeremy Fowler of BSPN learned through the ever-popular “source” that White should be able to play.

This downgrade of White scared Joe. While White cannot run, neither can any of the Bucs running backs, so White’s potential absence is a wash.

It is in the passing game that White’s absence would be felt big time. He has developed into one of the most dangerous receiving weapons in the NFL. White has 354 yards receiving, second-most of any running back trailing only Christian McCaffrey.

Take that away from the Bucs offense and with the team struggling to get the ball to Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, specifically in the first half, and you are talking about a major weapon pulled off the field.

I thought surely that must be a mistake Joe … White having 354 total receiving yards but 414 yards YAC. Most bizarre thing I’ve ever seen.

Looking at his Advanced Receiving stats though, it’s spot on. Rachaad has caught 41-of-44, with an Average Depth of Target (ADOT) of MINUS 0.6 yards. He’s got MINUS 58 Yards Before Contact (YBC) and the 412 yards Yards After Contact (YAC), leaving him with 354 total receiving yards. Bizarre.

Todd Bowles…….. just toying with the opponent’s psyche.
    It’s not even fair.

My gut tells me it’s possible he wouldn’t have even been listed on the injury report if it wasn’t for the NFL’s current investigation into the Bengals/Joe Burrow

    Defense Rules –

Truly a bizarre stat line, that unfortunately points to play calling and offensive scheme

“This downgrade of White scared Joe. ”

😂 Joe is finally starting to appreciate White

  7. Ed McSherry Says:

Rachaad White is excellent in rushing, also; if there are holes in the O-line through which to rush. There aren’t any.

And, when receiving, how does he do after the catch then?

White is also No. 2 in YAC yards with 414 trailing only Cheetah Hill who has 459.” End Quote

    Oh!
“Yards after the catch” stats, good point.
I’ll take a wild guess that a receiving-RB has to be a pretty good rusher to achieve those stats then?

Yup, that pretty much proves that then.

If the Buccaneers had the 2020 O-line intact for 2023 with Ryan Jensen and Ali Marpet (also lost one to the Bengals who went on to protect Burrows in the Super Bowl), how good Rachaad White really is as a rushing RB might very well be only an argument over who’s the best RB in the NFL: McCaffrey of Rachaad White.

    What an idea though: a “Bowles-proof O-line.”

  8. Jeff Says:

He’s just scared. You’ll be OK lil’ buddy. You won’t lose by that much. The Colts are a bad team just like your Yucs. And you’ve got clueless Todd to keep you safe.

  9. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Arch Manning finally got to play. Interesting.

First game I ever saw with my father was a texas Longhorns game. Arch Manning plays for them. kind of cool. He’s a freshman though.

Jeff, get lost, go back under the rock you crawled out from.

  11. Beeej Says:

“He’s got MINUS 58 Yards Before Contact (YBC)”

Does that mean he usually catches them behind the LOS?

  12. Aaron Says:

We’re vying for the South, and White has been basically a lone wolf in our backfield. It makes sense to not overuse White. So, I can see a bye week for him to rest him up. Look for Chase to go.off in White’s stead.

  13. Barbosa Says:

Throw the ball to white all throughout the first half. Make the colts adjust, then feed Godwin and Evans. How about we score a TD in the first quarter? Play with a lead?

  14. unbelievable Says:

Last article: HUGE opportunity for the other running backs.

This article: the other backs suck, we need R White to play.

    Lol Joe
