Joe Tryon-Shoyinka Rises From The Dead

November 27th, 2023

Woke up?

In the past few days, regular readers and followers of Joe on Twitter, the site currently known as “X,” have likely noticed Joe had been pounding his keyboard to “#FreeYaYa.”

The reference was that rookie outside linebacker YaYa Diaby. He is having a much better year than the vanishing Joe Tryon-Shoyinka and should be getting much more snaps and maybe start.

Well, Diaby started yesterday.

Joe had given up on JTS. He’s been in a miserable slump. Before yesterday, his last sack came against Detroit. The Bucs terribly needed a pass rush and there was no good reason for Diaby to get more snaps because he got results.

Well yesterday, the tables turned. It was JTS, and not Diaby, who got the sack. Someone finally called the phone number on the milk carton that had JTS’s image on it and JTS was found made his presence felt.

But was that sack by JTS too late and too soon? Now that the Bucs have painted themselves into a corner with a 4-7 record, will JTS suddenly tease Bucs fans he needs to be starting again, only to go MIA for the rest of the season?

Joe would still start Diaby. He’s the Bucs’ future. JTS isn’t.

FIRE ALL OF THEM and HIRE HARBAUGH

Hey, I’d like nothing better than for the kid to succeed. I didn’t get to watch the game, but I followed it on the NFL site. I saw that Diaby was hurt on one play early on and read that JTS finally got a sack. They only write a sentence or two between the plays. Right now I’m going with even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then. Do it a few more times kid.

  3. Bucsfanman Says:

    Golf clap for JTS!

Of note, other than his couple of pressures, is how many times he lost contain and the Colts ran free.

Bad showing overall for the Bucs!

  4. Knucknbuc Says:

Yippie!! Jts made a sack on a stunt unblocked!! Superstar stuff there!! Move aside deacon jones. Jts is coming for your record!!! Ask Todd Bowles and Jts is doing 👍🏾

  5. Aceofaerospace Says:

Just checking in to see if Toilet Bowels was fired yet. I’ll check back in again later.

  6. Zzbucs Says:

Come on Joe! He Just made 1 sack!! He did what he is payed for!!!

  7. Nprbuc Says:

I may be totally confused- I am old- but I thought I saw Minschew run almost directly into JTS. It wasn’t like JTS made any kind of great play. Maybe he did and I missed it? Kinda like the great interception that Davis finally made. It had zero to do with anything he did other than hold on to the ball after it was thrown to him. An interception is an interception and a sack is a sack but let’s not get too excited because it happened!😊

  8. Jugheadfla Says:

If the guy is unblocked he can make a play, unfortunately 99% of the time is being blocked so at those times he’s like a 5 year old trying to beat up parent

  9. QBKilla Says:

    He’s still a bust.

  10. Easy The Great Says:

LOL glad we are excited by Tryin-Hard Shoyinka getting a sack that Minshew went into.

  11. realistic-optimistic Says:

I wasn’t impressed with that sack. It came the same way as DW’s sacks; Bowles schemed a play that got JTS unblocked. Show me where he had to bend around anybody, or bull-rush anybody. He lined up over center and stunted around an unmanned edge. Easy peasy. Let’s give him a big contract now.

  12. Bucnjim Says:

Colts threw the ball 41 times! Crazy for a running team but the game plan for every opponent will be the same. Line up in the shotgun every single play and throw down field. They even ran out of the shotgun. This looks really bad for a defensive minded coach.

  13. 1#bucsfan Says:

Start YAYA and bring JTS to relieve him. Only way to find out if YAYA is a start is for him to play. Kinda like trask lol

  14. ChrisBuc23 Says:

He still trash and not consistent enough. He is always overrunning the play and takes horrible angles at getting to the QB. Too soft out there and often. We haven’t seen enough disruption from JTs on the line since he was drafted. #WastedPick

  15. Davenport Says:

He’s terrible but on an affordable contract for 2024. ST player & back-up. Expect nothing and be surprised if he contributes.

  16. Jack Clark Says:

“It was JTS, and not Diaby, who got the sack.”

That sack JTS got was due to Todd Bowles creative, genius, blitzing scheme confusing the Colts pass protection enough for JTS to run to the quarterback unblocked. YaYa Diaby or anyone else could have done the same thing. JTS didn’t do anything when he was getting blocked because he’s a sorry, weak as, useless pass rusher and needs to be benched for YaYa Diaby ASAP

  17. Mike Johnson Says:

Tryon is not a bust. But he’s not a starter either. I heard his name 2 times in yesterday’s game during the 1st qtr. He then did his usual..he disappeared. Got nothin against the kid but he is ineffective.

  18. SlyPirate Says:

What’s even weirder than JTS showing up is Vea not showing up. Donut. Not one stat. Has that ever happened? How’d they contain him? Is he hurt?

  19. unbelievable Says:

    NO NO NO NO.

    You’re so wrong on this.

JTS fell into a sack. Minshew ran around his tackle and ran straight into JTS. JTS did nothing special, it literally fell into his lap.

Stop giving him credit for a play that fell into his lap. JTS sucks, he hasn’t turned a corner, he hasn’t risen from the dead and he’s still a bust.

  20. Buckeyebuckchuck Says:

SlyPirate is correct. I thought going in VV was gonna eat on a backup center, did they double him with the Manbeast Nelson? Probably, haven’t seen All22 yet

  21. Rod Munch Says:

What if JTS is simply a better player when you see less of him? I’ll take that, in particular if YaYa is better.

Regardless, next year Shaq is gone, and you’re going to need two outside LB’s if we’re still running this same scheme.

  22. Brandon Says:

For those saying JTS got a sack from an unblocked stunt, Ya Ya did the exact same last week… except it wasn’t a stunt. Tell Kyle Moore about your declaration and see if he will tell you any different.

  23. Brandon Says:

Munch finally makes some sense. JTS and Ya Ya are polar opposites. Ya Ya is strictly a bull rusher and JTS is strictly speed and finesse. I would think them rotating in for the other would complement each other. JTS looks like Simeon plays like Adams while Ya Ya looks like Quincy Black but plays like he wants to be Vita.

  24. Larrd Says:

One play and he is now gangbusters!
