Jason Pierre-Paul Joins The Dark Side

November 14th, 2023

Former Bucs edge rusher Jason Pierre-Paul.

Joe is happy to see this and sad about it all at the same time.

Buccaneers hero edge rusher Jason Pierre-Paul, a key cog in the 2020 Super Bowl team, is signing with the slimy Saints.

JPP is 34 years old and clearly he has a deep love for the game to be continuing his stellar career after going unsigned in 2023 free agency and all summer. In fact, reports say JPP initially will land on the Saints practice squad, very small-time money, especially for a guy who has earned many tens of millions like JPP has.

JPP made 13 starts for the Ravens last season and had just three sacks and three quarterback hits. But Joe watched a share of Ravens games and JPP certainly flashed and was an important cog on Baltimore’s third-best NFL defense (points allowed).

Joe isn’t worried about JPP pushing the slimy Saints over the top in the NFC South. But Joe doesn’t like the idea of JPP coming after the Bucs when New Orleans heads to Tampa on New Year’s Eve for what is sure to be a critical game in the standings.

The idea of a jacked up JPP against his former team about the time he’s shaken off playing rust is not a soothing vibe.

Regardless, Joe wishes JPP well.

Yeah, I’m not worried. Should be able to run on him anyway.

  2. realistic-optimistic Says:

He’s washed. But I’m a big fan of his time in Tampa. Disappointing to see him stoop so low as to sign with that filthy franchise.

  3. realistic-optimistic Says:

It’s funny, the last time the Bucs signed a former saint he got MRSA. But washed up former Bucs land in NO regularly: Winston, Kwon Alexander, Justin Evans, now JPP.

  4. Marine Buc Says:

Even for the Slimy Saints a player like JPP will come in “handy”…

    LOL.

  5. Durango 95 Says:

My initial reaction was I hate to see him sully his reputation by joining that slimy bunch. But the guy was an absolute warrior for us when we really needed it. Nothing but the best. Except when playing against the good guys.

  6. Boss Says:

he’s good for at least 2 sacks against us. wish him well.

  7. realistic-optimistic Says:

C’mon Joe, did you delete my post because it says MRSA? It was a clean post.

  8. sasquatch Says:

Yeah, he’s so terrifying that nobody has been interested in signing him.

  9. Cobraboy Says:

    Even warriors eventually wear out.

    Except the freaks.

  10. Bosch Says:

Don’t participate in the bounty pools, JPP!

  11. CAbucsfan Says:

Tristan will shut him down, practicing against each other and seeing all of JPP’s moves there’s nothing new he can do against Wirfs.
    Non factor signing.

  12. LJ's Daddy Says:

I would be so Bucs for him to show up and ball out.

  13. adam from ny Says:

dang…he’ll be bumped up to the active roster for the bucs game…

just for morale, mayhem and to get the bucs off their game…

saints are just looking for an edge over the bucs down the stretch…even if it’s psychological

  14. Hodad Says:

He wouldn’t be the first person who blew millions, and needed a paycheck Joe. Last anyone heard from him he was waiting for a contender to come calling, that ain’t the Saints.

  15. BA’s Red Pen Says:

So Hodumbazz, you know JPP’s financials. STFU idiot.

  16. Mike C Says:

Wow BAs pen…….. why you so worried about it lol

  17. Bojim Says:

Sure wants to play if he’s on the practice squad. Wish him well

  18. HC Grover Says:

He will Hex us…. he is close to the quarter an can get a hex at Marie Lavoux Place. Look out.

  19. Fansince76 Says:

That is exactly why the Aint’s got him for that game at the Buc’s. They want him to wreak havoc on his former team. Lets hope that don’t happen! The Aint’s do this kind of crap signings alot it seems. The friggin Aint’s suck arse.

  20. HC Grover Says:

We are toast. Stainks will win Sunday and we will be hexed. That is why they hired him.

  21. Hail2dabucs Says:

What a way to give the bucs the Middle finger jpp ! Oh wait a minute …

  22. Allbuccedup Says:

    Good luck JPP!

  23. BucsFanSince76 Says:

Gotta love Joe sneering at JPP’s sack production of 3 in 13 games. Logan Hall has 3 sacks for his CAREER. Suh will also sign with a contender before the season ends and these 2 have plenty left in the tank , just because Licht cannot sign any decent help does not mean you mensah’s have the intelligence to say they are washed , although the people saying that would certainly know something about being washed.

  24. Winny Testaverde Says:

Kyle Rudolph washed…one armed bandit a la Adrian Clayborn. Feels like a spite signing by a hated rival.

  25. Buc4evr Says:

JPP is old and slow now, but he is still better than JTS.

  26. Winny Testaverde Says:

    Excellent point, Buc4evr:

Licht won’t let go of his “prized” 1st round draft pick Joe Barely Tryon…even though he gets pushed around like a shopping cart at Walmart. He will never be NFL caliber.

    ^^^^^^
Go write on a Saints site, they might GAF about this garbage.

  28. Brandon Says:

By then, the rust will be gone and he’ll be nursing an injury.

  29. Jack Sparrow Says:

JPP is no longer a threat. He is a washed-up player just trying to squeeze more money. pfffttt!!!!

  30. HC Grover Says:

J in Mich…Go away. You moron BOZO! You waste case. Go ***** yerself.

  31. Kidfloflo Says:

Joe Barely Tryon!! That’s a good one! But if nothing else they will try and pick his brain on our tendencies, but they have Winston for that and it didn’t seem to help, so

  32. Buc1987 Says:

He’s a slimy Saint now…so I wish him the worst.

  33. Dwayne Cone Says:

Yes a guy that has made 100 million playing football signs for pennies because he loves the game. Apparently the Saints think he can contribute.

Who would have thought Scotty Miller would have twice as many TD’s as Chris Godwin in half as many games? He’s turning out to be a Red Zone go to guy.

  34. fred Says:

JPP is still on our side

  35. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

    Bucs should have kept him

  36. Mike Johnson Says:

JPP is only a shadow of the JPP we use to see wrecking havoc on the field. I’d still take him over Joe Tryon though.

That so? He sure is long in the tooth. Must have needed the coin. Shame.

  38. garro Says:

    Totally agree Joe!
Why the heck we didn’t sign him is beyond me. I’m sure he would be better than JTS and I would bet the Saints got him cheap. So what gives Jason!

    Go Bucs!

  39. Bigbucfan90 Says:

I don’t get why Bucs didn’t call him for cheap I get cap space but he probably would’ve signed for peanuts and it would’ve been good for the rookies to learn something from him smh.

  40. David Says:

So what I listen to alot of football shows and talk radio and maybe heard his name twice last year hes lost a step and when that’s the main thing you count on then your in trouble a rotation piece that other teams offensive lineman can’t wait for him to come in so they can take a break has been

  41. David Says:

I seen local high school kids better than jts that’s not saying much
