“Go Fix Your Groin!”

November 23rd, 2023

Surprised Bucs’ star LB.

Well, if Lavonte David ever needed motivation or inspiration…

Earlier this week, Bucs stud linebacker Lavonte David hopped on “Up and Adams” starring Kay Adams, seen weekday mornings on FanDuelTV.

David didn’t talk a whole lot about the Bucs. Adams had David on for five minutes and the bulk of the interview was about David springing for Thanksgiving dinners for the underprivileged in his old Miami neighborhood.

Then, Adams was pinging David for intel on the 49ers, who the Bucs lost to on Sunday.

(You may have heard this before, but the lack of Bucs chatter even with a Bucs star on Adams’ show demonstrates what Joe has been typing for months: That there is just no buzz whatsoever with the Bucs.)

David initially talked about how he was visiting a doctor for his injured groin, insisting like he told Joe on Sunday, he will be OK.

“I will be fine,” David said. “No big deal.”

But then, David said time is running out on the 2023 season and the Bucs need to step things up to ensure a division title for an unprecedented third-straight season.

“I feel like we can compete on that level,” David said of how the 49ers play ball. “We just have to find ways — to do the small things on our part. Lucky for us we’ve got a long season.”

And then Adams gave David the strangest order Joe thinks he has ever heard the former NFL Network it-girl offer.

“Go fix your groin!”

While Joe admits, that is a priority, the defense with or without David really has to clean things up. The Bucs pass defense has been Mike Smith-like lately.

Three weeks ago in Houston, quarterback C.J. Stroud set a rookie record throwing for 470 yards in a Bucs loss. Last week in San Francisco, second-year quarterback Brock Purdy (who as a rookie absolutely torched the Bucs so badly that the former Mr. Irrelevant was pulled from the game in the fourth quarter) set a 49ers passing mark not seen in Northern California for 34 years.

The other 49ers quarterback was some guy named “Montana.”

When your defense is getting gouged like that and a defensive-minded guy is your head coach, that tends to get the attention of very important people.

Joe’s just going to take a wild stab here, but perhaps getting your best pass rushers on the field ASAP in obvious passing situations just might help.

If Joe didn’t know any better, it’s like someone snuck Smith into One Buc Palace through the back door of the Glazer Shed.

She can fix my groin, or break it!

Can we add never having Devin White cover anybody ever again?
That might help too. Just saying.

Let me get Joe’s morning started…..

    Ya Ya…..Ya Ya…Ya Ya….

  4. HC Grover Says:

That was good of him to get the free Turkey Dinners.

There’s no buzz with the Bucs anymore because we’re not winning, we had some buzz earlier this season when we were winning. The only reason why Tom Brady had any buzz was because he won 7 super bowls. And Todd Bowles defense looked mike smith-like against the Texans because he was running that weak as, soft zone cover 2. Can’t really blame Todd Bowles for Carlton Davis and Jamel Dean getting torched in man-to-man coverage against the 49ers because that’s what they’re getting paid 28 million dollars a year to do. And can’t blame Todd Bowles for not having good edge rushers either because that’s Jason Licht responsibility. But we can blame Todd Bowles for not “getting our best pass rushers on the field”, not starting YaYa Diaby, and not benching JTS sorry weak as. It’s refreshing knowing that Lavonte David is never the reason why our defense gives up the big play and I hope he “fixes his groin” because we need him (and vita vea) for the rest of the season.

The Bucs get buzz when they win games. Lose 4 out of 5 games and you deserve none.

  7. Jeff Says:

Davis and Dean are trash. Worthless players that play 8 games a year. Time for a full reboot. Trade these slackers for some cleats for the team.

  8. Bobby M. Says:

This is ultimately a reflection of the defensive unit Licht/Bowles built. You got 4 1st rd picks in the front seven, $30 million in two CBs along with an all pro safety and HOF LB….either the resources were used poorly or the coaching sucks. Bowles constantly references “execution” yet nearly every player on the defense has been in the system for 3-4 years. Maybe the system sucks, it’s effective against rookie QBs, backup/journeymen QBs, elite QBs…..who can you say it’s consistently effective against? The best trait of Bowles system is stopping the run but this isn’t the 90’s….today’s league is geared for passing and Bowles system fails routinely against rookies, backups, etc.

Somewhere ‘’smitty’ is smiling at our cornerbacks dean and Davis. They play just as he taught so many before! Rod ‘toast’ jones like for sure!

  10. Aubpierce Says:

When your general manager can’t draft, coaches can’t teach, and you don’t play your best players you loose.

  11. Obvious Says:

    @JackClark

Well JACK, I guess you’ll have to blame Licht for YA YA while you’re at it .. You’ll also have to blame him for Watt while you’re at that. The one I DO BLAME Licht for is Hall. I’m sure everyone has very short memories but Tryon was during Covid and THE ENTIRE DRAFT was a shot in the dark. You and many others seem to have forgotten the hand that Arians had in that as well.

It would be BOWLES FAULT for NOT REMOVING Tryon from the field of play with better options literally sitting right there. RAW OR NOT Ya Ya and Watts (that LICHT has brought on board) and have proven that they deserve more time on a desperately needy line..

BUT TO BLAME LICHT FOR NOT COACHING THEM UP AND MAKING BETTER CHOICES ON THE FIELD IS WELL…. just a bunch of CRAP! And if you want to blame someone maybe you should just stick to the actual culprit that CONTINUES to make rookies and average qb’s look like hall of famers.. THAT WILL BE BOWLES A D HIS LACK OF MAINTAINING ANY KIND OF STANDARD AND RATHER HIS DEFENSE CONTINUES TO GET WORSE AND WORSE! You can see with your Own Eyes that even David can barely keep happiness on his face and instead has Sad Eyes. SAD EYES! Because HE ALREADY KNOWS…

And if you’re gonna blame Licht for the couple that haven’t panned out then you’re just gonna HAVE TO give him credit for the MAJORITY that has…

And besides, who will we replace him with? Greenburg? Has Greenberg ever even played the actual game of football himself or IS HE AN ACCOUNTANT? I’m afraid AN ACCOUNTANT ISN’T GOING TO BE THE BEST IDEA FOR FINDING TALENT FOR A PRO FOOTBALL TEAM MUCH LESS A PEE WEE TEAM!!!!

You BETTER BE counting your lucky stars that we have that man in that seat and he is getting BETTER as he goes. I’m not sure he even WANTS TO keep being a GM. Maybe we should be grateful for the amount of time we do have with him.

    Thats It!

    GO BUCS!

  12. NE Fan Says:

The buzz left with BA & Brady. LVD sounded like a clone of Bowles. Same Ole story different day. Like how he praised the 49ers coaching staff and made no mention of the Bucs, just the players.

  13. ModHairKen Says:

(You may have heard this before, but the lack of Bucs chatter even with a Bucs star on Adams’ show demonstrates what Joe has been typing for months: That there is just no buzz whatsoever with the Bucs.)

Why should there be? Seriously. What has this team done? Beaten a top team? Nope. Run off a win streak? Not even. Leading the league in any stat? Nah.

  14. Falconrap Says:

When you have a defense that tends to give up big numbers to good QB’s and an offense with a QB leading them to a whopping 7 points in 3 quarters…regularly…then, yeah, you’re not likely to get talked about a lot.

  15. Nick2 Says:

Bowles doesnt want to offend future hall of famers JTS and Logan Hall. I mean why sit them when they arent pperforming while yourc season goes up in smoke????Thats something only a good competent head coach would do.

Hey joes, you get paid to have this negative site? It’s Thanksgiving. This script is getting worn out.

    “Negative”

    Ha! “Negative” or accurate?

    ^^^^^^
No, we just have to blame Todd Bowles for not playing the best players Licht gave him so that disproves all 18 of your unnecessary paragraphs

Sound similar to Belichick, the Patriots and Tom Brady right? 😂

  20. Jack Clark Says:

    “Misplaced NE Fan” 😂😂😂😂😂😂

  21. NE Fan Says:

Patriots went to a playoff the year Brady left, let’s see how the Bucs fair.

  22. Obvious Says:

Yeah Jack you are complaining quite well but YOU HAVE NO ANSWERS!

Talk about unnecessary Blah Blah Blah… You’re right I’m wasting my time with the short sighted… How about credit for what the man HAS DONE! I’d be THE FIRST to agree with you “IF it were true”.

You guys come up with a Better GM prospect and THEN we can all talk.

    Good luck with that…

  23. Glass Half Full Guy Says:

Yes the best pass rushers should be on the field and not cheering on the team from the sideline.

As for Kay Adam’s, I love her sporting goods commercials. I could listen to her talk about Dick’s all day.
