Bucs Victory Called

November 25th, 2023

Snow is supposed to fall in Indianapolis early Sunday morning, but one seasoned and reasoned analyst sees Tampa Bay staying warm and fuzzy on the sidelines of the Colts’ dome and emerging victorious.

It’s a Bucs season on the brink of something, as the Bucs sit with a 4-6 record and a pillowy soft remaning schedule.

NBC Sports film guru Chris Simms, the former Bucs quarterback, has called a Buccaneers win, 24-20, on Pro Football TalkSimms sees a run-reliant Colts team being unable to pound the ball on the Bucs. Perhaps it’s because they’ll be down their starting center? But it’s mostly because Simms says the Bucs’ one legitimate strength is run defense.

Sportsbooks have the Colts (5-5) favored by 2 1/2 points.

There’s real improvement in the Bucs offense lately, Simms said, led by “Baker’s big right arm” and the Bucs’ dynamic duo at receiver. He’s impressed by the Bucs being able to “rip off chunks of yards.”

Ultimately, Simms doesn’t believe the Colts are good enough to take advantage of the Bucs secondary.

Simms’ co-host, Mike Florio, picked the Colts to win despite the Bucs being “more desperate” and Todd Bowles aware that he’s on a hot seat.

There is a split decision on this game at JoeBucsFan.com world headquarters: one Joe picking a Bucs loss and Ira Kaufman and the other Joe picking a glorious Tampa Bay victory.

One agreeable point for everyone: It’s a true must-win game for the Bucs.

It will be a split between Joe and Ira, A Glorious Loss or a tie.

  2. ModHairKen Says:

    Simms and Florio. Yeah. Boring.

  3. sdm5821 Says:

Sat what you want about the running game, or lack there of, but Rachaad White been added to Bucs injury report as questionable won’t help.

  4. Capt2fish Says:

I wonder who Joe Thiesmans son thinks is going to win? I would put more stock into his take than Phil’s kid.

I’m not so sure about this. David is out. That exposes two ILB positions. Hope I’m wrong.

  6. Tony marks Says:

Regardles of the run game I have zero confidence that the defense won’t make the colt’s passing offense look much better than it is.

  7. Dave Pear Says:

The Bucs head coach Todd Bowles, whose biggest strength is losing.

    4-7 on its way.

  8. SufferingSince76 Says:

The time for desperation was at least two games ago.

  9. Defense Rules Says:

    ‘Pillowy soft remaining schedule’ Joe?

Colts, Jaguars, Packers & Saints all have better records than we do, and the Falcons have the same record as us (and have already beaten us). I wouldn’t call any of those teams ‘pillowy’.

Worst team on our schedule now is the Carolina Panthers. They’ve only won 1 game … against the Houston Texans. And how did we do against those same Texans?

You’re spot-on with your bottom line though … ‘It’s a true must-win game for the Bucs’.

  10. Buc1987 Says:

    4-7.

  11. HC Grover Says:

A rock hard pillow good grief

  12. Show Me the TDs Says:

At this point, I don’t care. I just want Bowles gone. This season is heading the way as all of his other HC seasons.

  13. Gipper Says:

Bucs gets started tomorrow with a W. Will finish season 10-7. Hope the constant criticism of Bowles, Canales and Mayfield will end. Have a feeling it won’t because most NFL fans are beer guzzling goons who don’t really know the game.

  14. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

The Panthers are the worst team in the NFL…unless we throw the game…then losing would be extremely embarrassing. I think it would seal Bowles fate.

  15. Duane in Sanford Says:

The Colts defense gives up a lot of points and a lot of yards. If the defense can take care of business, this is a winnable game. It comes down to Bowles. The last thing he needs is to lose in a shootout. LFG.

  16. Marine Buc Says:

    Indy – 6
    Tampa – 3

Low scoring ugly game from two ugly offenses.

Let me know when it’s time to talk about the draft, free agency and who will our next head coach be.

I’m going to take a nap.

  17. Pewter power Says:

Defensive coordinator is playing zone with man corners and the offensive coordinator trying to be a run first offense what could go wrong

  18. Cobraboy Says:

I will not be surprised if Indu gashes the Buc “defense” on the ground.

Well, sure feels like Christmas on the Site of Misfit Fans. Of course, they’re their usual warm and fuzzy selves busily wrapping spite-filled greetings to the team they say they love, to troll. My Christmas wish is for the Bucs to win the next 7 games (I’ll settle for 6) so that Santa can fill the doubter’s stockings with coal and help me shove them up their chimneys. But this is the time of the year to forgive, isn’t it? I’ll do that just before we play our first playoff game. RESIGN BAKER.

  20. NYbucsfan Says:

Didn’t we just score 14 points? Is that what we consider improvement now?

  21. mick Says:

NYbucsfan Says: “Didn’t we just score 14 points?”

Yes but we got 7 in only 3 quarters and that’s near impossible to do.

  22. PowerOfPewter Says:

The 4 remaining division games are the must-win games. Vs. the Colts, Packers, and Jaguars it’s probably necessary to win at least 1 of the three. The most helpful is against the Packers, as another Conference win likely helps in case of tie-breaker. A 5-2 run in that manner probably gets the Bucs the division title and home playoff game. While the Bucs have shown no indication of being able to actually pull off a 5-2 run, this fan can always hope for miracles.

  23. infomeplease Says:

If Bowles “plays to win” this game instead of “playing to not lose” the Bucs do stand a chance of getting a “w”. Of course he hasn’t used this strategy since the 2nd or 3rd game. We”ll see how it goes! All that soft zone and taking a knee with 30 seconds left in the half has got to go!! Or Bowles will be a the one going!!!

  24. SufferingSince76 Says:

Some people are only on this site because of one player and they don’t know jack about long suffering Bucs fans. Especially not enough to try to scold them.

  25. Bee Says:

Gipper has got to be Todd Bowles commenting. The HC, OC and QB will continue to get criticized the more we lose. And I believe the Bucs will snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory!

  26. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

Criticism of the current situation is not being a fake fan. I am a life long fan and want the best for the team. Is this the best we should expect? Lose tomorrow and the real fans here will rightfully demand massive change. Anything else is unacceptable imo. I am a real fan gents – don’t get it confused.

  27. Mike Johnson Says:

I have confidence in my Bucs whatsoever this year. We kinda suck. But..I think our Offense saves the day on this one. BUCS 27 COLTS 21

  28. orlbucfan Says:

Well, if you yahoos are genuine long-suffering Bucs fans, start sounding like it! All you do is slam the team constantly! I get the joes doing it cos they own this site. They gotta get clicks to make moolah. If the Bucs were in the Panthers’ shoes, which they have been plenty of years, the grousing is warranted. They’re not. They won a d####d SB for the 2nd time 3 seasons ago. They also set a NFL record doing it. If the two HCs will call the right game, yeah you, Canales, they’ll win tomorrow.

  29. MF Bucs Says:

I’m in Indy for the game, don’t let me down Bucs!
