No Noise On Private Throwing Sessions

July 23rd, 2023

QB Kyle Trask

While hydrating — Big Storm style — 65 hours from the start of training camp, Joe finds it intriguing that there have been no leaked reports of Kyle Trask or Baker Mayfield rounding up Bucs receivers for precamp throwing sessions.

Didn’t Trask learn anything from Tom Brady?

(Sarcasm with the Trask question, so calm down Trask cultists.)

Mayfield did that when he was with the Browns and Trask knew of Brady scheduling time in Tampa with select pass catchers.

Perhaps the competing Bucs quarterbacks will reveal their bonding sessions when chatting with media this week, but Joe finds it doubtful that an unofficial practice session would have stayed quiet if it had happened. Rachaad White and Chris Godwin each did a national interview last week and didn’t reference any gathering.

Games aren’t won in mid-July on a high school field, but Joe thought Trask and Mayfield would have been fighting through the summer for every possible competitive edge.

    LOL…

Kyle: Hey Mike – What’s up Chris? I’m going to need you guys to show up for an extra throwing session I am holding this weekend.

Mike: That’s cute kid. Now go get your shine box…

  2. ATLBuc Says:

I would be surprised if there were no practice sessions

    Bowles Curse. The Lost Season.

  4. Hodad Says:

    Sessions start this week.

  5. DoooshLaRue Says:

Remember when Joe thought it was so cool that Stewart McClown gathered up the gang to play catch.

    That paid some huge dividends.

    #lovestewie!

Or Jamies holding throwing sessions in Houston or A$M
What a joke. Plenty of time to find his # 1

So Joe are you apart of the Brady cult or Caleb Williams cult ? Why do you have to try and insult the fan base because some of us hope the guy be good? That’s why I say the things I say about the fan base and bucs meadi by saying this is a loser fan base on this site. You rather tank wich means lose on purpose and you call that a winning mind set?? Let’s see if franchises like Pittsburgh or Green Bay talking about tanking. Even their fans don’t talk about losing on purpose only franchises and fan bases like the bucs rather lose on purpose!!

  9. Tbbucs3 Says:

Trask holding private sessions with Bucs WRs isnt a national media story like it was with Brady, thats the difference.

Im positive that Trask and/or Mayfield have held private sessions but the reason you havent heard reports on it are because it’s a tremendously boring news story.

  10. Iamabuc Says:

I’m with you OneilBuc. Our fan base is so use to losing that is getting ridiculous. First thing they think about is tanking. SMH. Look, no team can or will win the Superbowl every year. All one can do is always hope for the best. I mean, no one can get the best players in the draft all of the time, it doesn’t work like that. We have to roll with what we got, and I believe we are in pretty good shape as far as players and QB (given the cap constraints).
So let’s ride with what we got and let the chips fall were they may. I’m ok with Baker. With the money we had, we got a pretty decent one. Give the guy a chance. One never knows. Just Go BUCS. Jeeessuuuss!

  11. Wild Bill Says:

Can’t be worse than last year. Even mighty Brady looked bad. Don’t care who starts at qb. A good run game and a good defense can be competitive. A short to medium pass offense can work for either Baker or Trask if the run game is effective. A poor run game and pass blocking made Brady look mediocre last season. If the O and D lines play well the Bucs will be OK and competitive in their own division and maybe surprise a few teams from the other divisions.

  12. Sly Pirate Says:

Marine … i 1000% agree with your perspective. No one is showing to Trask’s private throwing sessions.

  13. garro Says:

Now those are great teammates to have right there.

    Go Bucs!

  14. Joker's Paradigm Says:

I agree with OneilBuc. It gets annoying and very sad. There is a big difference in between being realistic and being pessimistic. No sure I could cheer for a team that purposely tanks just to get a draft pick.
