  1. D-Rok Says:

Honestly, quite unsure between Trask and Mayfield. At least there’s SOME tape on Woolford.

Need more data before I form an opinion.

  2. Rand Says:

Kyle Trask – the “Original Future Plan” that we all were comfortably led to believe.

  3. Fred McNeil Says:

It’s still rumored that TB12 could return according to Antoine Winfield…..

  4. Casual Observer Says:

Looks like they had a fine draft – especially for the D. Lots of reshuffling on the O line. So, I think we must wait and see what happens in the pre-season. I am optimistic (as always) but must wait.

  5. Fred McNeil Says:

    Hey, it’s fixed. Thank you.

  6. Mostly Peaceful Trask Fan Says:

So far 65 people want to tank in an epically embarrassing fashion.

  7. Dooley Says:

Baker Mayfield has won the popularity contest, but Trask imo doesn’t have to do much to look just as good. Be smart, make the best decisions from rep to rep, and when in a tight spot 1.) maximize ball security, 2.) stay composed and 3.) don’t be a hero. I’d even be willing to argue Trask is a better physical athlete than Mayfield and probably brings just as much if not more to the team in terms of being an athlete. Mayfield just has a longer track record in comparison to Trask, and I saw a graphic over the weekend that showed how similar their final years in college were.

  8. Mostly Peaceful Trask Fan Says:

This is before people have seen a single preseason snap

  9. Nicholas Carlson Says:

Trask, but only if he earns it, because that would be a really good sign for our team and its future. But it doesn’t sound like he’s going to earn it…

  10. Leighroy Says:

I want Trask bc I want to see him succeed and be the qb of the future. Sadly I don’t think it will happen, both bc he seems behind schedule and may be outplayed by Baker. I would be thrilled to be proven wrong.

  11. 1#bucsfan Says:

It’s bakers job to lose. After seeing what trask did his last year at UF got me excited about him as our QB. he would have much better weapons with Bucs then UF. I don’t watch college so I’m not a UF fan. Just personally think trask has more upside than baker. If it’s baker or trask ima root for them to be successful. Let’s go Bucs

  12. Craig Says:

A good QB is a consistent QB, so the long run shows Trask might be it.

He had a bad day in mini camp, but was otherwise consistent and was consistently improving.

What the coaches do is the mystery of the universe.

  13. Voice of Truth Says:

It’s a joke right? Confidence is in no way shape or form found in either of the 3 options we currently have at QB

Baker is going to be Baker – just good enough to get you beat late n the game with a bad turnover or boneheaded decision

Kyle is going to be a deer in the headlights with the speed of the NFL VS the SEC he last played in a few years ago…going to take a half season for him to get a feel for it

Todd doesn’t have time for either option

  14. D-Rome Says:

I voted for Baker but honestly I want the QB who wins the QB competition to start.

  15. Stanglassman Says:

1#- You didn’t have to tell us you weren’t a college FB or Gator fan. We knew.

  16. Fred McNeil Says:

What D-rome says: may the best QB win.

  17. Fred McNeil Says:

Honestly, it’s better for the BUCS if Baker balls out in camp, but Trask beats him anyway.
We only pay Baker $4 mil. Save 4.5 mil towards 2024. And we have one more cheap year of Trask.

  18. Rod Munch Says:

    The ‘other’ option?

    Mike Glennon…

What does Mayfield bring to the table other than “moxie”? Anyone know?

    Spunk.

Nicholas Carlson Says: “Trask … it doesn’t sound like he’s going to earn it.”

Based on what? Everything I’ve read is that he had quite a good spring camp. The comments from Bucs players have been that the competition is close.

  21. D-Rome Says:

Experience being a signal caller of an NFL team that won 11 games and one playoff game.

  22. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I want Baker Mayfield to start…so he can take the hits while the new OL gets their act together.

  23. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    D-Rome Says
“Experience being a signal caller of an NFL team that won 11 games and one playoff game. ”

    And? What since then?

It’s a fair counterpoint, however I will point out that he had the NFL’s best running game, one of the best offensive lines, and that year he had a great defense. He wasn’t asked to do much – but, with that said, played well – by far the best of his career.

I hope he can play well since I hate the idea of watching a boring, dull team that goes 6-11. I’d much rather see the team tank and win 3 games, or keep the Bucs in the playoff hunt, but I see 5-12 or 6-11 for this team, with this coach. Now if Arians was coach, I think they could win like 9 games and would stick around all year, but with Bowles, nope.

  26. Buc1987 Says:

    Trask.

  27. Oddball Says:

So 26% (ish) of JBF’ers are making 90% of the noise on the Traskfield “competition”

  28. garro Says:

I do not think the results of this one are anything more than a glorified populartiry contest. I have a hard time believing that this percentage represents the mostly informed take of most of the regular posters here on JBF.

    Go Bucs
