Happy Fourth Of July!

July 4th, 2023

Happy Independence Day!

Today for Joe is like Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s, all rolled into one big bottlerocket!

That’s what the Fourth of July is for Joe, easily Joe’s favorite holiday. The only thing missing is live football, though we did have some Saturday night!

Today is all about fun, hitting the beaches, hitting the water, drinking like a fish, grilling cattle, hog, chicken, buffalo and whatever animal you like, and at the end of the day, watching people blow up stuff (which drives howling dogs throughout [oh, no] Pasco County running for couch pillows to shred).

It’s also the height of summer when women wear scant clothing to show off their bronzed bodies fresh from frolicking on the beaches. What’s wrong with that? Not one GD thing.

Celebrate your freedoms, Bucs fans. Celebrate the Bucs staying relevant in the NFC South! Joe hopes all readers have a helluva day and have enjoyed this extra, extra long weekend to celebrate Uncle Sam’s birthday.

Training camp is just over three weeks away!

(Sorry, no JPP jokes. Too easy.)

    Happy 4th Everyone!

Please be very careful if you handle fireworks.

Its the perfect day to ponder a few inspirational quotes from one of the first and greatest of all Americans – Benjamin Franklin

    – “Without freedom of thought there can be no such thing as wisdom; and no such thing as public liberty, without freedom of speech.”

    – “Freedom of speech is a principal pillar of a free government; when this support is taken away, the constitution of a free society is dissolved, and tyranny is erected on its ruins. Republics…derive their strength and vigor from a popular examination into the action of the magistrates.”

    – “Frequent recurrence to fundamental principles…is absolutely necessary to preserve the blessings of liberty and keep a government free.”

    – “Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

I don’t celebrate the 4th of July because at time my were slaves. But do celebrate June teenth that’s a real American holiday for everyone. After the revolutionary war more slave ships came in this country. My grand dad grand dad was a running away slave out of Georgia . So when I was in high school I asked my teacher why do we celebrate the 4th of July and we were slaves and he said that’s a good question. June teenth just pass and I didn’t see happy Jun teenth on this site. So I had to post this fact about the 4th of July.

Oneilbuc, you could have chosen to wish us all a happy Juneteenth, but you opted not.

The truth doesn’t hurt me. O’Neil. I wasn’t born yet and all my relatives were in Ireland at the time. We tried to BBQ a slab of corned beef on our first Independence Day.. We almost got deported for that.
