Calijah Kancey: Football Player, Not A Baseball Pitcher

May 24th, 2023

Slider needs work.

Somewhere on Long Island, Baba Booey doesn’t have to worry about his shameful first pitch at a Mets game.

As is the custom in just about every MLB city that shares a spot in the local sports scene with an NFL team, the MLB team invites the first round draft pick to come to a game and throw out a first pitch.

It’s a cool moment for all involved. The fans love it. The baseball team likes it because it shows they can be friends with their rival for sports dollars. And the NFL likes it because it gives their big springtime investment some inexpensive marketing and goodwill.

Joe’s going to guess Calijah Kancey won’t be throwing out another first pitch any time soon.

In what can only be called gagging on the infield, Kancey, at a Rays game earlier this week, blew major chunks with his first pitch as he pretty much spiked the ball halfway to the plate as the ball bounced well away from the plate to the first base side.

It was uh-guh-lee.

But let’s face it. Kancey is not a pitcher. Joe’s going to bet he hasn’t thrown a pitch from the mound since he was a little kid.

Hey Calijah, if you are invited back to the Fruitdome to throw out a first pitch, might be wise to take 10 minutes to get some pitches in and warm up.

Yikes.

To embarrass yourself in front of dozens of people like that… shameful.

Anywho, I thought the Rays moved to Montreal or something. Who knew they were still around.

Could have taken over Raley spot on the mound. Unlike the regular bullpen, he couldn’t get worse. Now I’m wondering if it was a few nights ago where trop infield was very wet to start.

Yeah, Go Yankees!!! We spend More money than 10 other teams combined and have 1 championship in the past 20 years to show for it! Until a salary cap is installed and everyone is on an even playing field, anything you win is tainted, and let’s not even get started with that joke little league right porch. You can cram your 20 some odd worthless championships where the RAYS don’t shine. Only maybe the original 6 in the NHL can compare to the amount of BS (We get all the best players championships) the Harlem globe trotters won alot too, doesn’t necessarily equal impressive.
