“Everybody Can’t Be Great All The Time”

April 11th, 2023

Ya’ gotta believe!

Bucs running back Rachaad White had a message for fans who may be down in the dumps because Tom Brady retired (?) and a handful of fan favorites are now gone.

“Stick with us.”

In a sitdown with WTVT-TV Channel 13 sports anchor Kevin O’Donnell, White was asked what he would say to Bucs fans who think the team will have very down years transitioning after the greatest of all time, to Kyler Traskfield.

“Stick with us,” White said. “Everybody can’t be great all the time.”

White noted that there are many Bucs fans that have hung with the team through all the ups and downs in his somewhat short Bucs history. Why give up now? he said.

“That’s kind of how it goes,” White said of the roller coaster that is the NFL. There is always going to be a [period of] drought and there is always going to be [a period of success].

“Stick with us. Believe in us. We believe in ourselves. That’s all you need.”

Well, that and another running back. And a pass rusher. Maybe a quarterback. And a left tackle. And another safety and tight end. But yeah, that’s all you need.

“Everybody can’t be great all the time”

    Tom Brady disagrees

  2. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

White said. “Everybody can’t be great all the time.”

    I can.

  3. Fred McNeil Says:

Jack Clark, you are so right.

  4. Fred McNeil Says:

    I mean Jack

  5. Pewter Power Says:

I should have known some fools would immediately bring up Brady as if he has zero interceptions and pick 6’s. That’s life you have good days and bad days hopefully my fellow joebucsfans have more good days than bad

  6. Ds Says:

    Go RB1

  7. Oddball Says:

The ashtray, this paddle game and the remote control! And that’s all I need…

  8. Fred McNeil Says:

We pay the people at Walmart and McD’s to be ok. We pay football players to be great. If you’re not great we get someone else. You don’t make $20 bucks an hour to make donuts and pour coffee. You get paid to be CHAMPIONS. Can’t be a champion? Go poor coffee and make donuts like everybody else.

  9. Austin Says:

Runs like leveon bell, waits for the hole, scans, wiggles and blasts through and he’s off. Hopefully will be a bigger stronger leveon bell

  10. Goatfarmer Says:

I mean, he’s got to say that right?! What did folks think he would say? He probably wanted to say,

“Man, I’m with you. We have a head coach who hasn’t had a winning season since the last decade, who turned a 14 win team into an 8 win team. We got smoked by anyone decent. And this year our roster is worse. I wouldn’t watch us either,”

  11. Geno711 Says:

White seems such a positive person. Rooting for him more than others because of his outlook on life.

  12. Letsbucinggo Says:

    Proper leadership you can.

  13. Ben Says:

Jack, Tom may look at this and not agree with the statement, but he truly wasn’t great last year. Great leaders can go through difficulties as well. We’re not perfect. Rachaad’s keeping it real.

  14. Dooley Says:

Ah, nice to see Rachaad White has a firm grasp on reality. Adversity comes for us all at some point, but how you weather the storm speaks to your strength and resilience.

  15. Allbuccedup Says:

Bucs and Glazers need to realize its time to get a younger Head Coach. Guys like Bowles are old school and too stubborn to change. Plus guy is apparently okay with losing. Run run pass punt is not how you run an offense. I hope Canales works out but there has to be a reason he wasn’t promoted to offensive coordinator two years ago with Seattle. I guess thats why to Bucs hired more offensive coaches a couple of weeks ago.

Sometimes you get the Bear and sometimes the Bear gets you. That’s life

  17. Goatfarmer Says:

Wouldn’t it be great if he just goes off?

  18. Rod Munch Says:

Leftwich’s entire run game consisted of… run up the middle on 1st down into an 8-man front. SHOCK when that got you 1 yard nearly every time.

To think White is to blame for that is just stupid. Bijan wasn’t getting you yard more than White got last year. Neither would Barkley. Neither would Emmitt Smith. The only RB who could have ever been successful in that situation was Barry Sanders, that’s all, not even Jim Brown was doing squat.

Just give White the ball with a competent NFL play caller (and who knows if we have one since he’s never done it before) and he’s going to get you 1500 yards rushing, 700 yards receiving, and be a pro-bowler.

  19. Goatfarmer Says:

Rod that would be AWESOME. I’d bet the under on those numbers, but, yeah.

  20. Rod Munch Says:

I’d obviously wait to see who the Bucs add at RB, if anyone, before making any bets. But if they go into the season with the idea of using White as the workhorse back, he’s going to be ultra productive. He showed enough last year for me to be confident in that, along with his speed/agility numbers, and his college tape. He could, I think, be the next Le’Veon Bell.

  21. Aroden168753 Says:

Rod it wasn’t the play calling it was the O line! without a good o line the run game really struggles to get anything going. Because if there are no running lanes to go through how are you going to get past the line of scrimmage?

  22. steele Says:

This right here is the problem with not only this team but much of pro sports today:

“Everybody can’t be great all the time.”

Lazy attitude, lack of standards and merit. Anyone who thinks like this should be fired.

Dear Rachaad, YOUR JOB IS TO BE GREAT AT ALL TIMES. YOU HAVE NO OTHER JOB. GET TO WORK.

(You see why Tom Brady could not get anyone on this team to buy in to his leadership any more? He was a relic who demanded excellence and effort from guys around him. The children ignored the crazy old man.)

  23. AJP Says:

You know Joe sometimes you’re just too damn snarky! Rashad White is the kind of kid you want on your team. A positive hard worker a team leader and all around good kid! Sure we have some needs but it’s better to have a kid like him at running back and someone that’s from morose and means about how bad things are all the time, instead of looking at the positives like he does! You’re a good writer and I enjoy a lot reading your thoughts but once in awhile you’re a too negative. We all know the Bucks are going to be challenged this year but it’s a challenge every year it was a challenge last year and I think this team’s got a good nucleus we have some needs I am confidence that will fill those needs and who knows maybe we’ll win the division again this year!!
