Vegas, Baby!

February 1st, 2023

LeGarrette Blount on Tom Brady.

One guy who personified the ineptitude of the Lost Decade was former Bucs stud running back LeGarrette Blount.

Blount had a strong rookie year for the Bucs in 2010 when the Bucs flirted with a division title, only to lose a wild card berth tiebreaker to the Packers who went on to win the Super Bowl. Blount was a 1,000-yard rusher in 13 games.

What if, indeed.

Blount was shipped to the Belicheats after being labeled a cancer by those who pulled strings within the Bucs organization. That cancer turned out to be a three-time Super Bowl winner. Blount won two rings with the Belicheats and one with the Eagles.

Blount also led the league in 2016 with 18 rushing touchdowns.

Blount, along with others like Aqib Talib and Michael Bennett — and several others — helped proved not only did the Bucs not know how to recognize talent in the draft, they had no clue how to deal with people or to develop that talent.

The Lost Decade!

Why is Joe bringing this up? Well, Blount spoke to Christopher Price of the Boston Globe about — who else? — his former teammate, Tom Brady.

Blount offered his very unique take on how Brady will select his next team.

Blount confessed he’s not 100 percent sure if Brady will play for the Bucs next year. But Blount did say there was “an extremely high chance” Brady will play in 2023.

So where? Simple. It’s Vegas, baby, he said. But why? Well, the answer is right in front of our faces.

Blount noted Brady is now a single guy and likely wants to return to living the life of a swinging bachelor. Few cities are better than Las Vegas for a wealthy single guy, Blount said. A guy like Brady who has Eastern European beauty queens/Instagram models fawning over his every move, would be an exceptional swordsman there.

Simply put, Blount is keeping it real.

Joe always liked Blount.

Everybody knows he will go to the 49ers. The 49ers has been in need of a QB for some years now. They could have won at least 2 SBs if they had got Brady. If they don’t go after Brady now it means they are more dysfunctional than the Bucs, which I doubt.

Time to move on and rebuild this team.

His $35M dead cap hit will hurt but it’s time to get our salary cap situation under control and clear the books…

  30. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Well, Brady retirement should put an end to the endless speculation.

  32. Paratrooper Buc Says:

Good for Brady! Thankful for the SB and two NFC South champion wins. Saw him at playoffs and will miss seeing his LFG shout and all he has done. The GOAT! Now the Bucs can be honest and rebuild. Look to the future and build towards it. Keep the young talent and let the older talent go to FA (Keep David and White).

  33. D-Rome Says:

I’ve never seen Joe this late to the table. Must be typing a tribute piece.

That piece should have been written a week ago and stored in a safe place in case this happens.

Guys, Joe isn’t working on timetables and aspiring to spit up “Breaking News!” that’s breaking everywhere without a little context. Joe loves the passion of Bucs fans, but Joe never has been about that. –Joe

  34. rsjcheapseats Says:

    Steven007 – Amen.
But they are as split over Mac Jones as Bucs fans were over Winston.
The Pats are just another team since Brady left.
    Alas, so are we.

  35. DungyDance Says:

Thanks for the awesome times Tom! Restored some pride and relevance to our team, even if only for a brief run.

  36. SufferingSince76 Says:

    Now it really gets interesting.

  37. Adam’s Angry Says:

Reading this after the Brady Retirement Announcement makes Blount sound like an ID10T.

  38. Goatfarmer Says:

Moving in from the players mentioned were the ultimate responsibility of the worst GM in Bucs history, the legendary 28-52 Mark Dumbernik.

Just awful, so over his head. Believed his own press clippings.

  39. DJB Says:

Adams Angry: Yes, Blount is an idiot, but so are a lot of other’s opinions on what Brady would do.
