Only One QB Is Under Contract

February 1st, 2023

Kyle Trask time?

With Tom Brady retired and Blaine Gabbert hopefully right behind him or departing in free agency, only one quarterback has a Buccaneers contract for the 2023 season.

That’s 2021 second-round pick Kyle Trask, the Florida Gators start who has been buried on the bench for two years.

Joe pleaded to let Trask start in Week 17’s meaningless game this season, but that made too much sense. Instead, the Bucs started Brady, a mix of starters and backups, and then pulled most of them by halftime. What a strong experience it would have been for Trask to face the Falcons’ starters all game.

So is this the beginning of the Trask era? Trask has spent two years in what should have been an extraordinary and historic QB incubator.

Might the Bucs draft a quarterback now, like Rondé Barber suggested?

Joe has no issue if the Bucs choose to move forward with Trask in 2023. What’s the worst that could happen? If he sucks, they’re in line to draft a QB in 2024.

Joe also has no issue if the Bucs want to score a quality veteran quarterback they believe can keep the team’s head above water while the roster is retooled for a big-time run in two years.

As long as the Bucs don’t channel 2014 and subject the fanbase to Josh McCown and a phony promise of trying to win, there are merits to many QB directions.

IMHO, we need to find out what we have or do not have in Trask.

LOL, got hit with the duplicate content filter again

  3. Tnoles Says:

Lol! I think I just threw up in my mouth. No thanks on Trask. Go get Carr or Kimmy G

  4. Austin Christopher Lewis Says:

Let Trask start, used a second on him and sat behind the GOAT. If he fails, we get a top pick next draft. If he wind, bingo

  5. Tnoles Says:

    Jimmy G sorry

  6. NutterBuccer Says:

Time to build an identity Mr. Licht and Bowles. Pick a direction and run with it.

  7. Parrishbucsfan Says:

Joe please give us other options besides Trask please

  8. YucsBall Says:

    Go Bucs

  9. Razor Ramone Says:

Ominous times, the good TB has gone and we’re stuck with the bad TB.

  10. Allbuccedup Says:

Sign another FA QB see what you have in Trask if nothing draft one in 2024 we will more than likely have a much higher pick anyway.

  11. Thomas Edrington Says:

Won’t matter……another losing season and Bowles is shown the door —

  12. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

In regard to Trask, no one really knows how he will do yet, so anyone saying he is a bad option is blowing smoke.

That said, I believe going with David Carr would be the better option…provided we do not have to trade for him.

Carr would be more expensive than Brady, who took less money for the team.

  13. beano Says:

LOL all the Trask haters wanted Johnny Manziel and Jameis Winston. It doesn’t occur to them that there is a reason they are not paid for their opinions.

  14. BucsFan81 Says:

Well they will have to have more than 1 QB on the roster. The big question is who is the offensive coordinator with only 1 QB on the roster.

  15. Steven007 Says:

Joe doesn’t have to say it, pretty much every reasonable option is on the table. Granted, none of them sound enticing. There’s Mayfield, darnold, car of course, and plenty of others who are ” ” available and could be had. It will be interesting however to see which direction we go. Darnold would be interesting given his relationship with the coach. Not that I think he’s the answer because he almost certainly is not. But then who thought Geno Smith would work with Seattle?

  16. rsjcheapseats Says:

Brady always played the last game before the playoffs – that is why Trask didn’t start the last game.

The guy wants to play. Why that is so hard for Joe to process is beyond me – and I seriously doubt Bowles was going to tell Brady no.

    Rodgers or bust.

  17. D-Rome Says:

The cap hit on Brady’s contract is disastrous unless the Bucs can rework something. It’s unlikely Brady has turned in his retirement papers to the league office yet so there’s still time.

  18. Bnasty Says:

Would anyone be opposed to Hendon Hooker from the Vols maybe third round?

  19. MadMax Says:

    Hendon Hooker

    1st LT Jaelyn Duncan
    2nd QB Hendon Hooker
    3ed CB Mekhi Garner

    Its a start….

  20. Jack Sparrow Says:

Trask is the Diamond in the rough. Watch out to all the haters, he will blow your mind.

  21. Alexandre Nascimento Says:

I would like to see Trask for the 2023 season
Maybe, just maybe, he can be the answer for the francise future.
If not, at least we will know for sure and do not risk to see him succeed somewhere else and we’ll have an early pick on 2024 Draft

  22. Trey Says:

Trask doesn’t excited me in the very least. We need someone else

  23. Cardiac kidz Says:

Jimmy G. or Derek Carr will give you an honest shot to win the division again. My first choice is Carr, only because Jimmy can’t stay on the field, never has finished a season

  24. fartman Says:

yeah I think Bucs need to have a cap reset this year… take their medicine and have a better cap situation in 2024.. which means… start Trask

  25. Paratrooper Buc Says:

It depends on the “plan” the Bucs have. The laughable idea of “reload” with $35 million due to Brady in 2023 then $10 million in 2024 and 2025 seems crazy. Just rebuild by trading who you don’t want for picks, clear out the cap, and keep young talent. If that means Trask then go for it if it saves money for follow on years. Bucs struggled with Brady and the team we had so move on and focus on the future. We won’t be competitive till at least 2025 so just embrace with a focus on being competitive in 3-5 years.

  26. Dooley Says:

Trask vs. Vet QB vs. Hendon Hooker!! @MadMax welcome aboard lol

  27. Guzzie Says:

At least the offseason won’t be boring

  28. Killian Says:

Can the Bucs even afford a veteran QB? We were $55 million over cap. Brady retiring brings that to about $31 million. Are they going to restructure contracts or trade away bums like Smith, Brate etc?

  29. Buc4evr Says:

If the Bucs want to stay relevant next year then we need a proven vet. Carr or maybe Jimmy G.

  30. NEfan Says:

Trash, Trash, Trash, Trash. Trash coaching Trash.

  31. FortMyersDave Says:

Start Trask this fall, if he sucks like many on this board thinks, the Bucs will go 3-14 and simply draft a qb in 2024. If he shows any talent whatsoever, well it would be surprising but keep in mind that whole NFC South does not look too good for 2023. Everyone is busting on the Bucs for having the 2nd worst cap hell to clear through this coming year, well numero uno is the Aints with no real QB either and a nimrod for a head coach just like the Bucs. The ATL and Carolina might be the faves for the division but I bet Vegas would put their over/under win totals at under 8 or 8.5 along with the Bucs and Aints (they both could get a Jet like 4 or 5). Good chance 8-9 or 7-10 could win the division again unless someone takes a major step forward. Probably not going to be the Bucs under Toilet Bowles but can anyone confidently pick any of the other 3 bottom feeders in the division to surprise and be a real above mediocre team?

  32. WillieG Says:

Another 10 years of suck on the horizon. We have to suffer through one more losing season with Bowles, then a rebuild with a new offensive coach. History repeating itself.

  33. mark2001 Says:

Title Town Trask will lead us to the promised land….

  34. ChrisBuc23 Says:

Nah we are good on Trask, how about we go draft a solid young mobile Qb for the future. If trask was worthy we would have seen more of him by now. Also we need to get more speed on offense and shore up our pass rush some more if we can. We need a series of solid draft picks to help this year that’s for sure. All the bandwagoners can leave finally too. 💯

  35. mark2001 Says:

Dave… NO just got a couple more high draft picks for Payton. And since neither of us has a starting quality QB this year, I see no reason they shouldn’t actually be a better team than we are. Stop drinking the Kool-Aid about this next season being a repeat of the last one.

  36. mark2001 Says:

Isn’t it encouraging that we have a guy in Trask, that we had been seriously debating should be the number 2 qb, right behind Brady, because he looked ready to push Brady for the starting job, and set the league on fire? What? It was just a dream? Oh man, we are in deep stuff.

  37. Buddha Says:

Get real Joe. Week 17 was never going to prove anything. And the Buccaneers are never going to intentionally lose games. Too much remaining talent on this team. Everyone thought that Carolina was going to do that. How well did that work?

  38. stevek Says:

I was at the UF homecoming game when Frank’s got hurt, insert Trask, and he almost came back against Drew Locke and Mizzou. He impressed me.

I’m excited for him to get a chance to compete. I don’t understand the hate when he haven’t seen him play? He was inactive bc we had Goat QB1 and a 10yr veteran (w arm and athletic skills, and former top 10 pick) backing up on game days.

Those that reach and say “he was inactive bc he sucks” are the same crowd that said “Jameis was a franchise QB” lol. Check their receipts, including a Joe.

  39. Bobby C Says:

Keep in mind they didn’t even want to let him try and be the backup, so you kinda know what you have already, “nothing” the guy is trash and we all know it, need to find a qualified qb in the draft or go get a veteran, but trash is not the answer.

  40. mark2001 Says:

BTW… you folks that compare Trasks situation to AR’s, just stow it. It isn’t close. AR was pushing Favre for playing time…that is a reason why they traded him to the Jets. He was ready to roll. Trask on the other hand….

  41. Brandon Says:

If they decide to roll with Trask… I’m hoping they sign a good vet to push and possibly play if he isn’t up to the task (Brissett, Mayfield, Minshew, Darnold, Heinicke) and draft a developmental QB in rounds 2-4. If not, clean house a little and rebuild and try to get in position to get a QB that they do believe is the future. Other option is to somehow find a way to afford a Carr or Daniel Jones.

  42. Joe in Michigan Says:

My answer: Please NO on Trask. Search the CFL for the next Dieter Brock (joking on Brock).

  43. Ed Says:

Trask isn’t the athletic type of quarterback that is needed to win NFL games. We are watching a Super Bowl with 2 of the most athletic quarterbacks in the game today. These guys are not statues or immobile QB’s.

I just don’t see that Trask has the legs to scramble out of trouble and keep plays alive. Next Buc quarterback needs to have quick release but ability to move quickly out of the pocket when it breaks down.

Joe Burrow is a pocket passer yet he moves when he needs to run. Bucs can’t play quarterbacks that play like its the 70’s. Colleges are putting out all kinds of athletic quarterbacks. I’ll take that aspect over a guy that can’t move but has a good arm.

  44. ItzOK Says:

Trade evans and godwin, you cant waste their careers on a 2 win team. David should retire i hate to see him go back to a horrible team

  45. Letsbucinggo Says:

This is going to be a real roller coaster ride Trask only QB under contract and half the coaching staff gone and not replaced.

  46. WillieG Says:

Lost Decade II premieres next fall.

  47. Marine Buc Says:

Trask just doesn’t have the arm strength to be an NFL QB…

His deep out passes take ten minutes to get there.

  48. HC Grover Says:

Bowles wills start Gabbert to give Trask plenty of rest.

  49. Curse of Gruden Says:

The FSU crowd isn’t saying it clearly, but they want Mr. 30-30 back.

  50. D-Rome Says:

Nah we are good on Trask, how about we go draft a solid young mobile Qb for the future

I hear you on this. Bucs need a mobile QB. The problem is not only do we have a lame duck HC we have a lame duck coaching staff. The Bucs should not draft a QB to play for a head coach that is likely to get canned the following season.

I think real Bucs fans would understand next year being a dead year to get ready for 2024. We won’t like it and it doesn’t mean we won’t complain about it. I’m not necessarily saying the team should tank. I’m saying the team should structure themselves to be in a financially advantageous position for 2024.

  51. MadMax Says:

@Dooley, I had to wait on the TB decision…. its a perfect situation for him, no rush, go slow in that acl recovery and getting up to nfl speed, we’re gonna suck anyway, its all good. But I have a feeling he might go high in the 2nd so we’ll have to trade up.

  52. mark2001 Says:

Trask has only shown good arm strength when he has a great pocket and can throw with perfect form. Once his feet get moving or a push come up the middle, and he can’t do so with arm strength… bad man. At least from what I’ve seen.

  53. Nicholas Carlson Says:

Two year starter in the SEC. 69 TDs 15 INTs. Completion percentage 68%. 9.8 yards per attempt. Lets go!

  54. Bobby M. Says:

Now we get to see the real work of Licht…..the Brady effect is gone and Licht will get exposed for the roster he’s built. Too many premium picks wasted, too much money paid for above avg play. A circus of coaching hires….Licht is in over his head.

  55. mark2001 Says:

HC.. Gabbert isn’t even under contract. And with a new OC and possibly a new system, I don’t see anyone being ready to roll early in the season, right now.

  56. Greg Says:

I guarantee you all these people hating on Trask never actually seen him play. The Buccaneers only put him in preseason games with 4th string receivers and we all know what our backup o-line looked like. At Florida they had the worst defense in 100 years at that school. The only good weapon was Kyle Pitts who NOONE ever heard of until Trask became the starter. Trask carried Florida on his back to the SEC championship game and lost5 by one score to Alabama.

Im not saying hell be the next Brady here but just want to see a fair competition and see what he can do with starters around him.

  57. THOMAS PFALZ Says:

Doesn’t matter who the QB is as long as Bowles is HC there is not going to be much winning.

  58. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Marine Buc Says:

:Trask just doesn’t have the arm strength to be an NFL QB…”

Omg…so many people said that about Brady.

  59. Adam’s Angry Says:

When the Bucs signed Brady and let Winston walk, I said two things had to happen for this to be considered a success: 1) Brady had 2 years to win a Super Bowl. 2) Find Brady’s replacement so the guy can play behind the master and we can SEAMLESSLY transition into a new QB for the first time in franchise history.

1 out of 2 happened. Seems like the Bucs are perpetually the kid who remembers there’s an exam in first period and they end up studying on the bus with their hands on their ears.

  60. NEfan Says:

Blows came right out of the gate and lost 3 preseason games and nothing changed. Sorry fans, Allen, Mahomes, Burrows I don’t care NO WB could win with this coaching staff. Trask just got set up to fail. All the FA will run for the hills like coackroaches after a bomb. Jensen, Lenny, etc that made sure they added an out clause are off the better pastures. Bucs team jerseys on sale $12.99 buy 2 get the 3rd free. Game tickets $5.99 plenty of parking for all. Tua goes down, Miami makes the call and signs Brady out of retirement.

  61. Bojim Says:

Next season will be crappy anyway. Start Trask. As others have said, if he sucks we get a better draft pick next year and probably a better QB prospect.

  62. Larrd Says:

Trask has been buried on the bench everywhere he has played, and yet delivered a Joe Burrow-like year when given a chance.

Draft Bijan Robinson and a guard and let Trask hand off and throw long. The offense can’t get worse than it was this year.

Then draft Jack Campbell and put D White on the edge for his big contract year. Twenty sacks!

  63. Greg Says:

NEfan is a glass half empty guy. As a REAL Buccaneer fan I can tell you half empty is our wheelhouse LOL

  64. Bnasty Says:

I don’t like the rebuild talk at all. We have a decent team just need more depth in the trenches it would go a long way imo. I don’t think Trask is it if he showed progress wouldn’t he have eventually took the QB 2 spot or dressed? We have solid pieces on both sides of the ball we just really need to nail this draft and hopefully hall and otton take the next step. JTS on the other hand was a bad pick.

Also who wants to see D White line up on the edge similar to Parsons? He could get double digit sacks and use his speed and be a force to be reckoned with. Him and shaq on the outside wouldn’t be a bad combo

  65. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Trask could be Steve Young 2.0 for the Bucs…trade him and restart the qb curse.

Or he could be Brady 2.0…who replaced Bledsoe because the Patriots had no other option…and we know how that worked out.

Or he could be a total but and a career backup.

The truth is, we don’t know.

If we get Carr, it could work out for the Bucs like Brees did for the Saints. A dear ade of competing.

Going to be an interesting year.

First thing I would do is trade Mike Evans and Donovan Smith.

It would get us out of cap issues and Jason Licht has proven he can draft good players at both positions.

  66. #99 the Big fella Says:

NEfan, if you are correct will you become a Miami fan? Then maybe you will stop bashing the bucs

  67. mark2001 Says:

Nicholas. You want to look at Johnny Footballs college stats? College ball is a different animal. Pro Defensive guys are bigger, faster, more talented. They are men. And even with great athletic talent, a QB’s process time is much shorter before things collapse. I don’t know Trask has either going for him.

  68. mark2001 Says:

Bonzai…. Brady’s unexcelled release time, football intelligence, and perfect passing form help him succeed. Does Trask have all three?

  69. Marine Buc Says:

    @ Bonzai

We shall see. I hope Trask can prove me wrong. We really don’t have enough game film on the guy to make a full judgement. But the limited film we do have isn’t very good.

I agree with Joe – the Bucs were total idiots not letting Trask play the entire Atlanta game from start to finish so we could get a more clear picture.

  70. mark2001 Says:

And Bonzai…let’s not forget that Brady did have some superior coaching and play calling by his OC. Who will be our OC?

  71. NEfan Says:

    #99, ABSOLUTELY!!!

  72. Iamrhenry Says:

Trade the fat and draft the beef. It starts in the trenches my friends. Imagine T Brady facing that eagles pass rush. It would have been pathetic. Go with Trask, trade Evans to a winner, say your good byes to LVD, trade Devin Hype for a bag of tostados, resign Nelson and maybe Nassib. I would also try to resign Edwards and Dean and send SMB outta here on a slip and slide.

  73. ATLBuc Says:

With our cap situation we can roll with Trask. Then we will be able to sign Dean, SMB and other key defensive pieces. We can take the Georgia TE in the first which will encourage Monken to sign.

  74. rsjcheapseats Says:

“:Trask just doesn’t have the arm strength to be an NFL QB…”

Omg…so many people said that about Brady.”

No one said that about Brady. BB was very clear why he was interested in Brady out of MI – he threw a tight spiral which was needed in cold weather games in the North.

  75. Detonator Says:

This is my first post here, and likely my last. But I felt compelled to mock some of the comments above. “If Trask had anything we would’ve seen it by now.” Really? He’s a 2nd year kid given almost zero reps playing behind the GOAT; moronic take. “Draft Hendon Hooker.” Really? Replace Trask with olerd, error-prone college QB with a bum ACL who can’t yhrow WRs open…and whose SEC stats pale in comparison to those of Trask? The crap I read.

Those dismissing Trask do so in abject ignorance, or are allowing their opinions to be colored by their college allegiances. Anyone who watches film of Trask at Florida will see a big, tall QB with a very live arm throwing absolute dimes against stacked SEC defenses on outs, posts, slants, back-shoulder throws, fades, you name it — time and time again. The huge SEC numbers he posted were eerily similar to those of Joe Burrow at LSU, as a reminder. An apt NFL comparison (in terms of size and skill set)? Ben Roethlisberger. He will need time to adjust to the speed of the pro game, but IMO he has a good chance to become the best young QB the Buccaneers have ever drafted. At the very least, he will develop into a solid starter. If you’re going to trash the kid, at least do some research on his accomplishments and pro-caliber tools before spouting nonsense.

  76. beano Says:

“ChrisBuc23 Says: If trask was worthy we would have seen more of him by now.”

Either you’re just another irrational hater or you’re ignorant of the situatuon. Since Trask was drafted the Bucs (1) have had Brady, and (2) have been in win-the-Super-Bowl mode.

  77. Cobraboy Says:

Clean out the cap, get future picks for vets, and let’s move forward.

  78. beano Says:

All you idiots questioning Trask’s arm strength conveniently ignore that his official scouting report at NFL.Com states:

“Trask clearly has the arm strength … and can deliver deep throws with outstanding touch.”

Ouch! Those pesky facts again, huh? LMAO.

  79. Craig Says:

I really want to see what Trask can do. He has the size and if the coaches fixed his mechanics can be better than decent.

I say that because I lost my faith in QBs that flash with Jameis. I want a QB that can sustain drives, and Trask might be that.

Bowles cleaner is going to take defensive picks in the early rounds, that means no O-line that isn’t a project, and maybe a chance for someone like Stetson Bennett later.

Sign a seasoned QB as backup, maybe Dalton or Foles, and see where Trask takes us.

  80. SKBucafan Says:

We have a QB. Trask will be the guy. No need to waste a pic on a QB when we have a number of holes to fill. Starting with a LT in Round 1. Keep any QB upright and we will be fine.

  81. RustyRhinos Says:

Hey NEfan, Brady is no longer a Buc, so what happed? Why you still here? Hope you enjoy your new NFL Fan blog to post on. Take care.

  82. Big Z Says:

We are in full rebuild mode. Start with best player available none of this draft for position stuff works. That leads to the last few drafts we’ve had. Fully set our sights on Maye or Williams. Time to consider trading ME13. I doubt we get a 1, but probably a 2 and 3. ME makes 14.5 next year, getting old and I’m sure he doesn’t want to be part of a rebuild.

  83. beano Says:

Craig Says: “I really want to see what Trask can do.”

If the Bucs organization weren’t so dysfunctional, we already would have seen what Trask can do. He would have played extensively with the first team in preseason, as well as played at least a half, if not the entire time, with the first team in the last regular season game. Instead, the idiots running this program gave him nothing but garbage time with garbage collectors, so we don’t know squat. How stupid is that?

  84. Will Says:

I can’t stop laughing at those saying go for Derek Carr heck some of you are calling for David Carr. Smh
You say Trask is a bust who has never taken a snap in a game with the starters. Have any of you that want Carr actually watched him play? The guy wasn’t good with the leading rusher in the league as well as arguably the best WR in the league. His team benched him but yet you think he’s the answer. Living in Cali I’ve watched him for years and listened to Raider fans wanting him gone for years. The guy is mediocre at best.

  85. beano Says:

rsjcheapseats Says: “Brady always played the last game before the playoffs – that is why Trask didn’t start the last game.”

    Fair enough.

But then, why did Gabbert go in after Brady?

And, why did Gabbert stay in all the way to the end of the game with only 7 minutes left, giving Trask only 2 series playing with the third string?

And, why did Gabbert stay in for the first 23 minutes of the second half when he sucked so bad he was unable to get even ONE first down in the second half? Trask got a first down – by throwing – in only 2 series.

A huge opportunity to give Trask meaningful playing time with the starters was blown by the ineptness of the Bucs organization.

  86. Bucamania Says:

Not many options with the cap situation. Need to roll with Trask or draft a QB.

  87. TombsEN Says:

Some of you are clearly the life of the party wherever you go, I couldn’t imagine being so pessimistic about everything. This team will have challenges no doubt but I believe they have a plan and will execute. The NFC South is not a juggernaut division it can be won, just a couple of more pieces and we will be ok. I predict a winning record next year. You heard it here first.

Also no way Bowles is a lame duck HC unless he absolutely bombs, he just won the division albeit with a losing record but he is going to be here at least 2 years.

  88. Defense Rules Says:

‘Joe has no issue if the Bucs choose to move forward with Trask in 2023. What’s the worst that could happen? If he sucks, they’re in line to draft a QB in 2024.’

I’m right in line with you Joe. Trask is either our QB for the future OR he’ll set us up for drafting one in 2024.

I remember reading about what the Pats went through earlier last year when they had to turn to Bailey Zappe at QB. Undrafted rookie out of Houston Baptist College & Western Kentucky (6’1″ & 220 lb predominantly pocket passer) who went 2-0 in the 2 games that he started (in the 4 games he played in, he threw for a tad over 70% & threw for 6 TDs). Interestingly their OC minimized the pressure on him by running the ball 64 times in those 2 games & only having him pass it 55 times. Oh & the Pats won those 2 games by a combined score of 67-15, so apparently having a decent helps.

Let’s give Trask a chance to run with the big dogs. We’ll win one way or the other like Joe says.

  89. Defense Rules Says:

Hmmm, forgot the word ‘defense’ after ‘decent’ at the end there.

  90. rsjcheapseats Says:

“But then, why did Gabbert go in after Brady?”

Because Gabbert was QB2. Trask was not higher on the depth chart. Put another way Trask hadn’t earned it.

Please see the playoffs to see why it is a good idea to get your QB2 playing time.

  91. Rod Munch Says:

I think Trask is going to be awful, but so what, the team is going to stink, lets see what we got. If he does stink, no problem, that’s why you use 2023 to clean up the cap and you got a high pick to take another QB in 2024 for the new head coach. If Trask shocks the world and isn’t awful, then great, you got yourself a QB to build around. Really no downside for giving Trask the job as you got a bad cap situation and an aging team with a lot of holes, but you should have a much better offensive line and two top 10 WRs and a good young TE, so Trask will have the ability to shine, if he’s any good.

But obviously he’s been a 4th string QB, and then move all the way up to a 3rd string QB, so that tells you exactly what the Bucs think about him, and Bowles is coaching for his job here, so he’s going to try to get some worthless loser like Derek Carr to save his job by going 5-12, which might be good enough to win the NFC South.

  92. beano Says:

Rod Munch Says: “If Trask shocks the world and isn’t awful”

That would shock only idiots like you who have stated right here that “I hate all Gators” and can’t see past your Jameis jersey.

DR, the Bucs could not protect Brady, or rush for.more than 3.2 yds / carry. Now they insert Trask run the ball 64 times and limit Trasks passes to 55 in two games. What team were you watching this season? Who is going to orchestrate this Blows and his new cronies?

Cobra is right. Trade for draft capital, and rebuild.

Beano. You think GB didn’t have a pretty good idea that Rodgers could replace Favre after the first year or two? Sure they did. That is probably the biggest reason they traded Favre to the Jets. These coaches have seen Trask every day. And they knew Brady said he was going to retire…at least he had once already. So wouldn’t you think if they thought Trask was the guy, Bowles wouldn’t have pushed him to compete for the backup job last year? Particularly since the backup was on a one year contract? Hope Trask surprises most of us. But it would be the exception to the way it usually happens.

  95. orlbucfan Says:

Hopefully, we’ll see the exit of a lot of Brady groupies on here, so we can talk Bucs. Trask and Bowles need a season without Brady! That way we can see if they are for real. Plus, no more Sean Payton crap. Not sure where those blowhards come from, but they sure ain’t Bucs fans.

  96. mark2001 Says:

orlando. For real? That is the kind of thing I say when a pretty young girl looks at me and smiles. Something pretty much too good to be true. I haven’t seen anything “too good to be true” from Trask or Bowles. In fact, I’d go the other way and hope what we have seen so far isn’t “for real”.

  97. The Anomaly Says:

@ will – Amen. Preach it. Lots of fools on here.

    @ detonator – BOOM!

We have no idea if Trask can play or not.

  98. John McKay Says:

Brock Purdy is proof Kyle Trask should be next man up or at least given a fair shot. Anyone saying otherwise is beyond stupid.
