“They Are Going To Struggle Against This Tampa Defense”

January 10th, 2023

Dallas QB Dak Prescott.

Wow, is Rich Gannon down on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

In a video breakdown of why the Dallas signal-caller is struggling in recent games, Gannon, the former NFL MVP, hopped on The33rdTeam.com‘s website and took Dak Prescott to task for his poor play.

In showing Prescott’s pick-six against the Commandos last week, Gannon said, “Poor decision, poor route, poor throw.” Gannon added it looked like a pass a quarterback would throw in underwear football when a receiver runs a route against air.

And then Gannon came right out and said it, calling Monday night’s game between the Bucs and the Cowboys in the wild card round a win for Tampa Bay.

“I worry about their ability to win a football game with Dak Prescott,” Gannon said of the Cowboys. “I think they will be one and done.”

Gannon then pointed to the season opener where the Bucs beat Dallas at Jerry’s World 19-3 as evidence Bucs coach Todd Bowles knows how to stop the Cowboys.

“They are going to struggle against this Tampa defense,” Gannon said. “I just think the Cowboys right now go into the postseason lacking momentum and confidence offensively.”

Joe maintains the loss of the Bucs to the Dixie Chicks will not mentally drag the Bucs down. Joe firmly believes had Bowles left the starters in, the Bucs would have clobbered the Dixie Chicks.

Remember, the Bucs led by a touchdown (one potential scoring drive was wasted on a Chris Godwin fumble) at halftime.

The Bucs have been playing decent ball of late. The Cowboys? Not so much.

The Bucs will be one & done.

  2. Allbuccedup Says:

McCarthy will be fired Tuesday after the Bucs dominate the Cowgirls. Then the road gets a lot tougher if the Bucs face the Eagles or 49ers its probably over. But with a little luck they won’t face one of them to tje NFC championship. At least we will finish with a non losing record.

Cowgirls go home crying in their boots!

    LFG!

  4. Redeemer Says:

Dallas is 1-4 in their last 5 games on grass. They are the definition of front runners. Its imperative we get off to a fast start. Dak will throw a couple to bucs. If they catch them, I think we win.

  5. Jack Clark Says:

Our genius, defensive-minded head coach will learn what types of defenses Dak Prescott struggles against and exploit his weaknesses.

    Just like Bill Belichick

  6. Goatfarmer Says:

LOL. Every time people start jumping on the Bucs bandwagon, the team lays an egg. Blowes will have them flat and confused on defense. Stubbornly running for nothing on offense. Dak will respond to the critics by lighting it up. Everyone will be talking how the Cowboys are Super Bowl contenders after Monday night’s fiasco. I wish it could be different.

  7. ClwJB Says:

For all the ugly we have seen this season, there is no better first round matchup for us – we should smash this team or maybe just win at the buzzer – either way we should absolutely win this game

  8. Infomeplease Says:

The Bucs can win and advance to the next round if Bowles takes his handcuffs off of the offense!!! TB12, ME13, CG14, and LF7 will do the rest!!! Will this happen? I hope so!!! The defense will be fine!!!! LFG!!!!

  9. Ed Says:

If the Bucs come out and play a full 60 minute game with aggression and motivation it will be the 4th game out of 18 that they have done so. In my opinion they have played 3 games where they played like they were well coached and ready to go:

Cowboys opener and then Saints away

    Germany game vs Seattle

Can anyone else name a game where the Bucs played well for an entire game?

    Tompkins comes alive!! 2 TD’s-
    Show him the way TB12.
    Suh.

  11. gotbbucs Says:

Dak is playing bad, but the question is, can we take advantage of the Dallas mistakes?
Turnovers mean nothing if you don’t score off of them.
Dallas has been awful on 3rd down offense, so don’t give them cheap second chance drives by giving up easy pitch and catch 3rd down conversions.
Don’t injure Dak. Make sure he plays the whole game because Cooper Rush can probably beat us.

  12. Lokog Says:

Without sack barret this time around i wanna believe it but my gut tells me different

  13. Anonymous Says:

Well hey there Goof Hearder! There’s my Huckleberry!

So when did you go from the Goat farmer to the Goof header? You used to be a fan of the “TEAM” Maybe not the coaches BUT the whole team? Who are you? Is this actually his wife? Do you have him tied up in the closet? Goat Farmer WAS A FAN! I’m not sure who you are but as it stands you suck! Bring back Goat Farmer! The “TEAM” needs him NOW more than ever…

Go BUCS and COME ON Goat Farmer! This imposter Goof Hearder sucks!

  14. Tucker Says:

Both these teams have proved they can lose to anyone still a toss up game we will find out Monday.

  15. alton d green Says:

Hey Gannon. so what if Todd knows how to stop Dallas. He does an even better job stopping the Bucs. If they were to somehow score 30, Todd would bench the GOAT. Yes i’m sure most of the players are thanking the football gods for making the playoffs. The almighty Todd Bowles took Tom’s perfect record of over 20 winning seasons and his perfect record against Atlanta. This is a rhetorical question. “can you imagine Bowles being the coach in SB 51? Tom and the Pats came back from a 28-3 with 2 minutes left in the 3rd qtr. Todd IS NOT, IS NOT, IS NOT a headcoach. Well we’re 8-9. Ask the Jets

  16. Hodad Says:

That’s where Payton is going to coach, the Cowboys next year.

  17. OBVIOUS Says:

    Hey Ed,
    I’ll play.
I’d say it was Kansas City.

  18. Jack Sparrow Says:

I truly hope that Rich Gannon is correct this time.

  19. NEfan Says:

Other than Dallas, what team has struggled against this D??? The man hasn’t looked at film yet. Dallas didn’t have TY Hilton last time they met, that is a huge addition.

  20. BucsfanFred Says:

    JJ ist win, Baby!

  21. BucsfanFred Says:

    Just win Baby!!!
If we beat the cowturds and Seattle beats the 49ers and Giants beat the Vikings we get another home game against the Giants..

  22. Wokeizdunn Says:

What do you mean Bucs drive was wasted on a fumble. The fumble happened and that’s football and why they didn’t score. The Bucs left in a lot of their D in the second half…not enough to rotate all. I will offer they MAY have mentally shut down…but that is something that seems to be going on all year. Would have clobbered them? You mean like the first time they played this year. This Bucs team needs some pretty big breaks to win in the playoffs. Most of all, they need to stop the mistakes….like penalties, turnovers, and play breakdowns they have had all year. And with Tom Brady or not, they STILL score 18 or less points every game. WTF?
