Ryan Jensen Here We Come?

January 8th, 2023

Pro Bowl center Ryan Jensen.

You can’t tell Joe this didn’t cross your mind when Bucs center Robert Hainsey left the game with an injured hamstring today.

As Joe is typing this here story, it is unknown how severe the injury is.

The first thing Joe did think of when he heard that Hainsey left his 17th start of the season was, “Here comes Ryan Jensen next week.”

Jensen two weeks ago entered a 21-day window where the Bucs could activate him. He just started wearing pads last week.

Now Joe has no idea if the Pro Bowl center is ready to resume playing. But with this being the last week of his 21-day window, Joe would be surprised if Jensen isn’t at least activated.

That doesn’t mean he would play next week in the playoffs. He could be inactive. Joe just has a hunch that Jensen’s rehab got pushed up a little bit as a result of Hainsey being hurt.

Jensen has all offseason to continue his rehab if he isn’t quite 100 percent.

Except for the penalty I thought Goedeke played a decent game at RT.

  2. Goatfarmer Says:

Goedonkey is as Goedonkey does. He sucks.

  3. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

This is why you don’t play your starters in a meaningless game. #thanksTodd

  4. tampabuscsbro Says:

homer you’re not entirely wrong but you can’t just bench the entire team.

    ——–

    He was a college tackle.

If he’s actually decent at RT, then you can flip Wirfs to LT and cut Smith (post-June 1st) and move Hainsey to LG.

That’s one way to shuffle your line and free up money to keep Brady.

  7. Redeemer Says:

Thought the same thing Joe. I’d be surprised if Jensen didn’t give it a go next week. At this point, the risk of reinjury is meaningless. I suspect they’ll clean his knee up regardless. Put on the brace big boy and let’s go!!.

  8. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    @HomerSimpsonRocks

At this point, the backups WERE the starters!

  9. geno711 Says:

Overall, I thought the Bucs managed their team pretty well.

The guys who act like you can’t play any regulars in the final game of the NFL season apparently have not watched every other final game of an NFL season.

There is always a certain amount of guys that have to play! Duh!

  10. AbucAway Says:

I wasn’t able to see the game out here so I have to ask if Hainsey has a for real injury or is it like a Goedeke saving face injury?
    Bring on Jensen!

  11. Crickett Baker Says:

I thought the players were managed very well. It is unfortunate that they didn’t execute well enough to win.

  12. SKBucsFan Says:

I definitely thought that Joe. Jensen will be in as a guard next week if Hainsey can play.

  13. MadMax Says:

Buc luck… or buc bait. Jensen about to come back at the right time. I love it lol

  14. Joe Says:

Hainsey has a for real injury or is it like a Goedeke saving face injury?

What you read in this story is what is known publicly. Bowles did not have any update for Hainsey.

  15. geno711 Says:

Alex Cappa left the Bengals game with a serious left knee injury. Initial report from Profootball Doc suggest that he suffered a high-grade MCL sprain at minimum. He could also have damage to other ligaments in his knee.

Either way, Cappa will likely miss the Bengals entire playoff run.

  16. firethecannons Says:

If Goedeke is any good at right tackle and Wirfs moves to LT lets trade Donovan Smith for something!

  17. Curse of Gruden Says:

    Bring on Big Red!

  18. Ig Says:

Yeah we lost our center he better be ready- waiting all season for what?

  19. Ig Says:

Yeah we lost our center -he better b ready- waiting all season for what?

  20. Ig Says:

    Who cares about goedeke

  21. Thadeus Says:

I hope Ryan doesn’t play next week. Why risk that knee anymore damage in a losing cause. Sadly my Bucs will lose first round no matter who they play. Coaching staff wasn’t competent enough for the regular season, they sure as shiit aint ready for a run in the playoffs. But that’s what management gets for being “progressive”. Cost them big time and a waste of stars who won’t be there next year.

  22. HC Grover Says:

Bowzo had to get a top line player hurt to keep up his Blunder FACTOR.

  23. Tony Says:

    @firethecannons

Trade Donovan for what? Toilet paper?

  24. Ig Says:

Play everyone who cares about next week lol

  25. brooks Says:

Who cares. Were one and done

  26. Steve Says:

Gronk says he wants to work as a TV analyst together with Brady.
How about first showing done appreciation to Brady and come back for the playoffs.

  27. David Says:

    Steve….

    Let.
    It.
    Go.

  28. Matt Says:

The bucs suck! GO COWBOYS! besides, everyone knows the bucs aren’t going to the super bowl. Mediocre Brady, no offensive line, below average defense and secondary. Absolutely NO run game! What, is Brady going to throw 50 yard bombs to Evans for the rest of the season and voila super bowl. HAAA HAAA!!! laughable. Every team post season is better than the bucs with better corners and safeties than Carolina had. Besides Evans probably pull a ham string. I mean we already saw what the 49ers and bengals did to the bucs. Lol.

    One and done- unfortunately
