Robert Hainsey Limited In Practice; Ryan Jensen “Has Got Some Tests To Pass”

January 12th, 2023

Center update.

Who will play center for the Bucs on Monday night?

Fans know the deal. Season-long starter Robert Hainsey injured his hamstring Sunday but he was limited in practice today, which is a good sign.

The guy Hainsey replaced, Pro Bowl center Ryan Jensen, blew out his knee in July but has been practicing for the last two weeks and is eligible to return Monday if the Bucs activate him. Head coach Todd Bowles today said Jensen “has got some tests to pass.”

  2. SB~LV Says:

Well one positive thing going into this weekend’s game
The Bucs will not be over confident!🙉

  3. LOL Says:

Jensen isnt going to be able to play a full game without weeks/months of conditioning and practice… LOL

  4. geno711 Says:

    Vea was out there.

    Davis was out there.

    For the Cowboys.

C Tyler Biadasz, LB Vander Esch, and NT Hankins out there.
    Terence Steele not out there.

  5. jugheadfla Says:

We all know he is going to play, this is all just smoke……weeks/months of conditioning? you don’t think he has been conditioning the past 2-3 months?

  6. OrlandoBucFan Says:

Joe, did Jensen blow out his knee? Did he have surgery? I’m curious. The whole thing has been a mystery worthy of an Oliver Stone film. Regardless of the seriousness of the injury, the Bucs must have felt that it was an injury he could recover from within the length of the season (to include the playoffs). It looks like the Bucs may have been right. We’ll see on Monday night. I bet Jensen plays.

  7. Duane Says:

Jensen will suit up and play, and he will be cranky. It will be glorious. We may even get the run game going. Definitely will be a spiritual boost for the team.

  8. Tony Says:

Yeah some people thought Jensen was gonna be back way earlier than this & I was even telling some peoe no way I couldn’t see it.

  9. Goatfarmer Says:

Blowes played his starters just enough to get them hurt, but not enough to win the game. Injuries, the loss that pissed off Brady like crazy, and stooges for OC and ST coordinators. Plus Blowes with the game management acumen of a slug and the adjustability of a 90 year old corpse. Yay! Bucs are great? Go Tood go!

I love the coaching staff. It’s hard to win a division with a losing record.

  10. Proudbucsfan Says:

If Jenson plays center this will be a different football team. I haven’t had any
Faith in Bowels since he tampered with the offense. I do know that Jenson will bring fire and nasty back and that’s what this team needs.

  11. #8's Ghost Says:

Too bad Biadasz will be out there.
    Fantastic last name though-
    Suh.

  12. Tony Says:

We just need to put Bowles & Leftwich out there & have the DEs & DTs flatten them instead.

  13. Tucker Says:

Rumor is they are not optimistic that Jensen will play at all even if they do win against the cowboys. It was more of a hail Mary throw just in case he might be ready and no considering the injury he has not been conditioning and being in football shape means you need snaps which he hasn’t had.

  14. stone crab sam Says:

Jensens been working out, as I heard he’s been at the local pub doing 12 oz curls:)

  15. Show Me the TDs Says:

Jensen needs to cheat! Maybe stash a few answers in the bathroom. Lol

  16. steele Says:

There is no reason to rush Jensen into starting any game cold, in his condition. If this team wants him back as starter at full power, give him months of work and a full offseason. I am not sure at all that they do, given how they’ve essentially given the job to Hainsey, “his to lose”. Even if Jensen can play, he alone can’t instantly legit this OL, that is full of backup JAGs, and a patchwork that he hasn’t had to deal with as a unit.

I expect they will push Hainsey out there. But expect Leverett at C, and some combination of Goedeke, Molchon. In other words, danger for Brady.

  17. GumboIsForWinner Says:

What kind of tests? Does he need help with calculus?

  18. MadMax Says:

Jensen is back suckas!!!!!!!!! yall just being sucked in like the rest of them….the baiting is working. He’ll be rested by Hainsey after we go up 3 TD’s on the cowgirls. Hainsey will be fine.

    New From The Future:

July 17th 2098. Ryan Jensen officially died twenty years ago, but the Bucs coaches are still cagey about his status for the upcoming season saying “He still has to pass some tests.” Despite medical advancements in the 50 years since he first suffered an undisclosed knee injury and even after an autopsy, doctors could not verify the nature of the injury.

  20. Rod Munch Says:

These non-answers are really giving Bowles a big advantage in the upcoming matchup.

  21. Old School Bucs Says:

    Bucs, Kc or cincy superbowl.

  22. SlyPirate Says:

It takes 9 months to fully recover from ACL/MCL surgery.

Jensen has had 6. I’m not optomistic.

  23. Big Dave Says:

Did you mean you’re not an optometrist?
