Rob Gronkowski: Bucs “Can Do Some Severe Damage”

January 10th, 2023

Gronk says Bucs will ride the Cowboys.

Former (?) Bucs tight end, foot-loving Rob Gronkowski hopped on TMZ recently and he was talking Bucs and perhaps a comeback.

Gronk confessed “around Week 10” he was thinking about returning to the game, about the time he reached out to the Bucs to further discuss a comeback.

“That itch” to fully commit to football wasn’t there, Gronk said, adding he would never return to the game unless his heart is fully motivated.

Gronk was then asked if a return next season might be in the cards. He didn’t say no byt reiterated he would have to be motivated fully to commit. He said a big piece of that motivation could come from a very large paycheck.

Gronk then discussed the Bucs’ playoff game with the Cowboys. He said the Bucs “can do some severe damage” in the playoffs and Dallas is very beatable.

The Bucs, of course, host the Cowboys in the wild card round on Monday night. Gronk said the Cowboys last week looked “pretty brutal.”

“They only put up six points and they had all of their starters playing against the Commanders who aren’t even a playoff team this year,” Gronk said. “It’s kind of 50/50. You don’t know what you are going to get with the Cowboys and you don’t know what you are going to get with the Buccaneers.”

Gronk confessed the Bucs have been really “up and down” this season but all that matters is winning the division and making the playoffs.

“I’m going to go with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,” Gronk added. “It’s a home game. They already beat the Dallas Cowboys this year, opening game of the year. So they already have their number.

“The Tampa Bay defense already knows how to stop the Cowboys and their offense. So I’m going to go with them.”

Gronk says Monday night’s game will be a Bucs win, 24-17.

Miss you gronk maybe he comes back next year with Tom one can only hope lol

  2. Rod Munch Says:

I hope Gronk is right, I’d love to see all the Brady haters who claim he’s washed up, look like idiots.

If Brady just tunes out Leftwich and calls the game at the line, then the Bucs should have a real chance.

If Brady doesn’t do that, and once we’re past the opening series that Arians writes out for the team, and it’s Leftwich, and it’s run up the middle on 1st down, throw WR screen on 2nd down and 3rd down pass to the TE for 2 yards, then the Bucs will lose by 40.

  3. NEfan Says:

They’re both going to Miami, Tenn or LV.

  4. lambchop Says:

I have a feeling Gronk is done. Take the man for his word. The longer he stays away from the game, the more he’ll close the door. He must have realized from last year, that it takes a lot of things to come together to win a SB and he’s probably had enough of the bodily harm the game brings.

He’s not psycho committed to the game like Tom is. That’s the greatest thing about him; he was an elite TE while being a fun-loving dude. He’s already won a ton, has rings, and is a first ballot HOFer. Dude has too much going on outside football to risk having any more damage done.

  5. SKBucsFan Says:

    Exactly Rod!

  6. Goatfarmer Says:

Gronk — our next offensive coordinator.

  7. gbobucsfan Says:

Did anyone see Gronk as Bob Ross on Fox Pregame? Dude will do just fine collecting checks in a Pat McAfee-esque style.

  8. NEfan Says:

Tom made the call, please, please, pretty please Gronk come back their killing my legacy. Sorry Tommy, you’re on your own, they ain’t taking my HOF jacket away.

  9. Goatfarmer Says:

Todd the Trailblazer has certainly done lots of damage this season — to his own team. He’s damaged the fanbase, his teams confidence and swagger, he’s overseen a historically putrid offense — which is an anti-heroic type of accomplishment when considering the offense under BA was one of the best in the NFL for three years.

You go, Todd! Away. Far away. I’ve gone through all my air sickness bags watching your wretched shell of a Super Bowl Champion.

  10. Jack Clark Says:

Tom Brady, Mike Evans, Rob Gronkowski, Chris Godwin, Russell Gage, Leonard Fournette, and Solid Offensive Line

That’s a guaranteed Super Bowl run right there, so pay Gronkowski whatever he wants

  11. Jack Clark Says:

If we wasted $6 million dollars on Julio “The Ghost” Jones then why shouldn’t we pay Rob Gronkowski $14 mill guaranteed?

  12. Tampabaybucfan Says:

As long as he can keep getting endorsement deals, he doesn’t need an NFL paycheck….

  13. Buccos Says:

I think the reason Gronk retired again was about the money. If he doesn’t see the value in him playing based upon the numbers then he is out. The sacrifice required is almost unimaginable and he has the pretty trophies. Pay the man!

  14. Buccos Says:

PS Joe can you please ban any New England fans from the site until after the playoffs atleast. No one cares what they have to say anyways

  15. Crickett Baker Says:

Gronk speaks the truth when he said that you never know what you are gonna get with the Bucs. All but one of the “experts” picked us to win last week, and we lost by a lot. It’s a good thing I never bet money on the games. I only bet the right to laugh.

  16. kyle Says:

could care less about gronk returning.. just let me have a date with Camille??? got damnnn shes fine!!

  17. Tony Says:

We need somebody like Gronkowski as the next OC because even he’d probably do better than Leftwich right now.

  18. Mike C Says:

Rod Munch, why are you SO convinced the Bucs will lose by 40 to a team they beat, and just scored 6 points against a non playoff opponent in the last game they played?

  19. NEfan Says:

Kyle, she’s getting a little wide in the kaboos

  20. Tony Says:

The Georgia offense was looking better then the Bucs offense. Leftwich & Bowles should’ve watched that game.

  21. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Tony

Right? Monken is rolling.. maybe he’d like to come back.

  22. Buccos Says:

They should try to hire Todd Monken from Georgia. He would be a great OC. It would be hard to do worse than what we’ve got. If Arians scripts our first drive and then Brady calls the plays the rest of the way we would do much better. If you’re going to run Arians offense atleast run it right. Those deep balls are there for Evans all day long. Don’t be a p***y BL. Let it rip!

  23. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

In case no one has noticed, Gronk has quite the promising career in TV Ads.
I seriously doubt that he ever plays Football again.
I do agree that we have Dallas’s number, and have beat them before.
Plus, we are at home here in Tampa, that has to be worth something ?
You can bet that Tampa Stadium will be rocking.
That’s right, I called it Tampa Stadium, and not Raymond James, because the taxpayers of Tampa bought it!

  24. Beej Says:

Wish Otton could have had gotten a year with Gronk

  25. Duane Says:

If this were a money decision with Gronk, that would be a huge disappointment. I would have taken him and his big salary over Julio and that washed out Ghost that scored on Sunday. Truly Sad.

  26. Hodad Says:

I don’t miss Gronk as much as I miss the pics of his girl since he’s retired.

  27. SB~LV Says:

The Loveable Lumbering Gronk had a HILARIOUS bit on the Sunday NFL pregame blah blah blah show. He was that bushy haired artist that taught painting in his shows. Gronk was the artist painting game day predictions

  28. Captain Oblivious Says:

    @NEfan

I disagree, Brady will take Gronk with him to Miami or San Francisco next season.

Gronk called Brady after week 10 this season offering his services. Here’s that conversation:

Gronk: “Tom, your offense blows, need some help?”
Brady: “Not now, our coaches suck, not worth it. After the season I’ll let you know where we’re going. Stay in shape, we’re gonna make history again winning another SB with a 3rd team . . . LFG”

  29. NEfan Says:

Your name should be Captain Obvious, good stuff!

  30. Redeemer Says:

Gronk is finished as a football player. No way his body can take the beating anymore. Love me some Gronk though. I’d take him over most any reciever, in his prime for one game. Bucs will beat Dallas, mark it down. They might lose too. All bases covered.

  31. HC Grover Says:

I think Bucs can beat the Cowpies.

  32. steele Says:

Gronk is done. And why not. Easy life being a goofball. Uber hot girlfriend. Life is good.

  33. Winky Says:

    Love Gronk.

    Go BUCS!!!!!!

  34. brooks Says:

Steele is correct. Stay retired your old and hurt enjoy life. Tom will be joining next year actually next week
