“I Just Try To Wake Up, Show Up And Do My Job”

January 13th, 2023

Does not address rumors.

The rumors are flying faster than Tom Brady’s quick outs to Chris Godwin.

Rumors are all over the interwebs and sports networks: Brady going to the Dolphins next season is very much on the table, they claim.

Mark Davis in Las Vegas is heavy-panting for Brady as the barber-needy Raiders owner is determined not to swing and miss on his second chance in three years to lure Brady to Sin City.

Go ahead and Google “Tom Brady Miami” or “Tom Brady Las Vegas” and you will see tons of links, and they keep coming.

So in what could have been Brady’s second-last appearance before the local pen and mic club (Brady is a free agent this spring), Brady was asked how he is able to lock in on the task at hand prepping for a playoff game with the Cowboys on Monday night when rumors of him bolting for the Dolphins or Raiders are all over the place.

Brady said he’s just a simple guy. He just brings his lunch pail (full of kale?) to One Buc Palace.

“I don’t know,” Brady shrugged. “You guys have got to write something new every day. So I just try to wake up, show up and do my job.”

And with that, Brady’s (final?) Bucs game-week press conference concluded.

At no point did Brady deny any of the Las Vegas or Miami reports.

I hope he plays one more year here.
Hopefully, they work financial magic one more year.
A trip to the Super Bowl would certainly help.
Yeah, yeah, Joe hates wishing and hoping, but it’s all we have

  2. gbobucsfan Says:

“barber-needy Raiders owner” – hahah, that’s the truth.

  3. SB~LV Says:

Tom never wanted to be playing in Tampa this year….
The whole locker room feels and understands this.
Tom checked out for 11 days in TC
Toms body language is cold, professional and unattached
    Hence the season long funk
The most bizarre chapter in Buccaneer history!

  4. Buc1987 Says:

    I’m with you Fred.

  5. Roscoe P Coltrane Says:

I can’t imagine Brady talking about going anywhere without finishing the season. That Miami fiasco may have tempered his desire to over share any future talks.

  6. Redeemer Says:

Davis and his creepy haircut notwithstanding, the Raiders defense is flat out bad. Unless they bolster that outfit, I can’t see Brady joining. Who knows, they may actually pay the man and that could be the diff. If Brady leaves, bucs may as well start the rebuild. His cap hit will be accelerated. That means 35 and change, counting against next year’s cap. It’s Miami or retirement Imo.

  7. HC Grover Says:

No worries we will have Bowzo and Gabbert.

  8. TheBucsAnthem Says:

“You have one job! One job!”

  9. Larry Says:

He is GONE!!! why would he want to come back and play for a coach like Bowles. too defensive minded and the OC sucks. The weapons that brady would have in Miami are a dream come true for any QB. His kids live in Miami. What is not to like for his situation???

  10. EC Buc Says:

The guy never gives up any info anyway, and almost never confirms or denies stories. And he shouldn’t, it’s all junk material. GOAT life 101. What matters is being ready for Monday night. Let’s Go!

  11. NEfan Says:

Task at hand. SB~LV clearly got dumped hard once or more in his lifetime. Poor guy is taking Brady leaving him so personal, it’s really sad. Go for Carr, he can’t win but he can scramble.

Let’s say they win Monday, the suck part is they will have a short week to prepare for a team that had a bye. They should be ok, Bowles can start watching film on Friday night.

  12. CleanHouse Says:

He’s Leaving because he hates the media with their buzz kill questions opinions and nonsense. Hopefully she transfers to Vegas or Miami if he leaves. I can’t stomach it.

  13. TheBucsAnthem Says:

I see a package deal with Sean Payton and Brady together somewhere……..Miami seems super hot right now.

  14. Bucsfan13 Says:

@EC Buc! Brady rarely denies or confirms anything. A total non story.

  15. Redeemer Says:

Larry, I can’t argue with that. Hill and Waddle, plus an actual TE if he stays. Who knows, Brady maybe able to lure Gronk. It would be the ultimate F U to Belichick and company. If I’m Brady, that’s where I go. He’d be a puddle jump from his kids.

  16. NEfan Says:

    Sean McDermott would shat himself.

  17. Beeej Says:

aGAIN, zero.zero actual evidence. Just like a bunch of high school girls gossiping

  18. catcard202 Says:

Everyone on here knows I’m not the biggest TB12 fan, but this is a non-story story. Of course some teams may want Tom as a FA. Duh…But I do appreciate they non-answer answer from Brady. But really wanted a “of course other teams want me…I’m Tom F’ing Brady, the GOAT…I’m kind of a big deal.” Flat pan humor

  19. Kentucky Buc Says:

Back to Tampa. Gronk returns. Mark it.

  20. #8's Ghost Says:

TB12 to Miami, only if Suh goes back to Miami.
    Suh.

  21. Jack Clark Says:

    Translation,

Tom Brady: This is chess not checkers

  22. Infomeplease Says:

These are “the good old days” !!! Enjoy them while they last!!!

  23. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Let’s get the Brady move/stay over with……if we have to move on from him…so be it……his Buc stay was worth it.

I still think….if he plays, he stays.

  24. mg Says:

The Glazeovers fell asleep. No dynasty for you.

  25. NEfan Says:

Catcall@ what is he supposed to say? Yes get me away from these stink arse coaches and put me in a place where fans actually show up? The last thing Brady wants is to cause a distraction. I think he’s had his share of those this season.

  26. D-Rok Says:

    I like lunch-pail kinda guys.

  27. Greg Says:

Get ready to go back to “It’s A Bucs Life” after this season. He’s going to Miami, Tennessee or Vegas and we will be back in the basement. It’s sad, football has been fun again the last couple of years 🙁

  28. Purplepirate Says:

Does Brady really want to play behind the o-line that was supposed to be protecting Tua?

  29. Greg Says:

Purplepirate…. Draft, FA and lots of cap $ They will protect him. Hell, the Bucs cut and pasted throughout the season on the Oline and it semi-worked

  30. Jack Blood Says:

Bucs fans have wanted Brady gone all year. 3 rd playoff in a row. Lotta teams would be ok with that. So be careful what you wish for Tampa.

  31. Christopher Says:

If he wants a shot at the Super Bowl again he needs to stay in the NFC
I think it’s very cold that he would bring back guys who were researching free agency and then dip out on them the very next year.

  32. adam from ny Says:

could tommy b really go play for an owner with a lord fauntleroy hairdo ?

also jenna kinda chased him out of the presser with that one

  33. Destinjohnny Says:

Missing on Luke and Robert sealed the deal for him leaving

  34. stpetebucfan Says:

I honestly do not care! I care about Monday night! If the Bucs win there then I’ll focus on the next game.

We LITERALLY only have this moment. Why not enjoy it? Why would I allow Tom Brady’s future to cloud MY present.

When you guys are in a relationship with a hot girl do you wonder how long it’s going to last or just enjoy it?
