For The Draft Crazies …

January 8th, 2023

GM Jason Licht

Even with the playoffs here, some Bucs fans can’t shake their obsession with the NFL Draft.

For them, Joe has soothing words. Since Jacksonville finished 9-8 yesterday and the Bucs concluded their season with a 8-9 record today, the Bucs would score the No. 19 overall pick in the draft if they were to lose their opening playoff game next weekend against Dallas.

Now go beat the Cowboys, Bucs, and shut down the draft chatter!

If the Bucs win next weekend, then their first-round pick would be later than all teams eliminated in the wild card round.

    Let’s get pick #32!

  2. TheBucsAnthem Says:

The Bucs needs to look at the blueprint Defense the commanders did today….cause they completely shut down the Cowboys offense.

  3. BA’s Red Pen Says:

We don’t need any draft picks. We have Trask so we’ll go undefeated and win the Super Bowl next season.

  4. BA’s Red Pen Says:

Don’t even get me started on the next Lawrence Taylor, JTS!

  5. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Kyle who????

  6. Kentucky Buc Says:

Sheesh. Just zero pride. Loserism 101 Article one-convince yourself and others that losing is a good thing. Article two-worry about draft before the playoffs.
Do you have the scrimmage dates for next year next?

  7. Fansince76 Says:

Where did we get Justin Skule?
was surprised to see him at left tackle?

  8. Tony Says:

This is why I never would draft a QB coming from Florida. None of them do much of anything & Trask didn’t look that great. If he struggled against backups in the preseason then he’s probably gonna struggle against starters.

  9. David Says:

The draft has been fantastic the last several years for them. This year, it’s real simple… At least 1 Offensive and defensive linemen in the first few rounds. A young, fast, quick WR.

After that, it depends on who stays and goes, although another linebacker is going to be crucial real real soon

Then, of course, there is the quarterback issue. Personally, I don’t see Brady coming back but I’m optimistic especially with Jensen returning at center. Anyone should be able to see at this point that Trask was a wasted pic. I was on board with him at first but I’ve seen too many bad throws and panicking feet in the pocket when there’s no pressure at all.

  10. ElioT Says:

    Loser mentality runs deep.

Bucs don’t deserve to be in the dance.

  11. DoooshLaRue Says:

Trask actually looked a lot like Tom Brady did for most of this season.

    Throw ball short/in the dirt?
    Check
    Throw ball late?
    Check
    Throw ball too long?
    Check

  12. unbelievable Says:

    Amen Rod!

  13. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Give Trask a full off season as the #1 QB and give him the starting team for half the season and I guarantee you he’ll play a lot better than what he did today playing with 3rd stringers.

  14. Brandon Jeff Says:

I still don’t think we have enough to judge Trask on.

  15. The Anomaly Says:

    FJL

    Is the new slogan

  16. TheBucsAnthem Says:

But because Trask was drafted in the 2nd round……it is very disappointing he couldn’t beat out journeyman Blaine Gabbert for the backup QB spot ☹️

  17. Rayjay1122 Says:

I think the reason Trask looks bad in a game but good in practice has more to do with how completely pathetic the BUCS backups are on defense more than anything else. What a heap of trash our defense becomes as soon as a few starters are on the sidelines and even when all of the starters play this defense is very suspect.

  18. Redeemer Says:

Give it up fellas. If Trask had been drafted in the 5th round, he’d of been cut already. The only reason they’re keeping him around is to try to justify the pick. If you can’t beat out Gabby, you suck. Don’t give me this jazz about the lack of competition. It’s always a competition in the NFL, regardless of the position. They swung and missed on the pick. It’s okay to admit it. Unless you’re a Florida hardo, your know it to be true. They had high hopes I’m sure. Sometimes you just get it wrong.

  19. SB~LV Says:

Oh …. I thought this was about Jason drafting Trask

  20. NEfan Says:

Trask is a 3rd string QB, he DOESN’T play with starters because he’s not one. I know these.coaches are clue less but don’t you think he would dress if he were any good?

  21. Goatfarmer Says:

So, the Bucs will pick 19th. Is a head coach available in the draft?

  22. Bucamania Says:

Hope Jason does his homework this draft. His last two drafts have been really poor.

  23. HC Grover Says:

    It don’t mean nothin’..not a thinng.

  24. HC Grover Says:

    Trask the Super Star

  25. ElioT Says:

    @Goatfarmer – exactly

  26. Goatfarmer Says:

Redeemer – spot on. Let’s get Trask a Groucho mask too.

  27. SOEbuc Says:

    NEfan

Exactly. They keep Trash to play role of third string. Have no clue what the starting QB situation will be next year, but it sure as sh!t won’t be Trask. If anything they will get another crappy FA QB that will be able to beat out Trask in camp.

  28. Redeemer Says:

GF, roflmao again. That’s two nights in a row you got me. Blahhahhhahh. Love you brother.

  29. HC Grover Says:

I do not care. The draft is not going to help this catastrophe..

  30. Bucsfan13 Says:

I might be reaching, but Brady hasn’t liked the Instagram post by the Bucs listing their 2023 opponents. Interesting…

  31. SKBucsFan Says:

    I want the 32nd pick!

    I want the 32nd pick!

They can probably get it by trading down from the 19th pick.

  33. Goatfarmer Says:

Man . Redeemer, I’m probably just thirsty enough to drink continuously until the game against the Sowgirls.

  34. AmauryGuzman Says:

The nfl will screw this team by putting them on monday night. Watch. They will put that lover boy Rodgers on sunday night football.

    ———

    That actually made me laugh.

  36. Rod Munch Says:

These idiots on SNF just compared Jamal Williams to Barry Sanders. LOL!

Barry Sanders is, by far, the best RB I’ve ever seen.

Jamal Williams is a guy who splits carries with a draft bust and scores a bunch of 1 yard TDs by running straight ahead.

Literally one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen on TV, making that comparison.

  37. Goatfarmer Says:

If an auction was held for Blowes and Leftardwich, offers of full dumpsters of necrotic material would be the only bids.

  38. Rod Munch Says:

The Bucs will finish, I believe, 2nd in passing — so what the Bucs need to be doing is trying to sell other teams on Leftwich being a genius and see if we can’t sucker some other idiot team into making him a headcoach. If that happens, not only will Arians have pulled off the biggest scam in NFL coaching history, the Bucs would get a 3rd round pick out of it.

  39. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Rod

Then You must have missed Schlereth waxing poetic about what a masterful job Leftwich has done with Brady and the offense…

    That’s some stupid ish ..

  40. Rod Munch Says:

…and here comes the refs to save the Packers. Poor Detroit fans have nothing to look forward too living in that crime ridden dump of a city.

  41. Rod Munch Says:

Jmarkbuc – I normally turn off the audio and listen to Red Zone as I watch the feed, but today I mostly had on the Bucs game audio and man was it terrible, so I heard some of it. It’s amazing how clueless these national guys are. In any case, I hope some other owner was listening and hires him. The Jags completely screwed the Bucs this season by not hiring Leftwich – and that idiot Leftwich was to blame as he was reportedly offered the job but turned it down because the Jags wouldn’t give Leftwich his hand picked GM.

  42. Jmarkbuc Says:

Pretty sure Schlereth was day drinking.

  43. Yucs2Bucs Says:

I don’t think Gabs is that bad, but there’s a lot of QBs that will be available and call me crazy, but I wouldn’t mind seeing Sam Darnold here next year. They are really going to have to knock this next draft out of the park because what I saw today wasn’t good !!!Yes the backups especially the D were horrible, but seeing Gholston, Jensen destroyer aka Logan Hall who’s got bust all over him, Winfield, SMB, Senat and Nunez who are garbage DTS not be able to stop Ridder and rookies was really bad!! JTS was the only one who showed effort. How did Bowles get this job ? The great mystery and no way BA recommending him sealed the deal. Staying positive about next week !! Not ready to be a YUC, but Brady not acknowledging the other team which I don’t think I’ve ever seen just shows how mad he was and pretty sure it was about coaching and play and lastly this Lions and Pats game is solid and love what Dan Campbell has done!! Wish Lynch and an ex player would take over

  44. SKBucsFan Says:

    Lol Sasquatch.

Gotta love the confidence of Bucs Fans

  45. Rod Munch Says:

I figures that some idiot who wants Darnold here next year also thinks Winfield, who had 13 tackles today, was loafing.

One of the dumber posts I’ve seen on JBF, and that’s saying a lot as there’s a lot of stupid people here.

  46. Rod Munch Says:

HAHAHA… Rodgers choking when he needs a big game, that never happens.

But don’t count out the Packers yet, I’m sure the refs will figure out a way to save them.

  47. Rod Munch Says:

    HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    PACKERS LOSE!
    PACKERS LOSE!
    PACKERS LOSE!

RODGERS THE CHOKE ARTIST CHOKES AGAIN!

  48. NEfan Says:

MVP my arse. Campbell coaches with passion.

  49. Jmarkbuc Says:

As many times as we run the WR screen to Godwin, we should add in that lateral that the Lions just used.

  50. SKBucsFan Says:

Lovie is available. He even failed to tank for the the #1 pick as expected when he was hired.

  51. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Bucs Cowboys. Monday night.

  52. AmauryGuzman Says:

Bucs just got screw royally. The nfl is a joke.

  53. AmauryGuzman Says:

So they put the ravens vs cincy game on Sunday night that likely won’t even have Lamar Jackson. What a f joke.

  54. Goatfarmer Says:

Why would the 8-9 Bucs be given any grace? They are the least deserving playoff team, maybe ever. The fact that a loser is in must shrink the balls of every NFL suit snarling at the NFL South. If someone were deserving of being screwed, it is surely Todd Blowes’ bunch of underachieving over-earners.

  55. Rod Munch Says:

Lovie not losing that game should get him fired.

In Tampa, the Glazers clearly told Lovie he had another year and to make sure that game at the end of 2014 was lost. The dummy owner in Houston must not have made that deal. He should have just said it, then fired him anyways.

  56. Bucswin Says:

Que the Brady free agency talk.

  57. Bucsfan13 Says:

Brady and Licht are close. They were talking on the sideline during the games. I think he was telling Licht that they need to improve the OL.

  58. Rod Munch Says:

Bucsfan13 – I think Brady was telling Licht to fire these two losers coaching the team, they just benched him.

  59. Brandon Says:

I’ve read all the critics of lovie Smith and I don’t like him but they will still get whatever qb they want in the draft even with the second pick because Chicago already has Justin fields and his team was good down the stretch and Houston probably has the worst roster in the NFL

  60. Hodad Says:

Think we’re do for another 2nd round FG kicker.

  61. Bucobill999 Says:

Trask is horrible and most likely always will be

  62. Thadeus Says:

Tom will stay…IF, you bring in Sean Payton. A REAL and qualified NWFL (National WOKE Football League) caliber coach.

  63. catcard202 Says:

Trask is the perfect QB1 for the Bowles/Leftwich led 2023 Bucs….(As he’ll help insure organizational changes are made & top5 pick will be in hand to give new Bucs FO a shot at dealing up to grab Drake Maye in 2024 draft.)
