Bucs Will Host Dallas To Open The Playoffs!

January 8th, 2023

Bring on the Cowboys, a team that just got blown out in a nearly “must-win” contest against the Washington Commandos!

The Eagles (14-3) beat the Giants today 22-16 and locked down the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Simultaneously, Dallas (12-5) was getting blown out by Washington in a game that could have given Dallas the NFC East crown if they had won and the Eagles lost.

The Cowboys fell 26-6, which has Dallas fans freaking out. Quarterback Dak Prescott was 14-of-37 for 128 yards with a touchdown and a pick-six today before he got yanked. It’s a beautiful thing!

The Bucs (8-9, No. 4 seed) will host Dallas (No. 5 seed) next weekend (time/day not announced yet) at The Licht House.

Joe will take it. Dallas is struggling a bit. Joe watched them nearly lose to the Texans last month, and the Bucs have Tom Brady, are getting healthy, and have beaten Dallas this season and last.

All 3 Florida teams made the playoffs. Go Bucs.

  7. TheBucsAnthem Says:

I caught the forth quarter of that Texans game too….the Cowboys looked awful there too.

But the Cowboys are a baffling team….one game they look amazing and then other games their offense looks downright awful (reminds you of anyone?).

The Bucs truly caught a break playing the Cowboys……now the million dollar question???? Can the Bucs offense come alive and can the defense stop their powerful passing attack….because I’ll tell you what….the commanders secondary played very good today.

  8. AmauryGuzman Says:

Cowboys are always overhyped every year. Don’t buy the hype . I am worried though with a Bowles coached team anything can happen.

  9. Kentucky Buc Says:

The battle of incompetence. Bowles vs McCarthy.

  10. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Which Bucs team will show up?????🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

  11. Kgh4life Says:

Prescott has been turning the football over at a very high rate, the Bucs D will get their chances.

  12. David Says:

On paper, the Cowboys to dominate. A top 2 offense and a top 10 defense. Buccaneers are top 10 defense and bottom 10 offense.

That said, I think the Buccaneers are going into the game surprisingly healthy and feeling pretty good about themselves.
It would not surprise me if they lay an egg or win/lose a tight one. It would surprise me if they blow out the Cowboys… But man that would be really really nice.

  13. George Says:

Hopefully, Ryan Jensen plays against The Cowboys. That would change the dynamic.

  14. ElioT Says:

    Some dangerous optimism here.

    We’ll see.

    Go Bucs!

  15. TheBucsAnthem Says:

All Bucs fans should be 100% happy the Bucs fans are even in the playoffs.

Win or Lose……it’s been a good ride!!!!

  16. Captain Oblivious Says:

I think the cowboys tanked today so they could play the Bucs in the wild card.

  17. Fansince76 Says:

    Cowboys Suck A–
Even with Leftwich still coaching Buc’s should eek out a win!

  18. Allbuccedup Says:

    Definitely a winnable game.

  19. Rod Munch Says:

    Early line is Cowboys -3

  20. Redeemer Says:

Nothing else to be but optimistic. Things are coming together. Where is brother D-Rok? The chief optometrist (Joke) NFC is wide open. At least I hope so. GO BUCS!!!!!!!!

  21. 500Cells Says:

MNF here we come and go

  22. AmauryGuzman Says:

David the bucs have better offensive personnel than dallas. Not even close.

  23. AmauryGuzman Says:

Stop the run and make them one dimensional.

  24. Rod Munch Says:

Looking at the Cowboys schedule down the strech, it’s like the Bucs in that they faced a bunch of garbage and backup QBs.

Over the last 4 games the Cowboys are 2-2, facing backup QBs in 3 of 4. The only regular starter was vs Jacksonville, and they lost.

Over the last 4 games the Bucs are 2-2, facing backup QBs in 3 of 4. The only regular starter was vs Bengals, a game the Bucs lost.

In fact the Bucs have faced only 2 starting QBs in their last 8 games – and are just 4-4 in those 8 games.

The Cowboys meanwhile have faced 3 starting QBs in their 8 games – and are 6-2 in those games.

Even account for their dismal account the today, the Cowboys have been scoring points, averaging 32 points a game over the last 8.

The Bucs meanwhile are averaging 17.8 points per game over the last 8.

No podcast this week makes me mad

  26. AmauryGuzman Says:

500Cells no way this game is monday night. More like Sunday night.

  27. D-Rome Says:

Dak haa been a turnover machine all season. By the way, get ready for a week of loser cowboys (small c) fans commenting on stories.

  28. brooks Says:

Love it kentucky buc. Whoever wins get annihilated the following week

  29. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Because it’s Tom Brady……I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a Prime time game.

  30. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ brooks

    I think that’s 100% accurate.

Because it’s Tom Brady……I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a Prime time game.’

    ——–

Based on match-ups, Dallas vs Tampa is probably the biggest TV rating out there, so I think they might get that SNF slot.

However, the other big game would be GB vs San Fran, so if the Packers win, they could go that route.

If the Bucs don’t get Sunday, then they likely will get MNF, which would stink, because even if the Bucs won, they’d then be playing on a short week.

Then again, Bucs fans should be thankful for any prime-time game, since if Brady leaves next year, it will be a long time before they’re on prime time for anything other than the Thursday night games the NFL hides on Amazon.

  32. Pelsbuc61 Says:

Bucs don’t belong in playoffs and will get boat raced by Dallas. Bowles, Leftwich and Armstrong will showcase their incompetence. Cowboys 33-6.

  33. AmauryGuzman Says:

There’s a rumor going around thah the game will be on monday. A disgrace if that happens. The league trying to sabotage Brady once again.

  34. Chris Cotten Says:

Definitely a night game, my guess is Sunday night

  35. fwfan Says:

Pelsbuc is the .01% of the fan base is is objective and gets it. The other 99.9% expects the Bucs to win everyone post season game easily.

  36. NEfan Says:

Did you all forget who your coaches are??? Toilet Bowl & Leftnuts

  37. Goatfarmer Says:

    Cowboys 26
    Blowes 6

The starters play like the scrubs did today. Blowes played it perfectly wrong – by both trying to win the game with the starters for a quarter and a half, and then trying to protect starters from injury, he lost the game and still injured Hainsey, Gage and SMB. Idiot.

Not to mention, how about that Kyle’s Trashk?!

  38. DBS Says:

With all hope, Brady will ignore Leftnut and run the offense his way.

  39. AmauryGuzman Says:

Lol people hyping up the cowboys. This could be a competitive game.

  40. D-Rok Says:

    @Redeemer,

I’m quite optimistic bro. Not that we have a strong team, cuz we don’t, and we won’t overpower/overwhelm anyone.

I’m banking on good ole fashioned NFL luck, bro. Sometimes, the ball bounces your way, and it needs to right about now for the Bucs, cuz that ball been bouncin’ the wrong way most of this season.

Not much reason for optimism, if one is honest. (SuperBowl?) BUT, I’ve seen some post-season teams perform magic occasionally in the last 40+ years, so it’s possible, bro.

  41. D-Rok Says:

Sorry, too many bro’s, bro. All these newfangled blogs and their vernacular got me all twisted, LOL.

  42. Buc4evr Says:

Leftwurst is going to help the offense lay an egg. Our defense is going to get run over and the offense will be lucky to score 20 points. Sad end to a terrible mess of a team that has no right to be in the playoffs. Hopefully by this time next week the coach’s will be gone. Time to rebuild this disaster without Brady.

  43. Oxycondoms Says:

Would suck if its monday and then travel to san fran, silver lining is that they’ve actually did that few weeks ago after beating saints on monday then played 49ers . Definitely a learning experience

  44. AmauryGuzman Says:

Oxycondoms the nff plays to screw Brady. The game should be on sunday night. I bet they put that dork Rodgers on sunday night againsh the 49ers. Playoff choker that he is.

  45. steele Says:

Two bad teams, whichever zombie has more life for that moment.

We have not seen this ugly team dominate for four straight quarters all season, and probably won’t.

The Cowboys are, however, better coached, which is not saying much. But I’ll take McCarthy and Quinn, as bad as they can be, over Bowles and Lefttard any day.

You all know it will come down to whether or not there will be any chance in the 4th, and whether Brady will be given the chance to do things his way.

  46. David Says:

    AMauryGuzman –

How do you figure? The Buccaneers have better receivers and… That’s it. Cowboys have one receiver that is better than all of the buccaneer receivers. They have better RBs, TEs, and a better O-line.

So I completely disagree with you saying the Bucs offensive personnel is way better than the Cowboys and that it’s not even close.

The difference is Brady. But that doesn’t change what I initially said- on paper, the Cowboys should dominate. They have the second highest scoring offense in the NFL and a top 10 defense. The Buccaneers are top 10 defense but their office is in the bottom seven or eight.

Regardless, I expect a close game and would not be surprised one bit if the Buccaneers win but I also would not be surprised if they get beaten badly.

  47. Goatfarmer Says:

The difference makers should both be wearing dunce caps and sitting in the corner, facing the wall.

    Todd Blowes.

    Bymron Leftardwich.

The Glazers hopefully watch the same simmering cesspool that we do.

  48. TB33 Says:

Any chance Jerry Jones whips out Cooper Rush for this game?! That would be interesting

  49. HC Grover Says:

    1 game at a time.

  50. HC Grover Says:

    Trask is El Floppo.

  51. SKBucsFan Says:

Please don’t be Monday Night..or Sunday Night for that matter. Bowles and his band of “coaches” Can’t properly prepare a team for late night games.
But looking at the weak match-ups I am afraid we will get stuck with a Night game.

  52. Jerry Says:

We struggle to beat bad teams. Brady has to make miracle comebacks in the 4th quarter in order to win.

The good news is that the Cowboys many times play like a bad team. They get into funks where they become undisciplined. And Dak has a tendency to start turning the ball over. So the Bucs do have a good chance of beating them. Not to mention the Cowboys have a horrible record against Brady, and they haven’t won a road playoff game in 30 years.

Unfortunately, advancing beyond that is unlikely.

  53. AmauryGuzman Says:

David you’re clueless lol if you think the cowboys wrs are better than the bucs receivers. Give me what your smoking dude lol. After lamb they don’t have much dude. We have evans and godwin. Godwin has turned it on these last weeks.

  54. AmauryGuzman Says:

Jerry it’s the playoffs anything is possible dude. I wasn’t impressed with philly dude. They barely beat a backup giants squad. The only thing that worries you is this coaching staff .

  55. AmauryGuzman Says:

David get real. The cowboys have scored on a bunch of crappy teams lol. You making the cowboys look like an offensive juggernaut. They’re not.

  56. AmauryGuzman Says:

Their passing attack is not better than ours if the bucs actually show up on offense.

  57. Jack Sparrow Says:

If we lose, this will probably Brady’s last game in a Bucs uniform.

  58. HC Grover Says:

    Bucs will win this game.

  59. Jack Sparrow Says:

    GO BUCS !!!!!

  60. Fitz Says:

I like the Bucs over Dallas next week. But they will be in trouble if Jensen can’t go and Hainsey isn’t at 100%.

  61. Goatfarmer Says:

It’s stunning how bad our backups are. Glad Blowes did away with the extra practice fields, so these scrubs can stand around scratching themselves instead of getting reps in situational applications.

    Blowes.Must.Go.

  62. Jerry Says:

Hopefully Bucs fans show up for this game and not sell their tickets turning this into a Dallas home game.

  63. firethecannons Says:

The cowboys, a team that just got blown out–lol! we just got blown out, should of been 21-0 at half time Bucs have their work cut out for them

  64. Bring back the lawn chairs Says:

I’ll stick my neck out and say it: ‘tampa owns them cowgirls’!

  65. Goatfarmer Says:

Hard to swim across the pool when anchors named Blowes and Leftard are chained to your ankles.

  66. Funk Muscle Says:

“Hopefully Bucs fans show up for this game and not sell their tickets turning this into a Dallas home game” Too late. Half the seats in RJS are up for resale on Ticketmaster at crazy high prices. It’ll probably be pretty near 50/50 Cowboys and Bucs fans.

  67. Rover Says:

Welp. It’s been a good season. Looking forward to OTAs.

  68. Bring back the lawn chairs Says:

I hope rj is full of cowboy fans. After playoff Lenny gets his 200, victory will taste so much sweeter!

  69. C2asante Says:

I didn’t forget that you are here because for yet another season your team the NE Patsies did not even make it to the playoffs.

  70. AmauryGuzman Says:

With Rodgers losing now hopefully the game is pushed to sunday night.

  71. SKBucsFan Says:

Of course we get the Monday Night game. Sigh.

  72. C2asante Says:

As poor as the Bucs coaches have looked this year, they have achieved more in their careers and are better qualified than 100% of the keyboard cowards who criticize them in anonymity but would still act like school girls begging for an autograph when face to face. Wanna impress me? Call him Leftard, or Toilet Bowles to their face…

  73. Tucker Says:

What a brutal season, Tom Brady’s body language looks like a guy who can’t wait for this nightmare to end. I highly doubt he comes back. The backup inside linebacker bunch is absolutely awful my goodness. If some of these depth pieces are the future ouch.
