Damning Words From CeeDee Lamb

January 17th, 2023

Blunt words for Bucs defense.

Cowboys electric wide receiver CeeDee Lamb didn’t exactly torch the Bucs Monday night. He didn’t need to.

It seems Bucs coach and defacto defensive coordinator Todd Bowles forgot that tight ends are allowed to catch passes too.

Dallas tight end Dalton Schultz absolutely roasted the Bucs defense. Schultz caught seven of eight targeted passes and scored two touchdowns while racking up 95 yards.

While Lamb had 68 yards and a touchdown on four catches, Michael Gallup also had a touchdown on 46 yards off of four catches.

Joe spoke with Lamb after the game and he admitted when the Bucs played the Cowboys receivers (and tight end) with a man defense, it was no match.

“I didn’t expect them to be that open,” Lamb said of his teammates when the Bucs came out in a man-to-man defense.

Simply put, Todd Bowles did not have his defense ready to play. At least, not after the first two series. Once Dak Prescott and the Cowboys got a little momentum and confidence, they blew the doors off the Bucs defense.

Can we all just say that Devin White played like garbage? Maybe it was the scheme Todd had drawn up, but we all know Devin is a liability on passing downs unless he’s blitzing.

  2. Bigbucfan90 Says:

This was embarrassing I hope the brady experience is over why prolong anything and get it over with even if our defense played like crap that don’t give our offense a reason. You paid brady to be the man in these situations and it just didn’t happen. If he does come back next year I don’t want to hear any excuses it’s super bowl or bust!

  3. Bill_T Says:

The reality check is that the bucs played poorly during the season so it was entirely fitting that they should get spanked by the cowboys, who played well. The question now is will just BL hit the street or will Bowles join him.

  4. Rayjay1122 Says:

Bowles does not deserve another season and do not give me the BS about him not being able to hire his own assistant coaches because his defense has been pretty bad this year and the defense is on him. The Glazers have to clean house or risk losing a fan base as well as games next season.

  5. Bosch Says:

Bowel movement’ body of work is to be at his worst in the most important game. And his worst is of epic proportions. If you want to give him another year to add a 1-16 season to his resume, the fine. We could use the draft position in 2024.

  6. Bosch Says:

Glazers will e forced to lower ticket prices next year.

  7. BICKLE Says:

Don’t get all the Brady hate. This team has been poorly coached all year. Tom looked like crap because the team played like crap, because the coaches coach like crap. Fingers crossed this was all the Glazers needed to see to convince themselves to fire everyone. Bowles couldn’t even win a playoff game with Tom Brady at the helm. After gifting Tom his first losing season. Weak.

  8. steele Says:

No pass rush. Bad coverage. Out of position, beat, lost. Poor tackling. No impact.

  9. matthew veal Says:

It was a sh!+ year from tge wotd go.

Brady probably played to promote the movie

    Bruce left weirdly.

    Giselle left weirdly.

We missed gronk and our interior offensive line.

    Bl didn’t have enough time.
    Bowles too

I’m guessing lycht goes partial rebuild.

  10. SufferingSince76 Says:

Bowles chose his staff in NY, did he not? How well did that go?

  11. JSmalls Says:

Devin White played like crap? Lavante David was getting abused in coverage all night. Dare I say a step slow….

  12. 941bucsfan Says:

Todd bowles didnt have his defense ready to play?? Did you feel the energy in the stadium on those first 2 3and outs we forced on dallas??? It was brady who wasnt ready to play… Put the blame where it belongs. At one point tommy was 15 of 31 for 121 yards and an int…. josh mccown numbers

  13. NEfan Says:

I don’t get it Blows watched the film Monday morning. I wasn’t a fan of this man but thought maybe he was a good guy, but after his lack of emotion and response to the Gage injury, I am convinced he is in this for himself. Freaking McCarthy came on the field before Blows left his perch. This team despises him and well deserved.

  14. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

WE were literally humiliated yesterday, on National TV.
What a shame for Brady’s last game as a Buc.

  15. Jeff’s real dad Says:

Another team should pay Devin his 100 mill he wants cuz he ain’t it

  16. A Says:

would you even go to a game for free next year?

  17. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

    FIRE BOWLES NOW

  18. Statistically Insignificant Reader Says:

I can’t take any more of the Bowles Leftwich shet show.

  19. NEfan Says:

941, I guess you’re right, the D had it’s TWO good series before it let up 4 straight scoring drives, 80, 90, & 96 yd scoring drives and 27 first downs. Shame on Brady, the man still trying to wash the 11 tattoo off his forehead. We knew
Smith sucked but how about leaping Lenny’s multiple feeble attempts at pass blocking?

  20. Brandon Says:

Our best man corner didn’t play… I wouldn’t expect us to not have Dean on defense at all if he’s healthy enough to suit up.

  21. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

    What happened to Dean??

  22. WTFBucFan Says:

To all you Brady haters how would you react if you had an offensive line protecting you as pours as the Bucs were last night? But you whiners will get your wish as Brady is not going to stick around an organization who coaches are as subpar and uninspiring as the Bowles Leftwich clown show. Lets see how happy the haters are when he ditches this place and the wheels truly come off. Don’t forget, if it wasn’t for Brady pulling out the Saints and Panthers game in the final minute we would have had a 6-11 season.

  23. Mike S Says:

The Bucs didn’t show up last night. Busted coverages all over the place. It was an uninspired game plan. Bowles needs to be fired.

  24. alton green Says:

As the old saying goes “every cloud has a silver lining” I would have been amazed if the Bucs could defend ANY DAMN THING. The kicker tried his best to give us the game hahahaha BUT there is no freaking way the Bucs could beat the 69’s or Philly or Bills or Bengles, or Giants or steelers, or Pnthers, or Commanders or …………………………………………………..blah blah blah Todd can’t even beat the Masterbaters (those that beat themselves

  25. D-Rok Says:

Sad, indeed! I’m not surprised by how the offense performed as we’ve seen it all season, even though I was optimistic they would wake up for this game.

I’m surprised by how Bowels lil darlings played – his defense. His defense was offensive.

Sad, indeed. Not competitive at all. 🙁

  26. jerseybuc Says:

Not ready to play is an understatement. This is what you get when you allow a coach to pick his replacement. That was not BA’s job to pick his successor, ownership needed to make that call. Now we will all hear how you can’t fire a coach after one year. This guy had 4 years in NY and I warned everyone on this blog that his hire would backfire. Guy is not a HC, had major clock management issues with Jets and we are still seeing massive confusion with the D backs on assignments. Supposedly, his strength. Leftwich was as predictable as a Pop Warner coach calling plays. While SF has amazing talent, just watch the beauty of Shanahan’s play calling this weekend. We deserved better. No way you drop 12 points a game on points scored in this league in one year. We got a lot of work to do, but I wouldn’t trade the last 3 years for anything in the world.

  27. Architek Says:

This is a hot mess man. It’s always something that prevents this team from being ready and prepared since 2020.

    Just tired of the embarrassment:
    – KC (excuses)
    – Green Bay (excuses)
    – Pittsburgh (excuses)
    – Carolina (excuses)
    – 49ers (excuses)

When is this coaching staff going to be ready and use the players THEY signed and developed to compete and win???

Are there excuses for poor game management and passive decision making?

It’s just one thing after the next with these guys. The Giants have less talent but somehow look better prepared and competent on game day!

  28. Brazen Zebra Says:

Steelers, Raiders, Patriots, and now the pathetic Bucs. Losing records, One and done in a total spanking. Ugh! Brady insisted. He wanted his man against the wise counsel of people who knew better, who had some common sense. Yeh, go ahead and bring in AB Tom. Yeh, go ahead and lose team chemistry. Yeh, go ahead and look like a fool Tom, and lose the respect of your teammates. Yeh, yeh, blame it on Bruce, and push him out the door This season was hell both for the Bucs and for Tom personally. Cursed. Big time! The only thing missing from the Cowboys blowout win was a Tommy temper tantrum. Instead of throwing a tablet he should have stripped his uniform, performed a few jumping jacks in front of the home town crowd, and exited the field at the two minute warning. Bye-bye Bucs. But, Tom. Who the phuck needs you? You’re 45 years old Tom.
