“He’s A Good Spaghetti Sauce”

December 26th, 2022

Pesto Tommy.

Joe can think of another warm, steamy substance to compare to the Buccaneers offense, but for this analogy by a retired NFL quarterback, it’s a bowl of pasta.

NFL Network’s studio show was all about breaking down the ugly and pretty of Tom Brady’s roller coaster ride against the lowly Arizona Cardinals last night.

Thankfully, Brady and the Bucs pulled out a 19-16 overtime win.

Former Texans, Panthers, Giants and 49ers QB David Carr was dissecting Brady and he sees a quarterback struggling and uncomfortable. But Carr also sees Brady as a guy steadily breaking down the opponent’s defense mentally as games wear on. Brady makes excellent adjustments in-game. per Carr, and that’s what leads to his historic and consistent proficiency when he’s trailing in the fourth quarter.

Of course, the goal is to lead entering the fourth quarter, but the 2022 Bucs are more about the Brady heroics. Carr said the Bucs are like a bowl of bad pasta with Brady covering up the taste with his clinical finishes. “He’s like a good spaghetti sauce,” Carr said.

Joe will go with that. Mostly, the Bucs offense has been like an overcooked, gluten-free, whole-grain, machine-made bowl of tasteless noodles. But when that Brady sauce get poured on, everything tastes ok.

That’s no formula for getting to February, but it might be good enough for serious teasing if the Bucs defense gets more players healthy and continues to play strong football.

A little sauce can go a long way.

David should worry about his brother. He looks just as uncomfortable. The difference is that Brady is more clutch than him. Brady has good reason to be uncomfortable behind that OL, especially when Walton came in and got manhandled. I’m more encouraged that Brady didn’t sound happy about this victory during his press conference. I expect another sleepless night from Tommy. Tossing and turning thinking about that missed TD to Julio and his other bad throws. He owned up to those poor throws. That’s one thing I always liked about him he will take the bullet

    Spot on, David Carr.
Brady is overcompensating for inefficiency in all the other areas of offense. It clearly shows in his body/face language and literally on display in the sideline where he begs his O line to do something.
    This team…
On the post celebration trailer, you can see how frustrated Brady (putting his head down like he lost someone important) is at the back corner while the team is just happy to cheer and celebrate the ugly victory. That picture says it all.
The standard is different. This team no longer carries that mental fortitude required for the postseason.

    Go Bucs.

Besides the endless over reliance on Brady heroics to pull games out of their rears, wins like this one lull OneBuc, Bowles and Leftwurst, and many of the players to think that they’re actually good. That they can get away with this horrendously coached mess without making drastic changes.

This team is not good. It just barely wheezed out an OT win over a 4-10 team led by Trace McSorley.

  4. Buc4evr Says:

Nothing to be proud of last night and the coaches see no reason to change the offense. Really stupid.

  5. Bucobill999 Says:

Hes just mad that bradys taking little brothers job next year haters will hate

  6. Leighroy Says:

Well if that’s the case then will someone get us some dang Parmisiano Reggiano asap please?!

  7. Mike C Says:

    Nice Leighroy lol!

  8. NEfan Says:

What happened to the motion, play action we saw last Sunday. Watt knew what the play was before the snap. Otton two dropped balls in back to back series, a miss throw to Jones, ANOTHER td called back and I’m sorry Evan’s is clueless. That downfield pick, he’s not looking for the ball, he turns in that’s a reception. The second pick definitely on Brady trying to drop it over the safety. Stop with the Miller experiment, he doesn’t get enough reps. Brady sure sounded sick as a dog in his presser.

  9. JimmyfromNY Says:

Don’t say thing too bad about Evans they don’t like that around here. Anyone who knows anything about football watches his route and see’s the inconsistency or simply quits, that’s type of player he’s been this season. He’s continuously lockdown by third and fourth corners. Best play in the past month was the great throw/catch he made in overtime..

  10. Oneilbuc Says:

NEfan. How many more excuses are you going to keep giving Brady ?? He’s old and washed up let it go and just except it. Brady is a hall of famer and one of the best to ever do it. But his time is up no body is taking away from what did in the past just like no one take nothing from Jerry Rice pass when he played for the Seahawks when it’s over it’s over you can’t play football for ever . And both of those picks were on Brady because both passes feld short because his arm strength is gone. The love you have for Brady is very unhealthy bro !!!

  11. Oneilbuc Says:

NEfan. You said 2 drops he threw the ball behind him lol 🤣🤣🤣 . JimmyfromNY. Anybody that knows football can see Brady is washed up!!

  12. Oneilbuc Says:

Lol man ain’t no team is going to snig Brady next year are less the owner know that his fan base only care about names and they would sale out their stadium .

  13. Oneilbuc Says:

Lol 🤣🤣 why are y’all bringing up the offensive line Brady is the least sacked quarterback in the NFL this season . You guys can keep saying he don’t trust his o line all you want but he’s had plenty of time to throw the ball. I guess Russell Wilson don’t trust his o line. I guess Zack Wilson don’t trust his o line either if you ain’t going to give them that excuse don’t give it to Brady .

  14. NEfan Says:

Oneiltobrady, Evan’s wasn’t even looking back for the ball. Brady had yet ANOTHER Td called back for an illegal shift the very next play he throws a strike to Otton for a first down called back by a holding call on Wirf. 4.dropped balls for 1st downs.Oneilsuckyall, answer me this, why is it once the O goes into hurry up mode, spread out the O and use play action and motion, all of a sudden Evan’s and Brady are on the same page and playing like they can beat any team? Do they looked washed up then?? FYI, the only player that can get a yard on a 4th & 1 is your washed up QB. Bowels wants to run this O like he has Earl Campbell or John Riggins. Ground and pound is extinct like Bowles HC career.

  15. Rob Says:

Oneilbuc your hatred for Brady and desire to see him retire is blinding you to the fact that this team is just poorly coached. Are you a Bruce Arians ghost account?

  16. Oneilbuc Says:

Rob . You can call it hate if you want I don’t care facts or facts Brady is washed up that’s the truth. I don’t care about Brady I’m a bucs fan before a fan of any player. Brady sucks and ain’t no team is singing him next year or less there fan base believe like you who are blinded by the love of a man who you never met before in your life. Lol 🤣🤣

  17. bucfan34 Says:

Blah blah blah… May be some decent sauce but it’s not worth a sh t when its cold.

  18. Bucs go Bucs Says:

    Oneilbuc,
You can’t seem to process facts. You sound awfully like New Englanders in 2019 when they screamed he was washed up.
Ask yourself this question by watching films… why do you think this offense is dysfunctional right now!?! A lot goes into producing this stinker week in and week out. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin for the most part are well covered whether ME is washed or whatever… and our route concept in 3rd downs are way predictable. 5 or more Defenders are sitting and waiting under 6 yards from LS and OL is not holding up (or Brady not trusting them for good reason) for enough time.
And people shouting Brady missing wide open WRs left and right, I am like what!?! Yes, there is occasional wide receiver on the other side when he is forcing a throw in one direction. It is called read progression. Yes, he is sometimes missing an open guy like Julio in the corner of the end zone in the opening drive. I blame Brady for that bad throw.
All in all, Tom is trying too much at this point while his supporting casts are not supporting him enough. His voice is hoarse for assuming cheerleader role in the sideline while he has to play the most difficult job on the field at the same time. It all adds up, man. Brady at 45… he is doing whatever he could at this point in his career. Please respect that.

    Go Bucs.

  19. Steve Says:

Coaches suck – keep hearing miscommunications and didn’t execute. Too many injuries. No protection for Brady. This says it all.
Get Jensen and Gronk back and improve the O line and coaching, then the Bucs have an SB chance.
