Clock Management Seminar

December 5th, 2022

Highlighted in comedy skit.

You know things are going bad when you become a national punching bag.

It seems the folks at FOX Sports were horrified watching Bucs coach Todd Bowles play for overtime last week, letting the clock run out despite Tom Brady at the switch. So much so that FOX produced a comedy skit, sort of like a “Saturday Night Live” skit, about coaches needing a clock management seminar.

And one star of the skit was someone playing the part of Bowles.

In the skit, a guy gave a lecture on how to succeed at clock management. He mentions how the clock always runs down and instructs the class to take notes. The skit then shows the actor portraying Bowles, sitting in the front row, frantically writing this nugget in a notebook.

Later the guy running the seminar is shown slapping the hands of the actor portraying Bowles when he incorrectly tries to call a timeout.

You want to know why a rookie is talking about how guys are just going through the motions? When a coach demonstrates such a public lack of trust in his best players at crunch time, that’s not exactly motivating for a team.

    *facepalm*
    Glazers must be embarrassed

  2. Tye Says:

It was inevitable the moment Arians named him as his replacement….
Bowles was horrible as the Jets HC and has no business remaining Tampa’s…

The only hope was that Brady could overcome Bowles incompetence but its just to much for even one of the greatest to adjust for!

  3. SB Says:

    Embarrassing. All I can say.
    “Simple as that”!

  4. AbucAway Says:

    That’s a good chuckle

  5. Sal Says:

Wake me up when the season ends 😴

  6. GStone941 Says:

Can’t wait for tonight, the fan base gonna be rabid. Wish I had call confidence in this ships direction, we know where we’re heading, crashed on the rocks, and the crew can turn to the Captain err Coach, and ask where did you land us?

It must be the strawberries from Plant City

  7. Crickett Baker Says:

OMG ! It’s like we were treated in our first season going 0-26. A laughing stock for the NFL..

  8. Crickett Baker Says:

It was pretty funny though. If only it was not about us.

  9. Joe in Michigan Says:

I think the Joe that said something along the lines of “If you’re scared, leave the building!” spoke for a lot of Bucs fans. Bowles SHOULD be getting roasted for the clock mismanagement.

  10. SufferingSince76 Says:

I really thought this organization had turned the corner and would no longer tolerate stuff like this. Must have been dreaming.

  11. Aceofaerospace Says:

    Embarrassing.

  12. NEfan Says:

I don’t believe the man in the skit is mimicking Bowles, they have him taking notes, Bowles is a statue on the sidelines. Now if the man was sleeping that would be more believable. WOW, I hope someone sent a blank manilla envelope to Bowels house with a flash drive in it with this skit. Wake the F up!!!

  13. BucsBeBack (Artist formally known as: BringBucsBack) Says:

Very unrealistic! This “coach Bowles” appeared attentive & as if he wanted to improve.

  14. NEfan Says:

BucsBeBack@ I wrote the exact same thing only I was censored by Joe’s intern. I also suggested they send a blank manilla envelope to his home with a flash stick with this content on it so he can see how foolish he is. I have to believe he has to feel the walls closing in on him. What on earth was Licht and the Glazers thinking letting BA talk them into hiring a proven 2 time loser to finally a winning organization. Oh BA, where are you??? Bucs are losing come out come out wherever you are so the fans can publically thank you!

  15. GABucsFan Says:

Now that’s funny. Especially the graphic that calls out Tampa Bay. Agree with BucsBack, unrealistic portrayal of Bowles…should have been just staring off in space.

  16. Fishhawkbuc Says:

Hey now, tread lightly. Todd can’t help the way he was born and subsequently “wired”. PC police are watching

  17. Erik Hesson | Fine Artist | Founder of UniqueModernArt.com Says:

WE ARE OFFICIALLY A LAUGHING STOCK AGAIN.

    THANK YOU, BOWLES.

YOU ARE A NICE GUY AND A GOOD D COORDINATOR, BUT YOU GUYS ALL SUCK WITHOUT BA AT THE HELM.

  18. SB~LV Says:

Shove the clock up his arse !

  19. Rudy Says:

Wondering where the Glazers are. I largely ignore the controversy they stirred with my other team Manchester United, but it seems like only money interests them. Not exactly a Rooney type, interested at all in the prestige of an NFL organization. Just money. Hopefully seats will go empty, unfilled by disinterested and boycotting fans, and become cheap so the working folks can go to a game sometime but not meaningfully support such a despicable ownership group. We love the Bucs, and can clearly see that our team owners do not. I hope they sell this franchise, or fulfill our lust for a true bloodbath by openly firing both the obvious culprits for our struggles. There is no way any reasonable person can conclude that this team lost to five franchises this season for any other reason than a stubborn fixation by the coaches on ineffective game plans that were repeated serially after they failed. No one. Coaching is an art, and after this many blunders, it’s painfully obvious we need to move on from the coaches. Glazers: show some chutzpah; you’re torturing the entire fan base 💯

  20. ViSyl Says:

I hope we lose by 40 this evening, so we can get rid of these clowns

  21. Rayjay1122 Says:

This is what happens when people are given jobs for reasons other than merits or professional competency. Hires for friendships or appearance is not a recipe for success. Just saying.

  22. Rudy Says:

@Rayjay1122 I’ve heard this insinuation a lot lately. These were two coaches we won a Super Bowl with, and were familiar with the program. Continuity is important, and for all intents, these two coaches were excellent candidates, and not just for skin color, so stop it 🛑. On their own, however, they decided to impose their own creation/inventions, and for that alone, they deserve criticism and to be ousted. Their recipe(s) stink. If they were white coaches, surely you wouldn’t be saying that. If they were winners, you’d be thrilled. This was a sh!tty decision by Arians, it turns out. If we’d gotten Sean Payton and been losing, people would’ve been clamoring for the two current clowns. The important thing is to learn and grow, and just ignore color. That qualifier is outdated. Mike Tomlin is an example. He took the Steelers to the top. A black coach. We need to just call it what it is: it was a good gamble but we crapped out. End of story.

  23. Jay Telis Says:

I agree with everyone who posted a comment. Absolutely. I’ve been saying this loudly to my TV….forget Arians and Brady squabble….they want to win they will shut up, especially Bruce Arians who needs to shut his mouth and get off Brady…..or he could be gone, gone like his pick for coaches. Bye, Bye the team is NOT working well together at all.

  24. NEfan Says:

Rudy, the facts are the facts, BA had a double initiative that I applaud but he didn’t take into consideration what was best for the players and or team. There have been many great black coaches including Tomlin. Color, gender or preference shouldn’t make a difference. BA screwed the pooch on all accounts. By the way, where is he, faking another heart attack until the Bucs win.

  25. Anonymous Says:

So what happend if TB goes out and win decidedly by ignoring Bowles and Lostwich a calls his own game?

Interesting thought! Early retirement at the worst…… Super Bowl at best!

  26. JVZ Says:

So what hapoens if TB ignored both Bowels and Lostwich and won the rest of the game including the SB.

  27. Browsing from DC Says:

Funny, sad, and true all at once. Andy Reid used to be the worst at clock management so apparently he took this course along with Belichick. At least he learned.

And for ppl calling for Eric Bieniemy as a replacement, he’s Andy Reid’s Byron Leftwich imo. Andy Reid still has the “red pen”. Bieniemy might be an improvement, but that’s a pretty low bar set by Bowles and Lefty. At least Bieniemy looks engaged during the game. I’ll give him that.

  28. Jerseybuc Says:

What an absolute embarrassment. Go from one of the best team in the league for 2 years to this bozo show. Changes need to be made should have already been made

  29. Ultra ClodHopper Says:

Sad thing is, Bowles played the clock perfectly for what he wanted accomplish.
