“Fraud, Fraud, Fraud!”

November 30th, 2022

One of Todd Bowles’ biggest boosters couldn’t even give the Bucs coach a pass after watching his coaching staff absolutely give away a vital, needed win in Cleveland on Sunday.

Former NFL suit and coffee fetcher for Bill Walsh, Al Davis and Bill Belicheat, football analyst and former Browns GM Michael Lombardi, teed off on the Bucs for their loss in Cleveland while Lombardi spoke on his podcast “GM Shuffle.”

(Lombardi also had very choice words for Bucs offensive coordinator Bryon Leftwich but Joe’s saving that for another post.)

For years Lombardi has talked up Bowles as a strong coach. Lombardi is a Bill Parcells guy and damn near anyone from the Parcells/Belicheat coaching tree Lombardi treats like royalty. Bowles is from that Parcells tree.

(Aside from Andy Reid and Pete Carroll, Lombardi hammers coaches regularly, basically because they are not from the Parcells/Belicheat tree. These ex-NFL guys sure do protect their own.)

Even when the Bucs were winning the past two years, Lombardi rarely gave former Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians much credit. However, Arians’ defensive coordinator Bowles got a lot of praise (see above).

Well, the joke in Cleveland was so bad, not even Lombardi could defend Bowles. And while Lombardi didn’t fully crucify Bowles (he did Leftwich), Lombardi came right out and called the Bucs a “fraud.”

In his podcast each week, Lombardi gives a “Fraud of the Week.”

“It’s got to be Tampa,” Lombardi began. “You’ve got the bye week. Coming off a big win in Munich. You’ve got the ball with a 17-10 lead against a sh!tty Browns team that playing for nothing other than Deshaun [Watson] coming back next week and you can’t get first downs and you can’t put the game away?

“Fraud, fraud, fraud!”

Was Sunday rock bottom? Joe cannot say that. Joe thought it was rock bottom when the Bucs, behind one of the dumbest gameplans Joe has ever seen in the NFL (thanks Byron!), gagged in Pittsburgh.

That looked like rock bottom. Then the Bucs traveled to Carolina who just fired their coach, traded their best player and started an XFL refugee at quarterback. The Bucs got slapped around. Joe thought that was rock bottom.

Then the Bucs went to Cleveland and look at what happened. What makes anyone think a repeat of this isn’t coming with the Stinking Panthers or the slimy Saints or spiraling Arizona?

Why are folks at One Buc Palace tolerating Leftwich?

Reeeeeeally not looking forward to Monday night now. At least my Sunday will be peaceful.

This team is anchored on the bottom.

    Fraud, indeed.

    Got pictures ?

Joe … ‘Why are folks at One Buc Palace tolerating Leftwich?’

Had to read the whole article to get to it Joe, but THAT’S really the question that needs to be answered for us to have any chance of salvaging THIS season. If we keep doing what we’ve been doing, we’ll keep getting the same disastrous results.

I don’t expect the Glazer Boyz to say anything about what’s going on, but why is Licht being given a pass through this mess? He’s the GENERAL MANAGER responsible for hiring & firing; he’s the ARCHITECT of this debacle. For heaven sake’s Jason, MANAGE SOMETHING. Rome’s burning & you’re fiddling.

It MIGHT be that the Bucs don’t have anyone on their current staff who could do a better job than BL. MAYBE you’ve already talked to BA about calling plays and he’s said ‘Are you kidding me? My legacy’s secure. Why would I jeopardize that trying to fix this sh1t show?’ MAYBE others on-staff have been offered the job & said ‘No way Jose; even with Tom Brady this offense is going nowhere’.

Whatever the ‘fix’ is Jason, doing SOMETHING has to be better than maintaining the status quo, which coincidentally is all you’ve done all season. You gleefully took the credit when things were going good. Well, this is the other side of the coin that YOU created. Fix it.

  5. BucfaninMi Says:

    They won’t make the playoffs.

  6. kent Says:

History repeats itself. Bowls was a failure with the Jets and now the Bucs and this is a no win situation for the owners. If they don’t hire minorities they take flak but how can they fire a black coach? There is always an excuse for the coach, poor players, not enough time etc. Looks like the Bucs are going to be disfunctional for sometime.

  7. DungyDance Says:

Billboard campaign. Show them how unacceptable this is.

  8. ClwJB Says:

The way we get their attention is boycott the games

They are insulting all of our intelligence by forcing us to watch this high school level staff coach in the NFL.

Empty seats and boo birds will be the theme Monday night.

Glazers wake up and smell the coffee!!!!!!!!

  9. SufferingSince76 Says:

Make the Glazers pay with empty seats. Money is the only language they speak.

  10. 2022 Year of the GOAT RETURN Says:

IF there is any sense of leadership at ONE BUCS PLACE , someone on the coaching staff needs to be FIRED, …. whether its BOWELS OR LEFT(town)WICH …. SALVAGE THE SEASON …. wake the team up ……

  11. Tap-Out Says:

Who are these people …love your team and all it entails. Tom & Mike get on the same page! …. Mike if you hurt set it out until you’re ready! That’s all that’s needed …has not one thing to do with coaching ability!

  12. Da Bucs Guy Says:

    Incompetent coaches.

  13. SB~LV Says:

    Peter Principal!
    Where is the GM ?
    Where are the owners?
    What about the locker room?
    What about the fans?
    This is inexcusable!

  14. BA’s Red Pen Says:

This is the crap you get with a Defensive head coach.

  15. Alanbucsfan Says:

Cade Otton plays half the game and gets 0 targets?
Rachaad White and Chris Godwin are killing it and you keep targeting M Evans and C Brate – a combined 4 rec on 14 targets.
Do the coaches upstairs see anything? or is Leftwich just ignoring them?

  16. mark2001 Says:

Todd and Bruce are flush in Glazer money. So what is the problem?

  17. gotbbucs Says:

Rock bottom? No. I think maybe the last couple years were just the twilight zone as far as this organization is concerned.

This style of play and disfunction just feels normal.

You can blame whoever you want, but the silence from ownership, front office, and the seeming lack of accountability for Leftwich is starting to smell like Brady has the power in that offensive room. Any other offensive coordinator who’s offense is putting up these numbers would have been gone weeks ago, so why is Leftwich still here? I don’t know, it just smells way too fishy for me.

  18. Henry Says:

Rock bottom was when Arians retired and gifted these bozos free baloney sandwiches.

  19. NEfan Says:

Tap out should tap out and take Bowles and BL with you. I can’t stand BL he is horrible but it is Bowels who manages the timeouts and he himself admitted he didn’t want to use them. Absolutely inexcusable. Can ALL you BA groupies tell me where he is? I guess we wait to see if Bucs win again before the groundhog sticks his head out.

  20. Jeff Says:

Clueless Todd. And BA LIED about Byron. The red pen was real

  21. stpetebucfan Says:

Please do not talk about Buc lows with the Saints on the schedule. They may end up rubbing salt in the wounds in the Buc’s own house. Yes the Saints are awful but that would make a loss to them even worse. The table is set for a real debacle.

One BAND AID solution. It obviously requires total buy in from TB12! Leftwich needs to take the immediate fall, Bowles may yet join him. BA comes back as “Offensive Guru” and calls the play and gets total control of the offense…that means Brady has to buy in totally as well!!!

BA reimplements the “no risk it” offense…the season is down the crapper anyway the ONLY miracle that could change it is if BA and TB found the old wide open offense…pass to set up the run…not the other way around.

And mostly..BA gives the Bucs their ONLY chance to recapture their swag. I’m not saying he WILL do it if given the chance…I’m saying he’s the only one at this point in the season who COULD do it. If he got the buyin from TB12 he’d be golden.

  22. DungyDance Says:

Disagree with boycotting games. Fill the stadium, and BOOOO the crap out of them. Loudly, constantly.

  23. David Says:

I know I was planning on the Bengals game but after that debacle in Cleveland said nope, and bought some Lightning tickets instead.
Not going, not even sure if I’ll be watching, until BL is gone. Bowles should probably go as well, but if he could show that he will allow the O to open up with a different OC, I’ll give him a little bit of a pass because the defense has been very good.
I’m just not so sure if it’s all BL the more I think about it. I think Bowles might have too much of a hand in the O, forcing them to run it over and over when they’re not a running team. Forcing them to be extremely conservative in the passing game until they absolutely have to go down field more.

  24. Craig Says:

We have good enough players that it makes it even worse. We had really good players that never even made it off the bench against the Browns, because out coach can’t even remember who the are.

It is worse than just fraud, it is outright armed robbery.

  25. THOMAS PFALZ Says:

Bowles & Leftwitch are taking a good team & running it into the ground.

  26. DrunkinYbor Says:

Bowles is the wrong coach for this team at this time. Defense has enough talent to win with a average DC. Offense has enough talent to win with a moron O.C. Stop trying to be the whiz kid genius and throw the G.D. ball to the best receiver in BUCS history. I’m ashamed of this sissy walk and talk quietly whisper just make a hmm sound very very quietly while we carry a BIG stick. Yeah that stick is up your apple hide. Coward no respect for a coward NONE

  27. orlbucfan Says:

The dinosaur called a GOAT will be gone next year. And, if I have to read one more braindead comment about Sean Payton replacing Bowles, this blog is a joke. GOAT has already cost Bucs at least 3 games. Why? He’s too old and needs to retire. What is it you GOAT groupies don’t get? The defense played well as did STs. But GOAT could only score 17 points? He prances out with this plays order taped on his arm. He doesn’t follow it? The team deserves to win MNF in NOLA. Will they?

  28. Goatfarmer Says:

    Brian Flores or Eric Bienemy.

  29. Aaron Brooks Says:

Bucs win on Monday..Mike Evans keeps his cool vs Lattimore for once

  30. alton d green Says:

Brian Flores or Bienemy??????? WOW! talking bout doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Yeah hire Flores so he can sue the team if he gets fired

  31. Seattle Buc is back in TB Says:

The days of selling your tickets to rival fans are back. Now you’ll be playing infront of hostile crowds at home again Bucs. You did it to yourselves.

    Not gonna happen.
Modern/Glazer Buccaneer hiring history says the next coach will almost certainly be Caucasian.
I’ve been saying this for years…..check out all the HCs since Sam Wyche.
