Couple Of Milestones For Bucs Players Within Reach Sunday

November 4th, 2022

“Let’s set some records, Tom!”

With a huge game on Sunday, Mike Evans could just about seal his bid to become a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. And Tom Brady, with just an OK game, should hit a milestone that may take at least a decade break.

Mike Evans needs 122 yards receiving to bust 10,000 receiving yards — and he has 77 touchdowns. Only five receivers (Jerry Rice, Calvin Johnson, Marvin Harrison, Randy Moss and Larry Fitzgerald) have had at least 10,000 yards and 75 touchdowns in their first 10 seasons. Four are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the fifth is just a formality before he is inducted, Fitzgerald.

Brady? What more is there to say? Every time he steps on the field he breaks records.

Brady needs 164 yards passing to reach 100,000 for his career (regular season and postseason combined). No quarterback has done that.

If the Bucs can uncork their offense, we could be seeing a historic Sunday at The Licht House.

I think you mean 100,000 yards for Brady, not 10,000.

  2. Anonymous Says:

So Joe, you gave us the leaders that Evans is chasing. Who is behind Brady and who is going to pass him in yardage in a decade?

  3. Joe Says:

    Anon:

Pat Mahomes has roughly 25,000 between regular season and playoffs and he’s still young.

  4. SOEbuc Says:

Brady is breaking the record for most 3 and out

someone else said a wk or so ago ;; ” stats are for loosers ” the only stat they should be concerned about is getting more W’s ……..

  6. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Stats are not for losers. The man who said that while head coach of the Bucs was and is a loser.

Stats are just there. They are a part of the game and the media. They are always going to be there.

And certainly, Tom Brady is not a loser.

That said…I do agree the team needs to focus on winning.

I believe certain players are…but with so many backups (and new faces), the culture change has suffered a setback.

If we were healthy, there is no way I believe we’d be in this boat.

Fans are pointing fingers at some big names..but those are probably the ones who want to win the most. If you think a certain player is not doing well, rewind the tape and see if there is a reason for it.

And finally, I personally believe Tom was affected by the divorce proceedings. It’s over now, so hopefully he gets his head back in the game.

So Joe the article says players with 10,000 yards and 75 TDs in there first 10 yrs and the graf says 9 yrs what is correct

  8. TampabayDJ82 Says:

Rough crowd in here ! Evans ( If he stays healthy ) will end his career as one of the ALL TIME greatest. He doesn’t care about stats , especially right now. And Brady getting 100,000 yard’s passing is just something that we might not EVER see again let alone a decade from now ! The way the QBs are today it’s more likely they won’t get a chance to play 15 years or more the way Brady and a few others have. They are running QBs and more likely to be injured. Brady getting 100,000 in our Bucs uniform is something that we should all be celebrating . I think a lot of people forget that before Brady our best QB was Winston !! Think 🤔 about that… Go Bucs and thank you Joe

  9. D-Rome Says:

I didn’t realize Calvin Johnson had so many yards. If he didn’t retire early he would have captured the record and made it untouchable.

Remarkable achievement by Mike Evans considering all the trash QBs he played with and trash HCs he played under. Johnson had Matt Stafford for the bulk of his career.

  10. PSL Bob Says:

Joe, you’re dyslexia showed up. “Evans has 8,978 yards.” The chart has 9,878 which would match the 122 yards you said he’ll need to hit 10,000. No, big deal, but I was questioning your math before I looked at the chart.

  11. Fishhawkbuc Says:

I’ll take zero yards and a win at this point.

  12. Listnfrmafar Says:

Neither Brady or Evan’s give a shat about that. Guys like Devin White & Davis need to kudos to feed their egos. Make or break game.

  13. Arians4President Says:

Joe, Evans has 9,878 yards, not “8,978”

  14. Panhandle Buc Says:

Stat tracking Evans is about the only thing I look forward to each week. Dude is a blessing to Buc Nation and community!

  15. Bucsfan61 Says:

Evans is the Goat of the Buc’s since he come on board….GO BUC’S

  16. Goatfarmer Says:

This is all that is left. Milestones. Not wins.

Kind of like the universe ending with a whimper.
