Should Be A Historic Day For Mike Evans

October 2nd, 2022

On the cusp of Bucs history.

Barring something horrible happening between now and the second quarter of tonight’s game with the Chiefs, Bucs stud receiver Mike Evans should make history.

Evans already is the best receiver the Bucs have ever had. And if Evans can get 1,000 yards receiving this year, Joe believes that should be enough to get him into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Drafted in 2014, has never not had a 1,000-yard season. If he accomplishes the feat this year, that will be nine straight seasons to start a career. Evans already holds the NFL record for eight straight seasons (and counting) of having 1,000 yards each season to begin a career.

But there is more than that record.

If Evans’ first catch today goes for seven or more yards, he will be the greatest offensive player in Bucs history, never mind just greatest receiver.

Currently, James Wilder has the most yards (9,449) from scrimmage in Tampa Bay history. Evans is second at 9,443.

Now, can someone explain to Joe in a logical manner why the hell Wilder is not in the Ring of Honor?

Wilder not in the Ring is an absolute travesty. He was before the Glazers time, so maybe someone needs to ‘splain them the truth.

  2. Jeff Says:

How? Chiefs pass rush will dominate this flimsy O-line. And the Chiefs DB’a are some of the best in the league. This feels like a blowout. Chiefs 31 Bucs 12. Chiefs score all 31 points in the first half.

  3. August 1976 Buc Says:

James Wilder is still there, Enough said ROH for Wilder, the best RB in the History of the Franchise.
Hey Ira, what about campaigning for J Wilder in the R O H.
Any fan from back in the days of the first Lost decade can tell you about Wilder.

    GO MIKE GO BUCS!!!!!!

  4. SCBucsFan Says:

Jeff a blowout really? KC offense isn’t very good this year. They are missing Hill big time… The defense is better than they have been but not elite like our defense is playing!! Also we get at least ME13 back today and I’m sure either Julio or Godwin play tonight. I think this week is the first week the offense starts to look formidable. I don’t think they will be running an all cylinders but I do believe we score 3 touchdowns today. That will be enough to win…. BUCS 24 CHIEFS 20

  5. BucBrady Says:

Can someone please knock Doug Martin off the list—that’s embarrassing.

  6. BucsFanSince76 Says:

Team success or lack of during your career is most likely part of the metric for inclusion in ROH? Paul Gruber was a freaking beast Olineman for 11 years , but you never see quality Olineman in pretty much any teams’ ROH. Olineman are the most under appreciated players in football by the casual fan.

  7. Gbobucsfan Says:

Didn’t realize Dougie was that high (no pun intended)

  8. Bucsfan13 Says:

The Chiefs DBs are not some of the best in the league lol

  9. AbucAway Says:

Hey Mike, you may want to hold on to the ball with this catch. 🤣

It’s going to be a pleasure to see him break the record at home. Go Mike! Go Bucs!

  10. August 1976 Buc Says:

Hey BucsFanSince1976, Paul Gruber got inducted into the ROH in 2012. J Dub should have been up already for a long time now.

  11. Denny Gay Says:

If I could I would vote for Wilder in the ring all day. When Doug left, Wilder carried this team

  12. Bellingham Bucs Fan Says:

Wilder needs to go in during a throwback game next year. There are no more excuses for this crime.

  13. Mike C Says:

Jeff, I will take that bet.

  14. Buc1987 Says:

Wilder in the ROH is a no brainer….and I wasn’t even a Bucs fan when he played for them.

    Long overdue.

  15. Buc1987 Says:

Jeff is that idiot that keeps coming in here predicting doom and gloom before the game. Then when the Bucs win he runs and hides. If they lose he can come back in and gloat.

  16. EEK Says:

    Not enough touchdowns
    Not enough wins
    Grim time in Bucs history

He was so good though so why not?

  17. Buccobill99 Says:

  18. WillieG Says:

Hopefully his first catch goes for a TD. I want to see if he tosses the record breaker into the stands. Lol

  19. Beeej Says:

Bucs have to deactivate 6 guys prior to kickoff, dying to know who

  20. SteelStudBuc Says:

We shouldn’t be making too many Doug Martin drug jokes… it looks like Tom Bradys been using something. Look at his 2021 face vs 2022 face and then go look at every cities ghetto and look at their faces.

  21. SteelStudBuc Says:

Why u think he took 2 weeks off in the middle of training camp looking like he’s been smoking rock

  22. Just Leave Trask Alone Says:
