Report: Ke’Shawn Vaughn Available For Trade

October 20th, 2022

Bottomed out?

If you are wondering where Bucs third-year running back Sneak Vaughn has been hiding, if a report from a solid NFL reporter is correct, Vaughn might be harder to find around these parts soon.

The NFL trade deadline is Nov. 1 at 4 p.m., less than two weeks away. And don’t be shocked if Vaughn is shipped out.

Matt Lombardo of Heavy.com, a former Eagles and Giants beat guy for NJ.com and current NFL columnist, says he heard Vaughn is available.

Joe wonders why Vaughn has fallen off the map so quickly. Last year Vaughn seemed to be getting better and it also appeared Vaughn was a quality backup when he thrived late in the season and in the playoffs.

This season? Vaughn has been in the witness protection program. He has yet to take a snap on offense much less carry the rock. And last week in Pittsburgh he played the most this season logging half the snaps on special teams.

Vaughn has only been active for four games this fall.

For the Bucs running game to be dead last in the NFL, you are telling Joe that Vaughn can’t get a look-see? Either Vaughn has hacked off someone terribly or he’s hit rock bottom.

  1. Lt. Dan Says:

Hitting rock bottom as Joe puts it, along with Cam Akers being available lowers Vaughn’s value I would think. What – maybe we get a sixth rounder in exchange for Vaughn?

  2. Da Bucs Guy Says:

Sounds like the start of a firesale.

  3. BAā€™s Red Pen Says:

Trade Vaughn? What are we looking to get back, a football, a tee or maybe an 8th round draft pick. lol

  4. BucFanForever Says:

They will trade him for another receive they wonā€™t throw the ball to.

  5. Gofortheface30 Says:

    For what, a 2036 7th round pick?

  6. Tampabaybucfan Says:

We won’t get much for him….

  7. PSL Bob Says:

He just hasn’t had the carries to prove himself since Fournette arrived. As is typical for Bucs players, he’ll probably get picked up by another team and become a star.

  8. Beeej Says:

6th or 7th of think. He got passed up by White, but we only HAVE like 3 backs that I’m aware of?

  9. Marc Coppola Says:

He looked om in limited snaps last year. What is going to happen when they run Leeny into the ground. At this rate the guy is going to suffer a major injury by the BYE. Would make more sense to hold on to Vaughn and spell Lenny every few series.

  10. pewter941 Says:

    how?

  11. Anonymous Says:

Just swap him for Cam Akers.

  12. Rick Says:

you know what’s crazy? Akers is the better player but if we traded them straight up for each other is there any doubt that Vaughn would do quite well in the Rams scheme and Akers would average 3 yards per carry here?

  13. ModHairKen Says:

    Vaughn has zero trade value.

  14. Beeej Says:

I think they decided Vaughn isn’t a pass catcher

  15. Hodad Says:

If you want to trade him maybe you should showcase him?

  16. BucsFanSince1976 Says:

Hey Ira-since Jason Cole broke the story about Jensen coming back possibly in November , and I am guessing you have Coles’ number-could you give him a ring and see if there is anything to this Jensen report??

  17. Mike Says:

These reports always come from the players agent looking for a different opportunity

  18. beano Says:

This season is a bust. Dump Brady, let him go save his family, save the Bucs money, and play Trask. Trask played well in the preseason (with truck drivers), had a higher quarterback rating than both Gabbert and Brady in the last preseason game (look it up), and deserves it. If Trask were black, you’d all be screaming that the Bucs are rayciss for not giving him a shot. The Bucs are living in the past ā€“ 2020 ā€“ and it ainā€™t coming back. Time to move on.

  20. Pewter Power Says:

Not the beginning of a fire sale to trade someone so mediocre. Bucs probably wonā€™t have any takers and probably should keep him in case of injury. Giovanni Bernard is no better when he comes back

  21. BucsFanSince1976 Says:

jason cole is a solid NFL reporter and a HOF voter like Ira-so please stop.

  22. BAā€™s Red Pen Says:

Go back to sleep beano Trask sucks.

  23. beano Says:

Sounds real smart. NFL teams will be salivating over a running back who hasn’t carried the ball all season. LMAO

  24. BAā€™s Red Pen Says:

    Beano must be Traskā€™s mom

  25. Leighroy Says:

Well if there’s one reason to dump the GOAT it’s the passer rating of the 3rd string QB from the 3rd preseason game of the year! Sound logic. Ironclad. Thank you for your valuable contribution.

  26. Jeff Says:

This feels more like the Yucs canā€™t find a way to use him. Too busy running Fournette up the gut for 2 yard losses.

  27. Cobraboy Says:

Who is this “Keshawn Vaugh?” He’s a Buc? Never heard of him.

  28. Statistically Insignificant Reader Says:

Trade for What?? Crutches, knee and shoulder wraps for Lichts geriatric unit?

  29. Bucobill99 Says:

Jeff stole mommys phone again aint that right troll boi

  30. My Momma Says:

My Momma thinks he’ll be packaged with a pick to get a left guard.

  31. beano Says:

“BAā€™s Red Pen Says: Trask sucks”

Any facts to support that? That’s what I thought.

  32. Marine Buc Says:

Trade Vaughn and a 7th round draft pick to the Rams for Cam Akers…

I believe Akers can ball when healthy. He might benefit from a change of scenery.

  33. beano Says:

“Leighroy Says:Well if thereā€™s one reason to dump the GOAT itā€™s the passer rating of the 3rd string QB from the 3rd preseason game of the year!”

Leroy, you should have listened to your momma and stayed in grammar school. The reasons to dump Brady are many: we suck; we’re not winning the SB this year; he’s gone next year; he clearly has his head elsewhere; he’s acting like an azzhole missing team functions; I played ball, and can assure you the players resent his antics; so we’re wasting our year when we could be developing Trask (or not). Instead we’re hanging on to 2020 – which ain’t coming back – like a bunch of crybaby losers. Other teams have played their second and third string nobody-quarterbacks and done very well. But losers like you keep typing “the GOAT” when those days are over. LOSER.

  34. LVMYBUCS Says:

Because the Bucs dont know talent when they see it thats why we havent seen Vaugh on the field.

  35. TAMPA BAY DEMONā„¢ Says:

    Da Bucs Guy Says:
“Sounds like the start of a firesale.”
    ______

    Lol, really man?
    Ke’Shawn Vaughn is a firesale?
    Hardly.

  36. TAMPA BAY DEMONā„¢ Says:

    BAā€™s Red Pen Says:
“What are we looking to get back, a football, a tee or maybe an 8th round draft pick. lol”
    __________

    EXACTLY.

  37. TAMPA BAY DEMONā„¢ Says:

    beano Says:
    “This season is a bust.”
    ___________

    At 3 and fricking 3…
    the season is a “bust”.
    Some fans are….. interesting.

  38. Leighroy Says:

Oh you played ball? Sorry I didn’t realize you were a subject matter expert!
“We suck” is probably the argument of the decade, just so insightful and nuanced. Only someone who played could provide analysis like that. Good thing you listened to your momma and got your GED.

  39. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Jason Licht has ZERO clue or eye on drafting Running backs, he definitely can pass on gifted running backs as in Dalvin Cook and at minimum 10 others who would have helped out the bucs

  40. Bojim Says:

Let him go someplace where they will let him play. I always wanted to see him on the field.

  41. Coquiro Says:

He’s one of our best RB’s but they don’t know it. He runs hard and finds holes. Stupid to trade him.

  42. Craig Says:

If he goes I might follow him instead of staying a Bucs fan.

I love the Bucs, but there is so little to love this season. The Den of Depression is raising its ugly head.

  43. THOMAS PFALZ Says:

Whoever said Vaughn has no trade value is 100% correct. If someone offers 7th rd.pick they better take it. Lets face it, he was never very good. There are probably RB’s not even in the league better than he.

  44. Jordan Says:

Heā€™s really only interesting in a trade if that team is sending us a running back and they need someone to replace that player immediately somehow

David Montgomery from the Bears would be interesting.

  45. Letsbucinggo Says:

Vaughn or white leaves a lot to be desired might as well trade lenny and pass every down

  46. Nutterbuccer Says:

Starr Vaughn not trade him. I bet the rushing game gets better. Love lemme but he has gone back to dancing behind lime of scrimmage. Same for white.

  47. tampabayallday Says:

    blow it up

  48. Brandon Says:

He can’t be worse than No Legs Lenny when running the football.

  49. sasquatch Says:

I don’t get it. Why bother trading him? Why not use him? If all we’re gonna get is a 7th rounder, it just doesn’t seem worth it.

  50. Demetrius T Meeks Says:

Crazy thing about it he has the best vision of all the running backs on this roster.. Bucs always ruin a good thing, drafted white when youā€™re already set at running back, if Iā€™m Vaughn please trade me!

  51. Demetrius T Meeks Says:

Guy avgs damn near 5ypc, like how do you trade that?

  52. Seattle Buc is back in TB Says:

This is stupid as hell. He should be getting touches. He was a 3rd round pick and plays well when he gets carries.

  53. catcard202 Says:

A few things come to mind…

Brady doesn’t trust him to Pass Pro or Catch the dump-off.

Lenny is a beast…A true 3down RB: Very durable, dominating RB touches in 2022, is a proven protector with some juice out the backfield as a pass catcher.

White is just better…Another 3down RB, much more versatile & comes w/ WR worthy hands/routes. The RB1 of the future.

If the FO can flip him for another positional need or 5th-6th rd pick next yr…It’s worth exploring those possibilities.

  54. Just Saying Says:

Bucs have a bottom 3 run game, donā€™t think this guy is good enough to have a single carry, want to trade us a 2nd for him? Moronic

  55. Biff Barker Says:

KSV has some trade value. It’s just minimal.

  56. Power of Pewter Says:

Vaughn has no touches on the 32nd-ranked run game, and he has trade value? Someone needs to put down the crack pipe.

  57. BillyBucco Says:

Why would any team out there ā€payā€ Vaughn to play football?
The Bucs havenā€™t even USED him in 3 years.

You canā€™t give away your trash and expect something of value in return.
Iā€™m NOT saying he is trash. How would anyone even know if he is good or not.

Canā€™t be worse than pushing down a QB after he let the ball go 2 seconds ago.
Heā€™s not worse than any of our other guys who have dropped passes and fumbled footballs and well just backed up while guys catch balls in front of them.

We arenā€™t deep anywhere, we arenā€™t rich, and we dint have a HC or Offensive Coordinator that any other team covets.

I can think about 15 other coaches I would rather have.

  58. steele Says:

All Bucs RBs replaceable. Vaughn, probably the best pure runner of the bunch, deserves far more opportunities, whether here or elsewhere. A waste if he’s dumped. Lenny is average. Not a beast, not power. Mincing footwork requiring a head of steam and open field. Good receiving. Rachaad, a similar type but slow long striding.

This team needs a legit feature back that can carry an offense, and an OL that actually works.

  59. Rob In Land O Lakes Says:

I feel very confident in BL’s evaluation of Vaughn. If BL doesn’t like him, there must be talent somewhere. If they trade him for next to nothing, don’t be surprised if he plays well in the right situation.
