Leonard Fournette Among League Leaders In Catches

October 10th, 2022

Lenny gets some YAC Sunday.

Yes, Playoff Lenny is a complete back. And here’s the latest evidence.

Through five games of the 2022 NFL season, the Bucs clearly have two of the best receivers in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Well, you can add Playoff Lenny to the list.

Playoff Lenny has the second-most catches for running backs in the league. He’s tied with the sainted male model with the Stinking Panthers, Christian McCaffrey with, 26 catches.

The leader of the pack is Austin Ekeler of the Chargers. He has 31.

Joe never thought when the Bucs signed Playoff Lenny that he would end up being one of the biggest weapons the Bucs would have in the passing game. Here we are.

Of course, Playoff Lenny is coming off a 10-catch  as the Bucs survived with a win over the scrappy if not quarterback-less Dixie Chicks, 20-15.

He’s trending towards an 80 catch season. That would be very impressive.

  2. Goatfarmer Says:

Run game needs run blocking help, obviously. Bowles should get a consultant. He won’t but he should.

I thought Lenny had a shot at 2000 scrimmage yards before Jensen went down and out.

  3. Duane Says:

Lenny does so much of the dirty work for this team. Considering he is not one of the top features in this offense, he consistently finds ways to contribute. Hats off to #7.

  4. LVMYBUCS Says:

Lenny aint gonna last if we dont start using Vaugh and White more.

  5. CrackWise Says:

    Lenny is saving Bradys arm.

NO WAY Brady can keep throwing 50 plus times a GAME.

UNLESS 10-20 of them are to the RBs. I like IT TOO. It is almost like an extension of the Run game and very much is needed UNTIL they can figure out how to get the same production by running the ball.

  6. Casual Observer Says:

Lenny is an impressive back. And getting better with each game. Keep him healthy.

OK folks i’m going to test your common sense. We’ve had 5 games and I have consistently blamed 2 people. actually it’s one or the other. It’s like the chicken or the egg. Bowles or Leftwich Many of you are first in line to bitch and whine about the GOAT. Here’s where the common sense comes in. Tommy Boy threw for 350+ yards, 1 TD and no int’s. BUTT it’s like they were told to let the Birds back in after the half. They came out after the half and started calling stupid plays. So who is it, Lefty or Smiley??????????? We should all send that ref a dozen roses hahahaha. I’ve been a career Brady fan. I’ve actually seen refs help him up. They’ve asked him “are you OK?” hahaha BUTT, the media seems to think that the Birds would have won if not for that call. It’s Tom freak’n Brady folks

Interesting Stat – Chris Oliva of the Saints has better number this year than Mike Evans and nearly every other receiver in the NFC.
Lenny is a real load once he catches the ball.
A real nightmare, once he gets up a head of steam.

  9. Defense Rules Says:

Lenny had a great game yesterday. His 139 total yards and 2 TDs were what allowed us to win that game. He’s now caught 26-out-of-30 (86.7%) and is averaging 7.5 YPC on those. THAT’S impressive for a RB.

BTW Joe, another player who I thought had a nice game yesterday was Deadrin Senat. He’s only been in for a total of 47 def snaps in the past 3 games, but he now has 1 sack, 1 QB hit, 1 TFL, 5 solo tackles & 2 assists to show for it. That’s nice productivity for a DT barely getting 15 snaps per game. And he’s played against 3 pretty good running teams (Packers, Chiefs & Falcons).

  10. Dooley Says:

100 touches running and receiving on an offense that has run 320 plays over the course of 5 games. Lenny has also caught more passes the past two weeks with 17 receptions which is about double the 9 receptions he had in the first 3 games. We also ran that play where Mason pulls left after Kieft is motioned into the backfield from the TE position and popped a good chunk play off of it.

And parents, keep your little rug rats off the field. Tf you thinking? A YouTube moment?

Lenny has a SB ring now, but it sure hasn’t gone to his head. At least, his play hasn’t been affected. Jax blew it letting him go.

  14. Rod Munch Says:

I think it’s more a product of Brady playing with a hurt hand and/or shoulder, and just bailing on plays quickly. Also it has to do with Leftwich having zero ability and not scheming anyone to get open, leaving Lenny, underneath, as the only guy to get the ball.

Literally all Leftwich has to do is pick plays from Arians playbook, I don’t know how that idiot can screw up this much when he gets paid millions to just pick a play that already exists, same thing as you do in Madden, then have someone else run it.
