Kyle Brandt Thinks Tom Brady Hangs It Up Midseason

October 24th, 2022

Tom Brady exit near?

Remember last week when Joe’s good friend Rock Riley asked Tom Brady about Chris Simms saying he wouldn’t be shocked if Brady retired before the season ended?

Brady responded with a chuckle and said, “No retirement in my future.”

Well, move over Chris Simms. You have company. And it’s Kyle Brandt of NFL Network.

Brandt, who does a three-times-a-week podcast (with a weekly appearance by Josh Allen) called “Kyle Brandt’s Basement,” put out a Twitter video saying he can see the handwriting on the wall. He doesn’t believe for a second Brady will finish his NFL career on a team that is circling the drain.

So Brady, Brandt believes, will get out before the stench of the Bucs offense scars his legacy forever.

Rubbing salt in the wound, Brandt said the Bucs look very much like a 6-11 team.

“I can’t believe this is the ball of garbage they are,” Brandt said of the Bucs.

So it seems the Bucs, if you believe Brandt, have even more motivation to turn things around. If they don’t, Brady may play his final Bucs home game in Munich.

If that happens, would Kyle Trask finally get to wear a Bucs uniform on gameday?

  1. Bucs go Bucs Says:

    Hard to argue.
Now Brady needs to decide how he should allocate his resources among his sh**s going forward. More into improving his on field performance (including extra time with WRs on timing and option route tuning and preparation on game planning) or more into his off field baggage.
It is up to him now because I don’t believe this team does not have any other leadership to fall back on, coaches and players.
    Your call, Tom.

  2. Phred Says:

TB12 doesn’t want to go out like this. He needs to go to Bowles and the Glazers and say “Leftwich or me.”

  3. Hodad Says:

I can see Tom coming down with a torn liabrum, or some sort of injury that would wink, wink, end his season. Out right saying no mas I don’t see happening. Although I wouldn’t blame him for going all out AB during a game!

  4. BigZ Says:

I thought the same thing yesterday. That’s unlike tb12 but so has the off and regular season been for him.

It’s a very apathetic team. That doesn’t get fixed overnight. I didn’t like the idea bowles was handed the job, rarely does that work. Plus his nyj sucked. Who would have hired him last year? He’s Lovie and Raheem. I don’t want him for a rebuild.

Kyle Brandt is full of it. Brady will not quit in the middle of a season. He is not a quitter. He will finish this season out, push as much out of himself and teammates, however far it goes, win or lose. Then he will decide. He literally gave up his life, dumped his marriage, just to play again. He expected standards and all-in from Bowles and co., and he didn’t get them.

I’ll remind again: remember the post-game after a loss last season where Brady spoke of “fighters”, and how “this team has fighters”. A bunch of these fighters are gone, Jensen (the literal fighter and enforcer) is out etc.

This season, there are no fighters, no one even that pissed off, except for Brady. Brady, who is old enough to be father to many of these youngsters, with whom I’ll bet he has difficulty communicating with, especially alone. This generational gap is something to think about.

Up against the Crows on Thurs Night?
    That’s a final straw game.
Play respectable and Brady will prob finish the season.
Play like little lost lambs and he may just give up.
The fans certainly will lose interest.
Bowels better tighten. Up or it’s down the bowl.

  7. Deeez NATZ Says:

Brady is going to quit.He seems like that kind of baby…He got the reptillian juice.Brady is no longer human.

  8. beano Says:

I said this weeks ago why didn’t Joe quote me?

  9. Joe M Says:

Everybody please read John Romano’s article in Tampa Bay times today. He’s spot on with the changes that need to be made. Join me in making a case to bring back Bruce. There’s zero passion and
winning desire with “Mr. Emotionless” himself…Todd Bowles. Fire Leftwitch Mr Glazer….please!

  10. SB~LV Says:

    Sean Payton

  11. BucsFan81 Says:

It’s Trask time now. Embrace it lol

  12. HC Grover Says:

Brady may hang it up this Friday after being massacred by The Ravens.

  13. Bojim Says:

Don’t think Brady would bail on a team mid season. It’s not in him.

  14. Your Mom Says:

Brady’s too much of a competitor imo.

  15. View from 132 Says:

Brady won’t retire. He’ll have an undiagnosed injury and be in the press box for the second half of the year.

  16. Tampabaybucfan Says:

It’s very hard for me to believe that Brady would end his career by quitting on his team…

It would be more likely that he would remain and try to become the hero….saving his team……someone needs to….because I don’t think the coaches can.

  17. WillieG Says:

I’m more inclined to think Brady will be motivated to come back next year if the Bucs have losing season this year. He will want that story written. “Tom Brady suffers through the worst season of his storied career but returns the next year and wins it all……… at age 46.”

  18. SOEbuc Says:

Lmao. Trask? Even if Brady did quit the team would still want to try to win games. We can play him if we no doubt want to tank for a different day in Tampa Bay next year.

  19. Howard Cosell Says:

Trask will get murdered behind this soft oline

  20. beano Says:

“Howard Cosell Says: Trask will get murdered behind this soft oline”

It’s a much better line than the line he played behind in preseason, and played well.

    Bucs v Colts

    QB RTGs

    Kyle Trask 99.6
    Blaine Gabbert 89.0
    Tom Brady 87.5

  21. Winny Testaverde Says:

Do Brady a solid and trade him to San Fran or Miami. The longest of long shots I realize…but this is stupid. I feel for him…should have stayed retired it seems.

  22. Winny Testaverde Says:

And this Peter Pan guy is a goof…but could be right here.

  23. Goatfarmer Says:

    No way.

  24. Ben Harvey Says:

Maybe he asks for a trade to a contender
