Considering all the detailed reports of Tom Brady and his wife moving toward a divorce — Today on NBC ran a three-minute feature yesterday — the Thursday release of Brady’s playful life-advice video at Buccaneers.com chose very interesting topics.
Joe has written many times that nearly everything Brady does is calculated, so this was no accident.
The segment is called Armchair QB and Brady sits alone in the middle of the Glazer Shed on a recliner and answers three fan questions.
The first question asks Brady, from someone named Rachel, if it’s wrong to continue a love interest because the guy she’s interested in spends too much time on social media so he may not be truly happy. Rachel asks Brady if she’s “overthinking it or should I steer clear?”
In the end, Brady advised Rachel to “ship him out.”
“…Any relationship, whether you’re pursuing a romantic relationship, whether you’re just pursuing a work relationship, I think that if they’re not getting it done because other things are in the way like their social media presence, you gotta ship’em out. It’s very important,” Brady said after joking that he has that problem with his wide receivers.
Man, Joe was surprised that Brady chose to take on a relationship question right out of the gate and then advised someone to dump their partner because “other things are in the way.”
That is absolutely no coincidence.
The next question was from someone named Nick who asked Brady for wardrobe advice to a wedding that’s calling for “semi-casual” attire. Brady told the guy to dress nicely so he doesn’t look feel an idiot when he looks back at the pictures years later and think he dressed ridiculously.
“Go looking good, man. You might meet the woman of your dreams there,” Brady said. “She’s not going to want some shlub in some, you know, golf polo in like khaki shorts.”
Joe’s not sure what message Brady was trying to send, but there certainly was a theme dripping with irony.
From a football perspective, Joe hopes Brady making this video is a sign that he’s at peace with the changes in his personal life and is laser focused on the Buccaneers.

@Redeemer. Yoko Ono is also the reason behind the Dolphins tampering mess. She wanted out of Tampa. I’m convinced she put the pressure on Tom to retire. He didn’t want to leave Tampa. Why would he want to learn a new system with inferior plans. That’s why currently G is in Miami right now. She’s the one leaking out all the stuff about the relationship. She’s been spiteful by doing during the season. They may not even get a divorce. I’ve been reading about them getting a divorce for years and never happened. As far as I’m concerned it’s between him and his wife. All the speculation out there and all the so-called news organizations and sports websites that are suddenly nothing but gossip rags over this are pathetic.

If you ever watch the Manning cast during Monday night, you see Peyton Manning is fantastic at analysis and ripping on people. Eli is very average. It would be awesome to have Tom Brady and Peyton Manning do that show together

@Geno711. I’m not buying the divorce rumors. I’ve read about them possibly getting a divorce years ago, and it never happened. I don’t buy that there are any marital issues. The “sources” sound dubious.

@Redeemer Well, Belichick did try to run off Bernie Kosar. Thats why the media and fans turned on him. I didn’t like BA’s style. He would throw players under the bus. He would make some comment about the game, and then he would sometimes have to walk back what he said because he looked at the film. Why not make your statements after you watch the film like most coaches. That’s why coaches always say they need to watch the film first before commenting.
