An All-Phases Loss, 20-18, To The Lowly Steelers

October 16th, 2022

Head coach Todd Bowles

Todd Bowles has a problem. It feels like a virus has spread throughout his Buccaneers.

Joe is calling it complacency.

A guy Joe knows was up close and personal seated behind the Bucs’ bench today and sent Joe details of Tom Brady’s freakout on the offensive line immediately following the opening series. Brady was barking, “You Gotta Wake Up!!”

Unfortunately, the Bucs defense couldn’t hear Brady, as they were on the field allowing an 11-play touchdown drive.

Nothing much improved from there, though Brady’s later freakout on the offensive line was caught on TV and was more impressive.

Minus the guys who kick the football, every component of the Bucs played subpar football today in what may have been the biggest upset of the 2022 NFL season.

Devin White knocked out Steelers starting QB Kenny Pickett and it still didn’t matter in the end. Mitch Trubisky had little trouble with the Bucs defense.

The coverage units were miserable today, as was the Bucs’ offensive line and the defense gave up too many big plays against a truly second-rate Steelers offense.

And don’t get Joe started on the Steelers’ defense, which had practice squad guys in its heavily-depleted secondary.

Hey, at least the kicking is great!

Tom Brady wasn’t good, finishing 25-of-40 for 243 yards and without a touchdown. Russell Gage dropped one in his hands in the end zone.

The Bucs’ running game? It had a nice first quarter and then went into the toilet. Even Brady’s quarterback sneak failed.

Pittsburgh going 7-of-15 on third down is an embarrassment of epic proportions.

Our beloved Bucs are 3-3, tied with the Falcons atop the NFC South.

Joe misses Bucco Bruce Arians.

Bucs got the next 3 games against cupcake
opponents to get into tip top shape before
having to face the Ravens and Rams, which will
    be very very difficult games.
Just need to take care of business the next 3
weeks, and let Brady get into a rhythm and we’ll
    be fine.

    Kenny Pickett the new GOAT

    Out played and out coached.

  10. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

Game. Set. Match. Bucs totally didn’t deserve to win. And thank you very little to the idiotic penalty on the first drive by the most overrated LB in the NFL, Devin “look at me, I’m great” White.

  11. Really!! Says:

    What a pathetic showing.

  12. D-Rome Says:

I don’t want to hear anything about how style points don’t matter. We saw last week this team’s struggles but most didn’t want to acknowledge it because it’s a win. I also don’t want to hear that Brady’s struggle has nothing to do about his personal life

  13. ModHairKen Says:

    I’ve seen enough

  14. HC Grover Says:

if we fire the whole coaching staff right now we may have a chance to get to the playoffs. otherwise bowles and the jets

  15. Jerry R Jones Says:

Everyone looked horrible! Heads better F’ing roll!!

  16. Bucamania Says:

  17. SKBucsFan Says:

Time to fire the staff. They have played every game unprepared. Yes. The players need to execute. But the bad play calling combined with infleffective defense means a change is needed.

  18. Jack Sparrow Says:

Bucs coaches are so inept and incompetent !!!! but at least we have diversity !!!

  19. Jeagan1999 Says:

Can’t wait to see how @Joe would sugarcoat these articles about a hopeless team that was suppose to blow the Steelers out !!! Lmao

  23. unbelievable Says:

    No leaders on defense.

And the supposed “leader” on offense is too busy taking vacations.

Turns out Ira was right. Time for the rebuild to start. Welcome back to irrelevance, Bucs fans. This team is dunzo.

It was fun while it lasted.

  24. BUCkleup Says:

    Fire everyone now.

    We are a joke.

If you want to actually watch football, tune in to the chiefs vs bills.

    We suck.

  25. Tyler904 Says:

    Lack of accountability this season

  26. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Outcoached and outplayed by a much lesser team

  27. Ed Kerber Says:

fire Special Teams coaching. Trade Vea. Get some CBs.

  28. WalkdaPlank Says:

What is Mike Evans even there for if you aren’t going to throw to him in the red zone?

    Leftwich lost in the sauce

  29. MarkV Says:

An absolute embarrassment of a loss. Coaches need to be held accountable…no offense with that talent should be this horrible

  30. IrishTony Says:

Wow talking about a give me game. Jesus. Not sure this Bowles is capable of coaching both sides of the ball. I’m starting to really dislike Leftwich and Brady looks disinterested Concerned about this team right now.

  31. Vegasbuccaneer Says:

Best quarterback in the league my ass best defense in the league my ass no more excuses and get rid of Leftwich. They were decimated on defense you guys suck

  32. Timbo Slice Says:

I’m so tired of watching this team

  33. Miller5252 Says:

F’n JOKE!!! This Bowles ball playing D and running with no RISK IT ISNT WORKING!!!! All these weapons and we don’t use it. 30 ppg last year and all we can get against a crappy team is 1 dang TD. F’n JOKE!!

  34. beano Says:

Trask would be 3-3 and developing for the future. Instead we’re hanging on to the past, wasting a season.

  35. Yucs2Bucs Says:

Just admit it Joe this team sucks

  36. orlbucfan Says:

Wowie, thank you fossil. You gave this one to the Steelers. We’ll be lucky if we go to 9-8 this season.

  37. Marc Says:

This was Failure with a Capital F. They better take a good look at themselves and decide if they want to win again – play calling, execution, coverage – awful!

  38. Buc55 Says:

    Awful offense… Lame defense..

  39. HC Grover Says:

does anyone understand the bowles prevent game plans yet…i have been trying to tell ta. so now.

  40. Jerseybuc Says:

Bowles is garbage. I have it 6 weeks thinking maybe a turn around was coming nope. Head coach is a major problem

  41. BucThis Says:

This team just flat out sucks. I know its still early in the season but Bowles and Leftwich are horrible. It was a nice 2 years now for another 15 year rebuild

  42. Dg Says:

FIRE LEFTWICH. He is an embarrassment as OC. Bring Arians in an interim OC. Brady show up to practice.

  43. Damar Jones Says:

My only question is what are we doing. Why try so hard to run the ball against that team. See Bills last week.

  44. Adam C Wade Says:

Todd Bowles folded his arms though

  45. dmatt Says:

Leftwich n Gage is garbage. Awful play calling n ridiculous we’re paying a receiver big money who can’t catch a simple pass. Defense is also garbage. Can’t stop offense on multiple 3 n 15 or more then u deserve to lose.

  46. Leopold Stotch Says:

What the heck is going on?!?! I’m gonna have to watch the condensed version, but I caught glimpses of this. This is not good at all

  47. Jack Sparrow Says:

3rd and very very long and you leave 4 dline …. only an incomoetent coach does that

  48. BucfaninMi Says:

    What could go wrong????

  49. BUC CHEEKS Says:

Way to ruin another Sunday! Disgusting.

  50. Bucs Believer Says:

Brady threw 1 TD pass Joe. Get it right.

  51. Cobraboy Says:

    No heart.

    No leadership

Maybe the “GOAT” needs another vacation or wedding to attend. He certainly doesn’t care.

    .500 is overachieving.

  52. BucsFan81 Says:

We won’t win the division and miss the playoffs. This team is horrible. I hate Bowles as the coach this guy is not head coach material. Look at all the interviews he went on and no one hired him. This team needs to be completely over hauled next year. New coaching staff and players.

  53. T REX Says:

    Bowels is hot garbage

    Leftwich is hot garbage

    Licht is ultimate loser.

None would have jobs without Brady

  54. Tackleblockwin Says:

Coaching is terrible. Brady is not fully dedicated anymore. Defense is celebrating on 1st and 2nd down like they won a SB. Does this team not realize they are being laughed at by the rest of the league? So sad.

  55. IrishTony Says:

Tomlin was coaching for his life and his players played their collective ass off. Probably would have given any team a hard time.

  56. Roc Says:

    Let’s see

Umm Put a SUPERBOWL Winning Coach in the office

Replaced Him with a Losing HC

    And Expect to WIN ????

  57. CrackWise Says:

  58. Defense Rules Says:

It’s not just one thing; it’s everything. Coaches aren’t coaching very well, players aren’t executing. Even Tom Brady 2022 looks a lot less ‘with it’ than he was in 2020 & 2021. Injuries I’m sure are having an effect, but that’s just one of many factors. This team is 8-8 at best. Middle of the pack.

  59. Anonymous Says:

Arians leaving is bigger than ppl thought, and Brady’s breaks and stuff is a situation

  60. Iamabuc Says:

I wonder what’s gonna be Devin White excuse this time…..he probably is going to blame the pigeons flying around the filed…smdh

  61. Marc Coppola Says:

    Tom Brady era is OVER

  62. BucsBro Says:

Yep. Complacent team that thinks it can show up and win.

Things are fixable, but there is a lot to fix.

Steelers brought a lot of pressure, and they overwhelmed our inexperienced line and rattled Brady early.

We had 4 drives of 10+ plays today. That’s pretty good. But only one of those drives resulted in a touchdown.

The offense has more problems than the defense, but the defense comes up small when needed. The offense has a bunch of issues to fix, including the play calling, but hopefully some of that got started on being fixed today.

Credit to Pittsburgh. They were embarrassed last week and played hard today. Still, this should have been a solid win for us.

  63. Booda Says:

TJ Watt out, 3 corners and safety out, picket out of 1/2 game ?
This seems like the old bucs able to lose this game !
Would be nice if Tom attended the entire walkthrough, maybe at 45 he shouldn’t be at a wedding in NY, esp. when it’s an 81 yo, lol!
What’s with the one hopper throws , seem more and more frequent , but perhaps they are required once he has held the ball for 2.4 seconds and feels it’s time to throw.

  64. Tampabaybucfan Says:

We may limp to a division title by default……

  65. K2 Says:

Looks like the Bucs are positioning for the draft!!! Bucs have lost 3 of their last 4 games and the Falcons look like a better team.

  66. Winny Testaverde Says:

We welcome beano…named after a pill taken to stop blowing arse…fitting. Joe’s we’re guaranteeing victory and Irv feels vindicated for calling last week’s win unfair. Good times…keep on sharting, beano!

  67. Paratrooper Buc Says:

The coaches cannot bring this talented team together and win. Totally agree it’s losing at all phases. Worst offenders is the offense. Yeah O line has issues but coaching is bad. Need a massive change. Even Gronk alone isn’t enough of a change.

  68. Aaron Says:

The Bucs just ran again on 1st down

  69. Merryplankster777 Says:

Yikes! Last week was neat impossible to watch… Then the fools celebrating that was worse. Glad I was no inside for this latest debacle. Last year was the best shot, will only get tougher from here with regression and lack of D

  70. Kody Says:

Go tell Giselle and Gronk they were right and you were wrong. No shame in that. You had an awesome career. Go out with dignity before the Bucs spiral down the drain even more.

  71. beano Says:

Other teams are dumping their overpaid fossil prima donna quarterbacks for young buck backups and winning. Time for the Bucs to move forward.

  72. BUCkleup Says:

    Joke of a squad.

Maybe we just need Gronk my ass. Suh? Only if he brings vea from two years ago.

We need an entire football team.

  73. BigMacAttack Says:

Why didn’t we blitz 3’rd and 16 or the next 3’rd down. Bowles gave it away and Leftwich is terrible. We need BA back. I can take a loss but not garbage play. Too conservative on offense.

  74. Bangkok Buc Says:

That is the most disgusting game the Yucs have played since Brady came to town. Make them take the public bus back to Tampa. Coaches can F’in walk

  75. ClwJB Says:

They physically dominated us, they beat us up and showed just how bad the new interior line is – that sneak was disgusting

We are in big trouble this year if we don’t wake up quick and it doesn’t look good at all

Can we beat the Panthers? They have a good D and bad QB’s but that doesn’t matter against us

  76. Adrnagy Says:

Brady played bad. But he had a excuse—- party in new york.
But bowles defense doesnt have a excuse.

  77. BUCkleup Says:

    Bucs are dead

  78. Ash Says:

It seems like it’s everything from the coaches to the players they look like bowles personality monotone with no passion. I have been trying to stay positive with this team but this might just be a team that isn’t good.

  79. Boltsfan17 Says:

A completely broken team without any direction. Bowles was a huuuge mistake but what did you expect from the Glazers who will do anything to show their woke bonafides. Licht can’t escape this either, his greasy fingerprints are all over this mess.

  80. Steven007 Says:

Doosh, you could have also quoted Joe mentioning the very same thing.

  81. BUCkleup Says:

  82. NYbucsfan Says:

Brady did not look good at all. Our coaches suck and will both be fired within one year.

  83. Cobraboy Says:

6 games in, and we know what this team is.

    Get used to it.

11 more Games of mediocre underachievement and excuses coming.

It’s been a fun two-season ride, but that is history.

  84. Adam C Wade Says:

I’m done with these clowns. They don’t care.. neither should the fans. I’ll do something else.

  85. TheBucsAnthem Says:

This team will not make the playoffs…..if this garbage continues

  86. BigMacAttack Says:

I was behind our coaches until today. They gave this game away. Even after terrible play they only needed a stop at the end.

  87. Kentucky Buc Says:

Play calling is the worst I’ve seen. This conservative crap isn’t going on without Bowles approval at the least if not at his demand. The run for 0-2 yards is destroying this offense. Drive killers.

  88. unbelievable Says:

At least Green Bay also lost? LOL

Too bad they own the tie breaker…

  89. Davenport Says:

Bruce held people accountable. He was aggressive & vocal and so was the team’s effort. Bowles is invisible and so is the team’s effort. It’s not a coincidence.

  90. Roc Says:

    Wait I maybe be wrong

Bowles only has the GOAT at QB

    Two future HF WR

But the OLine is all new and lost our Center

It’s not the coach BUTTT then again Pitt lost a Rookie QB and used Mitch with 2 corners off the practice squad and BEAT THE BUCS

  91. Bucfan Says:

FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE BOWLES & LEFTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  92. Defense Rules Says:

Cobraboy … You hit it with ‘no leadership’. That’s on Licht IMO. Got rid of 2 great leaders in JPP & Sun, and replaced them with , oh ya, no one. Jensen was the leader of the OnLine, and when he went down Licht should’ve been scouring the bushes for a veteran to add some leadership. Right now they’re rudderless.

  93. Jack Sparrow Says:

I would love to see a breaking news that Bowles and Leftwich have been fired

  94. D Says:

This team is absolute trash! Fire all the coaches and rebuild!!

  95. bucs4life Says:

Trubisky pitched a 142.4 rating in 9/12 passes and a touchdown, with multiple third and long conversions. Whoever opens their mouths to talk about Brady is spinning a narrative to sugarcoat two Arians proteges posing as NFL coaches.

  96. Bucamania Says:

TKras going off!!!! As he should. What the hell is going on with this team?!

  97. Francisco Guzman Says:

Bowles is trash and has always been trash as head coach.

  98. Vance Says:

Leftwich is trash. What an awesome Offensive scheme, for a team down 80%
Of there DB starters! FREAKING 80%! So fu@&%#! Predictable!

    On that note…..

VEGAS made a ton of money on this game.

  99. BucU Says:

Embarrassing. An EPIC failure. This team has no fire. They’re NOT fun to watch. 6 games in and we look as lost as ever. Bowles is gonna have some explaining to do. There’s not much I like in the 2022 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

  100. beano Says:

Brady had no zip on that 2 point throw. Easily defended.

  101. Aceofaerospace Says:

    Time to panic. Pathetic.

  102. BigMacAttack Says:

Tom Brady needs to get his head in the game. It’s elsewhere and distractions are piling up. Can’t deny it anymore. Either he’s our QB or he needs to go.

  103. Francisco Guzman Says:

All the Bucs needed to do was stop two 3rd downs and they couldn’t do that. Guaranteed brady goes down the field and they win the game.

  104. DBS Says:

Suh is NOT going to solve the problems with this team. They are finished. No Super Bowl or play Offs. Atlanta and the Saints are playing better.

  105. Defense Rules Says:

Kentucky Buc … I agree 100%. Play-calling was the worst I’ve seen all year. And it’s been pretty bad up to this point.

  106. Jack Sparrow Says:

This is what happens if your only qualification is the color of your skin. Pathetic

  107. Lovie Bowles Says:

Lovie Smith football is back! Dumb penalties, lazy blocking, conservative play calling on both sides of the ball. Welcome to the suck.

  108. Mike Johnson Says:

Like I said 2 weeks ago, I don’t know what we are. But we are not a championship team. And I don’t put it all on the coaches either. Sure, they share in some of it. But not all of it. I predicted we would go 9-7 at the beginning of the yr. Looks like we are on track.

  109. Cobraboy Says:

    I agree with Kody.

The Brady Era is over. HE doesn’t care, so why should w?. He needs to go save his marriage and kids.

Maybe it’s time to see what Trask brings to the table.

  110. D-Rok Says:

My coverage was blacked-out here in NC and I didn’t feel like going to a bar. Good thing I didn’t, I would’ve been throwing pints.

I thought for sure this was a win, easily. By how many points, I didn’t even want to guess, but I thought we’d somehow win. Too much talent we have. But THIS? C’mon, man…sure sounds like a pathetic effort today.

  111. HC Grover Says:

  112. Dooley Says:

    Defense rules

Plays design doesn’t matter when you can’t execute basics like a 3rd & 1 conversion. If a team can’t execute a dive with any consistency, then what makes you think they’d be able to have success anything more nuanced than that? Wow

  113. AbucAway Says:

Changes have to be made. Simple as that.

  114. mark2001 Says:

Before we all find better things to do on Sunday, let me make a few points….

    1. It appears that Brady is dealing with a world full of problems in his personal life, and they have spilled into his game. He still has skills, but his heart doesn’t seem to be in it as it was.

    2. Todd Bowles and his coaching staff have the tools to be competitive but can’t get the proverbial train running in the same direction at the same time. He doesn’t appear to be HC material.

    3. Even if this team somehow finds its way into the playoffs, it will be at best a long shot team. And maybe we should be a seller before the trade deadline.

Good luck to you all. And thank goodness the play of the Bucs is right now about the worst thing going on in my world…Hopefully yours too.

  115. James Says:

Im fed up with BL, Bowles idk yet

I’m sick of seeing Mike evans a non factor with 4 targets VS Godwin 12!!!

Other teams force feed there too targets with 10-15 a game
Scheme him open I don’t want to here he’s being double covered.
The others are not getting it done. Mike needs the fing ball more !

  116. Francisco Guzman Says:

Bowles always has the same dumb look on the sidelines. He’s too much of a players coach.

  117. Dg Says:

  118. Iamabuc Says:

People usually say the teams take on the personality of the coach…we are really missing Arians (and his red pen… 🤣); because Bowles ain’t it..🤦‍♂️

  119. Hodad Says:

    We blow.

  120. MarkR Says:

318 yards of total offense. Ugh! Todd Bowles could be the worst coach in the NFL.
Who thought hiring a coach with a .375-win percentage with the Jets was a good idea.

  121. desanova Says:

Running up the middle does not work.

  122. NaplesBucFan Says:

It’s a good thing we got lucky and Pittsburgh was injured and Brady was gonna have a field day and Evan’s was gonna have a break out game and Godwin was gonna get going and and and and and and…
Oh yeah we have one of the WORST offensive lines in football…I guess we can’t overcome the losses at o-line and OH YEAH our defense is PATHETIC

  123. unbelievable Says:

    @DAVENPORT – you nailed it.

The other problem is that Leftwich’s pathetic coordinating has now finally been exposed, now that our o-line only has 2 pro-bowl / all-pros, instead of having 4…

He needs to change things to play to our current roster’s strengths, and to scheme guys open, but he doesn’t know how…

Does the same exact chit no matter who we;re playing or what the situation is.

  124. Kody Says:

    It’s one thing to lose.

It’s another thing to play pathetically to a deeply weakened team and get throughly embarrassed by them, even after they lose their starting QB.

BUCS are just not a good team. They aren’t strong anywhere. And they never play with fire and passion. If you’re a bad team, at least play with fire and passion.

  125. Chris from Gainesville Says:

Wonder how the o line felt being yelled at by Brady after him missing Saturday for a wedding. I know he was pressured. Hainsey doesn’t look like he’s going to work. Brady looked hungover.

  126. SufferingSince76 Says:

And Tom gave up his marriage for this?

  127. Tackleblockwin Says:

    That was poo poo.

  128. Anonymous Says:

One word describes the 2022 BUCS. Joke.

  129. Buc king Says:

Wtf are we not throwing to Mike evaEvan???
Brady play style or play call is pure trash…
    Oline and dline are trash…
Davis and white and Shaq and vea all played like super trash…
Special teams is trash except the kicker….
Decimated secondary for the steelers and we can’t throw the ball…
We are the definition of ineptitude…
    Coaches truly suck…
Play call is horrible on both sides…
This is a terribly coached team..
I miss Bruce Arions forcing people to do their jobs and be accountable..
Brady arm is looking done or scared I honestly can’t figure it out.

$hit show on every level..we just lost to a horrible I say horrible team with more injuries than any other team…
    This was an embarrassing day.

I think demotion for Todd Bowles should be the move…make people see jobs are up for losing …
Shouldn’t of loss to Greenbay Shouldn’t of loss to the steelers…
Ugly football ball on all involved..
    Hard to watch…
I honestly could call a better game while drunk being distracted by strippers..
Bryan Leftwich sucks I been saying it and I’ll continue saying it..he’s pure trash play caller…ba please come back and save this season.
    The sky is falling

  130. Francisco Guzman Says:

Bowles has never been head coaching material. Why did they even hire him is beyond me. Look at what the raiders are doing with Mcdaniels. Mcdaniels is not a head coach. There’s certain guys that are not fit to be a head coach.

  131. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

No matter how bad a team is when they play is don’t call them LOWLY! Start off with the lowly Bucs

  132. beano Says:

We’re not winning this season. Release Brady, play Trask. He outperformed both Goobert and Brady in the last preseason game (playing with truck drivers) and deserves it. If he were black he would have played already.

  133. Tbbucs3 Says:

    Embarrassing loss

  134. Yucs2Bucs Says:

We have the worst owners in the league and because the NFL is fixed they won the superbowl and if they had any balls they would do whatever it takes to SIGN SEAN PAYTON

  135. Beeej Says:

How many 3 and outs started with a run up the middle for nothing?

  136. D-Rome Says:

Agreed on all points Cobraboy. Folks, let’s raise one last glass to the 2020 Buccaneers. The ride is over. Brady’s personal off field issues seems to have caught up with him and the team.

  137. Roc Says:

    FIRE SALE!!!!!!!!

  138. beano Says:

We’re not winning this season. Release Brady, play Trask. He outperformed both Goobert and Brady in the last preseason game (playing with truck drivers) and deserves it. If he had more melanin he would have played already.

  139. Cobraboy Says:

@DR: no heart is as bad as no leadership.

  140. Bucfan Says:

Wonder if the Bucs coaching staff ever watches game tapes? Surely they would see their play calling sucks!!!!!

Mike needs the fing ball more !!!!!!!

  142. Christos Says:

I want to say Gongratulations to the players and the coaches. You must do a lot to loose to these Steelers (with so many good players out) and oh boy with great effort they were able to get that loss. What an effort.
From not convert around 5 plays that you need a yard (2nd 1, 3rd and 1)
To give up quite a few 3rd and 10+ with 2 in the final drive to Trubisky
To not get a timeout when you see Vita Vea of all people to try and run off the field when Tomlin in a similar situation called a timeout to prevent 12 on defense.
Unbelievable. You loose to these Steelers think about it.
Dont want to hear again about ugly wins. This team is in the 6th game and the offense looks like they are in the 2nd training camp practice.
6th game and in 4 out of 6 the offense produce only 1 touchdown.

This team is no longer a deep threat. They also have become too predictable. Every 1st down is a run, and if I can see it you know other team defense can see it. Not what I expected from Todd Bowles.

  149. Bob in valrico Says:

Well deserved loss unfortunately. Pretty much one dimensional offense between Brady and Fuornette . When he went elsewhere the passes were not that great. terrible scheme for protection. backs rarely stayed in for protection . Evans had few targets. Godwin had some, but many were not well thrown. In spite of the
poor protection ,Brady did not have a game where his leadership was evident.

  150. Irishmist Says:

This is on Leftwich. You are facing a team with a decimated secondary, any coach with half a brain knows you press your advantage, go hurry up so the inexperienced defenders don’t know where to line up. Instead BL SLOWS THE GAME DOWN by running on almost every first down. He played right into Pittsbrgh’s hand. The only time we moved the ball was when Brady got in the hurry up and called the plays. Are we here to win games or feed a coach’s ego?

  151. Francisco Guzman Says:

As long as Bowles and BL are on the sidelines for this team they won’t go anywhere.

Top to bottom the Bucs are horrible..INCLUDING BRADY…. I saw a visually impaired wino who asked…why do the Bucs always run on first down ?? Why is Tom Brady taking camp off…jetting off to weddings and then blaming everyone else for poor play ?? The vaunted defense is as weak as a cup of 7.11 coffee…Mike Evans can’t get open, offensive line can’t block anyone…. Defensive can sort of stop on first and second down and then on 3rd down go with a 3 man front and get stomped…This team is on the decline and had better start preparing for the future

I said it when Bowles first came HC. He has no freak’n idea what he’s doing. Even as a defensive Co-ordinater. No fire at all. It’s like he doesn’t even want the job. The only person doing a worse job that him is Caramel Harris at the southern border. Even Tom Landrey got pissed and lost his cool sometimes. Not Todd! He’s like “Weekend at Bernies”

  164. DBS Says:

I hire people frequently, the interview is pretty much over when you find out that the candidate had previous experience at the job level you are offering, and they failed miserably. Thats a huge red flag that indicates you should probably keep looking. Its not rocket science. It was a stupid hire!

The Bowles Era looks like a return to the Lovie Era. Can’t do Spit

  168. PassingThru Says:

Bowles has turned the Bucs into his previous creation, the NY Jets. But he isn’t alone in that effort to return to mediocrity; Leftwich’s brainless play calls deserve an honorable mention.

I’m pretty certain that you can’t fire 1, let alone 2 coaches of color at the same time.
There would be fire in the streets.

  170. bucfan999 Says:

The playcalling totally sucks! In the last 2 seasons we at least had BA to overrule Leftwich’s lousy play calling but Bowles won’t do it. Every 1st down today was a run, 2nd down was a short pass, setting up a 3rd and short. No passes down the field with a Steeler secondary missing it’s top 3 corners & top safety. Today’s playcalling should have been heavy with down field passes but not with Leftwich calling the plays.
The season will be over unless they go back to the “No Risk it, No Biscuit” Arians offense. We have Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Spent 30 million on Russell Gage & brought in Julio Jones & we run on 1st down, short pass on 2nd down & a run or another short pass on 3rd down. It’s a totally predictable offense right now & it’s going to be a dog fight even to win the division if this doesn’t change & change soon.

  171. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Jack Sparrow you are an absolute idiot. That’s not the reason Bowles and Leftwhich got the jobs. Arians had a lot to do with it. What color is Arians??? Many coaches got their jobs because of their lack of color, bet you said nothing about that you cry baby

318 yards of total offense. Ugh! Todd Bowles could be the worst coach in the NFL.
Who thought hiring a coach with a .375-win percentage with the Jets was a good idea.

It’s the last “gift” that “Bucco Bruce Arians” have gave us after his deranged blitz call doomed our last season and the front office couldn’t pretend that he’s a genius or a hero… like some always try to lead us to believe… Always waging bets. Always playing predictable. That’s what we get by clinging to a backwards coaching tree that got carried to SB wins by Santonio Holmes and Brady, and got thrashed in every other attempt.

  173. Francisco Guzman Says:

People will blame brady but brady is not a miracle worker. Coaching staff is abysmal. I wanna see the film to see if the wideouts where getting open. A lot of dumb penalties by this team

  175. alton d green Says:

  179. Bucamania Says:

This team was obviously overrated. Then you add in bad coaching and you get what we see now. Garbage.

  180. Old School Bucs Says:

………..AND THE RATS JUMP SHIP! Whinning little girls!!!

  181. Sick&Tired Says:

We’re six games into the season. At this point there are no more excuses. The offensive line need player changes now. Sit Hansey and Godekkee they are not performing. Defense has no leadership or fire. Good defenses don’t let and struggling teams beat them. Play calling sucks. Brady should’ve stayed his ass here in Tampa to practice(screw another team owner’s wedding wtf you going for? We struggling offensively and you picking an owner who you no longer play for over trying to figure out and fix our issues.) my fellow Bucs fans, we aren’t going anywhere this year until they get their priorities straight.

  182. Sicklelovr Says:

Brady not committed. Ditches the team for Kraft’s “massage” party. Throwing his balls in the dirt. Defense inconsistent. Run up the middle every first down very consistent. No accountability on either side of the ball. Players play coaches coach but when neither does either its called a loss.

  183. T REX Says:

Vea is a tub of lard

  184. Jack Sparrow Says:

Bucs are wasting the talent of Brady, Evans and Godwin with an Inept and incompetent coaches.

  185. Mike S Says:

The offensive line is a problem and Leftwich’s play calling is frustratingly terrible.

The new interior lineman are getting their rear ends handed to them. They are getting no push up front and to make it worse – Leftwich kept dialing up plays on key 3rd downs they kept getting beat on. Here’s a clue – if you’re losing the battle in the trenches – don’t send in your jumbo and run off tackle to try to get a 3rd and 1.

Then with the game on the line on successive 3rd and longs the defense allowed conversions.

    Overall pretty inexcusable.

Bucs are in trouble and not even Tom Brady can save them. Bowles and Leftwich are terrible coaches. There is too much talent on this team for them to play this badly. They are not playing to their strengths – especially on offense. Who is drawing up offensive the game plan? Brady’s head is clearly somewhere else, too. This was an embarrassing loss.

Brady is going to retire after this year and Bowles will once again craft personnel based on who plays special teams. This is a bad bad bad bad coaching staff without BA. Bucs are going to give Bowles 3 years minimum and by the time they fire Bowles this team will be so bad it will take YEARS to rebuild.

Welcome to the new lean years Bucs fans. We’ve been here before. We know the drill.

  186. Elita Vita Says:

Huge team meeting. Monday AM. 8AM sharp!! NOT led by Bowles, Not led by Brady because those two also needs to sit and listen . The owners need to call this meeting. No more days off. Everybody works. Don’t even ask about time off. This team players/coaches don’t deserve special privileges. No one on this team does. Get it together Buccaneers, because you sure don’t have it together now.

  187. Browsing from DC Says:

Say what you will about Belichek but if he saw that kind of lackluster effort out of even ONE player, he’d pull his ass from the game, chew him out for all to see and make him BEG to get back in the game or ride the pine for a week or two. “Players’ Coaches” like Bowles might get some respect, but players never fear them enough to think their job is on the line. Arians would also chew a mutha out. Seems only Brady has the balls to get after the players. No fire. No intensity. Plenty of egos though. Bunch of millionaire pretenders right now. I need a nap after that mess.

  188. Bucamania Says:

This is just a bad football team all the way around. Can’t blame the hurricane for this one.

  189. The Daily Coroner Says:

Predictable, play calling leads to better defense then should’ve been!
    The Bucs are too predictable.
There are reasons Byron Leftwich is not a head coach.

  190. LakelandSteve Says:

Watch an entire season destroyed in one game. When your offensive line gets constantly punched in the mouth and doesn’t have enough pride to put up a fight. Your defense gives up 3 third and 15’s in the game two on the final drive to completely suck the life out of your season. The quarterback who put you out of your misery was the backup to a rookie making his second start. Is there not a man on this team with any pride whatsoever? This team has no fire and like it or not it’s all on the head coach.

  191. Buczilla Says:

Disgusting. It’s still early, but I’m going to start reading up on draft prospects. The only people that I have any faith in right now in our organization are Licht, Arians, and Brady.

  192. Roger Webster Says:

The bucs haven’t been right since Todd bowels became head coach
    Go figure

  193. Ed Says:

The Bucs have shown all season that they have taken on the persona of head coach Todd Bowles. They start every game off in a slow manner and that is on Todd. He isn’t getting the effort or execution of whatever his pathetic game plan is.

When your opponent is playing with a backup secondary you have to challenge them. This should have been a game where the offensive strategy would pressure the inexperienced secondary.

Instead of stretching the field they shortened up passing plays. They telegraph short yardage and keep using Fournette to try and get those short yards behind Haines and Goedke who miss assignments.

Steelers are a rebuild and it takes a terrible head coach to not know how to get the right plays and 3rd and one in red zone.

Bucs made a huge mistakes not replacing Arians with a coach that can motivate a veteran team. Way too nonchalant on the field.

  194. Sumosam Says:

The one thing a head coach has to do is get his team fired up and ready to play. I’m not seeing that from Bowles.

  195. Hunter's Crack Pipe Says:

    My observations:

    • On Pittsburgh’s 1st quarter touchdown, either Keanu Neal or Devin White totally blew their coverage. Maybe both of them. Horribly.

    • Playcalling was actually more diverse. Still too many runs up the middle, but the mix of plays was better. Execution was worse. A lot worse.

    • Brady was off. Through 2 quarters he was completing 50% of passes. They weren’t all covered. There were many weird throws. I hope the Lannisters aren’t having more weddings this year.

    • The offense got absolutely embarrassed by a scrubs-only secondary. I said that the play mix was better, but there is still no imagination to scheme receivers open. Running back routes and screens looked nice. Nothing out of the ordinary did I see for our receivers.

    • Neal22 was strong against the run.

    • Did we fire Armstrong yet? Our suckarse punt coverage is Baaa-ack. No lane discipline. Just a mob running downfield like a pack of looters trying to steal a football. Jamel Dean saved 4 points with his legs, and would have been the hero of the day if we had won. Punt coverage will get burned a couple times a year, but ours is getting burned a couple times a game, and the special (as in little bus) teams coordinator is still drinking bourbon with Arians. Why?

    • In the off chance that Leftfoot actually has any special plays that he’s designed to use in a must-have situation, the end of the first half would have been a nice time to use one of them. End of half is just like end of game. An opportunity with the football with time running out. But no–just same old boring plays run out of the same boring formations that we got stuffed on the whole first half.

    • That 3rd quarter “illegal man downfield” penalty that kept us from scoring a touchdown was obviously on Brady. He was the only man on the field who thought he called a pass play. Wirfs did nothing wrong. He was run blocking like every single other man in the offense besides the hungover party boy bootlegging all by himself looking stupid.

    • Other than the last Trubisky drive, our defense looked awesome. Why does Bowles’ defense fold at the end of games when they have the other team backed up in 3rd and long? It was like watching the Bowles Bowl all over again.

    • It’ll be a shame to ever send Dee Delaney back to the practice squad. He played his arse off with SMB out.

    • I give props to Bowles for one thing today–that overload bunch blitz in the 4th quarter was pretty sweet. Too bad the rest of the 4th quarter was a replay of the Rams spanking us.

    • Steelers had a total of 136 yards after the 3rd quarter. They were winning.

    • If it was a concussion that Brate got, he needs to retire. Sad to see it happen, but stacking concussions back-to-back is not good.

    • Another 3-yard rushing average day. WTH?

    • Otten had a big boy catch over the middle when Brady finally threw one that he could reach (barely).

    • We converted 4 of 14 on third down.

Is it just me, or did Brady look like Trubisky today? Maybe Bowles will give him Monday off so he can go back to Bawston and finish his party with Tyrion Lannister and his painted lady.

Go tell Giselle and Gronk they were right and you were wrong. No shame in that. You had an awesome career. Go out with dignity before the Bucs spiral down the drain even more.
I knew we would lose this one thanks to St. Fossil. I listened on radio and had the boob tube on, volume off. The first Bucs drive was a big hint. On two of the plays, 2nd and 3rd down, Cam Brate was WIDE OPEN down the middle. Did Fossil see it? Nope. I knew then my hunch was right. This guy really needs to retire. What’s it gonna take? Getting a broken neck cos of a legit sack?

Is BA still spose to go in the Ring? This is the legacy he leaves the fans, and he gets in the Ring?

There’s a reason you usually wait a few years before you bestow an honor like that. Nice Super Bowl, but when you follow it up with handing over a legacy of embarrassment and incompetence by your hand-picked-and-groomed cesspool of nepotism, you kind of cancel out a bunch of the good.

You brought a lot of good coaches here, Bruce, but you left them with no leadership. The stink is going to stick to all of them. Thanks.

I think we should delay the stupid ring ceremony. Give it to Wilder.

If you truly feel morally obligated to attend a function in the middle of a work week, there is a professional way to handle it. You make your appearance, greet the hosts, then you turn around and travel straight to the airport for your return flight.

You don’t hang around all night, get sh** faced at the reception, and miss work hung over the next day. At what point will the team stop taking Brady seriously? He obviously has a lot of credibility points saved up to go with his Staff of Youth, but sheesh. WTH

BA hand picked and endorsed Bowles/Lefty, left the org dependent on a 45 yr old savior, and he didn’t bld thru draft/development… nope, he mortgaged our future, then bailed

Brady has been a team-wide distraction since he retired and is an entitled finger pointer who continues to prove that he is all about Tommy and could care less about his team. He has been outplayed by every opposing QB this yr and that includes TRUBISKY!!

  206. firethecannons Says:

Joe thought we had this game in the bag. So many assume the Bucs are in the playoffs. Using the words of Tom Brady “wake up” we have to win the game first before we count it as a win

  207. Scooter Says:

Teams always kicking field goals don’t make the playoffs. Offensively Bucs have less talent than the past 2 years. Hainsey and Godecke are downgrades from Marpet and Jensen.Antonio Brown was the Buc’s most dangerous receiver and he’s gone. Gronk at 6’7″ was a great red Zone target, had a 10 year chemistry with Brady, was a nice safety valve receiver, and a good run blocker and pass blocker. Gone.

  208. Gman Says:

They can take out that portable seating in the south endzone in the off season. Anyone that has the money to throw away on this garbage, give it to St. Judes or some other worthwhile charity. This team will be bad for awhile.

How many times this year (and last) do the Bucs have a let’s say 3rd and 7 and they throw the ball 3 yards? Or 3rd and 12 and throw the ball 7 yards. Who is calling the plays? Whoever it is has a loser mentality.

  210. garro Says:

No accountability and complete lack of leadership from Bowles on down to the team captains. Yes that includes you Tom. Krafts wedding in the middle of a season Bad Look dude. Thats piss poor leadership as well.
