Scotty Miller Agrees With Bruce Arians

September 1st, 2022

Strong take.

Joe is still hung up on how former Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians put unreal expectations on his favorite partner in crime, new head coach Todd Bowles, during a visit to BSPN this week.

Arians spoke to screamin’ Stephen A. Smith, Arians said in no uncertain terms the Bucs have a better roster now than when Arians guided them to a Super Bowl win.

Bowles didn’t fully embrace that statement, it seemed.

Scotty Miller? He’s all over it.

Yesterday Miller was asked if the Bucs have the most talented team since he was drafted in 2019.

“Yeah, I think so,” Miller said. “From top to bottom – defense, offense, special teams – we’ve got a lot of really good players. I think we’re all just excited to see what we can do this year.”

Here is the thing: When coaches and players say they have a better team than their recent Super Bowl champion, you just put a bulls-eye on your back. Fans hearing that will expect nothing less than a Super Bowl win or the season will be considered a failure.

And of course, Joe is confident the slimy Saints will remember these boastful admissions.

Everybody thinks they can win a championship on September 1.

I’m just hoping for 10 wins by January 1.

    Todd.

Hey Joe no disrespect but what f’n more pressure can bucco Bruce Arians put on Tood Bowles that The G.O.A.T hasn’t already placed on him. I mean his first training camp on the job and he’s already faced with more damaging injuries along the line and a leave of absence by yours truly. Don’t get me wrong I understand your POV but what more pressure does he have than the memories of Cooper Kupp running free in the playoffs.

  3. SB~LV Says:

    # 10 is a nervous man
Pat McAfee was blabbing about Julian Edelman feeling good after a year of healing and possibly playing with the Bucs
A new trend in the NFL and that is the Play Off Specialists

  4. Jmarkbuc Says:

If your expectations aren’t winning the SB, there too low.

You’d think Joe would know that considering this team’s history.

    This ain’t the lost decade.

  5. Goatfarmer Says:

Cooper Kupp. I don’t know, we’ll have to look at the film.

  6. Tampabaybucfan Says:

What do you expect player to say……”nope, we’re a shadow of our former team, not worth a Sh**……..bunch of losers, busts……

  7. Infomeplease Says:

Everyone from the owners to the coaches, players, and trainers needs to feel the pressure AND PRODUCE!!! That’s why they get the big buck$!!!

This is a Team destined for greatness! Get healthy, play like there is no tomorrow!! Make the play!! Win!! LFG!!!!!!!

  8. Mike Says:

There’s no doubt this team is deeper and more talented overall than in the past few years. The question is not with talent for this team. It’s merely playing to their level of ability and staying healthy. That is all.

  9. Steven007 Says:

I of course enjoy the content here, but as I stated previously this is a nothing burger that will be forgotten by week two. However saying we have a bullseye on our back is a bit hyperbolic. The only team that should have a bullseye on their back is the Rams. No teams will consider us having a bullseye on our back because their former coach said we had a roster better than a team that won the super bowl two years ago. Come on now.

  10. D-Rok Says:

Oh, trust me, the Bucs have a HUGE bullseye this year, and every year that they have Brady.

Everyone wants to beat Brady fair and square – it’s bragging rights. Many players have made these types of comments, especially the last 10 years.

I’m not sure the talent is better overall than 2020, but it’s definitely a team with talent everywhere. With all the new players this year, how will this team define itself? How quickly will they gel/bond and get that “eye of the tiger?”

We shall see what kind of team this is by about week 5. I’m excited.

Saints are no threat. They need an NFL caliber QB first.

    GO BUCS!!!!!!

  13. Eddie Marz Says:

Bucs are a great team, but I wouldn’t rule out The Saints until we can beat them. As for Jameis Winston, give him a break. Come to Tampa fresh out of college. No way he could turn this franchise around. Brady was a 20 year veteran. Jameis is a good QB and he has an axe to grind with Tampa, not taking The Saints lightly at all. GOBUCS!

  14. Aaron Says:

Lol they all say that but it really does sound good when they do say it lol

  15. SB~LV Says:

Find the official Buc channel on YouTube and check out what Nacho said yesterday about the most impressive from a year ago
It’s only a minute or so video

  17. GOB Says:

Whatever happened to, “I like our roster, but we need to go prove it” confidence is great, but these comments are boarder line arrogant. It almost sounds like they’re trying to convince themselves. The idea that this is a better roster than the Superbowl team is foolishness. They haven’t even played a damn game yet. The only way it becomes true, is if they win it all.

  18. SB~LV Says:

GOB .. I don’t even read those absurd articles
Every team has them and every sports media platform has them

  19. Goatfarmer Says:

Save the anointing oil. Let’s see the O-Line block someone and the defense tackle without 4 whiffs per play first.

  21. VATom Says:

Whatever. my old lady says I am the sexiest man on the earth. Spoiler alert I am not. But she ain’t gonna put that out to the press anymore than Bruce or Scotty are gonna say that without AB and Gronk, healthy JPP and Suh that the Bucs aren’t talented. Bullseye…bullsh*t. You either believe in your team or you dont. But you sure anrent gonna tell the press…uh…I think our guys arent top notch LOL.

  22. Pickgrin Says:

The 2020 Super Bowl team was nothing special for the first 3/4 of the season….

Defense was very suspect in a # of games. The offense struggled at times as did Brady. The team was 7-5 heading into early December and few would have considered the Bucs a Super Bowl caliber team at that point…. (although Aikman did call it at the end of the failed comeback vs the Chiefs).

Then the Bucs got hot – Brady got hot – the pass rush ramped up – the team stayed generally healthy, got Vea back for the last 2 games and the Bucs ran the table – rode that winning streak all the way to victory in Super Bowl LV.

    How sweet it was!

On paper – the 2022 team is absolutely ‘more talented’ than the 2020 team was. I still think Gronk will be back at some point this year and that would put an exclamation point on the subject.

Just like last year though, “most talented” doesn’t mean you are Super Bowl bound…. Injuries can play a big part in that (and did for the 2021 Bucs) – referees can play a part in that – a football is shaped funny and bounces weirdly sometimes…. That’s why they play the games….

    LFG!!!

Talented Mr. Belize it or knot still needs an O line.

  26. JeffreyLane77 Says:

Hey do you think this team is more talented than last year? What are they supposed to say? No we may not even make the playoffs this year? Don’t even bother watching us the front office blew it. Lol

  27. Jack dos Santos Says:

I dont understand why BA like to put a bullseye on their back. I remember the press conference last year where BA said nobody could run on the Bucs. Then they got demolished on run defense the very next game. Bellicheat would never say the crap this guy says. He would say “There were a lot of great proven players on that SB team i.e. Suh, JPP, Gronk, and yes Brown. This team doesnt have that talant.” Shut up BA!!!

  29. Ted Ohashi Says:

Bruce Arians is not two faced but he has two faces. This message comes from the “other” face. By saying the Bucs have a better team, he is covering his ass. If the Bucs win without him, of course they did. They had a better team. But if the Bucs lose, it means he was a better coach because “he” won with a lesser team. Bowles doesn’t need Arians putting that kind of pressure on him. When you kick someone upstairs, put them in a soundproof room.

  30. Brazen Zebra Says:

Ehh, the slimy Saints are gonna get slimy footballs up their b-holes this season courtesy TB12 and Julio.
