NFL To Bucco Bruce Arians: Behave

September 21st, 2022

Gets a nastygram from NFL.

So the suits led by NFL warden Roger Goodell have spoken. And it appears former Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians will heed their warnings.

The NFL told Arians to behave on the sidelines, or else!

That’s the word from the creator, curator and overall guru of Pro Football Talk, the great Mike Florio. Per an NFL source, Florio was told Arians received a letter from the NFL ordering him to mind his P’s & Q’s if he chooses to stalk the sidelines during Bucs games.

If Arians doesn’t behave, per Florio, the NFL may fine Arians, or worse, ban him from the field.

Per a league source with knowledge of the situation, the NFL sent a warning letter to Arians and the Buccaneers in the aftermath of Sunday’s incident.

Arians was properly in the bench area generally, but he was clearly in the white stripe reserved for officials, players, and coaches during the altercation. He also was clearly involved in the verbal aspect of the kerfuffle.

The specifics of the warning aren’t known at this point. Presumably, the Buccaneers face potential penalties during the game, and Arians faces potential discipline in the form of a fine or possibly even a banishment from the bench area. Regardless, it likely won’t get to that.

How and why mouthy Marshon Lattimore gets off scot-free in this hassle is beyond Joe. Lattimore is the guy who sparked the melee by dogging the Bucs bench, which included barking at Arians.

Joe thought that Lattimore’s act alone was worthy of getting flagged.

Joe remembers watching a game last year where Bears defensive end Cassius Marsh tackled Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and got flagged after the play for taunting when he mean-mugged the Steelers bench.

Marsh didn’t walk right to the Steelers’ bench and begin woofing as Lattimore did. Yet nothing happened to Lattimore until after he and Mike Evans threw down.

The fact that Evans was suspended (he’s awaiting his appeal decision) and Lattimore wasn’t is such a crock.

    Total crock.

Also, there is also video of Lattimore from week 1 where he levels an opposing player, long after the whistle was blown.

No flag. No fine. No suspension.

And some of ya’ll still really think the NFL doesn’t hate and target the Bucs?

  2. Bucschamp Says:

Arians is old school. Look trash talking and shoving I ain’t gonna miss that

  3. Winny Testaverde Says:

The Great Mike Florio? He champions the JBF site quite a bit…but come on now!

  4. Tbbucs3 Says:

Goodell has already taken out 1 former Bucs coach….looks like he’s onto the next

  5. The Beer Whisperer Says:

I heard, the NFL is considering a penalty box, like in hockey.
When someone is naughty, they have to go sit in the penalty box for a few minutes.

  6. Pryda...Sec147 Says:

BS complete crap. Make BA a consultant coach too and say efff emmmm

  7. adam from ny Says:

and how can anyone possibly say the bucs and saints are not a rivalry…?

can’t wait for another rematch at ray jay in early december…

it’ll be tense from the jump off

  8. Rod Munch Says:

Hey Bruce, tell them to go —- themselves, you’ll do what you want.

  9. Rod Munch Says:

I don’t watch local news at all so I don’t know if it’s been mentioned yet, but both of major long range hurricane models put a major hurricane hitting right around Tampa next Thursday/Friday. Which means there is zero chance a hurricane will hit here as the models are literally never accurate this far out. But there will almost certainly be a major hurricane in the gulf next week. So you can add that to potential disruptions next week as the Bucs get ready to face the Chiefs.

  10. Sparky Says:

@RodMunch, what the hell are you talking about? You can’t forecast where a storm that hasn’t even formed yet might be in 11 days.

it could be hurricane geraldini coming to town 😉

  12. Delusional Intelligence Says:

The great Corn Florio obviously doesn’t like Arians, maybe Arians hid his cappuccino?

    I really despise

Per a league source with knowledge of the situation,

so vague, league wide, knowledge of the situation. Ronde Barber? Jaboo boo Winston? Ed Hochuli Jr? C’mon this Corn Florio article is nothing but an editorial with the promise I’m telling the truth.

    ————

I said you can be sure it WON’T hit us because both models are currently putting it right on top of Tampa, and it’s never accurate that far out. BUT there is about a 90% chance that this wave develops, and the steering patterns are putting it into the gulf, where, traditionally, the storms can go just about anywhere. Except Tampa, which hasn’t been hit by a hurricane in over 100-years. Although some would say that means we’re due.

Regardless, assuming that 90% number holds up, by this weekend, this will be all the talk.

  14. Jor Jor Binks Says:

Stop w/ the Florio dude…nobody likes or even respects that guy. You’re the best Bucs site all-time…don’t even correlate yourself w/ that guy anymore or acknowledge him. He’s the absolute worst (especially Bucs related). Hate or clown on me all you want or NEED to, but it’s the simple truth. Stop referencing Florio to Bucs

  15. Gbobucsfan Says:

Here here Binks!! Florio is a clown show!!

  16. Bucsfan13 Says:

Florio is a clown. Stop treating him like some deity. His life long obsession with Brady has made its way to Tampa, and now he’s had his sights on BA for three years now. I counted no less than five articles just this week written about the Bucs organization. He usually averages about three articles per week on Brady. Florio hates that Brady chose to play for and return to the Bucs. Florio sees this organization as a joke. He should send Brady a thank you card for keeping his site afloat with all the ad revenue Brady’s name has generated.

Florio is still seething that BA publicly called him out during his press conference. He’s also salty that Brady has never once acknowledged his existence.

  17. Rob In Land O Lakes Says:

    A few things:

Joe, I know you guys love Florio, but if that Karen got his way, the NFL would be flag football.

Secondly, I would imagine that the last place that personnel want to be during a game, discussing potential roster moves, etc, is the press box. The second to last place would be the sideline. I know.. Al Davis used to sit in the press box and Jason Licht likes to WATCH on occasion from field level.

Third, what kind of low class organization does not have a suite to accommodate the visiting team’s personnel. That’s like a high school making visitors change on their bus because the visiting locker room is “under construction”

I’ll tell you who? The most low class organization in the NFL playing at a facility so antiquated, Louisiana rats won’t go there. It’s a low rent facility in a craphole city that suits their craphole fans.

And while I’m on a good “Visit NOLA” rant… here’s a suggestion…. when you go and build a city on the water…. and I’m just spit balling here… maybe you don’t want to build it BELOW SEA LEVEL and then cry like a little biotch and stick your hand out every time a storm comes. YOU FLOODED DURING A HURRICANE? Never saw that one coming, Bobby Boucher

  18. Joseph C Simmons Says:

I love this rivalry. I don’t think we have a bigger rival, at least at the moment, than the Saints.

  19. Da Bucs Guy Says:

Embarrassing that some fans are just pointing the finger and blame at the Saints. It does not change the fact that several Bucs and upper front office acted out of hand and embarrassed the Bucs last Sunday.

  20. The Buc'n Waterboy Says:

My momma said “Lattimore has all them dollars and no sense” I was wondering why he wasn’t flagged for PI, or taunting the Bucs sideline and then Brady. Then he punched Playoff Lenny in the chin. He started it all. He is the common denominator in the whole thing. I understand that Evans shouldn’t have pushed that b!t@# to the ground (even though it was glorious), but if they’re going to suspend him, then suspend the jacka$$ that started it all. And fine the refs for not calling the penalty that created the animosity to begin with. It’s BS that the NFL is only focusing on the Bucs portion of that fight.

  21. WillieG Says:

“Hey Roger, Florio us writing about Arians.” — random NFL suit

“We’d better act tough!” — Roger

Sometimes I think this is what happens. The NFL doesn’t give a rat’s ass until some twit makes a big deal out of it.

  22. Letsbucinggo Says:

Colts job will be available after Reich gets fired this year maybe Arians can take the colts job.

  23. Listnfrmafar Says:

Lose this guy before he gets the Bucs a 15 yd penalty in a crucial game. This guy can’t stand not being in the lime light. I’m pretty sure when Mike was leaving the field by reading his lips he said, “Mike you p@#sy, you gonna let Latimore push Tommy?” Woody Hayes wannabe caused the Evan’s suspension. He was in his box seat but like some senile old men he aimlessly found his way to the sidelines.

  24. SufferingSince76 Says:

Nobody embarrassed the Bucs on Sunday. Evans’ emotion and clock cleaning hit on Lattimore was invigorating and the jolt the offense needed.

  25. Kev@Inverness Says:

    BA haters just wanna hate.
    Listnfrmafar, can we lose you?

  26. Buc4evr Says:

Visit NOLA, just crowned the Murder Capital of the USA. Low rent stadium, low rent team, low rent fans.

  27. Todd Says:

I personally don’t bend the knee to Florio Almighty.

The dude’s about 4’11” and sits on a virtue signaling high chair.

He can’t get his next series of boosters fast enough IMO.

  28. Winny Testaverde Says:

ListenFromMomsCar…noted Belicheat backer and former Pats bandwagoneer…is also an Arians antagonist. Arians…although not perfect…helped deliver a title and a quality coaching staff. Former players love him ( except for Anton BrownEye perhaps ) whereas Belicheat is as cutthroat as they come. I like Arians calling out nefarious nonsense and find it enjoyable…unless you’re ListenFromMomsCar and/or Fanboy Florio.

  29. stpetebucfan Says:

I agree with Joe. Everything the NFL has done is well within the bounds of fairness and normalcy. ME13 deserved the suspension…BA deserved the warning…but the gross injustice is that Lattimore still gets to cheat during the action and then woof at players continually before and after the play.

What happened to ME13 and BA is not outrageous. The lack of action against Lattimore is appalling.

I like hockey for this reason. They’ve controlled the violence a bit. 3rd man in a fight is given the ME13 treatment. However Lattimore would have been flagged as an instigator and also received punishment.

  30. Listnfrmafar Says:

Winny, I mean Whiny, BA shouldn’t of been there let alone antagonise Latimore. His days are over, he’s to senile to realize it. He was the one that took a knee and QUIT! You forgot Rojo, Adam’s, Whitehead & Cappa not to mention Brady. He ain’t so great man. Maybe if BA kept his trap shut maybe Latimore doesn’t talk shat to Brady. Put that relic out to pasture. Funny how Bucs beat the Saints now that he’s gone.

  31. Winny Testaverde Says:

Hey ListenFromMomsCar….good stuff there. Adams is out of the league and almost caused a killer penalty in the playoffs…Whitehead and Cappa were overpaid by others…pretty sure it wasn’t Arians who caused it and no one really knows if Brady preferred Bowles…so far so good there. Your boy Belicheat is mediocre at best sans Brady…and is actually older than Arians and will get “halved up” by the blonde homewrecker 2nd wife of his the minute he’s no longer a “big deal”.

  32. gotbbucs Says:

Arians has to know that he can’t handle being on the sideline without injecting himself into the game. He has to have that much self awareness. The addiction to that is too much for him to handle. Right now he looks like a Helicopter Head Coach that won’t let his hand picked successor just do his job.
To Bowles credit he doesn’t look affected but it, but it has to itch a little bit to constantly have dad looking over his shoulder.
If Arians chooses to continue to roam around on the sideline it won’t end well. He’s a marked man now and the officials are going to have a hair trigger for throwing a sideline flag on him. It’s just not smart.

  33. Listnfrmafar Says:

I have not been a Belichick fan since he sabotaged the 2016 SB. So when your children screw up do you slap them in the head? Let alone in front of family & friends? Whitehead couldn’t wait to leave. Hey Whinny I want to see Bucs go for another SB to but you can’t tell me BA trashing players and or refs on the sideline enhances those chances. Assisted housing is the answer.

  34. Buczilla Says:

The nfl is crooked AF and this is just more evidence of bias against our team to throw upon the mountain of evidence that already exists. florio isn’t even worth making fun of any more, but I’m sure that I’ll lose my willpower and do so in the future anyways.

***And some of ya’ll still really think the NFL doesn’t hate and target the Bucs?****

Here’s something you and I agree on 100%.
The league, and league wide disrespect of the Buccaneer franchise has been constant since the teams inception. Yes, even in our super bowl years.

It is most glaring in the officiating.
Bad calls, non calls, and numerous events like this Evans/Lattimore situation, where the refs and nfl come down on us while giving the actual instigator a free pass.

  36. David Says:

I agree about Lattimore. How was they not a taunting flag at least?
As for BA, love him but he should probably get off the sidelines because he gets rather emotional

  37. unbelievable Says:

    @gp – 100%

And look at us finding some common ground lol

  38. Listnfrmafar Says:

gp, sometimes they do this shat to slow a team down. It used to happen to the Pat’s all the time. Didn’t they just suspend a lineman from the Bill’s? His maybe different he popped a coach. Still only one game. The fact that the refs did nothing to prevent this is probably the only defense Evan’s has in his appeal.

  39. Buc1987 Says:

Maybe being a little generous here, but willing to bet we agree on the vast majority of things. Strange how we usually interact on issues on which we both intensely biased on opposing sides.
Thinking if we could sit face to face with a beer or two (maybe a quality cigar?) we’d probably come away with a lot more respect for each other.

Not a chance we’ll drop our biases though! LOL

  42. gp Says:

    Think you missed my point.
This has been going on since the inception of the franchise.
Not even the freaking GOAT gets respect from the refs when playing for the Bucs.

  43. Listnfrmafar Says:

gp, I like the scenario but you AIN’T got a chance in h@ll to change my mind on BA. Bowles, different story, he made a few bad calls against the Saints but I have to believe he had quite a bit of pressure on him going in. Getting over the Rams PO game is tough because I truly believe he was preoccupied and didn’t do his job. If his history doesn’t repeat itself, Jets and stint at Miami I could be converted. Brady has seemed to have taken a back seat so it’s on Bowles and he’s off to a good start.

  44. orlbucfan Says:

Sigh…… This stinks about Lattimore but it’s SOP for the NFL. I’ve seen/heard so much ref crap over the years, I just shrug it off. I’m not sure if this is fact, but there was a lot of talk about how HOF Coach Dungy warned his Tampa Two defense about the refs. They would have to play the opposing team, beat them, and outsmart the zebs at the same time.

  45. T REX Says:

Arians has no business running his mouth during a game.

    None.

It is unacceptable. Period. Zero defense of it.

    Press box buddy.
