What Do The Numbers Say About Tom Brady?

August 4th, 2022

More Tom Brady predictions.

Yesterday Joe brought word of what NFL Network stats queen Cynthia Frelund thinks of Tom Brady.

As in what she thinks he will do this fall.

Frelund believes Brady will again lead the NFL in touchdowns thrown. However, it gets worse (or better?) for Brady with other stats.

Frelund thinks Brady’s passing numbers will be lower this year. That’s not really a critique because the dude threw for 5,316 yards last year.

Additionally, Frelund has Brady’s interception totals dropping. He will still have double-digit picks, but only at 10. Last year Brady had 12 picks.

It is mindblowing to Joe that in the real world we are talking about a 45-year-old quarterback whose interception numbers will drop. That’s just insane.

You can see LaDainian Tomlinson and Frelund break down Brady’s numbers in the NFL Network video below.

    Everything!, but her face.

  2. SB Says:

Aw snap. Now I will get canceled.

  3. Rod Munch Says:

Without Arians getting on Leftwich, who is naturally a ultra conservative run it up the middle type of guy, you can except points and yards to be down — unless Brady gives Leftwich the finger and just decides to run the offense all by himself, which would be the ideal situation.

  4. David Says:

I think she’s probably right on because they might punch it in on the ground a little more. I don’t think the offense changes much other than, with Bowles at the helm, I believe they have about 3-4 more running plays per game to help save the defense

Overlooked in all of this: Brady said no. Multiple times. He turned down partial ownership of the fins to stay with Tampa.

No one here seems to have picked up on that.

I’m not saying I disagree with you Bonzai, but the creator and curator of PFT the Great Mike CORNflorio would say that the only reason Brady & Sean Payton didn’t go to Miami is due to the Brian Flores lawsuit. I’m not saying he is right, as I don’t trust CornFlorio as far as I can fart, but things are transpiring in a way that make me go Hmmmm. (I apologize for the C+C Music Factory reference).

The only stat I’m bummed about is Brady and Gronk won’t break Manning and Harrison’s “unbreakable” overall total career record of 114 TDs from a single QB to a single receiver.

Brady and Gronk have 104, so barring injury, they COULD have broken the record this season if Gronk hadn’t hung up his cleats.

Would have made this season that much more fun rooting for them to break that “unbreakable” record. Still love Gronk, but such a bummer won’t have that extra excitement to cheer for.

  8. Maniac Buc Says:

Kody, do not worry, that unbreakable record will be broken by Joe Burrow and Jamarr Chase in about 10 years.

  9. adam from ny Says:

    i agree with rod…

wouldn’t it be cool if brady just does whatever the heck he wants and doesn’t listen to byron at all…

but buys him a couple drinks after each game to keep things chill

    🙂

Cynthia… I’ll bet your numbers look right.

  11. Beeej Says:

I was shocked we only averaged 30 min of possession last year (30:11, bottom half of NFL)….we simply scored too fast, and incomplete passes stop the clock. Lil more ball control would have helped shield our leaky D

  12. Listnfrmafar Says:

Tomlinson hates Brady, he kept him from a SB twice. Hopefully the ints get cut in half from bouncing bouncing off receivers hands.

  13. Craig Says:

Brady will be more prone to throw the ball away this season.

A young center and no Gronk will cause that. It will keep the interceptions down a little, but shouldn’t be a big affect in the overall stats.

A few less runs on first down is all I’m asking of BL.
