Tom Brady Is Your NFL Network No. 1 Player For 2022

August 29th, 2022

No. 1.

Back in the dark ages of the Lost Decade, specifically the halcyon Stewart McClown nightmare that came on the heels of the Mike Glennon era, Joe never imagined living to see the day that a Bucs quarterback would be voted by his peers as the best player in the league.

Well, that day is here.

NFL Network unveiled its top-ten players in the league last night, capped off by the No. 1 player in the NFL voted on by players.

And that player for 2022 is Bucs quarterback Tom Brady.

That last sentence is so surreal for Joe that Joe is now fully expecting a scantily-clad Rachel Watson to knock on his front door tonight looking for personal warmth and comfort.

Some of the players in the video of Brady’s segment said it all. His will to win is unmatched. And for an old man at a then-age of 44 to lead the NFL in passing and touchdowns thrown, what more is there to say?

And he’s still with the Bucs. An unreal dream back in 2014.

All hail Brady!

  4. BucsfanFred Says:

    Congrats, Tom!
Btw, that’s for the 2021 season.

  5. Mike pizzoli Says:

I can still remember watching the very first top 100 that came after the 2010 season. Brady was mvp that year throwing for 36 tds and only 4 picks, although the loss to the jets in the divisional round was absolutely devastating

  6. Esteban85 Says:

It says right up at the top left “NFL top 100 players of 2022.”
I know what you’re gonna say but still that’s what it says.
    HAIL!!

  7. Buczilla Says:

Brady is the only Buc that they got right this year and he should have been number one last year and the year before that. I’m looking at this with a grain of salt though since these same players that voted Brady number one, put Rodgers at number three. Lol wtf?!? Rodgers is usually amazing during the regular season, just like Payton Mannng was, but he chokes in the playoffs even more than Manning did. I’ll never understand the infatuation that folks have with amazing players that consistently underachieve.

  8. Joe Says:

Btw, that’s for the 2021 season

Not according to the NFL. Please look at the graphic the NFL pumped out Sunday night. Clearly says “2022.”

Go ahead and go to NFL.com. All the stories about this feature refer to “2022.”

  9. CleanHouse Says:

Words can’t describe how incredible this is. This man brought respect to our franchise. He’s the best.

  10. Howard Cosell Says:

Howard is googling Josh McCown and Stewart McClown just for old time sake

  11. BucsfanFred Says:

Joe, you wrote 2020 season in the article.

  12. BucsfanFred Says:

That.said, it was for his 2021 performance, but I guess they call it for this year.

  13. Red-sparrow Says:

TB12 The Greatest Of Them All

  14. Steven007 Says:

Joe, correct, says 2022. Problem is you said 2020. Simple fix.

  15. CleanHouse Says:

Hey, I was just thinking…. Maybe since we have the best current and all time player at QB, we should get him some proper Protection up front.

    Make it happen Mr. Licht

  16. Joe Says:

Joe, you wrote 2020 season in the article.

    Freudian slip. 🙂

  17. Guzzie Says:

We had protection it just got injured, stole Mason for peanuts, paid our center big bucks to stay, had 3yr backup Super Bowl guard starter compete against a 2nd round rookie with great potential, what else could they possibly have done

  18. firethecannons Says:

so glad he is a Buc, BA and Jason Licht pulled the trigger on the deal to get TB12 without hesitation and that is why BA needs to be in the ring of honor–so glad TB12 won us all a ring!

  19. SOEbuc Says:

That is a fact. He’s a freak. But this NFL Network 100 list has been a joke. Mike Evans #53? 🤣

  20. SOEbuc Says:

    ^^Didnt list Vita in top 100 🤣

  21. Buc king Says:

Rachel Watson is not really looking like the 1 Joe.
I’ve met way badder bucs cheerleaders ar brunches or training camp.

  22. CleanHouse Says:

Guzzie, those are good points and a great reminder that they are trying hard, but they need to work some extra front office magic now.

    And bring back Suh

  23. steele Says:

More important are the rest of the top 10 names on the list. A reminder that every single one of them a bitter enemy, and Bucs will have to face most of them.

  24. Oneilbuc Says:

They gave him that because it’s his last year I will still say Arron Donald is the best football player in the NFL. At this point of his career he has to have a all star type of team on offense.

  25. Youngbucs Says:

Yo this 🤡 oneilaints still here hating dude need a life. Hey oneilaints how’s that old washed QB with the noodle arm thing going? Is that still a thing? Lol they gave it to him because the players know. How should have been mvp the last two years if players where the people voting as it should be.

  26. Youngbucs Says:

I guess there’s no good saints blogs. Oneilaints can’t resist joebucsfan!

  27. Listnfrmafar Says:

Oneilbucyall, your just a hater. Voted on by the PLAYERS!!! His peers. Sorry Jamais didn’t make the top 200, maybe next season. If you didn’t see the difference in control, arm strength over Gabbert & your boy #2 Trask you simply do NOT know football. So you, SB-LV, oralbuc can go SUCK it! He’s the best and the players have spoken!

  28. Youngbucs Says:

Oneilaints has been wrong about everything he’s said on this site. His history in these comments is archived for all to see. He’s been wrong about every single thing!

  29. Oneilbuc Says:

Listnfrmafar. You are a blind you know good well that Brady ain’t better than Mahomes or Rogers. And yes he has to have a all star team at this point. You or a Brady fan lol 🤣🤣 but happy this his last year and your’s as a buc ..

  30. Oneilbuc Says:

Lol 🤣🤣 I see facts don’t really matter on this site with you Brady/ Patriots bucs fans.

  31. Anonymous Says:

Best free agent acquisition in sports history!

  32. Mike28277 Says:

Being acknowledged by his peers means more than sports writers votes.

  33. MonkeyMan Says:

What a great way to start the week!

    Forever the 🐐

    TB12

  34. Listnfrmafar Says:

Oneilsuckyall, if they were better the players would have voted. Teams have figured Mahomes out and Roger’s chokes in the big games. Who had more yards and td’s last season? Neither of those two will EVER surpass Brady’s accomplishments. Mahomes may win a few more SB’s but Roger’s is one and done.

  35. Chris K Says:

The haters, trolls and Jamies apologist must of cried themselves to sleep last night!

  36. Bucsfanman Says:

Well deserved! I don’t know how anyone can deny it, especially a so-called “Bucs fan”!

Arguably, one of the biggest heists in football last year was Rodgers getting MVP.

  37. Jerid421 Says:

I don’t know who I love more: Tom Brady or Rachel Watson!?!

  38. D-Rok Says:

Congrats to Brady and the entire Bucs team. Brady wouldn’t got ’nuffin without the team. Well deserved honor, because he played lights-out last year.

    At age 44.

    GO BUCS!!!

  39. Eddie Marz Says:

II still can’t believe Brady didn’t win the MVP LAST YEAR. GOBUCS!

  40. Goatfarmer Says:

Osqueel is a miserable troll who likes his mom’s basement.

  41. Rod Munch Says:

BSPN just published their own top 100 list, and they put Brady at #20, the 5th QB on the list.

  42. matthew veal Says:

What’s interesting is he is fine with a coach and a backup (Trask and Leftwich) who play and coach a different style. No quick plays for either unlike tb12.

Makes you think that Trask will go where Leftwich goes. He will need guys that fit his approach.

I get why both don’t always get love from the joebucsfan posters because, with good reason, they are tb12 guys. Can’t blame them, he’s the goat. A bit irreplaceable

  43. Shecky Says:

Was definitely surprised Brady finished #1 but since it’s the players voting and they’re ones out there competing every week…
What’s more to say? Their vote matters more than ESPN’s, that’s for certain.
Fourth time he’s finished #1 in his ridiculous career.

  44. Listnfrmafar Says:

Belichick choking on rookie sausage while his throw away QB get voted #1 by his peers. That’s got to sting. Ouch!

  45. MarkR Says:

Oneilbuc, you can pick any QB you want. I’m going with the guy who as a starter has gone to the superbowl on average every other year for the last 20 YEARS!
